I agree on the x train Melissa!! I feel same way but I don't want to do same rotation, still thinking on what to do

decided to do To The Max!! ouch !!

I did love that workout but now it is way harder then it was!! Why is that? Wow maybe I had been slacking on the hit and tabatas but they are so hard !! But ttm I was able to complete it with difficulty yes but this time I thought I was gonna die lol. During the HIIT portion I decided to do the work when timer was at 25 seconds not 30 and that helped some what I guess I need to do thus one at least once a week to get my endurance back up!!
 
hi girls-- well, after a crazy series of days, I am looking forward to a little more quiet today-- until tonight's concert! I barely slept Thursday night after all the fire/power issues, so did not get a workout in yesterday-- though I did have to trek with alec from the west bank to the east bank campus and back again (across the Mississippi) to get him to his PSEO registration. we were on the go from 7:am until around 10pm. that was one of the longest days yet! anyway, today was supposed to be my day off, but after all the screwy workout days this week from lack of power, I did do 35 minutes of shiva rea core yoga-- the 108 prostration push-up routine. now I am going to run and pick up nygel's bday gifts and see two clients. Melissa-- you mentioned your little guy turning 12-- nygel and he are so close in age! nygel is 12 on Monday-- we will be at bravo all day, but are planning a party for him one week from sunday.

Melissa-- so glad to hear that your hip is feeling better!! way to go on the eating well determination! I hope I don't slip back into lots of junk when bravo ends, for now I am too busy to snack on junk, and I never pack it so I don't even have the option if I wanted it:)

renee-- I am like that with workouts, too, and it can really just depend on the day and how I slept, etc. maybe it will feel better on a different day? when it is humid outside, I notice that my energy is low and I am really huffing and puffing to keep up, and then the next day I might have way more energy. I don't know--it probably is related to diet, too, but I am guessing your endurance is still pretty dang good!:D

eva-- your ART results sound amazing! so happy for you! and congrats on keeping such careful measurements-- I have never done that before. hope you and Jeremy are having a good weekend!

better run so I get all my chores/errands in before the concert tonight. tonight is just chamber music for alec-- one brahms quartet on viola and a Debussy quartet as first violin-- so a little less nerve wracking for me! last night nygel opened the concert with a solo-- it went beautifully, but I still always get nervous. last Saturday both alec and imala soloed-- so tonight is a nice breather;).

Katie, that's CRAZY about your power lines. I cannot believe how action-packed your life is sometimes. It really is amazing! I'm glad to hear today was a (relatively) quiet day for you and the kids. I was wondering, do they get exhausted too? They are also running around, and have to expend a lot of physical and mental energy to perform at the peak level they do all the time. It must be exhausting for them too. I can see they get their work ethic from you because you certainly persevere through thick and thin. Hopefully you'll have a quiet and restful evening after the concert so that you can catch up on some rest. I am glad you did not have any damage to the house. Happy Birthday to Nygel!

Melissa, I am glad that your hip is on the mend. That is good news! It's frustrating to have a set back like that. I remember when my toe was injured early this year and it was a real drag. I forgot to send birthday greetings for your 12 year old the other day. Is he your oldest? Another year and you'll have a teenager on your hands. ;) I think walks are a nice compliment to ART. I've been adding them in after dinner and I'm always surprised at how many calories you can burn walking for relatively little effort. I guess it really is a complete, full body workout, but it still surprises me. I wish I was at a 90 minute winebar shin dig, but it was a boring webinar about wage misclassification errors and how to fix them...I'm an HR person so that's right up my alley, so to speak. I'm sending you clean-eating vibes!!! Buying smaller serving sizes is a good idea...even if you have some junk food, it probably helps you resist having a larger portion. That does not always work for me, but it works sometimes, which is better than never. :(

Renee, congratulations on your results and progress! By the time other people notice you've lost weight, or that you look smaller, you definitely have made some progress. I think the scale is kind of misleading for a lot of us. Like Melissa, I got by my clothes, and by extension, I think measurements are the most accurate. Although it's hard to know if you're really measuring the same spot over and over again, at least for me. I have some clothes that I tend to use as guidelines so I know when certain things are tighter or looser where I need to be. They are clothes that are not made with stretchy fabrics so they're an accurate gauge of how I'm doing.

Ok, I'm off to get something for dinner. Cheat night for me, so I'm having Thai food.

Hi all-

I hadn't gotten a workout in since Monday. But got a short one in today! Thanks to Renee on doing TTM. I did the step only just to do something. I wasn't in the mood for tabatasize even though it was about the same amount of time.

I'm all raw for the next few days. I did have some shrimp and cheese today, because I was at a party with pizza and cake. That helped me through.
 
Yoga today, I liked it shiva Rae what's her name? Lol I never spell it right.

I try to go raw at lunch everyday. I going to do a shake in the morning and veggies at lunch, I had been doing veggie lunches and it makes me stay reg :)
But I am adding shake for breakfast, then I am wanting to do veggies at night to.

Yesterday I ended up taking a short walk. A lot of uphill. I guess it is better than nothing. It was the first day of my cycle, so I am a little bloated and yucky. i have been not very regular the last two months. My hip is doing much better, thank God. Eating was o.k.

Eva, I do like walking, I think I will add it to art workouts.

Renee, I definitely would not make it thru to the max at the rate I am going, I am just glad I am able to walk without wincing. Katie is right about doing better on certain days endurance wise.

Katie, I am glad you had an uneventful day! How was the concert? I still get nervous for my kids too. I wonder if that ever goes away.

I don't know what I will do today.

hi girls! today I got up and did drillmax and then 30 minutes of shiva rea yoga-- burned 711 calories. my energy felt pretty low-- haven't been sleeping well lately with everything going on. at least the weather is gorgeous! no humidity and highs around 80 for the week. last night was great-- I loved alec on first violin in the Debussy quartet and the director did as well, as she came up and gave him a big hug. he also did viola in a brahms quartet, which went great as well. we weren't home until after 11 and ended staying up til midnight, but was still a wonderful night. today there is a faculty recital in about 2 hours and then we are coming home to get ready for week 3 of this.

eva-- the kids seem to totally thrive on this. I may get tired and worn out, but there energy when it comes to music and performing seems to be endless, which is great. I don't think I could ever go through this every year if they didn't love it so much, because it is exhausting and takes away from my thai schedule/clients. but, I do it because it is so important to them and since I know this is what they want to do in the future-- I am trying to enjoy it while it's here, even when the days are a little rough:p. how was your dinner?? we had thai last night, too! there is a great thai restaurant over by the u of m, so we got takeout last night after the concert-- late dinner, I know, but everyone was so hungry! hope you had a fun night!

ladylep-- glad you got a w/o in! way to go on the raw diet again! hope it helps with your cycle.

renee-- I always have a smoothie for breakfast, too! mine is spirulina with fruit and almond milk. so glad you like shiva rea! I think she is great:D. hope you are having a good sunday!

Melissa-- I have been counting walking a lot as my exercise this past week! sorry you are feeling bloated and icky:(. hope that passes soon! you know, I think I get even more nervous now then I used to? now that the pieces they are performing are more and more difficult and longer, I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat through most recitals:eek:. wish I could relax! so glad your hip is doing better still!

alright, going to walk the dogs and then will have to head to the u for the faculty concert-- at least this means no nervous anxiety for me.

Katie, it's good to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to keep up with us with all you guys have going on right now...and thanks for the insight about the kids and their love of music. They are so much more talented and dedicated than Jeremy, but he is also a musical and artistic person and it's amazing to watch him get lost in his own space when he's creating something. He can stay locked in his room for hours, no breaks for food or water or barely to go to the bathroom. I have never found anything that captivates me that way, but I imagine music does that for your children. It's interesting that they are all so musical. You really got lucky there with three talented children. Kudos to you for getting in Drill Max today. I was thinking about that workout then I realized I don't have it. I thought I did, but I have bootcamp...which I previewed and was not in the mood for today. I actually ended up not getting Thai last night. I got Chipotle instead, and had some frozen yogurt for dessert. It was yummy!

Melissa, good to hear from you too! I love your joke with Henry. Did he think that was funny or did you get some "side-eye" for that one!? I think you'll like the combination of ART and walking if you end up doing that for a few weeks. I think it's kind of nice to have a break from high impact stuff...I'm sure our joints appreciate it too. :D

Ladylep, the step section of TTM is very challenging, so you should be quite happy to get that workout in!! It sounds like your eating has been top notch the last few days, and now you're heading into a raw cycle, so I imagine you've dropped a few pounds in the last week or two. High five for choosing shrimp and cheese over pizza and cake!:D:D:D

Renee, Did you buy those Shiva Rea workouts or are you doing the ones Katie showed us on YouTube? I was thinking about getting the Short and Sweet one, because the UY videos are all at least an hour, but I hardly do them enough to justify buying more. I am going to try to do yoga on my rest days, though, so that will give me an easy way to work it in once a week...so tomorrow is a yoga day for me.

Today I did Cardio Kicks, which was fun. Burned 550 calories. I still have my ART add-ons to do, but I'll tack those on after dinner. This week it's 100 side lunges on each side, 100 hip rolls on each side (I do leg lifts because the rolls bother my hips) and 50 rotating planks-these are HORRIBLE.

Thanks, Eva. Today I was all raw except for 1 oz of cheese and some hummus at dinner. Fruit smoothie for breakfast, lunch was tomatoes, carrots and an avocado with bruchetta. Snack was a banana, some blueberries and 1/4c raw cashews. Dinner was mushrooms with hummus, tomatoes, cantaloupe, cherries and cheese. I'll have some dates with raw almond butter later.

Eva- your workouts sound really tough. I haven't had the energy or motivation lately. I'm thinking about doing another 15-20 min tabata from TTM before my evening shower but B put on Knight Rider and I have to nurse Little K and probably put him to bed. I had asked Hubby to do it tonight, since he will be away with JTrain the next 2 nights (doing Passport to Purityhttp://www.familylife.com/find-help/key-resources/passport2purity#.UdC8cRazxRE) But Hubby is looking at the material now and it's more than he expected.

So I've read some and skimmed some. And I notice that some have talked about doing an X Train rotation that's different. I'd be in on that. I would need to keep the workouts under 60 min many under 30. And I'd like Hardcore Extreme in there, even tho they are over 60, I can shorten them or do them on the weekends... And TTM too. I'm really liking that. Or maybe just a frame work? Or if you find one that looks good, we can modify to fit our DVDs and schedules.
 
Lady Lep how about the cardio and weights 30 day x train? I don't know how long the workouts are but I think it's cardio every day with a burn set of one muscle everyday so I'm not sure if that's how it goes or not.

Katie it is amazing that each of your kids love music and that talented! My question is who was the musically inclined your mom dad you?

Eva I did bye two of the shiva workouts. I don't have any room in my computer room to do any of the wo so I can't do those wo on you tube..

Melissa so glad ur hip is healing! I wonder why it started up.. I hate the torn bloat headache feeling! I think that is next week for me!! Not looking forward to it cause that's when my headache are worse first two days day n night and I hate working with a headache trying to smile and do ins talk to patients and call people on phone and count money! Not good on a headache I'd much rather be moving around in the back like I used to! It is worse staring at computer!!

Today my friend came in again she has a job interview tomorrow !! I really hope she likes it so eventually if they need another assistant I can apply too! And we will be able to work together! I'd love it we have tons of laughs and we both work hard and love patients, can't stand laziness either!!! So it would be great she can get job and there is a place close by she may be able to rent. She seems like the same person I knew. We decided to go watch the movie heat!! Omg you guys it was so so funny both ladies was funny!! And the both put me in mind of me rolled in one!! Ha ha mostly Sandra's personality though lol. I recommend if u want to laugh go see it. But be warned McCarthy says alot of choice words which Sandra doesn't lol. It was great,
Before that for workout I went my three mile run added a HIIT in there in between or I guess intervals four times the steady pace again

I did get in TTM fitness tabata only. I'm trying to decide what to do today. I was thinking about going thru the timesaver series, but also I've been enjoying TTM, so I may want to do the Hiit portion of that.

Renee, I am glad you had a good day wi your friend. It would be great if you could get a job there too (and if she does). You are right, nothing like a headache and having to count money and be friendly! I think if it were me, everybody would no about the headache! Good job on your run! I wish I knew what set off my hip problem so I could avoid it. That was the week started my hiit runs and slow and heavy, so it had too be one of those.

I am going to continue with art and walking for a couple weeks. I really feel like I have lost all of my gains. My pants are tight. I know most of it is food choices.

Eva, I did art with upper today, I actually used 2 pound weights! Nothing like going from 25 pound to 2 pounds! Anyhow, Henry did not think the comment was funny! I was laughing which didn't help. Cardio kicks sounds like fun too. I don't really have any hip problems with art EXCEPT in the warmup. It is where she is bending side to side and reaching her right hand to her ankle on each bend. I am not able to bend my left leg parallel to the floor. When we do the squats, I can. Go figure.

you know I cant wait for Cathes dvds because we can do xtrain and the new ones as some kind of rotation and if we are having a day of cardio but we don't want to jump add in afterburn eek..i hate that one lol well love hate it..

My friend got the job!! she starts next Monday!! and get this is looking for another assistant!!! I am so excited for her and then for me cause I hate my job right now.. lol I am like oh boy oh boy she said she told him about me, because he mentioned he was going to hire two more associates and he will need assistants, and she jumped in and said I know the perfect girl for you!! And he knows my Doctor I work for so he even understands then why I want a new job!! He said to give him a few days he will call my friend to tell me to bring in my resume!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy it will be mon thru fri I really like part time but I have so many bills right now I can handle it I hope. Fridays will be half days.. And eventually he wants to have Fridays off!!!!! holy cow.. I hope I get it.. I am not good in interviews. I am so self conscious and it shows..

not sure what to do for exercise today I really need to follow a rotation again.. anyway I am kind of down I thought I was losing or getting smaller and I saw a pic or me I look bloated.. like a toad!! all over arms face head legs belly I just look like I am going to explode.. wt crap!!!!!!!!!!! I have got to do better.. I really do not know what else to do.. It is irritating cause I thought I was finally getting somewhere oh well go at it again I guess
 
hi girls-- quick check in from me as we are finally home and now are getting ready to do cake and gifts with nygel. this morning I did pyramid HiiT plus a lower body core yoga dvd of shiva rea's. my feet were sore today so I may just do yoga in the morning so I can pick up with HiiT on Wednesday. the weather here has been amazing-- 80 and sunny still. sorry for anyone dealing with the heat!

Melissa-- sorry you are feeling down-- I bet you still have lots of strength from the xtrain rotation, and now that you are able to do w/o again, the weight will come off-- plus don't you have your period right now? that always means weight gain for me.

renee-- great news about your friend and for you! I hope you get the job! I have been feeling the same way about my body, actually-- sometimes it seems like I am looking good and then I will catch myself in a mirror or photo and wonder what the heck was I thinking?:confused: I am excited for the new dvds, too! here is to a new rotation soon!

Back to report I did all out low impact hIIT I finish every rep !! I was proud of that!! Whoo hoo !!
I noticed they didn't add any new pics of workouts today. I wonder if they filmed one?
 
Just a quick note to report I decided to go with Renee's suggestion and did the first day of the C&W XTrain. So I did AOLIH with Burn Sets Chest and really liked it. It was under an hour and tough but not too tough, tomorrow will be Legs with rear delts.

I'm really struggling with the food thing though. All raw today except for hummus in my avocado for lunch and my salad dressing was bottled. I will have had a dozen dats with almond butter when the evening is up. But I guess that is better than the chocolate chips or hot fudge sauce with ice ca, that I really wanted. I grilled burgers for dinner that looked really good. And then I made hot fudge sauce for my boys. So hard not to eat it! I had some minor waring cramps today, so I hope to get it tomorrow. But I may not. I don't think I can be all raw on my favorite holiday. But I don't want to be in pain either. I'm trying to keep busy. I spent 2 hours after I got the kids to bed (Hubby is away for 2 nights with JTrain for Passport 2 Purity). Cleaning up stuff, doing laundryman fixing up the schoolroom. Now I'm going to watch the season finale of Merlin and scrapbook. Did anyone hear that Creative Memories is going out of business?? I'm so bummed. I have at least 3 albums to fill and I don't have pages/protectors... I'm also way behind. I have barely started 2011!

Renee, I really hope you get the job, and I am happy for your friend. I don't interview well either, I get this awful red rash on my neck and face when I get nervous, although it happens at other times. I am sorry you are feeling down. I am a bloated mess too. Your toad comment is funny! I'll bet you are doing better than you think. I like the art workouts, but will add some cardio.

Lol Melissa I feel. Like a bloated toad a lot but I thought I lost some weight to where I wasn't LOOKING like one but I did! Grr
Not sure what to do today I may do a rest day or yoga.
 
Oh another thing, I wonder if Cathe will be finished filming before Thursday? It seems updated has slowed down as days go by. Only one pic since Saturday! I know give me a brake !! But I'm excited! I aka ways get excited for Cathes DVD, I'm not like that with others! I ordered peak fit and kinda excited but not like I am with Cathe !!
