What has STS taught you so far?

jcm

Cathlete
I'm in week two of Meso 2 and was just curious if/what everyone else has learned so far. It's taught me A LOT! Like ...

1. It is possible to workout 6 days a week and ejoy it :)
2. Focusing on a couple body parts at a time, each week, is really effective
3. I was NOT lifting heavy enough
4. Tri-sets, back off sets, double wave loads, 21s, - all that good stuff!
5. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE BEAUTY OF BAND WORK :) :)

JCM:

1. Ditto...I used to DREAD working out. STS has adjusted my attitude.
2. I can lift very HEAVY with good form. :)
3. It is possible to complete a rigorous lifting program with my DH
4. As a team, we have learned that sharing weights is possible, LOL!
5. Finally I have learned that following a rotation and tracking my results can be done.

For me (in addtion to some of the one's you guys mentioned):

1) I've always known muscle confusion is good but well planned muscle confusion is A-mazing.
2) I probably should start eating something before my AM workout (at least a few bites of a banana or fruit juice).
3) Strength gains can occur much faster then I thought possible.
4) I Love Cathe even more now! :D
5) How could I forget... Rest weeks are good for you!

3. I like Ab work - who knew
4. Rest week is gooooooood stuff:p:p:p:p looking forward to next week
5. I have more determination than I thought. Yes, I CAN lift that, DO it!!!
6. Heating pads and stretching are my friends

Nan

I just thought of more during my run!

- paper plates are good for more than eating off of!
- started using Stretch Max and I love it!
-I'm actually enjoying leg work. I used to hate hate hate it.

Also in addition to those already posted...All good stuff;)

1 Muscle endurance is helping improve my cardio endurance!
2 It's easier to get up and workout at 4am when you have something to look forward to.
3 I do better training with Cathe than I do on my own...I always thought I was doing pretty good but since STS, now I know I can do better:D

1. I've learned that I have a not-so-great relationship with paper plates.
2. Whey protein and banana or apple have made a HUGE difference before I workout.
3. I've learned that yes, it is possible to improve my leg strength with good training.
4. The very noticable strength gains are impressive.
5. Working out can be fun and not get boring.

Hey jcm, errrrr ...six days a week? Well, I guess doing STS three days and jogging one day, would mean that I am working out 4 days a week. I would really be pooped doing six. That is making me tired just thinking about it.

Number 6 made me LOL:)
1. DOMS can be your friend
2. What 3 and 5 pound weights????:)
3. I can do chin ups and pull ups!!!!!
that's all I can come up with now... Kay

1) hands down that I was underestimating how heavy I could lift.
2) I love band work even more than I did before.
3) I love the paper plate work. It's evil, but works SO well.
4) That I have never looked so forward to taking a rest from weights before.
5) That I need to drop the mindset that there is a limit to what my body can do.

Well,

1. I am so much stronger than I thought I was.
2. I love to hurt.
3. I can get pass the intense burning while doing leg work.
4. I really had underestimated my overall fitness abilities.
5. I prefer lifting weights than doing cardio...which SURPRISED the heck out of me!!!!

All of the above plus:
And this is a big one...no matter how old you are..I'm 55...you will see results. Awesome results!!! I'm amazed. Hubby and coworkers are noticing. WOOHOO!!!!

I'm so not into girl crushes but I have to say Cathe is mine!!!:D:D:D

That I can and should be lifting heavier weights.

That I love weight training. I always liked it but I get excited about weight training days - I have not dreaded doing any of these workouts. I am sad when it is over.

That I prefer to eat clean. For some reason I am eating cleaner and not minding.

That it is not only ok to rest but you should.

I love these workouts. I hope I love STS cardio as much.

Jo

1) That I'm stronger than I realized, but can do more.
2) That I WAY prefer weight lifting to cardio (although I knew this already).
3) That I'm still a long way from where I want to be (I suck basically)
4) That I'm running out of weights and equipment space. (dilemma)
5) That I love STS but am beginning to get frustrated because I feel I will never be where I want to be.

1. Consistent Yoga practice is a great compliment to STS ~ especially after leg day!

2. There is not chair worth sitting on when DOMS set in after an STS leg workout.

1. I can lift much heavier weights than I thought.

2. There is a huge discrepancy in my relative upper body and lower body strength (more than average).

3. I need a squat rack!

4. Paper plates can really add a lot to a work out.

LOL at #2!! SO TRUE!

I've learned that confusing your muscles WORKS! and it works GOOD and FAST!

I've always enjoyed working out, but now I absolutely LOVE IT!

That I'll ALWAYS hate my triceps and want to improve them (hoping to still improve there!)

That's it's OK to cry(at least when no one is around,LOL). Some of those workouts were killers. I had tears, doubting if I could finish.

1. A new found appreciation of paper plates- I never thought that i would dread seeing a paper plate
2. I can get an excellent workout in one hour
3. A new found love of stretching. I actually use Stretch max now.
4. My husband and I can actually work out together and have fun!
5. I can get an excellent leg workout without going to the gym!

All of the above are good answers. The things that STS has taught me are:
1. That 20lb dumbbell doesnt seem to be heavy as before
2. I can actual complete a rotation, this is the longest rotation for me
3. Consistency with working out and eating clean go hand to hand.
4. I have to up my protein intake, I now enjoy eggs and protein shakes (not together).
5. and finally I really do have muscle under my fat, I have definition in my shoulders, I guess I have to shred the fat and build the muscle.

I am so loving this system.
