    Butts and Guts...feedback please

Top three things I like about Butts & Guts: 1. Firewalkers! I love them. Not sure if they made my butt look better (I need to clean up my eating before physical changes will take place), but my hips/outer glutes feel stronger and 'tighter' after doing them. 2. The mix of...

    The Most Depressing Movie EVER?!?

Yes, that ending is so sad. And the way each of the four main stars curl up into a fetal position during the movie's climax, wow, just thinking about it gives me chills. Man, that movie is draining. But it's so well done.

    The Most Depressing Movie EVER?!?

ITA! RFAD is really hard to watch, but I've seen it several times because it's so darned good. I have never even tried drugs, but I am completely fascinated by many drug and/or alcohol related movies and TV shows (RFAD, Breaking Bad, Cocaine Cowboys, etc.). "The Mist" stayed with me for a...

Getting Ready for the Weekend Movie Recommendation Thread

True, true! I bawled soooo hard during that beautiful montage of their life together, I just meant that it is definitely lighter than a documentary about children with terminal illnesses ("My Own Flesh And Blood").

    The Most Depressing Movie EVER?!?

I agree, "The Wrester" was a really good movie. Have you guys seen "Beyond The Mat"? It's a wrestling documentary and one of its subjects, Jake the Snake, served as the 'inspiration, if you will, for the writer of "The Wrestler." It's very sad, but a good movie.

    The Most Depressing Movie EVER?!?

If we're talking about fiction, I agree wholeheartedly with the mention of "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas." The fiction movie that made me cry the most during and after is "Requiem For A Dream." For documentaries, I cry during almost all of them.

Getting Ready for the Weekend Movie Recommendation Thread

I highly recommend the entire 'Up' documentary series by Michael Apted. You can stream them (or rent them) through Netflix. They are so engrossing and very thought-provoking. I also recommend the documentary "My Own Flesh And Blood." And season one of "Breaking Bad." Season two comes out...

    RIP Mommy

Janie, that was a beautiful, beautiful post. I will take your words to heart (about hugging your loved ones tight) and go see mom and dad after work today. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story.

    Friday Fun!

Hi, Cathe! Hope you have a fun, relaxing weekend planned!! I just re-started STS (did the 6-month rotation last time, doing the 3-month rotation this time). I forgot the crazy DOMS that come with Meso 1!! But STS must work because I did not do much strength work after completing STS last...

    Butt kick modifier?

I would suggest starting with a 6" or 8" step. Cathe does these in 4-Day Split's Bootcamp using a 6" step. I would do them that way for awhile and then work up to a 12" step (like she uses in HiiT). And I would also suggest going at a slower tempo. This way, I think you'll be able to keep the...

Step N Motion 1 Video Clip is Now Up

What a great clip! Cathe looks so dang cute, and you could see from the beginning that she just has a gift for instructing. Her form was perfect even then! My oldest Cathe workouts are those on the Classics DVD but I just have to order this one. I wonder (hope) if they'll release a...

I have her original Eat Clean book (but not the cook book), but I will check to see if the porridge recipe is in there because the first book does have some recipes. Thanks for the suggestion!

A complete Low Impact series please please please

Hi! I typically don't 'jump' at low impact (pun intended) because I am very fortunate in that my joints and feet can handle lots of high impact. That said, I thoroughly enjoy Low Max, Low Impact Circuit, 4-Day Split Lower Intensity Step, and the Shock Cardio MMA Workouts. So, I guess what I'm...

    chapters/mix & match?

Cathe's Body Blast series (KP&C, Legs & Glutes, SJ&P, Step Blast, Push/Pull, and Supersets) lets you do that. Those DVDs have a feature called 'Workout Blender' which lets you select up to six chapters that you can play in any order. I believe High Step Training Advanced may also have this...

Approximately How Long Are The Workouts?

Krystal: Check out this super helpful PDF from Cathe's Workout Manager. It lists all of STS's discs names and numbers, and workout lengths. http://www.thecathenation.com/tutorials/PDF/STS_Disc_Listing.pdf

    chapters/mix & match?

The chapter menu will play the workout from the chapter point you choose. For example, I often do the cardio and abs from Body Max 2 so after the cardio portion is over, I will go to the chapter menu and start it from the abs and it will play the abs and stretch (which is the next chapter)...
