Hardcore Fitness Maniacs check-in for December2017

Debbie, Body Design is a mix of workouts that are around 15 minutes each that can be combined through premixes or done individually. I use them mostly as add ons to other workouts. There is a 15 minute bootcamp cardio that does not use weights, a light weight and cardio workout, a weighted kickbox workout, an upper workout, a lower workout, and a yoga workout. A short warm up and cooldown is there. It is not a heavy weight type of workout.

So sorry about your cat Debbie, my dog is not doing well he turned 15 in november :(

No workout today my body said no and I listened for once! tomorrow I am doing the live that was posted today ramped up tri-sets looks interesting

Last night was as hard as I thought it would be. Very hard to let go of our little furry friends. He's at peace, now, though. :( Today I did Cardio Pump and had an excellent workout. No treadmill workout today, just don't feel like it. This was enough for me today.

Workout was 38 minutes, Avg HR was 84, Max 140 and burned 111 calories.

Diane Sue - Thanks for the breakdown of that workout, maybe I'll check out some others instead. LOL!

Roselyn - Thank you, it was so hard. Our fur babies mean the world to us, it is so hard to let them go. :(

Have a great workout everyone and I probably won't be back until after Christmas. So you all have a very Merry Christmas! God Bless you all!

Today I did Sharon Twombly Athletic Step Jam step and abs, 83 minutes, 551 calories, heart rate average 135, max 173, 6,915 steps. I think I may be doing some painting on our addition today. Yesterday we went and purchased paint and I came home and stained molding, I will need to stain and varnish the doors to the closet and room. Freezing drizzle in the forcast today. I hope it does not get too bad.

Debbie, I know it was rough for you yesterday and it leaves an empty spot in our lives. I kind of thought that you might not want that workout :) I think you might like the Tabata upper work in Shape Up. The lower body is step and not really much for weights on that one though. I love the upper body though. I should look over some of my worksheets and see what I think you might like. I lean toward liking Strength and Stamina which does have some kettlebell with the weight work. Meltdown is tough and done in three rounds , of
kettlebell swings
seated overhead press
seated row and biceps curl
bench press and skull crusher
bench hops or side hops on the floor as a modifications
10 barbell clean from hips
10 barbell front thrusters
10 bsrbell front squats
Workout two is a heavy bag and cardio workout on this dvd

Well, obviously this is a rest week for me! I hurt my back again moving things around for Christmas so I had to go to the Chiropractor yesterday and I did not want to aggravate it today so I took another rest day. This has hands down been the hardest year of my life, except for the year that my brother died when I was 24 years old. My youngest son is failing out of high school and I am feeling helpless and sad. I am such a stress ball that it is really crippling me, doing everyday activities are really hard to accomplish. Not the end of the world but extremely stressful none the less.

Debbie, so sorry for your loss! RIP kitty. Great workout today, I am proud of you for getting it done!!!

Diane Sue, nice job working out today. I have heard about this trainer but never purchased any of her workouts.

Roselyn, good job on the workout today.

I picked up some new running shoes today so I will walk tomorrow and burn some major calories. I am going to throw all the Christmas snacks away this weekend and get ready for the New Year. I want to get really healthy this year and in great shape. I will have to be very careful because my back is just bad lately. I notice if I don't lift heavy and do higher reps I'm good! I need something to help with the stress. Working out used to do a lot for me but not lately.

Happy Friday!

Roselyn, is that from the live workouts?

Jolie, I know life sometimes throws us some rough time. Stay strong. These are the times that either tear us down or makes us better and stronger. It builds our character. Look for the things that are good, give yourself a break where needed. I am sorry that your younger son is having these problems. Sending prayers your way. Is the back problems due to some of your problems with the lower body maybe? I guess the chiropractor would be able to work on your alignment.

Today I did Kelly Coffey Total Body Kickbox challenge mix which alternates the kickbox and strength segments, 45 minutes, 288 calories, heart rate average 121, max 167, 3,515 steps. I then did the Fit Tower Advanced bonus abs, 12 minutes, 40 calories and finished off with Suzanne Bowen Barre Amped Power stretch 24 minutes, 60 calories. Total time was 81 minutes, 388 calories.

I forgot to post yesterday! Merry Christmas Eve Day everyone.

I walked on the TM for 60 minutes, 6.0 incline, 3.3 speed and I burned 528 calories. My back is sore so I am not working out today, I am heading to the grocery store and then to Costco. I am grilling steaks tomorrow so I have to go and get some big ones for the guys to eat. Tonight we are going to Newport Beach for Mexican food and Margaritas!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your families! I finished the wrapping last night, it is a miracle that I actually pulled this off this year, lol!

Merry Christmas.

Today is a rest day. I am doing some painting and staining. I finished a lemon pie and deviled eggs are at least boiled and peeled so far. We will be headed to my oldest daughter's house tomorrow afternoon,

Jolie, I think after Mexican food, I would not have room the next day for steak :) It sounds wonderful.

My workout is done. I did Build and Burn Cardio Core, 27 minutes, heart rate 129 average, 161 max, 179 calories, 1,963 steps. I followed it with the Upper body workout, 29 minutes, heart rate average 104, max 140, 128 calories, 813 steps. Total time was 57 minutes, 257 calories.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hope everone had a nice Christmas my husband and myself did not get to go to the family festivities we ran fevers all day. I still have 101 this morning hoping it goes down to maybe get some upper body work in

Hope you all had a great Christmas. We had a nice one, can't believe it's already over. :( It gets built up from after Halloween to now and then it's over in a blink of an eye. It was a white Christmas here which is the first in quite a few years so that was nice.

Today I did one of my Cardio Coach mixes and it was a tough one. It had three challenges on it an by the time I got to the last challenge I was done. I did it, (5 - 1 minute sprints) but really had to slow down with the last two sprints. It was tough. I needed this after all the shit I ate this Christmas. Good Lord.

Workout was 60 minutes, ran 4.26 miles (woo hoo), burned 484 calories (Tm said 591) and went 8616 steps. Avg HR was 137 and Max was 190!!!

I then did the stretch from the Karen Voight Yoga Focus workout. Really needed that, my muscles are so tight again.

My DH got me a Fitbit Ionic for Christmas, it is sweet. Similar to the Blaze but has a lot more things on it. I just need to figure out how to use it all.

Roselyn - So sorry to her you and your DH are sick, that's awful. I hope you are better soon.

Jolie - Hope your back is feeling better.

Diane Sue - Nice going with your workouts during the weekend. I was actually going to take the week of Jan. 1st off but I think with 3 days off this past weekend and 3 days off this coming weekend I won't need to. I don't really feel like I need that much of a break anyways. So I plan on starting the Body Beast rotation again. Looking forward to it.

Have great workouts today!!!

Today I did Kelly's Build and Burn premix Kettlebell, Cardio, Lower tabata mix, 41 minutes, actual was 34 on the menu, but I stopped to put on my 1# gloves after the warm up and quickly wrote the info down once in awhile . I liked this one as well. It got in all of the lower moves except the Bridges. Calories burned was 264, heart rate average 117, max 146. We have lots of running to do today and I need to break open another can of pain and get more painting done.

Roselyn, I am sorry that you and your husband was sick through Christmas. There is so much of that going around.

Debbie, nice job with Cardio Coach today. That is cool that you got the Ionic. Does the bands from the Fit Bit fit it or do you have to get all new frames and bands ? I wondered this when I looked at them. The band and frame on it reminds me of a couple that I purchased for the Fit Bit on Amazon that has a bit more ventilation and a bit more tot he frame.

No workout for me today, too much stuff to clean up! I cant focus on anything until I get the clutter put away and the trash out ect. My Fitbit died yesterday, and the funny thing is, Debbie got a new one for Christmas! I am going to get one this week not sure if I will get the new Ionic or just the next level down. I really only use the calorie burn, steps and workout mode and heartrate. The Ionic looks fabulous but I might not spend the money since I wont use a lot of the apps. My back and neck still aren't 100% so I will probably need one more adjustment.

I feel really bloated from the holidays. I want to go on some type of cleanse at the beginning of the year.

Roselyn,
I hope you and your husband are feeling better soon!

Diane Sue, I just received your Christmas card today, thank you so much for sending one to me! You and your husband make a beautiful couple. I really like your hairstyle, it looks so good on you! I swear you look 30 years old!!! Nice job on the workout today.

Debbie, nice cardio workout today! I cant believe the holidays are just about over and it is almost 2018! Where does the time go? This coming year I want to change things up, not sure what I want to do but my workouts seem to bore me and I need something new. I am going to go on line and see what is out there that is new and different. The problem for me is, a lot of trainers are annoying that's why I stick with Cathe and Body Beast.

Have a wonderful day!

Jolie, I am sorry that your Fit Bit died. The Blaze has some fitness programs, but I have looked and not really tried them. They are Fit Star or something like that. It starts a clock and shows you the moves to do. I don't know about new and fun instructors. I pick up a few others here ant there, but have not felt too enthusiastic.

Today I did a workout I haven't done since 2013!! It was the Low Impact Total Body Trisets. I did the Chest, Shoulders, Triceps premix which was 30 minutes. Friday I will do the Back, Biceps and Abs premix. I really enjoyed this workout, it was fun and Cathe has some really unique moves in this one.

Triset #1
Soldier Plank Pushups - 16 reps/12 reps (these were tough)
Shoulder Incline Press - 12's/16 reps
Lying Triceps Extension on Ball - 12's/16 reps
Repeat, no rest

Triset #2
Cross-Over Leg Pushups - 16 reps (these were tougher!)
Incline Shoulder Arches - 8's/15 reps
Plank Kickbacks - 5#/8#/12 reps
Repeat, no rest

Triset #3
Alternate Chest Flyes - 15's/16 reps
External Rotation Lateral Raise - 8's/10 reps
Dive Bombers - 10 reps
Repeat, no rest

Workout was 33 minutes, burned 246 calories, Avg. HR 139, Max 176. That was a high calorie burn for me with this. Surprised to see my HR was a 176 at some point. Even my average HR seems higher than usual.

I also walked on my treadmill for 2 miles and I think I walked for 36 minutes. I got bored towards the end and did the 11 minute tabata workout from my Treadmill app. Fun stuff!!!

Diane Sue - I am trying to figure out what to do next week as well. I was going to do BB but remembered that you lift every day and the cardio is minimal. I don't want to stop my cardio and I never have much time to do anything once I'm done with the lifting. So I'm back to square one. If you find anything, let me know. NIce job on your workout yesterday!!

Jolie - Get the Ionic, it is AWESOME!!! :)

Roselyn - Hope you and your DH are better. Sucks to be sick.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Today was Intensity , 58 minutes, heart rate average 142, max 170, 5,132 steps, 409 calories. I wanted some yoga and stretching so did You Tube Sarah Beth 15 minutes energy yoga, 38 calories. I like her yoga, because I get some nice stretches out of it. It is not fast paced. Total time was 73 minutes, calories burned 447. I need to head to the store today and stock up a bit. Bad weather is in the forecast this weekend. Maybe it will drop off, but I do not want to be unprepared.

Debbie, I have been trying to get in a bit of daily cardio with my weight work and not do those hour and a half to two hour workouts that I used to do. I have other things I need to do and I am feeling it is more than necessary. Yes, that is one thing about Body Beast if done how it is set up. Not so much time for cardio. I hope I don't need another Fit Bit for awhile, but the Ionic looks like fun.

Today I did Biceps and Triceps, Superset style workout. I did 3 rounds of each superset, 12 reps with not rest and I burned 229 calories. Then I walked on my TM for 30 minutes uphill, 6.0 incline, 1.6 miles, 3.3 speed and burned 301 calories. Total calorie burn was 529. I got my Fitbit to start up today but it only lasted for a couple of hours.

Bicep Curls- 15# x 12 (3 rounds of this Superset)
Lying Ext.- 12# x 12

Hammer Curls- 15# x 12 ( 3 rounds)
Cross Body Ext- 10# x 12 Could go heavier next time

W Curls- 12# x 12 (3 rounds)
1 Arm Kickbacks- 8# x 12 Could go heavier next time

Preacher Curls- 12# x 12 (3 rounds)
Triceps Cable Pull Downs- 30# x 12

I might skip back this week since I am still not feeling good, I am so sore so I don't want to push it.

Debbie
, I want to get the Ionic Fitbit but I feel guilty spending that much money! I might go for it though, it looks awesome! Nice workout today.

Diane Sue, I agree on those long workouts besides walking. I have so much to do during the day I just don't have time for it anymore! I am going to try to do weights and some sort of cardio each day if I can or just walk on beautiful days. 1 hour is enough unless you just feel so good and want to go longer!

Roselyn, I hope you are feeling better.

Have a wonderful day!
