Weight Watchers - 4th week of February

I ate alot for dinner but I'm still at my DP! Yay!

B--Jimmy Dean D-Lite breakfast bowl (6)
L--raw veggies with dip and a Smart Ones key lime pie dessert (7)
D--hamburger with lettuce, onion, pickles and mushrooms + small size fries (15)

DP=28

Workout was feeling a bit sluggish...did 35 min on the treadmill of 3 min jog/2 min walk intervals...I ran pretty slowly. Lack of sleep definitely made this workout seem tougher than it was! (2 AP....though I decided I'm really not counting AP's since I dont get many points per workout anyways).

Tomorrow is weigh-in I'm hoping to break even.

Jennifer, what seasoning do you use on your grilled salmon? How many PPs for the dark chocolate?

I'm kind of a purist when it comes to grilling my meats, so I just stick to salt and pepper so I can really taste the flavor of the meat :). Occasionally, I'll also add a bit of agave nectar to the salmon to create a bit of a glaze, but mostly I stick to salt and pepper.

The dark chocolate varies depending on the kind of chocolate used, but Trader Joe's sells these 65% dark chocolate (I wish it came in higher percentage--my preference is 72% or even 85%, mmm) discs, called "chocolate callets." They're 2 discs for 1 point. 2 discs is enough to create a nice fondue for the strawberries (sometimes I'll also throw some bananas in there, for variety).

If I have some points left, I also melt a teaspoon of Nutella for some hazelnut flavor, but I use more of the dark chocolate because I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate (to say the least LOL) and unfortunately, Nutella uses milk chocolate. I love the hazelnut flavor though, mmm!! Maybe someday my dream will come true and they will come out with a dark chocolate Nutella. I think I might just go into spontaneous combustion LOL!

Hi everyone.

I'm back to report a small, but successful behavioral change for me...:D

We went out to dinner tonight. I had a 6oz sirloin with 1/2 of a plain baked potato. And although that is within the points I had remaining for the day, this restaurant has buckets of peanuts on every table. I ate some and I didn't keep track of how many I was eating. It probably wasn't as bad as I think it was, but I still felt like I went off track and "cheated". So when I got home I started trying to convince myself that since I already "cheated", I might as well indulge in some girl scout cookies. That is my old way of thinking... Thankfully, my new way of thinking kicked in in the nick of time. I changed my clothes and got my Step Moves on. 44 minutes of smiling sweatiness!!! I feel fantastic.

I just wish I could get over that "cheated" feeling when my menu gets changed up at the last minute even though I stay in control. At least I didn't give in to my old, bad behaviors. I'm pretty pleased with myself that I turned that around instead of indulging and making myself feel even worse even though I'm not sure I really have anything to feel bad about.

Okay, I'm done babbling now...:p

Good for you!! I somehow missed the Girl Scout cookies this year thank goodness! I need to have the same attitude. I have been planning my meals ahead of time like you and Shereta suggested....I just say the heck with it, I want chips instead of veggies and I binge on them. I do know that for me alot of it is stress eating as I'm going thru alot of personal and work stuff right now. I just have to keep telling myself that my health is important and not to let food control my emotions. Easier said than done, but not impossible.

Weigh in day....lost a bit from last week, but I just weighed myself like 3 days ago, so holding steady from there. I dont want to get too discouraged with this plateau b/c I'm still making very steady albeit slow progress. Today marks then end of week 6 of WW for me with a total weight loss of 5.6 lbs.....i think I got bummed b/c 3-4 of that was the first 2 weeks!

I'm still committed to making this work!

B--lower sugar oatmeal with almonds....4 points

The rest....not sure yet...I really need to get to the grocery store!

Stacy, congrats. Steady progress is the best progress. KIP

Melissa, way to go on that health conscious choice of nixing the Girl Scouts and getting into Step Moves. high five to you.

Today's workout was High Reps. I earned 12 APs. I was huffing the whole time. I felt good - no know - energized, focused. i was making the ugly face. I wish I could have taped it. I'm feeling it in my hammies and shoulders. I love it.

Hey Shereta - I did High Reps today too! I really enjoy that workout, and today was the first day I didn't grimace when we did the partial shoulder presses. Man those hurt sometimes! My legs are really feeling the workout this morning, plus I'm hungry!!

Have a great day everyone.

Melissa: That is a success! That is one of my down falls as well. Once I slip I just throw in the towel for the rest of the day, heck soemtimes the whole week!LOL!

MelanieC: I don't have High Reps. I should see if I can get it in a trade. How much is it like STS total body? I really like this one and my hamstrings ache for a few days after it.

Hi Shereta,Jennifermaria, Stacy and anyone I missed.

No workout for me this morning. I was feeling a bit achey.

Yesterday was my weigh in day. I stepped on the scale at least 3 times. I could not believe I actually lost 1lb.!

Had chocolate cravings yesterday so I made sugar free chocolate pudding.Yum!

I'll be back later to report my menu. I need to bring DS to game stop so he can spend his Bday money.

Elaine, HR is nothing like STS TB. STS TB is heavy weight. HR is medium weight with varied tempo changes. They both burn. I like to do one once a week and then the other twice a week with cardio mixed in the middle. Like this:
Cardio, HR, Cardio, hr, cardio, sts tb and the next week
cardio, STS tb, cardio, STS tb, cardio, HR

STS TB has the best music in my opinion. They both keep the dvd rolling while they make equipment and weight changes. I love this feature. I've also caught a few of them making faces while pushing into last sets. They're both fun but hard workouts.

Hi everyone!

Quick post for me. Busy day. I'm off tomorrow and Friday (yay!) so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row so I can get outta here...:D

Menu for day (25 pts):

B: 1 egg/3 whites scrambled w/2T cheese & 2T salsa, 3 oz sweet potato & 1/2 c 1% milk
S: 1T peanut butter
L: whole wheat pita, 1/2 c tuna, 1T light ranch dressing
S: pear
D: 5 oz pork chop, 1 c 1% milk & steamed veggies

The balls of my feet are sore from Step Moves last night. Maybe I need a new pair of sneakers... I might give them a break and do a Cardio Coach on the bike. Nothing better than putting those earbuds in, crankin' it up and getting down to business...:D

I posted this on the wrong week (3rd week of February). Sorry.

Hello everyone. Would anyone mind if I joined in? I have been lurking for a few weeks now and I see how supportive all of you are of each other. I could use some of that support. I have been on WW for almost 3 months now. I think I have lost 4 pounds. I have done the program before with success (lost 30 pounds, gained back 8 and have lost 4 of those 8) but I just cannot get back into it. I do love the new program but my mind is elsewhere. I think part of the problem is that I have not been able to make the meetings. I run in for the weigh-in but I have to run back out to get home. DH has been working late and cannot watch the kids. I think I really need the meetings.

Murphy

PS
Thanks for the welcome JenniferMaria (I hope I spelled that right).

Hi, Melissa, Bye Melissa.

Welcome Murphy. I wish you much success with the new program. We've all had our ups and downs. But, I think we're all sticking with it. Do you have access to WWers online? I have found great ideas and information on the site. I'm have problems making meeting too, so I signed up online. I've learned I have to be all the way in this program to make it work.

Having troubles are you? We offer lots of suggestions to each other here. Hope that doesn't offend you.

So here I go ---Are you tracking? Getting in enough Fruits and veggies? working out? getting enough water? Lots of questions, huh? Are you eating enough PPs?

BBL

Murphy - welcome! I'm happy to have you here...:D I hope we can provide you with the support you need. I do not attend meeting so I count on all these lovely ladies for support and advice. We are always here for each other!!

I am biding my time until dinner is ready. I'm so hungry. I think I've eaten about 2 cups of raw carrots just waiting for dinner to cook...

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did BM2 Cardio Blast Premix! I should've weighed in today but opted to go do Heavy Leg Training at the rec ctr. I will weigh in tomorrow.

B-fiber one/prot pwd/flax/1 C berries/1C coconut milk (7)
S-Banana
L-green salad, advantedge carb control shake (3)
S-orange
D-2 veggie burgers and 1 1/2 C broccoli & cauliflower (5)

If I'm still hungry in a bit, then I will have more broccoli & cauliflower.

Murphy-welcome to our checkin! I can't make it here everyday, but try to pop in a few times per week. There are so many good suggestions and we try to be positive and supportive. Of course, feel free to vent....that's what we are here for!

Melissa-I haven't been through all the threads, but was wondering if limiting the nighttime carbs has made a difference at the scale. I do better on a higher protein diet myself.

Elaine-HR is similar to Power Hour. I do wish they would give the weight selections in HR like they do in PH.

Stacy-it's very normal to lose more weight the first 1-2 weeks and then taper off. We are all here for you. I'm struggling with letting the scale play head games with me. For example, I know I'm up a tad but opted to w/o rather than weigh in, secretly hoping the additional w/o today will help the scale be down tomorrow for the weigh in. In the back of my mind I'm thinking I just should've weighed today and started the next week fresh tomorrow.

Shereta-do you mind if I ask what your occupation is? You sound like a motivational speaker...at least on this forum. I love reading all your encouraging words!

....gotta run...

Diana - I lost 3lbs last week. I haven't had that big of a loss since my first week on WW when Momentum was still in existence. I'm sure limiting the nighttime carbs has alot to do with that. I also reduced my points intake to 26 per day. And I'm not eating any WP's or AP's. It's probably a combination of those things.

Hey ladies,

This has been a bit of an indulgent week for me so far--I've definitely been eating things like chocolate and pastries a little more often than I should LOL. Technically, I'm not using up too many points (I've used up my AP as I go along and 4 of my WP, with 4 days left in my week), but I know it's not just about the points, but the quality of the points, so I need to buckle down for the rest of the week if I want to maintain my 2.5 pound loss this week, or ideally, lose even more.

I'm trying not to dwell on my slip-ups though, or feel that guilt over eating certain foods. It's a hard thing to do, not to demonize food, but I think it's important to have a healthy relationship with food and besides, that extra stress will just cause more belly fat to accumulate, right LOL?

Anyway... I've noticed that my appetite (or rather, my cravings) has increased a lot since I kicked up my workouts a notch. I'm doing cardio 5-6x a week right now (20 min on the days I do strength training and 40-60 min on the run days), and circuit training 3x a week. On some days, I've also done a little bit of light walking in the evenings (mall walking--nothing too strenuous, but all activity adds up :)). All this extra activity is revving up my appetite, and as usual, I tend to treat myself to those extra points with not-so-nutritious foods LOL.

Need to get back to being disciplined, so I may need your help, y'all :).

Hey, yall, got in too late to post. But I did have my Wednesday evening fast food: fries and chicken tenders for dinner. Yummy. I ended the day with 42 PPs. 30 wps still left for the week.

Melissa, great job on eating those carrots while preparing dinner. Very healthy eating conscious of you.

Diana- Thanks. That was nice of you to say. I've always been a very positive person. I try to be quiet most times, I'm not really a busybody or a nosy person, but we're to help each other and when I'm moved to say something, I just let it out. Especially here because we need each other. I've learned so much in the short time we've been together. I love this. Oh, yeah. I'm a secretary in a very busy counseling office. I love my job.

Jennifer, I agree with you on having a healthy relationship with food. We have to know when enough is enough if we really want to see results. My appetite/cravings increase too when I do more cardio. It might be good to fill up on healthy choices then, have a little not-so-healthy-treat. Hey, Melissa, give Jennifer some of them carrots. hahahahaha

Good morning!

Jennifer - I think you need a good balance of "treats" and nutritious food. You can have both and still be successfull, and it sounds like you're finding that balance. However, if you need me to pass the carrots, like Shereta suggested, I just got more at the grocery store last night..:D

Shereta - glad to hear you enjoyed your chicken tenders and fries! I love that we can fit that in and still be successful. It's all about balance. Just like Jennifer's dark chocolate!!!

So I'm home for the next two days. Today's a busy day, thankfully. No time to sit around and snack.

Menu for today (25 pts):

B1: two slices whole wheat toast w/1T pb, 1/2 c milk
B2: 3 whites/1 egg scrambled, 2T cheese & 2T salsa
L: whole wheat pita, 3 slices turkey, 2T hummus, apple
S: pear or a banana
D: 6 oz chicken, 1 cup 1%, steamed broccolli, cauliflower & carrots

Off to eat B1, then workout. I feel like doing a circuit so we'll see what pops out at me...:)

Happy Thursday, Yall. Today's workout was Premix of KPC. THis is one of my favs. and today, i did all the jump kicks and jumps into side kicks. Im sure that because it was a premix I had the energy. I hardly felt it in my legs. I felt so powerful. Love the ball/core work in this one too.

I love milk chocolate, but I'm gonna try that dark chocolate.

BBL to post menu.
