Your day sounds like fun. Nothing like being guilt tripped into something. It is hard to please everybody and isn't it nice sometimes to just do things for ourselves!

I am going to start back up tomorrow and hope for the best. I am going to use low intensity series and probably use shorter mixes. Maybe A will do what you did and do lis step only and weights the next day.

I have been doing stretches for my low back upper thigh area.

Ladylep, good to hear from you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for CDawg and I hope that he makes the team! You are very kind to spend today with your mother and stepdad so that he does not have to be alone for the day. I am sure he will appreciate the time to have some family around him that day...I hope you guys enjoyed the time together. You guys are very involved with the US Open, which is neat. Does your family play tennis too? Sounds like you have a very fun day planned. I hope the weather held, and that you had a lovely day. Congrats on getting your workouts in.

Melissa, I'm sorry you're still not tip-top. Does walking bother your hip? Maybe that would be a good way to ease back in to your workouts? Kudos for you for keeping your diet in check. I'm with Ladylep. 50/50 is still progress, so I hope you feel like you're making progress. You can only go day by day. It's hard to resist eating not-so-healthy food. There was a fascinating article in the NY Times a few months ago about how junk food is manufactured to be addictive and how food scientists work very hard to make sure that we're all addicted to these foods because of the way they hit our pleasure receptors.

Today I did an ART upper body workout. There was a very hard plank move that I could barely do, but otherwise it was reasonable. This trainer does mostly compound moves, so even when you're working upper body, you're doing it in a plie or a lunge, which I like. These workouts are very plank-intensive, so I'm getting a lot more core and shoulder work in every session.

It's been a nice relaxing day here today, which has been lovely. Now I'm off to prep dinner and some lunches for the week.

only a second to post, as we are headed to the u of m in a few minutes. my feet are already sore from walking so much yesterday! more now today (and everyday for the next four weeks!) and long days ahead. woke up at 3:20 and couldn't fall asleep for a long time, was then about to, and henri started howling:mad:. anyway, will be tired today, I am sure. I did get in S&G this morning, and am excited for the kids' first day! will try and check back in tonight for personals.

Hi Girls,

Eva, Glad you had a relaxing day. I tried out the ART bonus class on the website. I really liked it, it is so different from anything I usually do. I am going to get the mat workout 1 on itunes.

Katie, At least the walking is exercise! Good luck with your next 4 weeks.

I actually did cardiosupersets. It went better than expected. I still have hip pain. I am hoping low impact will be ok. I think next week I am going to start the 90 days xtrain/ low impact series if I am better.
Ate like a pig yesterday!!!!

Drive by post for me, as I have 50 pistol squats to do on each leg this evening, and I really don't wanna.

Melissa, glad your workout today was better, although I'm sorry your hip is still bugging you. Do you think you should keep resting it up, or is moving around even better for it? I'm glad you liked the ART workout! Since I'm so ADD I don't want to jinx myself and talk it up too much, but I'm liking them too. This may sound crazy, but I think I'm seeing a little more definition in my arms from doing them the last two weeks, but that may be wishful thinking. I need to take my measurements.

Katie, hope today went smoothly for you and the kids. Is everyone at U of M during the day, or do you have to split your time helping all the kids get where they need to be? How did the first day of the program go? Kudos on getting S&G in even though you did not get a lot of sleep. That workout always sneaks up on me. :confused:

Today was my usual rest day, but I did workout. I did BodyFit (which I keep calling PeakFit) 360, it's that fusion workout from Michelle Dozois that I got. I like this for rest days as it gets me moving without being too taxing. I always feel nice and stretched after I do it.

Ok, off to do my squats! I'm doing a rotation for ART and these are a part of that...it's almost like Cathe's Rock Bottom rotation where there's an extra lower body add on. Every week it's different, this week it's pistol squats.

Sorry everyone but I am kinda busy rugby now but I did get hard strikes in at work and when I got home I did get to go for three miles with my friend!! We are having a great time catching up so that's good.
Yesterday was kickboxing from 4 DS and strains bi n tris disk two.

hi girls-- that was an exhausting day, but the good news (and bad, for my feet in a way) is that I walked so much today I can't even imagine how many miles it was. eva-- they are each going all day long, but in different classes/rehearsals, so it is a lot of running back and forth and up and down flights of stairs-- especially with my youngest to make sure he is where he needs to be. the kids are all loving it, as usual, so it is a good thing. I can't believe we have 27 days left of this, though:p

melissa-- glad you are finding some workouts (thanks to eva!) that you enjoy! wish that hip would stop hurting! I ate too much on Saturday, but since this program has started, have been pretty darn good. today it was a spirulina smoothie for both breakfast and dinner (was too tired to try to make something tonight!) and a hummus sandwich with greens and veggies on sprouted bread for lunch. this may be why I lose weight (typically) during bravo-- maybe I should be running like this all the time;):rolleyes:

eva-- ouch! that sounds intense on the legs! good luck with those squats! you are working hard on your rest day, which does not surprise me!

renee-- glad you are having a good time with your friend! sounds like you are still getting good workouts in, too!

tomorrow morning I may just do yoga and then hiit the next day, yoga, hiit, for the week. with all the walking I am doing, my feet don't feel like they could take any impact tomorrow and are in need of a good stretch. I figure I am burning more calories in a day now, anyway.

Melissa, let me know how you like the Mat 1 workout. I'll have to check iTunes and see what that is, because I'm not sure. She also has a DVD, but I have not seen that. The content on her website is updated once a week, I believe, which is nice. I look forward to your feedback after you have done it.

Katie, glad the first day went smoothly, sounds like it was crazy busy though. The kids are so lucky that you have the opportunity and the flexibility to facilitate their participation. I can imagine a lot of other families might not have the ability to do so...it's nice that you do! Your workout schedule sounds ideal, although you'd probably be fine with just the walking. ;) I hope you have a comfy pair of sneaks you can use for your trip. I bought a pair of Skechers walking shoes for my trip to Greece and they were like clouds on my feet. I was not expecting them to be so comfy, since their not really a high-end expensive shoe, but they were awesome! I am going to get a few more pairs, actually.

Renee, I forgot that your friend was coming to visit. I hope you guys are enjoying your time together. Were you able to get in a walk together today?

Hi Ladylep! I hope all is well with you and your boys. Have you been getting your workouts in as you hope?

Today I did ART lower body. It was a nice, thorough workout with some new moves. Some work on all fours, some standing leg work, and some bridge work. A little work with weights, but a lot of the work was just using body as resistance and balance challenges. I am loving the balance work as I am so crappy at that. I hope this improves my abilities if I'm diligent with it.

Today I ate awfully again. did get a lot of cleaning done.

Eva, I think the mat 1 is the same as the dvd. I only did the 11 minute instructional part today. I also reviewed the youtube link with the 58 min. class. I think I will like this. Will you do just the art or add other workouts? I was sweating quite a bit.

My hip is a little better today. I feel like all of my hard work is down the drain. I HAVE to eat better.

Hi ladies we walked yesterday three miles and I did HS and today was yoga. Lisa walks but won't do aerobics lol, kinda funny but any how I had to work mon and Tuesday but tomorrow we will get to go jogging at the park and shop and maybe a movie Friday but I am hoping to add in some laying in the sun tomorrow !!

And Little K decided to wake up at 1, 2 and 2:30 and then he was up for good at 6ish. Good thing I've gotten 2 hour naps both Monday and yesterday and I got another on in today.

No workouts to report and I have been eating terribly. But I'm at my WW meeting now hoping to get back into clean eating, tracking and working out. I have 10 weeks until Labor Day and I'm 20 pounds away from being free. Can I lose 20 in 10 weeks?? The "special occasions" that I have over the summer are: Fourth of July, anniversary July 10, B's bday July 25 and a possible vacation Labor Day week.

I'm up to 173.2 :( I'm back I. The overweight category....

If I can get to bed early enough I can may stay awake in the afternoon to workout.
 
hi girls-- sorry for being mia yesterday! this program has me exhausted! yesterday we were there until after 5:30 and then stuck in horrendous traffic for 45 minutes getting home (normally a 15 minute trip). anyway, was so worn out that I came home, did my few chores that needed to be done, and passed out. tomorrow will be another super long day, as alec is performing in a master class-- that means we are there late. more recitals happen Friday night, so we come home around 5:30 and then have to be back by 7:00, so if you don't hear from me, you all will know why!

this morning I did pyramid HiiT and then some shiva rea core yoga and lower body. tomorrow I will just practice yoga. eva, I wish I had better shoes! I actually have been wearing some keen sandals as it has been super warm here (muggy!)and I cant stand to wear tennis shoes when it is this warm. my feet are getting used to it, but it is tough with the tendonitis and flat feet. :(

ladylep-- I am so sorry for your crummy sleep. you guys are so busy it is no wonder with a night like that that you don't get a workout in! I think you will be able to lose the weight you want to lose-- you are very determined and are able to juggle all of the kids' schedules and schoolwork! I have every confidence in you! way to go for getting back in to ww:D

renee-- hoping you had a great day with your friend! did you get some sun? :)

Melissa-- glad to hear your hip is feeling better, but sorry you are struggling with food:(. that is always my issue, too, only now I truly do not have time to eat crappy! when I get a break, I eat the lunch I packed for us the night before-- that keeps me on track since I have no other option;). lately I have been so hot when we get home (we don't have a/c in this 100+year old house) all I want is a cold smoothie. too bad I am not like this in the winter! hope you have a nice visit with your sister.

eva-- I really do want to check those workouts once I have more time this summer. they sound really interesting. I am always about balance work-- and I think your balance will definitely improve the more you work at it. mine is so much better now than it was back before all the yoga-- it truly makes a huge difference. hope you had a good day today!

alright, I better get moving. emails to write and bills to pay so that I am ready to be up and out the door again in the morning. kind of nervous for alec (I always get that way for performances) as he is trying a new piece from memory for the first time for the director of the program-- he plays in front of everyone (open to the public, too) and then is taught by her in front of the class. it is very nerve wracking, but what string players do when they study at college. hoping it all goes well and I am able to check in again soon!

How are the boys liking camp this year? You mentioned that your two older boys were counselors...is this their first year in those roles,or did they do that last year? It looks like there are some great activities planned and the garden sounds awesome! The emphasis on sharing, kindness and being a good person strikes me as being very different than the type of camps most kids go to. That's pretty neat. I'm sorry that you are still struggling with your eating, but I commend you for trying to stay on track. You are not giving up!! And that's why you are going to be successful. :) I'm sure the meetings are a good reinforcement for staying on track...I believe that's one of the keys to success for folks who have good luck with their program. You've managed to get back in shape after your other pregnancies, so I have no doubt you'll be successful this time as well. :):):):):):):):):)

Katie, I hope you and the kids had a good day today. How was Alec's performance this evening. I hear you about the sandals. I have been looking for a pair that I can wear to work for about a month and I cannot find something that is comfy and professional, but I hate to have hot feet too. Luckily I'm inside all day. I also have flat feet, so I have to look pretty hard to find shoes that are going to work for me. I buy a lot of shoes from FootSmart and Online Shoes, both are online and specialize in comfortable shoes...I have pretty good luck there.

Renee, I hope you had a good day. I think you said you were taking today off to hang with your friend?

Melissa, I hope you're enjoying your visit with your sister! Look forward to hearing from you when you get back. I hope your hip will be 100% by then.

Today was an ART day for me, I did an upper body workout. I also tacked on a little CrossFire to up the calorie burn a little bit.

Yesterday I went shopping and did dinner with my sister, so my only workout was a 45 minute walk at lunchtime.

Hi Eva and all!! I did 4day HIS today since I stayed awake during Little K's nap! I have done better on eating today. I still have 5 points left and think I will have a 3 point strawberry Popsicle. :). I'm not hungry but I'll want chocolate later!

The camps are a lot of fun. Our church has camps from age 3 to 12th grade. :)

Eva- I realized I didn't answer your questions about camp. JTrain has been a Jr counselor 4 years in a row and loves it. He will be a JC for Castle Camp (I thought it was Creation Camp, it's a different C word every year. This is CDawg's first time. I think he likes it. Did I answer your questions?
 
Hi you guys yesterday me and Lisa hing out all day had a ball ate out shopped. Then tiday I worked but then we went on a trail I jogged 3 miles and walked one total of four miles now we are all relaxing in the porch having a wine cooler. Not to bad.
Yesterday I did gym style back shoulders and bis but not sore today,
I will have alot of reading to do later!! I am sorry I am not doing any personals yet.

I am back from my sisters, no workouts there, a lot of sitting.

I need to get back on track. My hip is still off. Not as much though. After sitting, I still need to stand still before my leg will move, odd!

Monday, I am either going to start 90 day xtrain lis, or do the art workouts for a couple weeks. I worry about loosing all of my gains.

Eva, How much cardio do you add with art? Do you think I should do a week of Terry's art rotation or start right in with the 90 days?

Renee, Great job on running. I am glad you are having a good time with your friend. I am sure you are a great support for her.

Ladylep, That is great that your kids take on the responsibility of camp counselor. It is nice they have things to do all summer that are active.

Katie, Great job getting in hiit with your schedule, AND the heat. You are so right about being too busy to eat junk. part of my problem is too much downtime in the summer. I would have collapsed after the log day and traffic too.

I am getting my car inspected and serviced now, in search of coffee!

Ok, today I did not have any energy. I did 1/2 of Peak Cardio strength and then threw in the towel. I am going to go for a walk now, then J and I are going to watch a movie. It seems like its been a long week, for some reason.

Hi my friends!! My friend will be leaving tomorrow, I hate to see her go but if she gets a call for a job she will be back. We actually got to go shopping some then we went to the park and paddle boated for an hour. It was calming and very good exercise for the legs.
I never go do stuff like that she does so it really helped me find something I can do. So it was not to bad 8 dollars for an hour. It was beautiful.

We tried to go to the movies but ill have to tell you tomorrow what happened when I can get to my computer. It was horrible.

I tried to do Michelle's cardio strength remix yesterday!! I was so tired or this DVD was hard!! I only did 25 minutes!! I never stop in the middle if a wo except tabatacise ! So that one is hard or I was just sucky yesterday!!
