Daytona Trippers

I just want to nap! Yesterday i did a slow jog, about 25 min. I thought I'd come back and get some wt work in but I did not. Today I did Gauntlet from Terminator. I used one riser and skipped the warm up and eased into the start and skipped stretch and that kept it to an hour long.

Lisa, i don't blame you for wanting your home back. you just had a short window where it was just you and hubs. Whatever you do at RT, make sure you don't knot up the first workout in! Jeesh, you'll be poolside drinking cocktails w/ umbrellas and missing all the fun!

Diana, I was 120/80 at doc yesterday. I run higher now than I used to.
Waves to Angela

Never made it here yesterday, I have a full house again as DS from KS is here and his GF. I did do a half-hearted version of Cathe Live cardio band blast with weights and walked around the Taste of Colorado.... we have never been and we weren't missing anything all these years :) Today, I walked the dogs 2.5 miles and then did 30 min of spinning, couldn't do more, my legs are tired! I do like the calorie burn I'm getting from spinning (when I put my all into it and not the half hearted attempt I did today!) Maybe after the holiday I can put a good effort to working out, it's hard to do when I get off schedule!

Jody, lol about poolside, I've found this massager that I've had really helps that left shoulder muscle loosen up when it tightens (from either overwork or over chilled), do I dare pack it for DBRT? DH said, "remember you only have 50 pounds for checked baggage) :)

Angela, for me, the damaGE happens when I continue bad habits, we'll make you get back on the plan!

DianA< I SAW YOU WORKOUT ON FB, wow!

Sorry for the caps above, I must get off computer!!!!!

Lisa, if you bring massager, I'm bringing blentec. : O

Diana, I'm afraid to ask about your workout. : O

Angela, I expect you will jump back into Cathe's with no problem.

I did KCM MU/L2BF total body pm, it was good. I subbed it for PH.

Crossposting and edit-

edit- i should ALWAYS have to balance check book and pay bills prior to shopping. I've got Butiyoga in my cart, labor day sale.....someone talk me out of the madness.

Hi Ladies,

I've had a super fantastic birthday today! I ordered a new bike computer/cadence & speed sensor thanks to my honey! I probably have to go for a ride next weekend to check it out.

Saturday was the mud run/obstacle course. Yesterday was a 5 mile run and STS disc 6-legs. My legs aren't nearly as sore as I was anticipating. This morning was STS disc 7-CSB and BR Day 3.

Lisa-it's probably nice to have DS home for a visit! Hopefully he's heading back to KS soon. When will your other DS's house be ready? Do you plan on checking your luggage for the RT? I'm thinking of just taking a carry on. Great job on your w/o's. I've used HR monitor for cardio w/o's for years and would feel naked without it.

Jody-nice job on your w/o's. What in the world is butiyoga??? I'll have to Google and see what you are up to.

Angela-enjoy your break and don't worry about it. We have to be able to enjoy our lives without regret. I'll have to check out the April rotation. I have to say I'm enjoying STS and BR right now.

Didn't make it here yesterday, had a nice lunch with just DH and the boys before DS headed back to KS. I did get in a walk for the dogs of 2.5 miles and then did 4DS bi/tri/shoulders, no problems from it, I got smart and lift only 1 arm at a time for biceps (the only way I can manage all the reps with even just 8 pounds without having neck issues), I figure I'd much rather lift 8 pounds 1 arm at a time then both arms at 5 pounds. Today decided I needed to hit it hard since I took it easy this holiday weekend so I did a 3.85 mile dog walk, 4DS Lower body weights, and then a 35 min spin. Love Cat Kom for spinning, she can get you moving, I had my HR up to 90% for the intervals!

Diana, I'm not sure I'm checking luggage, I guess I would like to try to get it in a carry on and hopefully some nice dude will help me get it in the overhead... sounds funny, a Cathelete needing help getting her suitcase into the overhead--- darn weak UB! I think since I got ticket via DH acct with miles I should get boarded in one of the first 2 groups, I think he is silver status. DS house is coming along, siding should be started this week, once they are ready to drywall it will be 60 days out, hoping they hear within 2-3 weeks that they are ready for pre-drywall inspection. Glad you had a good birthday, you must really be into biking with your new gadget!

Jody, good job on resisting your purchase.

Angela, I looked at the rotation, for some reason still these days I just can't be tied down to one. Dang, I'm really liking those spinning workouts and I hope it blasts 5 pounds before the RT!

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did Day 4 of the BR challenge. Tomorrow it will back to STS with Back & Triceps.

I'm hoping to hear back from my coach today. We haven't been able to connect on the project me. Hopefully I'll have something scheduled for this week. I think the next session starts on the 14th or 15th of the month.

Lisa-how great that you got to spend time with your DS's and DH. DH and I had a lovely dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. You should try it sometime. The food was magnificent! I'm only taking a carry on due to my experience coming home from the east....every time. On the 2007 Cathe RT, I got from NJ to NY where I had to spend the night in the airport due to cancellations due to weather. My luggage was sent ahead of me and was at DIA when I arrived a day later albeit soaking wet from being left out in the rain. Flying home from Maine, my flight was cancelled due to thunderstorms, same thing happened flying home from Georgia. I've never had an issue getting home from Florida, but will feel better keeping my luggage with me. If you are liking the spinning then just stick with it!!!

Hi Jody & Angela!

I've missed posting a few of my workouts. Today I've walked on beach for an hour. Yesterday i did KCM Bodyshop both workouts PM. Day before I did a walk I think or maybe that was KCM I posted.

Diana, I admire your workouts! If you can get everything you need w/o checking bags, I bet that is the way to go. I never had such experiences but better safe than sorry if you can avoid the hassle.

Angela, can you tell where you went? I'd send you some jump start into rotation energy but I don't have any!

Lisa, someone is likely to help you w/ carry on? I really don't give a crap at this point about wt and rd trip. It feels useless. For me, it's time to focus on something else.

Walked the dogs 4.35 miles and the did FT. The calories my HRM said I burned was waaaay lower than what the workout manager says. Kinda bummed, here I've been thinking I've been burning more than I have!

Angela, they changed the size of carry on's? Grrrr, we had bought some a few yrs ago and they were carry on size but with the wheels it was cumbersome getting it in the overhead. I always seem to take too much stuff, maybe with just workout clothes and shorts it will all fit (with my hairdryer--can't use the hotel ones and I want my hair to look good SOME of the time :)

Jody, I have to say that if I was working I would not have the wt loss success I am having. Before my neck went out I was in a wt loss mode from all the weight I gained while working. Even though I'd work out with Cathe, and ate reasonably I still gained, I blame it on stress and cortisol.

I don't want to ruin it, but I had thought it'd be cool to make something for us all to wear at the RT. You know how the last RT had coin belts? So, if I make something (and it turns out good) will you all wear it and we can all get our picks with CAthe with it on too? It's a headband--those darn headbands all slip off my head, but I found one on the internet that are pricey (sweaty bands, Google them), and then I found a DIY version. JUst got back from the store and I love what I picked out for us, I hope the project is a success. The ribbon I got for it is AWESOME. So what do you think?

Hi Ladies,

This morning was Disc 8, Back & Triceps. My Tri's are super sore from all the tricep pushups in the BR w/o yesterday! Tomorrow it will be the next BR w/o-it's ab focused. Not a huge calorie burner, but definitley worth it.

My coach contacted me and we are meeting tomorrow night at 6pm to discuss the project me program. Hope I can afford it. They have professional photogs that do before/during/after pics etc. The focus is still 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.

Jody-Nice w/o's! I'm jealous of your "walking on the beach". I think you should focus on the "Girls Weekend" at the RT and meeting all of us in person.;):) I just do what I can do. I don't schedule my rest days as my work week usually dicatates my days off. I especially do not like to rest on the weekends, that's the only time I can do cardio and weights on the same day.

Angela-what a fun trip! Sounds like you have gotten plenty of walking in on this trip. Enjoy the local cuisine, that's what traveling abroad is all about!

Lisa-the workout manager uses a static avg height/weight and severely overestimates my calories burned according to my HR monitor. I use my HR monitor as it contains my personal statistics-height/weight/age etc. Don't get too caught up in the numbers game. Steady state burns more calories at the time of exercise, HIIT burns lower amount of calories during exercise (because it's so much shorter) but continues burning fat long after the w/o. I'm totally game for a headband-just not pink/orange or red. Seriously, whatever you come up with will be super fun!

A 2.88 dog and DH walk, then did Cathe Live Step HIIT, was surprised that there were UB weights in that workout, since I wasn't sore or hurting from FT yesterday I continued and did the weight work.

The headband project is going pretty well. I prefer the look of 2 of them put together for me. I'll see about posting some pictures (even though I look like like poop in them). They do stay on! I think the velvet ribbon on the back is what helps it hold because when I take it off and on as I was making them, my loose hairs around my face got all frizzy from all the friction with the velvet. (but a good friction, not a pulling of hair like those headbands with sticky back does)

Here's the pics, 1: one headband (and it stays put!), 2: 2 headbands. 3: I'm ready to test them out on a workout. 4: the ribbon I have for what I was going to make us. OK, can't attach them here (too big), here is a link to my Google drive with them(hope it works): https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0Bzv00tGL1vwfQThmNmFkQWxZTGc&usp=sharing

Or try this one: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=A96C3CF1912F95CC!1087&authkey=!APYZc7O0vgXDifA&v=3&ithint=photo%2cjpeg

This is getting frustrating... my pictures are too big and I don't know this new surface windows machine very well to get it to work.

Hi Ladies,

This morning was BR day 5, which was abs/cardio circuit style. I also walked for 30 minutes at lunch. I've been parking far away and taking the stairs to the 3rd floor which is definitely helping me get to 10k steps. I still struggle getting my steps in on weight days.

My great niece had her baby yesterday at only 26 weeks. Baby Annabel weighs only 1lb 12 ounces. Please say some prayers for her.

Lisa-yay, DH got to join you on a walk!! He travels so much, that must be really difficult for you. The link isn't working for me at work, but I'll try it when I get home. I've never had very good luck with headbands staying on either. I wouldn't have thought of velvet, but it sounds like it should prevent it from slipping off. Let us know how it works out.

Angela-you must be traveling today. You may need a couple days to recover from the time differences.

Waving hi to Jody!

I did only 2 mile dog walk (and DH walk) and 55 min of spinning--this workout wasn't as fun because music was meh, and lots of light standing (or position 2 as the referred to it).

Diana, I posted another link in my previous post. If it doesn't work, then I'm too computer challenged on this surface windows 7 machine and I have better things to do than play on the computer. When I used to work (and work in the office) I always used the stairs up to the 3rd floor. Everything helps! But I mainly did it because I didn't like being in the elevator and everyone having to badge into the elevator and if you didn't and there was a spy on board you'd get in trouble for not badging into the elevator (badge reader was right by the floor buttons and when lots of people are getting on, it was a pain). Next week will be another DH gone week, he's excited about this trip as it's for education (cloud stuff).

Hi Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 9, only 3 discs left to finish of Meso 1. Meso 2 is my favorite and I'm looking forward to that.

I'm so tired today. Getting up at 5am really takes a toll by the time Friday rolls around....and this was a short week. I probably need to start going to bed earlier.

I have a package on my kitchen table but haven't had a chance to open it. I'm sure it's my new bike computer. Hopefully I can try that out this weekend!

RT countdown, T-33 days!!!

Lisa-glad you are enjoying most of your spin w/o's.;) Have you tried Cathe's spin w/o's? They are tough for me. I've done them at Paul Derda on the spin bikes. Neither of links are working for me at work. Let me try at home before you give up.

Hi Angela & Jody

I was planning to take it easy and just do LM step PM, I thought I should add a riser, so used 2 risers. OMG! Had to drop it down to 1 riser 1/2way thru. Then walked dogs 2.3 miles.

Diana/Jody, my flights #'s changed (DH got notification this morning), once it gets closer, I'll email you the details. It's going to be here before we know it!

Diana, how was your new toy? Cathe spin is tough and I don't enjoy it as much as these other spinning workouts. These are tougher, but I take a break when needed (as I see other in the class doing it too), and the lead trainer has a way of integrating the music with the moves and the motivation. I never would have thought of doing a pushup on the bike dropping chest down then go up and drop butt down all while spinning. She did it in perfect unison to the Lady Gaga music Applause.

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did STS Disc 10-CSB (pushup torture) and HIIT 40/20. 40/20 kicked my butt! Then I did day 7 of the Squat Challenge. The Squat Challenge consists of 5 different exercises, but I only do 3 of them and alternate which ones I do.

Next Saturday is the end of the 6 week weight loss challenge. My weight may be down a couple or so pounds, but the difference in the mirror is much more significant. They are also starting a new 10 week Men vs Women weight loss challenge on the 15th. I'm going to try to bribe my youngest son to do it with me. He can still work out at his gym and I can still workout at home.

I should probably open my box and start charging my new bike computer so I can give it a whirl tomorrow.

Lisa-is that LowMax??? I really like this w/o. Actually my disc got scratched and I ordered a new on-that's how much I like it. Whether you 1, 2, or even no risers, it doesn't matter as long as it's pushing you! Great Job! When I took a spinning, she did all kinds of exercises on the bike. I'll have to check my flights too.

Hi to Jody & Angela!

Diana, awesome as always on your workouts and congrats on the body changes.
Lisa, that spin class sounded fun! Are you making headbands for us?
Angela, I'd love to take your vacation!
I went to the beach on Fri I think and snorkeled and this morning (its sunday, right?) I did KCM YBB w/o 2. I did night shifts this week, I'm a little off.

Ah, finally a little warmer. I used to like the cool weather but not with these shoulder knots that form now when my muscles are too cold! Anyways, I walked dogs 3.5. miles then spinning for 60 min.

Jody, if I were you, I wouldn't just lose track of the days, I'd probably lose track of what year! You have one tough schedule! How far are you from the beach? Yes, the plan is to make us headbands. Right now I've put that project to the side for a couple reasons, I hope to pick it back up next week.

Diana, You are one patient lady, I'd have had that monitor on my bike that night. Yes, it was Lo Max, honestly not my fav. Congrats on the body comp changes, were they determined somehow or just from clothes/looks? Sometimes I feel like I got skinnier yet scale and tape measure doesn't reflect it.!! Or tape measure doesn't reflect it where I want it! Bust down, hips, eh, not so much, Grrrr! My mommy belly feels smaller, but then I didn't measure that:eek:

Hi ladies,

Just finished mowing the lawn, my favorite weekend chore!!! No, I'm not kidding! If you lived with 4 men you'd pick mowing the lawn over cleaning 3 bathrooms!

This morning I took the class at the new gym, then did STS disc 11-back & triceps, Day 7 Squat Challenge, and my own ab work on my ab machine w/20#'s.

I finally got all my filing done...and shredding. It was long overdue. I've also gone through my dresser and closet and am getting rid of more stuff! It's been a very productive weekend. I even went shopping yesterday and paid all the bills!:);):p:D

Lisa-Nice Workout!! Spinning is tough. They will take my stats on Saturday when I weigh in. I have flatter abs and can see muscle that I couldn't before. You can't really go just by scale weight, your measurements may be smaller but that isn't necessarily reflected on the scale. You must ride a lot more than I do, that's why I'm not so worried about it. I use endomondo or my garmin. The only thing the computer will provide that I don't have already is the cadence.

Jody-you are still rockin' the w/o's even with the night shifts!:);) I've thad to work 2 jobs several times in my life. I worked overnights at Kohl's and Target. I would work my normal day job M-F, then work overnights unloading trucks and stocking on Friday and Saturday nights. It was really tough on me during those times.

Angela-did you make it back???? We are all jealous of your vacation!

bbl

I totally wore myself out already today. Was up early so did Athlete Training before the dog walk and then walked 4.3 miles.

Angela, welcome back! It's take me a week to recover from all that jet lag! I'm sure you can whip yourself back into Cathe fighting shape before the RT. I'm sure it's hard letting someone go, the big computer company has created a management team that seems to be able to do all the dirty deeds!

Diana, lol about bathrooms, men and lawn mowing! I totally get it!
I feel so lazy compared to you, here you work, get in decent workouts and do the lawn and do all that organizing? My time will come, for now I'm concentrating on me, then once the house is mine again I have some major cleaning and organizing in store!
