Getting Our Licks In!

Ok I'm back:

Elle - welcome back - sounds like you had a restful staycation. SonyEReader? I got a Kindle for Christmas - what a shocker!! I haven't really tried to use it - just read some instructions on it. Frankly, I am rather old fashioned and told DH that I wasn't sure I didn't want to just hold a book - especially since nothing serious will happen to the book if I drop in the bathtub - but the Kindle would be destroyed!:p:rolleyes:

Laura - I loved what Santa got the girls - that Reindeer grooming kit was a tough one - I think he pulled it off. ;) Wow - you have really been putting tons of time out of doors and on the slopes - sounds great - lots of exercise and fun. You guys really take advantage of the winter weather. I think Eliza will work through her mental block out there on the slopes - it happens. Remind her that it isn't a competition and she is only out there to have fun.

Shadowpup - glad to see the desk is getting a good workout!!! I think it is a much better option than sitting still - especially since sitting can be so detrimental to the back!! Glad Clara is alright - driving on ice - scary. It happened to me a couple of times and I saw my life flash before my eyes. Now I'm petrified.

Janie - oh gee - the treats are now backfiring - I didn't think the dogs would end up out on your front porch. I'm with Joey - I think you should reward with praise instead of food from now on. A pat on the head and some kind words will go a long way. Try that for awhile. I don't think you should stop being friendly to them. I love the Firm Vol 3 - that's a good one too.

Michelle - all the decorations down - you amaze me. It takes me a long long time to put it up - not so long to take it down but more than a weekend. I'm glad that Ripken got you back home safe and sound - sure sounds as if he missed you. Any chance you can take him with you on trips to visit family?? How does he get along with cats??? ok here is a shoe report just for you: black Anne Klein pointy toe pumps. These are an old pair with some silver hardware on them and some white stitching for detail.

A quick hello to Renee & MicheleZ. Gotta go again!

Hi everyone, back again! I'll do my personals in segments - that seems to be working better than trying to do them all at once ...

Shoegal and Elle, so you both ended up with e-readers! Neat! Have to say, I absolutely love my Kindle. It goes everywhere with me. Shoegal, you might like yours more if you put it in a leather carrying case. That makes it feel more like a 'real' book. To me, anyway. There are so many free books or lowcost books online ... I ended up with the complete works of Sherlock Holmes for just a few dollars, when that went on sale. BTW, for Kindle anyway, you have to watch the versions you buy because some have better chaptering than others. That's especially useful for multi-book sets, so that you can jump to the individual book you want. Also, there are sites that help you discover what's on sale. Let me know how you like your Kindle ... but I'd keep it out of the bathtub :)

Elle, it will be fun to hear about your Sony too. We have talked about getting one for my DH because they (or maybe it is the Nook) can be used to borrow e-books from the library, which seems convenient. Very glad you had a nice stay-cation!

And now to save this one and do another ... I'm typing at the Trek Desk at a stride rate of 1.9mph, so it's getting easier to move along!

Wow, reading the posts on page 62 here shows all kinds of neat dog news!

Shoegal, another foster dog ... that is amazing. You have done *so much* for so many animals this past year. Do you ever hear about the earlier ones you placed, or is it better to just let go? Krista is lucky to be another one of yours. Let us know how things go with the housebreaking. Perhaps she is only frightened and out of the habit. PS thanks for the shoe report. I miss those!!!

Laura, thanks for posting pics of Misty. Now I have those and Grady's to look at. VERY cute story about the Reindeer care kit! That's one for the photo album, and to share when your daughters are grown. A shame about your Eliza and the slopes. Is she expecting too much of herself, or is it more that timid phase that some seem to go through? I agree with the others and with you, that she was brave to continue despite feeling frozen. Hopefully that is what she will remember about all of this. And too bad you are not closer or you could come fix us up with the next power failure :eek: I'm also a little worried about our plants with the cold and snow. Mostly it's the snow load this time. We are going to lose one of our nice conifers it appears, since a big willow nearby dumped a load of snow on it and it has tipped over. Can't do anything about it til the ground thaws. :(:(:( That will probably be too late :(:(:(

Janie, it's hard, isn't it, to find the right balance of interaction with other peoples' animals! You appear to have been adopted. Well, hopefully the no-treats will go over okay and Baby will not get aggressive in asking for hers. It would be nice if these dogs went back to being just casually friendly and spent more time home. Do you think they are lonesome? If so, just withholding treats won't stop them from following you.

Michelle, we *should* have bought a generator long since, but it always seemed that something else came up, or we'd have a deceptively mild winter. This year we need to STAY with our commitment, find out the rules on generators out here, and put one in place. Also, I like your idea of another thread, especially if you put a CHANGE note at the bottom of this one, as you did before, so we don't lose anyone :) Ripkin is still doing his part to work out with you, I see, too. What a dog!

MicheleZ, glad to hear you are doing better, and that you are 'joining' me on the treadmill! Am thinking of hunting up one of those online programs that lets a person take a hike, virtually speaking, as it would be kind of fun to walk through Middle Earth or something like that. Have you ever tried out the programs that let you do that sort of thing?

And hi to Renee - are you back to school this week, then?

And PS, thanks everyone for being so nice about my disappearing and then coming back. I really was a wits end as to how to find enough hours in the day for everything. Having to add all that physical therapy for the back injury and doing my best to help Clara was pitting my online posting time against my workout time, and my work time, ... not good. Having the ability to do two things at once is so freeing, and I love being able to come back 'home' to all of you and spend a little time chatting instead of just glancing at the last few posts the way I'd been doing so much of the fall.

Joey and I did TBS, because I was favoring my back. It feels really good tonight so I'm thinking a cardio tomorrow.

MicheleZ, It's nice feeling better isn't it? What workout did you do today? I'll try Rolly on the treadmill again, the last time he was frightened.

Elle, I'm so glad you had a nice staycation and was able to rest and enjoy the EReader. Great job on the yoga yesterday.

Shoegal, Thank for your encouragement about the dogs. They were on the porch today, and I didn't even go out to great them. If they are there tomorrow, I will pet them but with no treats.

Deborah, Yes, it's hard trying to find a right balance for my neighbors dogs. I'm hoping withholding the treats, will help with being friendly, but not overly friendly. I'm so happy you are back and able to spend time with us.

Have a nice evening everyone,

Janie

Didn't workout yesterday - had a project to do for the boss and the furnance needed a new fan motor . What makes me even more mad is that while the furnance was quiet last night - more quiet than it has been in years, it started making that funny noise again this morning. To boot, the guys that came into the house tracked mud all over my carpet and down my stairs so I spent 2 hours steam cleaning the stairs, etc. I was fit to be tied I tell you. I am a pretty laid back person but when I do get mad...I get MAD :mad::mad:. I gave both of them a "what for" and was walking around like a mad wet hen all afternoon. They were in socks the rest of their time at my house. One guy kept asking me if there was anything he could do to help me - that made me more mad...what is he going to do - hold the steam cleaner cord while I steam clean??? My house isn't super clean by any standards but that is completely inexcusable.

However, I did buy a subscription to Cathe's nutritional datbase program. Hubby went grocery shopping after work and got just about everything on the list! We are both looking forward to eating better. That was about the only bright side of my day yesterday :p. Even poor Grady didn't have much fun - he was in his kennel most of the afternoon while they were busy tracking mud in my house.....

Okay finally did Body Max 2...whew, I didn't jump around like Cathe and company, kept it low impact and man oh man I had to skip parts of the abs workout - that was just too rough for me :p

Last night I again attempted the Rebecca Small workout - Step Mechanics. I got through the first 2 combinations and began the third. I actually rewound a couple of times on those combinations so that I could get it all (and I did!!!) I felt more in control and I think I REALLY paid attention. So I was at it for awhile and thought I could pause there and try it again this week. Afterwards I did a Cathe Ab workout from her Ab Hits workout. It felt great. I am really looking forward to a week full of exercise. Not sure what I'll do tonight though.

MicheleZ - Body Max is a really great workout - I really like doing pre mixes from that workout. Too bad about the furnace and the rug!!! I don't blame you for being mad.

Today's workout was cardio and I did Power Max for 40 min. Getting in a routine nice and easy. Will do more once my body gets more acclimated.

MicheleA, Oh, you had a really bad day.:( I get those from time to time and it sure sucks. Wonder why people don't get it. Tracking in mud makes them look like idiots! Shame on them! Makes you wonder if their mother ever taught them that kind of stuff. It is inexcusable. OOOOh you are going to really enjoy Cathe's nutritional database. I hear really good things about it. I'm going out tomorrow to get healthy food. We had Jack Frost visit us for about a week now, he's finely moving on. Yeah! Great job on Body Max 2. I am very proud of you. I modify when I have to too.

Shoegal, Wonderful job on Step Mechanics and abs. Congratulations for getting through the whole workout. You are persistent, that's what I like about you.;) Rub some of that off on me, would ya?

Have a great evening everyone,

Janie

Well, back to school and busy again. Not so bad yet, but its getting back into the swing of things. And on top of all that doing STS a third time! The first mesocycle really takes it out of me, plus I've been putting a lot of extra effort into my karate. Pulled my left groin and right calf the other night while learning Universal 5. Stupid reverse spinning crescent kicks! UGH! I hate those things but at least theres a running, jump side kick in the kata to make up for that crescent kick. Have been taking Aleve, which helps, but I hate taking too much NASAIDS (pain reliever) but it works best and I think as long as I take it for muscle pain I just can't live with, I'll be okay. I can tolerate alot of pain but karate plus meso 1 is socking it to me.

Its great being back to school. Doing regular, developmental, age appropriate stuff with the kids. I didn't realize how monotonus those Christmas songs and actvities get.

The cats are getting along mostly. When Peppy behaves badly he is reprimanded, which he doesn't like much, but I think he's begginning to get the big picture. Tiki likes to gloat when Peppy gets fussed at. CATS! Behaving just like kids. Geesh! My big tabby, Reese, had back end issues last night. He loves to cuddle, came up on the bed, and smelled to high heaven. I then got out of bed and washed and groomed his back end. Not a happy cat but by midnight he was back doing his cuddle Kitty thing with me, and he sure did smell better!! LOL

I have often wondered if a Nook or Kindle would be something my Mom would like. What do you think, sister and friends? Perhaps a birthday or mother's day gift. Something to think about. My Mom loves to read, that is if she's not quilting.

Okay, gotta run. Have a great day, everybody!

~Renee

Shadowpup - nope never used a program like that. I live in the middle of the country and have lots of parks around so I get my scenery walks in that way :p.

The new furnace motor they put in on Monday, burned out yesterday . They are coming today to put in another motor. Good thing we have backup propane fireplaces - it was 13 degrees last night . I didn't get mad though. Getting a bad motor isn't their fault (unlike tracking mud all over my carpet). I bet given my temper over the carpet they thought I was going to blow a fuse about the motor - probably surprised them when I didn't. Like I said, I am really pretty laid back about most things. I understood that motors are sometimes bad from the factory. I didn't understand tracking mud all over my carpet....

I downloaded Cathe's rotation for the month and will follow most of it. I make substitutions for workouts I don't have. I am sore today from Body Max 2. Today is STS Total Body Isolation and Compound and 30 minute brisk walk.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Yesterday was my first day back at work and it was really busy.:( For the past two nights i have been doing Shiva Rea's Yogini DVD. This was the one i didn't really like but I wanted to give it a second chance.

On Monday i did the whole DVD as is. Since i don't use this one often, I still haven't memorized all the routines but it was a good workout doing all of the segments.

Yesterday I used the Yoga Matrix to switch the order of the sequences and I think it flowed better that way. I'm liking this DVD better now so i will include it in my rotation more.

Shadowpup: The Sony Reader does allow you to borrow books from the library but i haven't done that yet. I should look into that. I don't know how you can type posts and read on the treadmill! I have tried reading magazines on the treadmill and I just can't. I can watch TV and listen to music but not much else.

Shoegal: I was leary of e-readers for a long time since i like "real books" but I'm really loving this thing!

Janie: Hope your back is feeling better! I forgot to tell you i had received your Christmas card before Christmas...Thanks!

MicheleZ: I like the premixes on BM2. I only attempt the whole thing when i have a day off...it's really long! High Five to you on completeing a tough workout!

Renee: My mom loves to read and i actually bought her a Kobo EReader for Christmas. So far she isn't fully converted but i think she just needs time to get used to it. My mom isn't the most tech savvy person but i'm sure she will like it once she gets used to it.

Hi to Laura and Michelle!

Hi all,

I am a mile into the Trek desk today - experimenting with increasing my pace by a tenth of a mile per hour. Am at 1.5 now for posting. Such fun!!! They should make me a poster child for this thing :eek::eek: Assuming I keep it up :eek::eek: Yesterday I only did two miles altogether on the treadmill but there were many walking tasks in the house.

Two nights ago, I did Pyramid Up, the 'up only' premix, and skipped the abs. Last night I did Tracy's Cardio Kickbox Challenge, and added on 20 minutes of Qi Gong (by Holden). It feels to me as though I can get back to my more normal workout schedule now, as my back is behaving very nicely. All this extra walking and the reduction of sitting time really helps. Am also going back to my foam roller daily. Laura, I think it was Eric Cressey's book that had the up front section on these foam roller exercises - I still need to check that out for you. Anyway, today I'm going to see about doing STS Meso 3 squat rack legs unmodified, and I'll add the deadlifts back in at a significantly reduced weight. I have not been doing those since early October.
Personals next, horses are calling for their breakfast!!!

Hi Every healthy body!

Yesterday I had every intention of getting up early to do some cardio, but low and behold it didn't happen. I did teach my Pilates class (beginner) and than did the Wieght & Plates ab work from STS abs, man that is a good one!

I than had a deep tissue massage and the therapist told me not to exercise until my evening class, which is this evening, she says you are more prone to injury after deep tissue because the muscle are weakened. I was good and followed her advice all though I was itching to do some cardio.

Tonight is my Total Tone class and then I will either do a short HIIT or Cardio Coach on the Treadmill. Maybe the treadmill as it is less impactive.

Lots of personals to catch up on!
Shadowpup: The reindeer kit is certainly a memory to keep hold of! So adorable! I recall the book being about stretching and proper mechanics of movement and lifting?? Maybe I am combining things in my mind...I am pretty sure it was a book and a DVD and stretching was definitely a component of it...but then I know you were using the TRX for stretching for awhile so maybe I am confusing things.I hope your conifer makes it until the thaw! They are so lovely

Janie:there is something so comforting about an old tried and true favorite workout when we want to work out but want to baby ourselves a little for what ever reason...glad you did something and that your back is better. Any dog report? Did you stop the treats?

AMichelleZ;opps I think I mixed you up with the other Michelle awhile ago in a post! That is a bummer about the carpet! You probably manage your stress levels pretty good if most things don't get to you, but when they do you let people know it! It is better to let steam out than try to keep a cap on it, eventually it will blow and probably do more damage...I need to work on expressing my frustration in the moment. Body Max 2 just about killed me the other day when I did it for the first time! Although I really, really liked the Upper Body work in there for some reason...It made me want to get the original Body Max to add to my collection! Although I still have a lot of Cathe DVD's that I haven't tried when I got them because I was in the middle of a STS 6 1/2 month rotation...

Catchick: It is nice to be back into the routine of school isn't it? Take care of that groin! Such an important muscle for stabilizing all the kicks and jumps you are doing! I find Meso Cycle 1 the hardest for me as well. I was wondering if it was a body type thing?? If the lighter leaner, longer types preferred high rep workouts to heavy ones? I love Meso 3 the best!! And I am on the stronger stockier end of the spectrum? Maybe the Mesomorphs like the mid rep mid wieght... I am actually somewhere between a Mesomorph and a Endomorph in build

ElleP: ahh you always make me want to do more Yoga! I am so missing that in my life. I was actually going to look up some classes in Boulder today and try to get at least one class in a week! Can you hold me accountable for that?? Enjoy your new Sony book reader!

Shoegal: You wouldn't be you if you weren't always challenging yourself to learn more complicated step choreography! Are you still stepping barefoot? Remember how I told you months ago that you had converted my to a shoegal, well as much as a mountain version of a shoe girl that I can pull off anyway do to the difficult terrain, well now my closet is a mass mess of shoes that I can 't ever seem to organize! Sounds like the perfect gift your DH gave to his shoegal, my DH just says stop buying them and get rid of them if they don't fit in your closet!!LOL Anyway you could convert him as well???

So on the weight loss front I did manage to maintain m weight through the holidays, which is amazing since I exercised less and ate more. Maybe my metabolism is finally kicking into gear. I bought Jaclie Warner's book this is why you are fat and am finding it a good practical no nonsense approach to eating. I am incorporating her first 2 week recommendation and it seems to be working for me. I also ordered a few of her DVD"s the other day on line. Has anyone done her DVDS or heard reviews of them?

Hope this work day ends soon. :p:(

Last night - in the interest of doing a strength training workout - I did a premix entitled "Total Body Sculpt" from Lo Impact Circuit. Actually I found the push ups in that to be oh sooo hard and there were so many of them but I made it through. I don't know why I went ahead and did that instead of something like STS Total Body now that I think of it. I am going back to Step Mechanic tonight to try and master more choreography. I really enjoy Rebecca - she is Australian - so listening to her accent alone is entertaining.

Laura - Yep - LOVE the shoe boxes - it made a WORLD of difference. I am quite happy now with my closet. You can't make the point with men - WOMEN NEED SHOES!!! There are too many criteria that we need to adhere to in matching our clothing: Style, color, weather, Season, level of formality - it all makes a difference. Last night, I was watching What Not to Wear and Stacy & Clinton were trying to reform a 38 yr old woman who insisted on dressing like an 80 yr old - she wore the same pair of plain black shoes with everything. They told her she had just about the ugliest shoe collection they had ever seen and why wouldn't she want to have a little bit of fun with her shoes??? I've never heard of Jackie Warner but I'm going to look her up.

Elle - I'm sure i just need some time exploring all the things the Kindle can do - I'm usually resistent to change and hate new technology as a general rule. :p:eek: As I get older I'm sure I'll be more backwards. Took me a really really long time to get a cell phone. Still not sure why I need one. No kids to text!!!;) All of those yoga workouts sound so interesting - just their names alone sound cool .

MicheleZ - I'm not a good person for rotations - so I have to give you credit for trying one of Cathe's. How many of her DVDs do you have??? I think I would have gotten upset about the furnace burning out - don't need that hassle 2 days in a row. We have a wood stove in our house - so if something happens to the furnance - that always keeps it toasty warm.

Shadowpup - glad your back is behaving - I have been having to ice mine for the past couple of days - it really helps. I do have the leather cover with the light for my Kindle. Haven't actually read anything on there - trying to find the instructions on downloading a book - or a free one. I heard the classics are free. How do I do that???

Janie - Good job on Powermax - I think I've done that maybe one time. I will have to look at it again. I'm looking forward to getting my routine back too. Right now I'm looking at my Christmas decorations and fighting off the urge to put them all away. I think it will help getting things back to normal.

Renee - I can't speak for your mother - but mine always asks for the latest gadgets but then wants a tutorial on how to work everything. I can barely learn the stuff I have let alone figure out how to work hers. My pups are trying to figure out where they stand with each other now that Krista is in the house. Scout usually likes to dominate whoever is there - but I've seen her back down to Krista which is very unusual.

Ok - gotta go. Hope you all have a great day.

Joey has a cold so we did TBS. Surprise! We used heavier weight.

Renee, Getting in the nitty gritty of Karate. I have to agree with you on STS megacycle 1. I find being back to normal is so so so nice. Cats do have great personalities for sure. LOL:D If she is in a place where she can get satlelite reception, then I'm sure, since she is a reader, that would be a wonderful gift. I understand the first Kindle is the best, not the second one. Don't know the difference, our reception on satlelites suck. That's why we don't have a cell phone. Doesn't work here.

MichelZ, Oh no, the new furnace motor went out. Jeesh, you are having such bad luck lately. Hope things get better for ya soon. Did you do STS TB abd 30 min. brisk walk? Jan. rotation looks awesome.

Elle, Great job on the yoga for the last few days.

Deborah, Glad to see you like your Trek Desk so much. It's wonderful! Great job on Pyramid Up only premix and Tracy's Cardio Kickbox Challenge and Oi Gong. OOOOO, love the foam roller, it helps (hurts) so much:rolleyes:. Did you do STS Meso 3 squat rack today?

Laura, No dogs for awhile. Nothing to report yet on the dogs. I will not be giving them treats, we'll see how that goes. I heard good reviews on Jackie Warners DVD's. Let me know how you like them. What exercise did you do tonight? Great job on your class and the ab work.

Shoegal, Great job on the premix TBS from LIC. I understand about packing everything up. It will get things back to normal.;)

Janie

Wow I am reading all the posts guys but feel a little bad about not answering everyone all the time . Please know that if I don't address every one of you it doesn't mean I am not reading the posts.....

I only did the 30 minute brisk walk yesterday with Grady - they installed the second new motor so I had company for a while . I want to do Intensity (step only) and STS Total Body today. Don't know if I can survive those two but I will try! Was a little sore from Body Max 2 yesterday.

I have a lot of Cathe's videos - I actually have an excel spreadsheet of all the videos/downloads that I own. I have a nice wishlist going! I like downloading Cathe's rotations and I follow most of it but I also make modifications for workouts I don't have or if I am busy, etc. I really only use her rotation as a general guideline. If I don't have or don't want to do a certain cardio she has listed, I will get a different cardio for example. I have started buying downloads because I have an iPod Touch and love the ability to just download a workout and have it instantly and also be able to create my own workouts - it is really awesome! The only thing I could even see missing is the premixes - but I guess a person could make the premixes in the workout blender if they really wanted to.

Hi all,

Getting caught up again today - Trek'ing along :D Yesterday hit 2.8 miles. That's not much in one sense but it is 2.8 miles of extra movement while doing my usual internet and work stuff, instead of sitting for two hours :D It was a great day overall. The snow is packing down a little and that is just enough to be able to take the dogs for a walk. We haven't been able to get through the drifts for about a month and a half. It's no fun for anyone when the depth is two feet or more ... and I always worry about losing our older border collie in a snow drift (no joke, it nearly happened last winter, because she *cannot* jump out if she gets in too deep, and she's not the type to whine or bark for help. If I hadn't been watching as she disappeared we would have lost her :(:(:( ). But yesterday was good, no drifts deeper than a foot and a half on my woods trail, so we did a loop and had fun.

Also, I took my quarter horse Atreides out for awhile. For him we went a little different route, and did hit two-three foot drifts. Fortunately he's quite steady (that's why he was Mom's Riding Pony yesterday) and we got in twenty-ish minutes on the hills, and then a few minutes in the woods. Just enough to have fun, not enough to get cold, and let me assess the drifts. The other boys will have to wait until we have better conditions.

To cap it off, I did follow through and do STS Meso 3, squat racks. I modified in places. My back squats are right on task again. I did 4x8 of 166 pounds, which is right on target for Meso 3. My front squats are not as good. That position is more unstable so I cut the weights to just 66 pounds. that let me concentrate on going very low, holding my arms properly (am doing the cross-arm position), and did not pressure my back. For lunges I also kept it relatively light, right around 118. Maybe the most fun was starting up deadlifts again. Those felt great and almost easy at 100 pounds - but you will all be proud of me because I opted to stay with that, instead of pushing to where I 'should' have been (144). It has been October since I've done a true deadlift. I went ahead and did ten reps rather than eight for three sets, and then went with eight for the fourth. Today I feel pretty good though I did need my time time on the foam roller. I could feel the difference between my rehab workouts and my 'regular' workout last night ... despite the modifications, it was pretty tough and definitely felt tired afterwards.

MicheleZ, no worries on my part - you notice I'm in and out again when the world gets crazy! Most of what I did last year was Cathe, though like you I have a bunch. What I like most is having the STS workout sheets since those help me push hard, and it's an easy way to record individual weights. It would be wonderful if we could print them for each workout.

Janie, I thought of you and the dogs yesterday when we were visited by the neighbor's formerly feral kittie - it's an abandoned kitten that they sort of adopted, lives in their barn, but is becoming a favorite of their little daughter so probably will be a house cat soon. Clara had been feeding their animals during vacation and we think it just plain missed her company. It had to go a mile and cross a road through the snow to get to our house. NOT GOOD. I had to play the bad guy and insist that we not feed her, not pick her up and play with her, and just get her owners to pick her up. Felt horrible about leaving a cat in the snow even for a little while like that ... if we could have another cat I'd adopt her in a heartbeat, especially one that Clara likes so much, but I think told all of you here how unsettled our Rapper kittie is anyway? She would not accept a third cat on the place. I won't have her life disrupted for a kitten who after all does have a nice family and good home. We'd have catfights and no one would benefit, so I know I'm right. Still, horrible is the word since I couldn't explain to the kitten ... It perhaps feels like that for you when you can't feed/play with Baby as much now.

Great job on upping the weights, though sorry to hear Joey is ill. Yep, did do that squat rack last night! Fun to have all the encouragement here, helping each other stay accountable!

Shoegal, I'm so not looking forward to full time work starting again next week! It's been hard enough putting an hour or so a day in this week :eek::eek:

On your kindle, the setup will hopefully be easy. Buying books so easily is the only real 'downside' of owning one, since I do that so often now!!!!! There is a place under the Kindle Store on Amazon that will guide you through setup, and let me know if you can't find it since I get help walk you through. You might not need to go there depending on how you purchased it. I didn't even need that for mine - since I bought it for myself through my Amazon account, it came 'pre registered' for me on their site. To buy books, you can either go through your kindle and use the feature for Kindle store, but at first you will probably find it simpler to use the Amazon Kindle store. If you have registered your kindle the books will automatically download whenever you have wireless/3G on (whichever it is you use). There is a link on the Kindle store in the registration area (or maybe it is in setup, I'll check if you want) that points to where free books are. However, if you do a search on the Kindle store you can use the feature that sorts books by cost and then you will see the free/inexpensive ones listed first :)

Congrats for doing so well on your new step - we all had confidence you'd pick it up quickly! Very nice to know you're enjoying a new instructor, and since she has so many dvds you will have plenty to ask for on Valentine's day (the 'heart healthy holiday'!).
