Getting Our Licks In!

Did all the normal routine things today: walked Ripken, exercised, went to work. Then I got the phone call: my girlfriend Janet died last night. She was home with her family and finally has reached the end of a terrible ordeal. I knew this was going to be the end result but it doesn't make feel any happier because I will not have my friend Janet anymore. I am happy that she is no longer in pain, but I am still sad. Not much else to say.

Oh Gawd... I'm so sorry to you and to her family. It is times like this that words can't describe how u feel. Or can any words I or anyone can say to make it better. I know how u might feel. I always will be left with questions it does seem so unfair. My family has been almost whipped out by this.
That is why I am doing the relay for life.

Race is May 18. It is 6.7 miles. I hope I can do it. I have it on FB so far no donations LOL wow I have such supportive friends on there.

Started to catch up on what everyone has been up to but decided I should go ahead and check in first & catch up later... Breckenridge was heavenly & indulgent! We stopped by Silverthorne at the Outlets where I splurged on a new Coach purse, an awesome Coach tote that I am using as my gym bag and some new shades! I got in a short personal session in Pilates on the equipment between clients on Friday, Saturday didn't do much, Sunday brought kids to Rec. center & I ran 3 miles on treadmill while they swam. Today is my crazy 3 class day and also did a lazy 39 minute pedal on stationary bike while I did emails.


Did I tell ya'll that I bought some cute outfits from Feelfitwear.com. The 'Cathe' outfit from the Turbo Bare workout in pink and in turquoise? I LOVE it! The Material is so soft and flattering, I also ordered a few more workout fits on line this morning that were on sale. So I have had my splurge and now it's time to reign it in again....:)

I had a great day. I taught this morning than went to our local hot springs and soaked for a few hours. Now I am at my mom's with my girls having dinner cooked, eaten and cleaned and homework done!

Didn't get much exercise but figure it all evens out....:eek:


hope everyone else is doing well. Michelle still thinking of you and your loss. Dear girl friends are hard to find and I know you must be grieving her.
 
Glad u had a great day! Dinner with mom sounds so wonderful I miss those days so much.
Well I tried a spin class.. loved it. I will go a couple of times before I buy the whole month. Make sure I don't just think I love it because its new you know.

Got my tv fixed. Free. Due to extended warrenty I bought that DH said I didn't need. LOL that is kinda funny.
Well I did a jog today. Hope everyone is good.
 
I'm HOME! No more painting for this girl. I'm throwing away my painting clothes for good. I'm DONE! Yea, finished painting every single room. Here are some photos but please, know that we are only about half done. We still need to put floors in now and curtains and paintings...

I'm so sorry for your loss Michelle. Even though we knew it was going to happen, sure doesn't make it any easier on you. I'm so sorry I can't be there for you, but I am in spirit and over cyberspace. (((((HUGS))))). I'm so sad for you my dear friend.

Laura, Great job on a great day for this mornings teaching class and then pamper ones self in the local hot springs. It must have been heaven. Enjoy the rest of the night with everything done. Whew!

ReneeP, I miss dinner with my Mom too. It's truly was very special, wasn't it? Great job on the spin class and so happy you enjoyed it. Also for today's jog.

Tonight was GS legs. Whew! You know, I think I might be getting sea sickness from the stability ball. I got nauseous again. It's only with the stability ball segment that I feel this sensation. Hmmmmm. I guess I can have eight shrimps after all. WooHoo!

The tag reads Ruby Sea. Looked on the internet and found that this is a cargo ship in Blyth, United Kingdom. It's now underway and the destination is Fowey and will arrive there on May 2nd (today). Cool uh? Fowey is a small town, civil parish and cargo port at the mouth of the River Fowey in South Cornwall, United Kingdom. You never know what you will find on the beach.

I found these teeny tiny flowers (daisy like) that close up during the night and opens during the day. They are so beautiful and in our driveway.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and words. I have known since January that my dear friend Janet was not going to be with us much longer. She was in alot of pain at the end and it is a blessing that she did not suffer any longer. I will always have her in my heart and I will always have those little nuggets of life that she shared and taught me--that is what is important.

My Joe has taken Ripken to the vet this morning. Time for his yearly checkup plus he has a growth on his eyelid that needs to be removed. It's very humid here this week so our walks are not as long. Yesterday was LIS-Low Impact Challenge and today swas STS total body. Off to Quantico shortly--been there every day this week, but that is okay.

Janie: your beach house looks wonderful. You guys are almost all set to just plop down, relax, and enjoy. All that hard work will bring you days of much happiness. I especially love the pictures of the beach. I could hear the waves on the shore all the way from Virginia.

Laura: ebay is having a coach outlet sale. I checked it out yesterday but the website was being persnickity. Will try again shortly.

ReneeP: you are so right that cancer can be devastating and so unfair.

Did 30/30 this morning and decided to take another photo lifting a 50# dumbbell for inner thighs. As you can see I have a long ways to go yet. I'm getting there though very slowly. The muscles in my arms are showing through.

Dang! Janie u r looking good! How long u been lifting and working out? I think cathe should have you on one of her videos. I think she should have you represent what you can achieve at any age! Have someone in there 20.. 30... 40... 50... and... 60. I think I'd b so inspired also have someone alittle chunky so we can say yes it is possible .. like to see someone who needs to lose a few b on her video and see as time goes by how they transform doing her videos. So neat I think!
 
This morning is Hot Tub time, then exercise and Hot Tub again. Will post again later tonight.

ReneeP, Been working out for a long time, but never really did it like this before. Thank you for the highest compliments a person in fitness could ever receive. I would love to be on Cathe's DVD's in a second. I'm not going to hold my breath though.:) Inspiring people is what really counts to me. Your ideas with different body types and a chunky person is a great idea to have on future Cathe DVD's. You should tell her so on "Ask Cathe" or "Suggestions For Cathe's Next Videos/DVDs".

How is your foot doing? Mentally, physically OK?

Ripken and I are started to scale back our walks a little. He loves the walks, but the humidity is not kind on the puppy dog. Took him a while to recover this morning, so I know I did the right thing cutting down to about 1 mile vice our regular 2 mile walk in the morning. While Ripken was recovering, I did Slide and Glide, cardio/ab/stretch premix. It's Friday and I am usually one tired pup on Fridays--but the workout felt good this morning.

Janie: you look FANTASTIC! Love the 50 pound weight. I do not know how much lower you want to go on the plie squat--are you striving for perpendicular? You are living proof that a body doesn't have to give up exercising hard and challenging themself just because you are older. SWEET.

ReneeP: I'm also interested in getting a foot update from you. What are you doing to prepare for the relay for life (did I get that right)?

I can't seem to get past 10 and 12 pounds on llifting. Really my joints get sore before my muscles do!
I'm only 42 .

Michelle I can actually picture ur dog panting while u do slide and glide. By the way I have slide And glide but never done it. I tried using the disk n other DVDs but it is hard to coordinate I am not good at it. So s&g is getting dust.

Well my foot still feels sore in a different way. I still can't jump that causes pain.
But getting ready for race I have been jogging .. I got up to. 4.5 miles. But I do but I do hurt some. So the next day ill go for spin or I tried AT today. That's all I know to do is keep up cardio best I can and try to enjoy the race. I am not fast so all my goal is to finish it. Illl b happy.

I have to ask has either of u had problem with ur kids? I mean I know u can't make there choices for them and its there life. Every one will say that even the children and they think it don't effect anyone but themselves. That isn't true! !! Ultimately if they get hurt it hurts The mom. If they r doing things that can put them in jail it hurts the mom if they get killed it is the mom it hurts. I just don't see how to let the worry go.

Did Gym Style chest and triceps. I started quivering during the exercise and still quivering right now:confused: That was a heck of a workout!

Michelle, Poor little Ripken. My heart goes out to him. He has such a good mamma. Great job on the walk with Ripken and S&G, cardio/ab/stretch prem. I go down perpendicular, just that Joey took the photo while I was going back up. Did that 10 times. Thank you so much for your support. You are SWEET.

ReneeP, I highly suggest you take calcium with a Vitamin D 3 times a day. Women start losing bone density about your age. This is what my doctor suggests to me. Also weight lifting. I know you can't do jumping and stuff like that right now, but that helps too. If you are going 4.5 miles to get ready for your race, you are doing great! Alternating stamina exercises is a great way to do it. When is the race? Sounds like something serious is happening to one of your children. You have The right as a mother to tell your children what you think of their decisions and how it will effect other people. Hope things calm down for you. (((((hugs))))).

Hi Janie... I want gym styles now LOL. Yes I have been diagnosed with osteopnea already. I was 37 when diagnosis happened I as n basic training when I got a stress fracture in my hip.so when I went to regular doc they did bone density test. He wanted me on fosimax but Ive heard after five years women will get broken Femurs. So he told me to get bit d and calcium I've been doing that for bout four years. Last Bone scan was a slight better density! Whoohooo LOL. And I have added weight lifting to my regemin as well. I don't enjoy it as much as I do cardio. I think that's y I like circuit workouts. Gives me cardio w the benifits of bone building. I want to do weight lifting but like I said it kills the joints. So I'm trying to lift heavier. I'm also taking cosimin for joints. Just started that.
Yes I've been dealing with my youngest on and off since he turned 18. He is 21 moved out at 18. He wants to not stay home cause he thinks r rules are to strict. But really he has habits that are bad and I wont allow here. So he'd rather live away. But I still worry. His life is going no where. I just wonder when did my boy loose who he really is or what he could be. Sad. I will pm you when I get to computer if u don't mind.
 
I love the weekend. I get to sleep in. Did a little work work todsay. Also cleaned house and of course walked the pup. Exercise was cardio supersets. Love those low intensity workouts.

ReneeP: I do not have children. I have a couple of nieces--the younger who is 16 and driving my older sister crazy. I love my neices but my patenting skills are nonexistent. Follow your heart-- you're the mom. Janie is wise and a mom. I defer to her wisdom but send ((((hugs)))). Us girls have got to stick together.
