My whole lower body is one big ache!

I don't know if it's because the weather is finally getting really cold, but my knees and ankles are constantly hurting for the past week! I started taking glucosomine, putting creme on the joints, I took Tylenol Arthritis this morning. My achilles tendon hurts when I step on it the wrong way. Even the bones in my feet hurt today! My sneakers are New Balance and only 3 months old, so I don't really think it's their fault.

Should I go see my doctor, or just work through the pain. I did Step Blast last night and the third Blast at the end was almost too painful to get through (airborne jacks and the tuck). I don't have cardio on the schedule until Monday, so maybe a few days will make it better...

I keep telling myself that real athletes deal with this all the time and are able to function. I'm just afraid I'll go to the doctor and he'll tell me "no more impact aerobics". I can't think of a bigger hell than being doomed to a stationary bike! (which, BTW, I can't afford anyway)

I don't know if this is the same thing, but a couple of years ago I suddenly had pain in my joints ALL the time. I finally went to the doctor - fearing something like fibromyalgia. Turns out I had a form of the flu (one of those foot-long names I don't recall!) This particular type of flu settles in your joints! The doctor said it was viral so it wouldn't respond to antibiotics. I just had to wait it out and in a few weeks it went away. You might want to check with a doctor and see if that's it or if it's something else. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey - did you happen to get hives with that flu? I had something a few years back that totally stiffened up all my joints AND I got hives everywhere. That was at Christmas time about 11 years ago. I could hardly walk and couldn't bend my fingers.

I do have a cold right now, but feel relatively healthy. I think I'm due for a thyroid check pretty soon, so maybe I'll talk to him about my old lady legs then.

Donna, that sucks! I suggest some anti-inflamatories, a hot soak with a bottle of wine and maybe a little bell to ring when ever you want soemthing so that you can be waited on hand and foot! It sounds like you take it easy for the weekend. Hope you feel better soon!

Jes - you're so sweet to ask. Yes, I am feeling better. I didn't do any cardio on Friday or Sunday, and Saturday was my day off. So my joints got some needed rest. Today I did KPC and it didn't ache TOO bad. But, I've started taking Tylenol Arthritis, so that's helping a bit. Doesn't help that it's only 7 stinking degrees outside! For crying-out-loud, it's not supposed to get this cold until February!

Thanks again for asking! You made my day.:7
