My whole lower body is one big ache!

I don't know if this is the same thing, but a couple of years ago I suddenly had pain in my joints ALL the time. I finally went to the doctor - fearing something like fibromyalgia. Turns out I had a form of the flu (one of those foot-long names I don't recall!) This particular type of flu...

    Do you read Self-Help Books?

The few times I have bought or tried to read self-help books it seemed they all said the same thing. Most of it was either common sense or just plain drivel - expect a miracle kind of stuff. I think life is a lot more complicated than the "do this and you'll be fine" stuff these books offer.

Taking a walk down Cathe Memory-Lane

My first Cathe workouts were Step N Motion 1 and Mega Step. I got them when they first came out - can't believe it's been that long! I remember thinking "what is she doing" "she's trying to kill me" and "I'll never be able to do that". But it made me determined to try. Glad I stuck with it...

Push Pull - just don't feel satisfied

I have come to really like Push Pull over the past year. I thought that Supersets was longer, but when I timed it, you actually do more leg work in P&P! I think the trick is to use the heaviest weights you have. I don't think either is quite as hard as Muscle Endurance or Power Hour, etc. but...

Cathe workout you reach for most often

For cardio, Rhythmic Step and Step Blast For strength, Muscle Endurance But there are lots of others I love too - like Push and Pull, Step Works, MIS and on and on!!!!

    Please ban bad language

Nevermind. I'm sorry I brought it up. I thought it might matter to posters, but I guess not.

    Please ban bad language

I would like to clarify that I never suggested that any topics be banned from discussion. I requested that obsenities not be allowed. If I follow the suggestion that if I don't want to read it, don't read it - how does that work? By the time I read it, I HAVE read it. It's a shame that we live...

    Please ban bad language

I would like to request that those who use obsenities when they post be banned from this site. That is what is happening on a thread in the Open Discussions section. I find it very offensive and unnecessary. I know profanity is commonplace these days, but I think this should be one place we...

    whine!!!

Hi Catherine! I hope you feel better soon! When you start working out again, you'll be amazed at how quickly you get back to where you were! In the meantime, take care and drink fluids!

    Step question

Just a suggestion - before you buy another step, try the shorter one. Because of space limitations, that's all I have ever used at home. I used to work out at the gym using the longer step, and I honestly can't tell any difference in heart rate or effectiveness. Especially with Cathe's workouts...

    ??

Hi and welcome! SNM stands for Step N Motion - the name of Cathe's company.

    A "skinny" rant....

RE: A Another thought...I read an article recently by a cardiologist. He said he went to a cardiologist's conference and ran into another doctor he knew whom exclaimed how "thin" he was! The doctor was really shocked because he was a normal size. After they talked about, they decided that...

    WHAT IS ROCK BOTTOM?

It was one of Cathe's earliest workout tapes. She no longer offers it for sale.

    Healthy Eating 11/17/04

Hi Kathy! Can you tell me where you find praline pecan granola and what brand it is? I used to buy it at Wild Oats, and then they quit carrying it. I haven't been able to find it since, and I loved it! It's really good mixed with yogurt! Thanks!

Breakfast ideas for very busy days

I measure out my oat bran/oatmeal/wheat germ the night before in a microwave dish. Then in the morning I add water and pop it in the microwave. It's done by the time I finish drying my hair!

    10-degree tilt overuse

Hi! I've had a lot of episodes of back pain as well - from sitting at a computer, driving a lot, etc. In addition to all of the great stretches described here, I highly recommend a massage! A good massage therapist can help a lot in "getting out the knots" and helping relax the muscles. Hope...

    Would we know them?

I was just thinking about all my favorite exercise instructors - Cathe, Charlene Prickett, Mindy Mylrea, Kelli Roberts, etc. And then it occurred to me that I have never seen them in videos or in pictures in "regular" clothes! They are always in workout clothes! It made me wonder what kind of...

    Charlene Prickett Fans

I have Crazy for Step and it's great! It's really long - about 63 minutes, and it's fun all the way through! I would say it is intermediate/advanced, but you can always bump it up with more power. I had "Be Somebody" - it's two half-hour low impact workouts. They were fun but were really more...
