Getting Our Licks In!

Rhythmic step this morning. So far, I'm enjoying Cathe's September rotation--nice mix of old and new workouts.

Janie: I love your new picture. Why can't my hair look as great as the hair that you do in your pictures? LOL! Great job continuing with the yoga. I'd love to join you for a walk on the beach. Maybe we can coordinate an east coast/west coast beach walk one day. There are many breeders but I'm sticking with Golden Dome. I've put alot of time into establishing a relationship with this breeder and getting to know her goldens. There are many really good golden retrievers in this part of the U.S. but I just have to be patient. Eventually, I will get my new pup.

Hi to Kathy, Laura, Cindy, and my lurking sister.
Michelle

XTRAIN legs (disc 5) this morning. Did the premix that includes the barre bonus. I really like this leg workout. Might be my favorite Cathe leg workout. Cathe throws a little bit of everything at you: standing leg work with weights, dixie cups, slide and glide discs, firewalkers, stability ball, and floor work. If you haven't done this one in a while, I highly recommend it. ;)

Hope everyone is having as beautiful a Sunday as we are.
Michelle

Rest day for me today. Will try and go for a walk on the beach once it cools down. Hot!

Michelle, Great job for doing Rhythmic step. Let's do coordinate a beach walk. Will be thinking of you. Speed walking, lunge walking...anything else we can think of? Sounds like fun. You are a patient woman, not like me. LOL

Michelle, Great job on Xtrain legs disc 5, premix including the barre bonus. For now I'm going to continue with my yoga, but this time will do Cathe Yoga's. I miss her! I would love to do the barre workouts as well. Totally need to have stronger legs.

Take care, thank you for the compliments on my drawing. YaHoo!

Janie

HIIT 30/30 and STS weights and plates ab circuits this morning. So ready for my rest day tomorrow.:)

Janie: so I'm trying to remember: you are still nursing your sore foot, correct? I'm thinking you could do some of Cathe's turbobarre and XTRAIN legs (disc 5) without putting too much strain on your foot. Stuff that might aggrevate it, just skip, right? And what about upper body strength? Are you nursing another injury that has you off the ropes for upper body or is it just cardio? You might also look into Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown which is a little more dynamic and gives you some cardio bursts (but with no impact). If I can talk DH into going to the Tides Inn for a few days in October, we'll get that coordinated beach walk in. I'll let you know.;)

Hi to Kathy, Cindy, Laura, and sister.
Michelle

Started a new more aggressive regime of exercising. Starting with Cathe Yoga tonight and a beach walk. Have it on paper, so for 2 weeks for sure I'll be busy getting my body in better shape. Will continue like that until I feel stronger and do harder workouts with her. I'm thinking by Thanksgiving I'll be able to do intermediate (hopefully some of the new DVD's Cathe might have out), then hopefully by New Years get down and SWEATY from there on. Don't want any more injuries, they suck. sigh

Michelle, Great job on 30/30 (that on is on my regime once a week) and for doing STS weights and plates ab circuits. Enjoy your rest day tomorrow. I still can't be on my foot longer than an hour and a half before it starts hurting again. Still gives me enough time do what I need on the beach and here at home. Turbobarrre is on my list of workouts and looking forward to doing them. Will be doing total body workouts and slit upper one day and lower the next day. Lots of low impact cardio, dancing, climber machine, walking fast on beach, step ups... at least every day except of Sun. Will indulge on that day when it comes to exercise and do nothing at all. LOL I'll need it. Love how you keep up with me and my routines/daily life. You are a good friend. Looking forward to the coordinated walk with you on the beach.

Take care,

Janie

Did yoga and walked the beach quickly (kinda sorta) with Rolly. One day down, and others for as long as I can. I'm feeling while walking on the beach lately, well, older. I feel it in my body. I'm using my body up, it happens. I guess at 63 would be feeling it by now.

Janie

This weekend I did some baking and lots of laundry, I've been going through the kids' clothes and that's a lot of work. I'm going to do a shortened P90X3 classic routine, breaking it down to 6 weeks instead of 3 months and I started last night. I'm feeling a few muscles this morning :)

Janie - Thank you for sharing your talent with us, that is a beautiful drawing! I need to get back into doing yoga once a week for some reason even though I love it I tend to forget about it.

Michelle - I think your patience will pay off, just think that your perfect puppy hasn't been created yet but it's coming soon. Did they find anything wrong with the mama?

Saturday was BB (Chest) + Express Dressed Up Drills combos 3 & 4. Didn't feel well on Saturday but did my workout anyway. Felt better on Sunday & did BB (Legs) + Rapid Fire #4 Sweat & abs premix. Monday night was BB (Arms). Sagi starts out with Progressive Sets for bicep curls. Thank goodness he alternates w/bis & tris. Definitely blows me away. Tonight is cardio & abs. I can't stand his cardio & abs as he stops right after doing a drill & does weight lifting. Why? We're already doing enough weight lifting. Will substitute ROKO premix #1. Love that one & will do Rapid Fire #3 abs.

Janie Sis: I'm 60 & I too have my aches & pains. Noticed a significant difference when I turned 59. Not what I used to be. You need to have your foot x-rayed. It isn't right that you can only stand on it for 1 1/2 hours. Something's wrong. I'm worried.

Michelle: What happened w/Zeiko & the pups? Did I miss your post? Will you be getting a pup in November? Your so good at doing Cathe's rotations all the time. Good job. Hope you get to go to Tides Inn in October.

Take care,
Kathy

Played guitar, walked the beach went to UFO group and played more guitar. I brought over my dirty dinner dishes to clean since it was unfinished object that needed to be done. No, I really did, but it was just for a joke. It was Joe's idea. LOL! This group is so much fun.

Cindy
, Oh, I like your idea of a shortened P90X3 routine down to 6 weeks. Let me know how that goes. I too need to do some baking and a little dusting and sweeping. LOL Congrats on the DOM's.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Sat. for BB chest and expreass dressed up drills combos 3 and 4. Glad you are feeling better and did BB legs and Rapid Fire 4 Sweat & abs premix on Sun. Also for Monday's BB arms. You are doing so well. I can only walk or walk fast on my foot for an hour and a half at one time. The rest of the day it's fine. It is getting better, truly. Thank you for your concern. You are sweet.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Last night I was tired so changed it up a bit. Did ROKO Timesaver #2 instead of #1 (Cardio Gloves + Heavy Bag). Its a little difficult to do the heavy bag w/out the bag. Plus I did Rapid Fire #3 ab section.

Janie Sis: I guess the meaning of UFO = Unfinished Object. LOL This group of yours must be hilarious. I can only imagine what all the other objects were. Its still a long recovery time for your foot. Did you have it looked at by a doctor?

Cindy: That sounds much more doable P90X3 for 6 weeks instead of 3 months. I too need to clean out my closet & donate some clothes. What did you bake?

Waves to Michelle, Renee & Laura.
Kathy

I did the Agility X workout last night and there are moves I don't like (tend to get my knees a little bit so I have to be careful) but I was dripping sweat by the end so that was good. Food was great, now to keep that going for a couple weeks so it's easier :) I am anxious for the new Hiit workouts by Cathe but in the mean time I feel like I need structure to be figured out for me - I'm not feeling creative or motivated with workouts - so I ordered the PiYo workouts and am going to do a Hybrid P90X3 and Piyo workout schedule to get me going again. Dave said he may join me but he's seeing a Physical Therapist right now to get his leg happy again with running so I'm not sure what will be OK for him to do.

We're sitting at 70-80 degrees for highs this week, I was not ready for the cold quite yet!

Kathy - You hit it hard! I'm so impressed with the weight you're able to handle :) I baked banana cookies and muffins, I try to keep muffins in the freezer so I have lunch options for the kids. They love muffins!

Janie - It's so nice to have such a great group of people, I love that you brought your dirty dishes and I bet it got quite a laugh! How is your foot?

Rest day yesterday, started the third week of Cathe's September rotation with Pyramid Lower Body this morning.

Janie: I love that you brought your dirty dishes to the UFO gathering. That is a good one. But did you wash them?

Cindy: you have a good plan for your workouts going forward. Hope your DH is able to join you. Let us know how you like PiYo. I think that Kathy purchased PiYo as well.

Kathy: love ROKO (either one). I get a choice of cardio tomorrow and that is one of my options, along with Step Blast. See how I feel in the morning. You did miss my puppy update. Seiko had two pups: one female, one male. The breeder is keeping the female and her son gets the male. So, Seiko was one pup short. Everything was good on the inside, so the breeder will do a back-to-back breeding with Seiko. She also has two other bitches that she will breed. So, I will continue to wait for the next set of litters--for a spring puppy--first pick male from any litter.

Good to hear that everyone is getting their licks in. Waves to Laura and sister.

Last night was BB Back & Sagi does an excellent job on this workout. Its 35 min. of back-to-back (pun intended) exercises. Left out doing any cardio. Tonight will be BB Shoulders + Cathe's Extended Stretch. I'm starting to feel stiff from the weather changing & all this heavy lifting. Starting to lose my flexibility.

Cindy: I'm excited for you to try PiYo. I've done Upper, Lower (which btw you'll have to add something else to this one; its not enough), Buns, Core, Sweat. Love these & Chalene is excellent w/giving you form pointers as well as leading you up to the advanced move. What's also helpful is she has a modifier. Balance is a challenge for me so the modifier came in very handy. I hope you love it as much as I do. Banana cookies & muffins yum! My DS wants me to bake my sweet potato brownies.

Michelle: Don't know how I missed that post of yours re Seiko's pups. I know how disappointed you must've felt but I'm sure the wait will be worth it when the time comes & spring is much better than winter for having a new pup anyway. I know you too love ROKO. Step Blast is one of my all time favorite step workouts of Cathe's. Its been ages since I've done this one.

Take care everyone,
kathy

Walked the beach with intermittent fast walking with Rolly. Internet was so slow couldn't get on it without having to wait literally an hour or so if it didn't expire first. Sigh and ugh. Will do a full body workout tonight, if I have time. Lot's going on today.

Kathy Sis, Great job onROKO Timesaver 2 and Rapid Fire 3 ab section. YaHoo! I'm, pretty sure since foot is feeling much better now than before, that the doctors won't find anything wrong with it. I think I just kept re-injuring it. Kept off it for some time now and it does feel so much better.

Cindy, Great job on the Agility X workout. Glad you know when to be careful. Good for you and for the sweating. I'm not ready for our Summer to end! Foot is much better now.

Michelle, Great job on Pyramid Lower Body this morning. When I got to UFO group with my dishes in the draining thingy, I asked the host if she had dish soap I could use. And started laughing right away, I just couldn't hold it in. Then didn't realize it but most of the people were already in the house so they didn't get to see what I did. But of course the host told the story and it got a big laugh. No, I didn't do the dishes there. LOL! Should have though! LOL!

kathy Sis, Great job on BB back. If you are feeling stiff it's time for the roller or stretching or yoga. You deserve it, you worked so hard. Good for you!

Take care everyone,

Janie

So peeved with myself. Just lost my post. UGH! Party Rockin Step 1 today. Love this workout.

Kathy: take time for stretching. That's the only way to combat losing your flexibility. I'm going on travel tomorrow through Wednesday of next week for work and I'm contemplating 5 days of yoga for this trip and then I'll pick up with the September rotation and finish it. The weight lifting workouts must be having a good effect. If you have STS, consider Cathe's STS stretch. I think that is a particularly good stretch when you are focusing on lifting weights.

Janie: what a pain regarding your internet connection. Did you try rebooting your connection? What kind of connection do you have at the beach house? I don't remember. Hope you are able to get your workout in today.

Hi to sister, Cindy, and Laura.
Michelle

Dave joined me for yoga last night and it felt great, I needed to do some stretching. Tonight is the Challenge which is all arms (pushups and pullups) plus I plan to start cleaning the house. This is our last night of leftovers, we had so many I didn't do a lot of cooking this week. PiYo shipped today :)

Janie - I would have given up on the internet connection also, it's so frustrating! Glad you got a nice walk in.

Kathy - I'm happy to hear you like PiYo, I'm excited for it and figure even if there's only a couple I really like it was a good price. I'll see what I think of Lower and if it's hard I'll know you're a beast ;)

Michelle - I hate losing posts! Party Rockin Step is one I need to purchase at some point, add it to my list!

Cindy

I did the Challenge last night and it had my arms wobbly :) Tonight is AgilityX and cleaning. Tomorrow I'm walking in the Fall Festival Parade with Lily and her cheer team so that should be fun. It's a great community event that it seems everyone shows up to :) Sunday we're off to see the IL's and get firewood so the weekend will go by quickly!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Cindy

Our son and wife with our grandson came visiting today and tomorrow. We walked the beach and had a great time. Tomorrow will watch the Sea-hawks play together.

Michelle, Great job on Party Rockin Step 1. I hate when I loose a post. So frustrating. We have Dish. Very frustrating when you live in the boonies in both places. But here near the ocean is even worse. Oh well, such is life with internet.

Cindy, Great job for the both of you on yoga and for you the next day on the Challenge (arms, pushups and pullups). How was walking in the Fall Festival Parade? Exciting about PyYO. Still need to check into that.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Hi everyone. I'm back in North Carolina at Fort Bragg. We drove down on Friday, went into the base yesterday and worked, had a meeting this morinng on base, and then have 3 long days left on Monday through Wednesday. I didn't do anything yesterday but started this morning with yoga relax. My body is thanking me for it.

Cindy: It's great that you are walking in the parade with your daughter. I have fond memories of community parades when I was growing up; Memorial day parades stand out in my mind when we lived in New York state and then Christmas parades in Virginia. Getting a load of wood--not so fond memories but we stacked alot of wood as teenagers since my parents heated our house with a wood stove. Talk about getting a house warm. We used to walk around in sleeveless shirts and shorts in the middle of winter, the house got that warm.

Janie: enjoy your time with your family.

Hi to Kathy, Laura, and sister.
Michelle

Rolly and I walked the beach and had a small bike ride later as well.

Michelle, Great job with yoga relax. You well deserved it.

Take care,

Janie
