Hardcore Fitness Maniacs check-in for December2017

Debbie, I like that Build and Burn has some different moves in it. It makes it more fun to do it and targets things differently.

Jolie, I don't think from looking that there is a huge different in cost from the Fit Bit Blaze and the Ionic. I think doing extra long workouts daily just leads to fatigue and and over training. I do like a long workout once in awhile though. So much with results is the diet anyway. The Christmas card picture was taken a couple of years ago. We didn't do anything like that this year. Thank you for the compliment :)

Today I did two cardio workouts and had a lot of fun!!

First I did Build & Burn Kickbox & Kettlebell workout which is just super fun! This workout was 28 minutes and I burned 211 calories. Avg. HR was 140 and Max was 185. I went 2056 steps.

Then I did Cardio Coach 1 and did well with that workout. That workout was 36 minutes, went 2.4 miles, burned 299 calories (TM said 329) and went 5039 steps. Avg. HR was 141 and Max 204!!!! Now I don't know how that is even possible? My FB was reading way high with both workouts and I'm not sure why? Although the Blaze was doing that as well, just not this high. So I'm not sure if my HR is higher than usual or what? It certainly doesn't feel like it is.

Jolie - You won't regret getting the Ionic if you choose to get that one, it is AWESOME! However, I am having some issues syncing it to my phone, not sure why. It seems temperamental about that. But it is a cool watch, I think they are trying to make it similar to the Apple watch.

Diane Sue - B&B is awesome, I really like that workout set, glad I got it. I will be getting more from her soon.

Roselyn - So sorry to hear you still aren't feeling well. Here's hoping it's gone by New Years day!!!

I had grandchildren over last night so did not get to my workout till late. I just did a short one. My dog has her yearly vet appointment this afternoon. I saw a few snow flakes floating through the air when the children left. I hope it holds out a bit. I just did Build and Burn Trim down with 10# dumbbells for most. I use 8's for the stuff that hits the shoulders like scare crows and punch outs. Total time was 24 minutes, calories burned 156, heart rate average 129, max 150, 1,732 steps. I still need to do Build and Burn upper again this week to get the entire workout in in a month. I did it Monday so I will do it either tomorrow or Saturday. Cathe's will be coming and I purchased both the downloads and discs.

Roselyn, that virus seems to hang on. It took me and my husband weeks to get past it. No real fevers here though, but what seemed almost flu like symptoms otherwise. I finally purchased oil of oregan capsules and a week of 500 mg of those and finally my coughing stopped and chest and head feel pretty much back to normal.

Debbie, I am loving the Build and Burn set. Nice workout today!! Great burn and lots of steps :) I have had my Fit Bit Blaze do that and it would seem to be a pattern for a few days. Maybe it is stress or more caffeine or something. I have no idea. Mine did that recently , but seems to have settled back down to what is more normal..I noticed when it was running higher my resting heart rate was also a couple of beats higher as well, even overnight. This last time though, I was battling a head cold and coughing like crazy and I have a feeling that was what caused the fluctuations.

Today I did Low Impact Total Body Trisets. I did the Back, Biceps & Abs premix. I had an excellent workout, this one is fun. Not sure why I haven't done this more often?

Triset #1
One-Arm Row w/Leg Raise - 25#/15 reps
Incline Hammer Curl w/Twist - 15's/16 reps
Ball Crunches - 8#/16 reps (Didn't feel these)
Repeat, no rest

Triset #2
Stability Ball Pullovers - 25#/15 reps
Alternate Curls - 15's/16 reps
Ball Exchange - 16 reps
Repeat, no rest

Triset #3
Rear Delt Flyes - 5's/16 reps
Concentration Curls - 12#/15#/15 reps/10 reps
Reverse Crunches - 32 reps
Repeat, no rest

Workout was 35 minutes, burned 230 calories, Avg. HR 129, Max 164. Another high calorie burn for me with weights. :)

Also walked on my treadmill for 2 miles. Burned another 254 calories and went 4913 steps. Avg HR was 115 and Max was 135.

Nice workouts everyone! I probably won't be back until Tuesday. I am going to figure up a rotation using Cathe and Kelly workouts, maybe even add in some RIPT workouts as well. I will have a plan by Tuesday.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Debbie, nice work today. I saw Kelly is having a sale on New Years Day at 10 dollars each for her dvds. I think that excludes build and burn :)

Today I did Low Impact Challenge from the Low Impact series, 52 minutes, 359 calories, average heart rate 147, max 174, 4, 668 steps. I have catch up house cleaning and some varnishing to do in the add on room. I am glad that I get to stay inside today.

Today I walked outside because it is absolutely beautiful, 85 degrees! I walked 7 miles, 2 hours and I burned 1,002 calories! I feel really good today, I went to the chiropractor yesterday and I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I will however, take it slow with the weights again because I have learned my lesson about jumping right back in and hurting my back again. Nothing that cant be fixed, its just a pain and very expensive.

Diane Sue,
nice workout today and you are so lucky about the snow starting to fall yesterday. Have a great day at home and enjoy!

Debbie,
I am either going to get the Ionic or the one below the Blaze that I have now. I really do not use many of my Blaze programs so I don't see why I should spend the money. I want calorie burn, heart rate, steps and gps for my walking. Have a nice time off and Happy New Year!

Roselyn, I hope you are feeling better!

Have a wonderful day!

Jolie, nice work on the walk. I don't think that I have hit 1000 calories in years. I think when I did I was doing 10 miles on the treadmill plus weight workouts and step workouts on the same days. It makes me tired thinking about it now :) You have some nice weather. It will get below freezing here tomorrow. They are telling us to prepare for the freeze with faucets dripping and check outside faucets. If you are not interested in the other features it does not make sense to get the more expensive watch. I have some interest and the Ionic looks great to me. I get my text message and incoming call notifications on my Blaze which I like. That way I don't always need to run to the phone to see if I am needed in the middle of workouts or something else. I like the larger screen for this reason and for if I were to ever decide to use one of the workouts on the Blaze.

Today I will do Build and Burn upper supersets. I am waiting on my Fit Split dvds. I ordered the downloads as well. This is the second time that I used Pay Pal for an order and they did notbsend me my download code:( I emailed them ast night and am waiting for a response. I only got the generated we got your mail one. I bet with the long weekend I hear nothing. I posted about it and they said they sent codes to the email associated with shop cathe emails yesterday. My email did not change in years and they manage to email that the dvds were sent. I am disappointed. I thought I was going to download and do some of the new workouts today.

Kelly Coffey is starting her streaming Vimeo channel January first Coffey Fit Raw . I am not sure how itvworks though. Originally it was going to be youtube and shevwas having problems with it. It will be 9.99 a month. She will have premixes available from her workouts there as well.

Debbie, I hope that you find something that you really like.

My workout is done. I used Build and Burn premixes. I did Build and Burn Cardio Core & Upper Intervals, 33 minutes, heart rate average 127, max 151, 1,904 steps, 217 calories. This one had the cardio core segments with 1 superset for each body part between cardio core and ended with the burn out set. I liked it :D I then followed with the mix upper two which is two sets of the upper body with burn outs. I skipped the warm up so it was 18 minutes, 99 calories, heart rate average 115, max 153. I finished off with Suzanne Bowen Barre Amped Strengthen and Stretch Upper stretch, 13 minutes, 33 calories. Total time was 64 minutes and calories burned 349.

Happy new year, in pjs on couch woo hoo stilll fighting this sickness tried some weights and it kicked my butt. A week tomorrow and it can go away anytime

I finally got my downloads last night. My workouts came yesterday afternoon. I will be starting the Fit Split workouts tomorrow. I saw Kelly Coffey is starting a Vimeo channel today. I downloaded Vimeo but did not find her yet.

Roselyn, it took me about 3 weeks to start feeling like much. I know what you mean. I tried to work out and mainly did some weights because I just did not have it in me to do cardio and definitely not a long one. I am just getting back into more cardio again. It wiped me out.

Today I did FIt Split Boxing Bootcamp /legs and glutes, 58 minutes, 410 calories, heart rate average 125/ max 172, 3,899 steps. I added the Bonus abs separately (there is a basic mix that adds them ) 13 minutes, 68 calories, heart rate average 113, max 148, 229 steps. I ended with the lower body stretch from Suzanne Bowen Barre Amped Strengthen and Stretch , 20 minutes, 44 calories. 522 calories, 91 minutes. I used Cathe's weight for everything except the squats which I used 25's for. I usually try to go with what she does till I get a feel for the workout. Also it will be easier to write down when we get the users guide and work sheets.

Jolie, thanks I hope you have the best year ever :) That was a lot of mileage for walking, nice work.

I ordered 4 of Kelly'so DVD'S today, great deal on them, thanks Diane Sue, for letting me know! I got "Body Design" "Body Shop" "Home Gym Intervals" - this one looks extremely fun! And "Meltdown". Looking forward to getting them.

I was going to start Body Beast but I just don't want to do all lifting. I know, shocker, right? I am enjoying the cardio and weights training so will do that for a while longer.

Does anyone know if Cathe has her workouts and premixes listed somewhere?

Wow is it cold here, 6 degrees with a wind chill of -10. The schools who were supposed to start back today are closed. Ridiculous weather, I hate it. I'm sick of dressing in layers of clothes, I feel like an Eskimo.

Today I did Cardio Coach 6 with Candace and had an excellent workout. This one seemed to go by fast, loved it.

Workout was 54 minutes, burned 410 calories (TM said 503), went 3.54 miles and did 7393 steps. Avg HR was 121 and Max was 186.

Nice workouts everyone. I need to figure out what I want to do. I need to find where Cathe (hopefully) has a posting with all her workouts plus the premixes/times of each contained in them. If anyone knows of such a thing, please direct me as to where to get it.

Thanks! Have great workouts!!!

Debbie I hope this helps you out. She doesn't have the user guide up yet.
http://shop.cathe.com/Fit-Split-DVD-Series-p/1024.htm This should give you the premixes. Click on the premix length. If you want to see the exercises in each workout you can check the workout manager. Fit Split is there. I looked over the Push Day and The Pull day and the weight work looks pretty good. I was not ready for one of them today though after yesterday's lower workout.

Today I did Fit Split Low Impact Cardio/ Metabolic conditioning, 49 minutes, 324 calories, heart rate average 124/max 155, 2,155 steps. I then did Barre Amped Strength and stretch relaxation stretch and bonus ball stretch 20 minutes, 40 calories. I used Cathe's weights for the metabolic conditioning workout, Total time was 69 minutes, 364 calories. I wish there was not quite so much of the to the floor and back up moves. I think the older I get the less I like that type of work. Maybe part is because I am still sore from yesterday. My oblique area and low back are sore after yesterday's bonus abs from Fit Split.
