Got my TIMESAVER DVD

Nancy Grace! LOVE her! She is such a ballbuster!

Tami, it's not a double standard b/c whites haven't been discriminated against & aren't a minority. There have never been specific hetero pride parades or white entertainment TV b/c it wasn't needed, it already existed in a country where whites were the majority & therefore in control of virtually everything.

Whites have never been discriminated against? Never?

That's only true for some parts of the US. In the North and down along the Mississippi, for example, we'd be speaking French.

(And why wasn't a French version of the Eggland's brochure included, since Cathe sells to Canada as well?;))

Once STS cardio comes, if there are Eggland's Best coupons and promotional material included, I will burn them!

Oui, pourquoi pas???;):D

I really just don't see how the Timesaver DVD has anything to do with what is being discussed here. ;)

Me neither. So what you get a coupon, a cookbook, and a pamphlet written in spanish. Keep what you want throw away the rest and enjoy your new dvd.

If a person went to the store and bought something and it had these items inside I don't think it would bring half as much controversy as this dvd has brought to this thread.

With this much controversy Cathe might stop offering featured products at discounted prices. I sure hope that doesn't happen.

lol! Yes, Yes, Nancy Grace. She is like an angry leprechan!

Tami - I suggest you slowly back away from the Fox News Channel. (you've mentioned Hannity as a "source"). Expand your horizons a bit. I TOTALLY agree with you on the learning English thing, but for someone who was posting in another area about big government, we're now going to tell people what they can or can not put on their cars? What next - rating of bumper-stickers? Where do you draw the line. So he has a flag painted on his window. So? How did that harm you or anyone else? How do you feel about Southerners and their Union Jacks? Do you view those as problematic or just "foreign" flags?

Southerners fly the Union Jack? My DH (who is British) will be happy to learn that!

I may have misspoken on the name - it's the Confederate Flag, but I thought they had a nickname for it. Definitely not the same flag. My bad.

Well, you may have misspoken, but it did give us a chance to talk about Christian Bale and that's always a plus!

*thud*

American Psycho or not, he can shave in my vessel sink anytime!

Donna, it's an easy mistake to make, they're very similar. Here's an interesting fact for you: Georgia put the Confederate flag on its state flag in 1954. Hmmmmmmmmm.........

Tami, there are what's called in the legal world "protected classes" of whites who have been discriminated against (women, various religions, etc.), but I'm not aware of someone being discriminated against only b/c they're white. At least not in the US in modern history. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of it.

P.S. I really just copied that pic so we could look at it twice. ;)

I know they fly the "Rebel Flag." I was hoping I could talk my DH into moving down south by saying they flew the Union Jack. Darn!!

LOVED that demented movie (except for the killing the dog and trying to hurt the kitten parts). And living in NY and working on Wall Street, I totally have met guys just like that!! Too funny.

Rebel Flag - that's it!!

I have pride that I am of German heritage. But I have more pride that I am American. I don't go around flying the German flag. If I'm going to fly a German flag I should go to Germany. I'm in America. I should fly the American Flag. Wow. Just wow.

I have a German license plate that is displayed year round. I took it down right after 9/11 because I did not want my car scratched and replaced it with a U.S. flag; but for the past six years, I am displaying my German heritage again.

However, I do not get why they cater to the non-English speaking population. But then, I do not think that America has picked an official language yet, so any language could theoretically be the American language. If they ever decide to vote on an official language, Spanish might win out (or Russian, Chinese, Korean).

America is a melting pot and it always amazes me that some people think they are more American than others. Besides the Native Americans, there is no single race of American.

Huh, not sure where to start on this thread, but I can post another CB pic:

Anyway, I can tell you that after living overseas myself I came back to the U.S. with greater sympathy for immigrants here than ever before. I lived 2 years in the Netherlands and 2 years in the UK, and those were even places where the language barrier is minimal or non-existent. It could still feel very isolating to walk around the Netherlands and hear everyone speaking a language I could only partially understand (took lessons and got pretty good at 'shopping Dutch' but still missed a lot)--besides which they all towered over me. It was also scary being so far from home and family (other than the hubby) when bad things would happen (like a miscarriage or the London bombing). OK, now I'm rambling but the point is I feel great empathy for people who are far from their home for whatever reason and if they want to hang their flags I have no problem with it. We didn't hang a flag on our car (didn't even have a car in London) but we did have a big Texas flag hanging in our apartment. :p
