    Fitness as a hobby

I love reading all of your stories. Fitness has been my hobby for over 20 years and I haven't met many people, face to face, who share my interest. The internet fitness forums are truly wonderful; I've actually found people who are like me!

    Heavy weight and S&H question....

LAST EDITED ON Sep-21-02 AT 02:00PM (Est)[p]Hi Janice. I'll answer the questions that I'm able to, which will eliminate any speculation on my part of what could be causing your knee pain; I am not qualified to even guess! I use much heavier weight for squatting in S&H than I do for the static...

Hmmm... LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-02 AT 01:00AM (Est)[p]Are you sure that this has nothing to do with the fact that you're going crazy? Just kidding :-wow :-rollen !!! I believe that there is a difference in the volume between the three workouts on that DVD. Interval Max is quieter, or at least...

Need Advice from the Educated Crowd!!!

I've had good results with a reasonable balance of strength and cardio work. It seems that when I forsake one for the other, the outcome is usually unimpressive. Of course I realize this is just my personal experience.

    About balls & tall bench

LAST EDITED ON Sep-16-02 AT 00:41AM (Est)[p]Hi Mariela. Stability balls and medicine balls are indeed two different things. Stability balls are large air inflated balls, also known as swiss balls. They come in two or three different diameters, the most popular sizes being 55cm and 65cm...

    Slow and Heavy Questions

Hi Buttercup. I use a squatting cage when I do S&H Legs (curling a 55# barbell is about my limit.) Usually, my barbell is loaded at 75# for S&H squats. I have continued to do the pre-exhaust exercises, but I use heavier weights than Cathe and her crew are using; 30#, so not super heavy. I could...

Is cardio 7 days a week too much?

Mariela, It sounds as though you are headed in the right direction. You are aware of the importance of a progressive strength training program, and you are taking the steps to incorporate this training into your routine. Very smart! Gradual changes are sometimes the best route to success...

Fitness goals for the fall and winter months?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-08-02 AT 03:40PM (Est)[p]I'm anxiously awaiting Fall and the cooler weather, which will allow me to run outside, in comfort. The Tennessee heat and humidity has me couped up indoors and I'm getting restless. Bring on Fall (by January I'll be whining about the cold weather)...

    Upper body workout

RE: Ha! I would suggest the Power Hour/Maximum Intensity Strength/Body Max DVD. All three of these workouts have excellent upper body strength work, and you'll have the option of mixing and matching with the DVD format. My personal favorite is Slow and Heavy, and with DVD you can pretty much...

    Switching big collection to DVD

RE: e-bay ? Hi Debbie. I didn't include pictures of the video covers in my listings. A few people emailed me to inquire about the condition of the videos/covers, although I was sure to include that information in the item description. I guess it couldn't hurt to include a picture, but it didn't...

    Switching big collection to DVD

RE: Donation Hi Diane. I'm sorry that it has taken me a couple of days to get back to you. Setting up an Ebay account is pretty painless. Most of the work will be in deciding what you want to sell, determining prices, and then listing your items. If you can organize all of the details on paper...
