Chest, Shoulders, Triceps

I still felt it in my tri's even on Wed, they were a still a bit tight feeling, and I did the workout Monday pm. I felt it least in my chest so I will be going heavier next time. My shoulders felt great, so I will stick with the weight I used for now. So I guess that means I'm building me some muscle somewhere in my body!!!

My first time through this one as well. The pushups for finishers are HARD. Seriously collapsed on the floor after the last one. I'm loving these heavy workouts. I haven't felt this weary after a workout since my first time through STS. I'm really, really committing to going heavy and hoping to be up to Cathe's weights soon!

During the front raises in this workout, Cathe starts at a 15 and then drops to 12. She says after the set that sometimes you go lighter and say to yourself I could have gone heavier again. In the background you see Jai vigorously shaking her head "no". Oh my gosh, I had a good laugh when I saw that! It's nice to know they struggle like we do!

Gosh I can't even do two push ups after the chest for finishers!! I did a lot better my first time of doing this workout I did more push-ups! Not sure what was wrong with me today but did maybe two and I thought I was gonna fall in face had to go on my knees and then couldn't do all of them same for my tricep dips! I felt let a total failure on it today!! Boo

Did anyone else think getting those weights above your head for a chest press is worth about 2 reps itself? I tried using dumbells for chest in this workout like cathe and I just couldn't hang! Next time it's a barbell and the tower. I feel like a whimp [emoji17]

Renee, I was the same way yesterday! I thought the second time was harder. Now I will say I normally work out in the afternoon after work, but since I'm off work this week, I've been working out in the morning. Maybe that has something to do with it? I guess I'll see when I go back to afternoons.

It was harder for me the second time as well, but I also increased my weight for the chest. I also use a barbell here so I can go a little heavier than with dumbbells. I just prefer a BB for chest presses, but I use DB for shoulder presses.

I did this one for the 1st time yesterday I lifted 5 to 10 lbs lighter than Cathe & crew but I sure feel it in my shoulders today. So I thought I would try RWH legs. Now I can ache on both ends. I do love these workouts, what a challange!

Katie lee you all rock matching Cathe in weight or being even five pounds less! Geez lol when she says I'm using 40 well I'm using 30!! Now I guess it depends but with the Chet I used 25 pound dumb bells and I even had to go back down to 20 pound dumb bells to finish the last set!! You girls go to 30 pound dumb bells and 40!? I didn't know they made them that heavy lol. It is my goal to match her I do have to say when I first started in push pull I was way lower then her to but I am happy to say I do match her in that dvd with weight and dare I say I do use heavier in biceps!? I never thought I'd want to lift more then 8 pounds! Now I'm lifting 15 pound bis in some of the workouts! I am going to catch up I hope!

Did this one for the 3rd time yesterday and do not have any DOMS today. I was also able to do 8 of the first round of push ups on my toes, then went to my knees for the last 7. I still cannot do the decline push ups using the step like Cathe does, so I modify like Brenda does. I'm also getting better at the tricep push up because I was able to do 13 of them. I feel so great and accomplished and strong. Thank you Cathe!!!

Fire medic that is awesome!! I love hearing that. I hope to leak out one more of each workout this week to see if I feel stronger that will be 3 times for me than. I will be out of commission for a while after next week I have upcoming hysterectomy surgery. I hate it will put me back to no workouts for 6 weeks! Not sure what to expect after that. Most say u can start exercising again at that point but I don't think they do Cathe workouts. I will have to listen to my body I guess!! In the mean time I love hearing all the progress! It will make me want to get better fast and back to work! I can already tell my arms are even more toned because of this series so imagine if I do it for three month rotation!! We all would be ready for anything then!

I did this one this morning, but did the "abs instead of finishers" premix. (Maybe I'm just trying to avoid pushups...). Somehow I thought there would be abs after each exercise (whenever the regular workout has finishers) but it was actually just at the end of each muscle group. I think next time I'll do the whole regular workout, then add abs. I went back to the main menu and added in the full stretch at the end. (The quick stretches after abs are just not enough for me, but I love stretching. It's my reward after a good workout.)

I did this yesterday with shoulders last premix. All I can say is yowza!!! I think this is Cathe's toughest series ever!!! LOVING THEM!!!!

[QUOTE="MomInVT, post: 2269401, member: 1560 Love the overhead presses into upright rows. Love the shoulder finishers. I'm usually not so excited by shoulder work, but I love the way the front delt work flows. Waiting to see how I feel about rear delts, as the relative weakness of my rear delts is kind of appalling (epaule-ing?), so I often dread working them. ;)

Lol Roz----Epaule:):)
Same here. I found it easy to work triceps for example.
Shoulders (especially mid and front--- Rear is not as epauling ;);) for me )are difficult to work for me. I would like to shape them properly and get them stronger.
This is on my to do list.
Stronger they get, less I would feel the assistance.
I use to feel assistance while doing push up before.

I love working rear delt with weight.
I love the feeling i get while working them.:):)
