Hardcore Fitness Maniacs check-in for December2017

Debbie, I love Home Gym Intervals. I have used it with my spin bike and the tread climber. Time flies by for me when I do this one. I am sure that you will the new workouts. The price was really good too.

This week I am going to do one body part per day along with some cardio. Today I did Biceps and I went lite, I am going to take it easy on the heavy weights for awhile. I did 2 Giant Sets with 16 reps per set, no rest and I finished with a finisher.

Traditional Bicep Curls- 15# x 16, x 16

W Curls- 12# x 16, x 16

Hammer Curls- 15# x 16, x 16

Hammer Curls with a twist- 12# x 16, x 16

Finisher- Conc. Curls (40 seconds) 12# x 30 each side.

I burned 105 calories which included my STS Meso 2 warmup.

Cardio- TM for 40 minutes, 6.0 Incline, 3.3 speed, 2.2

Cardio

That is weird, only half my post was posted. I did the Tm for 40 minutes, 2.2 miles, 3.3 speed, 6.0 incline and burned 400 calories walking uphill. Total Calorie burn was 505.

I will be back later to read your posts for the day. Roselyn, I am glad you are feeling better!

Debbie, It is 80 degrees here today, what a difference from where you live! I would like some winter weather but I'm not complaining, that is cold!

Roselyn, I hope you get all of your strength back soon. Nice that you were able to get in a leg day.

Jolie, we were where Debbie is on temps the last two days. Today it has got up to a whopping 20 degrees. I want a bit warmer. Above freezing is nice :) I am glad that you are going lighter. Hopefully you can avoid the chiropractor again.

Workout was 35 minutes, burned 217 calories. Avg HR was 128 and Max was 174!! Holy crap!!

Also walked on my treadmill for 1 mile just to get some steps in. This was 20 minutes, went 2517 steps, avg HR was 94 and Max was 128 and I burned 109 calories.

Diane Sue - Thanks for the that link, it helps. Some of the premixes on there doesn't show time, though. Oh well, I'll have to check it out on the DVD's.

Jolie - I'd kill for 80 degrees. This deep freeze just sucks. Our pipes froze up last night but luckily we caught it in time. Sick of it already. Supposed to be a high of 5 tomorrow and Friday. Ridiculous. Global warming my @ss!!!

Roselyn - Glad to see you are working out again but take it easy until you feel 100%. Glad the worst is over.

Deb, the workout manager doesnt give yhe times. Only the premixes on the sale page. I am hoping the grt the user guide download somI can get the information prior to doing the workouts. I think most of the weights only stuff is around 30 minutes. The push and pull weights yogether is around 62:29 minutes. Pull only is 36:45, push only is 32:02, just metabolic conditioning is 29:53 minutes. Let me know what you want to know and ,aybe I can help. Workout manager will give yhe full workout times. It just doesnt give the premix times. You have to look at the store and dvd itself to get premix times.

Today my lower back is sore, I had to put all of the Christmas decorations and tree away yesterday and that stuff is heavy! I decided to do Chest since I can lay down on a bench for all of the exercises which takes the stress off my low back. I did a Giant Set again, 16 reps, 4 exercises and I did 3 rounds. I used only DB's. I was suppose to do pushups as a finisher but I didn't want to hurt my back so I skipped it. Workout was 20 minutes and I burned 122 calories. I was supposed to walk on the treadmill but I'm tired today so I skipped that too!

Chest Press- 15# x 16 ( 3 rounds of this Giant Set )

Chest Flies- 12# x 16

Incline Chest Press- 15# x 16

Incline Chest Flies- 12# x 16

I went really lite but I felt this workout. Changing up the rep pattern from week to week really makes my muscles sore. My Biceps are feeling it from yesterdays workout!

I am trying to each more veggies this year as well as more protein. My Cholesterol numbers came back a little high so I need to address that issue. It could be that I did not fast for the blood test and I do eat a ton of eggs!!! I should eat more chicken and steak I suppose.

Debbie, good job on the STS Total Body Upper Workout today! I love that workout. I always split the upper body with the lower body, I like to workout like that better than the whole body at one time. I'm usually too tired the next day... It actually hit 88 degrees here yesterday! My boys were at the beach spear fishing and Jet skiing the entire day like it was summer time! I here there is a huge storm coming to the East Coast! Buckle down the hatches!!! I know you aren't near the coast but I am sure you will get some of it.

Diane Sue,
I will check back in later to see what you did for your workout!

Roselyn, have a nice workout.

Have a wonderful day.

Today I just did cardio so I started with Fit Split Cardio Shred timesaver #1 cardio only mix with warm up and stretch, 29 minutes, heart rate average 141, max 167, 224 calories, 2,654 steps. I then did Fit Split Mixed Impact Cardio Timesaver #1 cardio only with w/u and stretch, 28 minutes, heart rate average 138, max 167, 2,585 steps. Total time today was 57 minutes, 416 calories, 5,239 steps. Hopefully I am ready for some more of the weight work tomorrow. Shred uses the step and is a lot of jumping on and off the step. There is a lot of impact in it. Mixed Impact was not too bad. There was enough break between the impact which was not terribly long in each segment. Then again both have some burpee moves in them as well. This is not a great thing for me right now.

Jolie, you sound like you are in vacation land :) But then again you get terribly miserably hot summer days. My aunt from Washington State goes to Arizona and stays during winter months :) I think we will get above freezing today and I need to go to Sprouts so I am holding hope. Not every street area is bad. People just need to be aware that anywhere there was a bit of wet, it can be slick.

The low impact metabolic has walk out walk in planks, walk out plank jacks, mountain climbers gliding style,, the metabolic has squat thrust 2 push ups, dragging plank moguls, plank kickbacks , and monster walks. My wtists were sonsore along with my shoulders last night. Then the bonus abs that I did yesterday is predominantly on the hands or arms, crab kick, bear crawl, pistol planks, side plank hip lifts, straight arm plank toe, moguls, pike curls. My low back hurts and my wrists are sore. I saw that there are plyo push ups in one of the strength workouts. I won't be doing them this way.

Roselyn, it has been frigid here. Today it got up to 41 which is like a heat wave after around 5 degrees. I went to the grocery store around the corner and I think a lot of people had the same idea about finally getting out of the house.

I almost didn't run this morning due to a slight migraine I had last night. It was still lingering this morning. I was all set to just walk on my treadmill and then after I got ready I felt ok to run. So I did and I had a great workout.

I did Cardio Coach 3 and like I said, had a great workout. Love this one and I'm getting better at running longer and faster. This workout was one of my top ones with this cardio workout.

Workout was 40 minutes total, ran 2.9 miles (almost 3!!!), burned 346 calories (TM said 382 so not much difference) and went 5845 steps. Avg HR was 142 and Max was 204.

I also did the ab work from SJ&P.

Now I'm not sure what is going on with the HR stuff. I never have an average in the 140's and my Max's have never been over 170's. Not sure if this Ionic is having issues or what? I am having trouble sycning it and there are a lot of people with the same issue. I don't want to return it, though, because it is an awesome piece of equipment, I love the features. So we'll see. I think tonight I'm going to uninstall it and then reinstall it from scratch and see if that helps. FB doesn't seem to care that there is an issue with it.

Diane Sue - Nice workout and calorie burn!! Are those Cathe's new workouts?

Jolie - Hope your back is better today, wish you didn't have those issues. Nice workout, though. No, I"m not near the East coast thank God. They are calling that a Cyclone. The word alone makes me scared. LOL!!!

Roselyn - Hope you get over that soon!!!

Debbie, nice job and mileage today. I am glad that the migraine let up. Fit Bit is slow to say anything on their forums till they have pretty much come up with a solution. Mine has been erratic off and on, but seems to have settled down. I have worn a polarvwatch with the strapnalong with the FitbBit and theybare generally pretty close on heartrate.

Today it is so beautiful outside I opted for a long walk, 7 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes, 151 average, 181 max ( this must be wrong though I went up hill for 3 miles!) and I burned 1,048 calories.

Debbie,
I got a new Fitbit Blaze last weekend at Target for $120 on clearance! It is gold and pink, I don't mind it at all, actually its cute. I have extra wrist bands from my last Blaze so I can change the color when I want to. I notice my heart rate is higher on this new Blaze as well and I manually have to sync it with my phone at the end of the day. I think my iPhone is older and that is probably the issue with the new Blaze. Nice workout even though you are not feeling well. I am so sore from my higher rep workout I can hardly believe it!

Diane Sue, The workout you did today looks like fun. The calorie burn you got from the workout is great! Is that on of Cathe's new workouts that just shipped? Sorry to hear your arms, shoulders and wrists are sore from your workout.

Roselyn, I hope you survive the cold weather! I cannot believe the pictures I am seeing on the news today. My sister in law lives on Cape Cod and she is really getting the brunt of the storm. Stay safe and stay off the roads!!!

Off to take the Christmas lights off the house. I think I will start some touch up painting on the inside of my house this month.

Everything feels pretty good today even after the long weight workout today. :D

Jolie, I just bought a new band for my blaze that is a lighter pink shade with black trim and a pinkish/ copper toned frame. I like it a lot. I have several colors and a leather band that I purchased along with different colors of frames. That is interesting that your heart rate seems higher with your new blaze. I had to go back and pair mine with my Galaxy phone. I noticed it was still showing it paired to the one I had to send back. I kept wondering why I was having problems and would have to resort to my tablet to sync and update. I am not sure how that happened. That was a great price for the Blaze. I still have some painting touch up around the ceiling in the room addition and more staining and varnishing for the closet molding and trim. I think I am a bit tired of this stuff. I recently refinished the kitchen cabinets and touched up all of the downstairs woodwork.

Today I decided to do STS Total Body and did the Lower Body Premix. Had a great workout.

Also walked on my treadmill for 1 mile just to get some steps in. This was 20 minutes, went 2452 steps, avg HR was 96 and Max was 127 and I burned 112 calories.

It is 15 below zero here today. I was hoping they would call off our work but no such luck. Can't wait to go out in that cold. This is supposed to break on Sunday and go up to 36, looking forward to that!!!

Diane Sue - I bought a bunch of cool colored bands for my Ionic. I love that you can switch these bands out. I have a pretty teal one on today!

Jolie - Nice calorie burn, wow!!! I can't believe you walk that much, wish I could do that!!!
