Babies after 35?

My third baby is due in October, and I'll be 35 in January. My sister just had her second child in February and she'll be 40 in August.

Dani (dani21496)is 39 and expecting her 2nd child in July - it only took her a few months fo conceive! :)

While I think age can definitely be a factor in ability to conceive, it's definitely not a total roadblock. Don't give up - you still have time! :)

Yes, that's me!!! I'm 39 and it took me 3 months to conceive and the pregnancy is going great! I've passed all my screenings so far and we're expecting a boy in July!!! :) :)

I talked to my doctor at my last physical before becoming pregnant and told her that I wanted to try for a baby but I was concerned about my age. She told me that I should not be concrened at all about my age. She told me I was in excellent physical condition and that I still had plenty of time to try for a baby!!

:) :)

My oldest Sister was 36, my second oldest sister was 35, my SIL was 38. People have babies all the time after 35.

Yep! My 1st was at 33, my second at 35, and my 3rd "oops" was at 41 and I had no problems! I worked out 5-6 days a week (mostly Cathe) with few modifications (abs).

I had my second son at the age of 36 and there were no "heroic" measures. Both my sisters-in-law had their first sons at the age of 41. Again with no medical help.

1st at 35, second at 37, and 3rd at 40. One miscarriage between #2 and #3, but doc said it absolutely was not an age issue. NO problems with anything along the way. LOVED being preggers and if I'd started earlier would have had a bunch more. Good luck - and happy birthday.

I had my first at 32, 2nd at 36 and 3rd at 38.

they were all pretty much planned (3rd one wasn't exactly, but he was a happy surprise!), and I had no trouble conceiving any of them.

As the others said, at 38, I was considered "advanced maternal age" and they did more testing on me throughout my pregancy. But there were no issues ever.

Just to let you know, it is possible to become pregnant after 35. I had five children after ther age of 35. I had my laast baby at the age of 45. No, we did not use extreme measures, it just happened. Just to let you know I never had a hard time getting pregnant.

I had my first five before 35 and my last five after 35. So, I was just as fertile after 35 as I was before the age of 35. I hope this helps you!

I'm 34 now and plan to try conceiving after I run a marathon in Spetember. I will be 35 in November. If a doc tries to tell me I'm advanced maternal age, I might just have to deck him!

My mom had me when she was almost 39 and my dad was almost 50 lol

This was back in the late 60s and I turned out just fine thank you very much ;)

Charlene,

That was so funny.

I have a friend who just had her 4th baby--she had all of them after 35, with no heroic measures. She's 7 years older than I am (I only have 2 and I had them before 35) but she had an easier time both with conception and delivery than I did, so I'm skeptical of the magic age of 35. It never hurts to try (and trying can be fun).

I fell pregnant with my fourth aged 33, after trying for 5 months, unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in miscarraige, and my Fiance and I have been trying for over 2 years now (I'm 36 years old now), and absolutely nothing has happenned.

I don't think it is impossible to fall pregnant after 35, it just takes a lot longer to conceive.

I'm so sorry that happened. But, it doesn't take longer for everyone over 35. I got pregnant at age 38 in just 1 month after going off the pill, but had a miscarriage. I was on the pill for 10 years before stopping and got pregnant right away. I think the m/c was more about me not waiting long enough after going off the pill than my age.

I tried again at age 39 and it only took 3 months. Everything's good!
