...and I DID IT!!!! :D :D :D Did I fool ya? ;)

It was a GREAT run - the weather was absolutely perfect, the course was flat, and I felt great! I couldn't have asked for a better first post-injury race. I came in around 34:03, which is quite a bit better than my predicted 12 minute mile pace. I'll admit, I really pushed myself for the last mile. There was this other chick who kept running in front of me and I really wanted to beat her. :p And I did - so you know what that means? I didn't come in LAST! :D

Here are some pictures! :)

At about Mile 1.5 - look, I'm beating a one-legged guy on crutches! :p

Hey Jess - the race was in Peoria. Do you live near Springfield? That's not too far from here at all. I belong to the Illinois Valley Striders, and they have a really good race calendar with events from all over Central Illinois. If you know of any races that aren't on here, definitely let me know about them! :)

Gayle, that's not a smile. That's a near-death grimace. :p ;) I believe I was actually yelling "I'm going to die!" at that point of the race. ;)

WONDERFUL news Em! You look amazing, especially at a time you have been injured. You must be flying so high. LOVED the man on crutches...now, THAT is very inspiring too! CONGRATS!!!!!!
