chapters/mix & match?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these, I've just been using total workouts or premixes so far and I really just looked at the chapters a few times for specific things, is there a way to use mix & match to play different parts sequenced one after the other?

thanks in advance:)

Linda

The chapter menu will play the workout from the chapter point you choose. For example, I often do the cardio and abs from Body Max 2 so after the cardio portion is over, I will go to the chapter menu and start it from the abs and it will play the abs and stretch (which is the next chapter).

The mix and match menu will play the chapter you choose but once that chapter is over, it will take you back to the mix and match menu. So then you can choose another chapter and so on.

Thanks JillyBean, I'll have to check that out.

There's this feature in my strong Knees DVD that lets you pick off the menu any parts and after your done picking them it will play them sequentially one right after the other, I thought maybe I could program my dvd player to do that. Maybe that would be a cool feature for future Cathe DVDs?

Cathe's Body Blast series (KP&C, Legs & Glutes, SJ&P, Step Blast, Push/Pull, and Supersets) lets you do that. Those DVDs have a feature called 'Workout Blender' which lets you select up to six chapters that you can play in any order. I believe High Step Training Advanced may also have this feature, but don't quote me on that. For some reason, my DVD player doesn't always work with this feature so I never use it - I find the mix and match feature works as good if not better because with the mix and match menu you can select as many chapters as you want.

As for programming a DVD to play in the order you want without having to go to a menu in between chapter points, lots of DVDs have a 'programming' feature on their remotes. I tried this once but was so time consuming and tedious that I gave up. Because so many of Cathe's DVDs feature the mix and match menu and/or premixes, I find I get a decent mix that way.

that means I'd have to read the intructions, one thing boyfriend & I have in common, and laugh about, neither one of us reads the intructions...it's tons more fun figuring it out on the fly, except when you actually want to use a certain feature.

I mostly use the premixes or the entire workout, I saw the blender on the timesaver but I've not quite incorporated that into my routine yet, just thought I may want to use the mix & match....now where is that manual?

thank you
Linda
