Swollen Hearts for our Bambino Valentines--Check in

Hi!
Christine We all LOVED the broccoli! It is sooo good. I will be making it often.
Sorry to be short. Dh needs the computer and I am headed to bed. I just put Kara down and want to get as much sleep as I can. I will do personals in the morning.
Waves to everyone! Nite nite!

Never would have thought of amazon -- thanks for the tip! Saw them for $369 with free super saver shipping, if anyone is interested :)

I got this recipe yesterday. Haven't tried it yet, but they sound awesome to me! I think I'll try 1/8 cup oil + 1/8 cup lowfat buttermilk, instead of 1/4 cup oil.

Banana Brownie Waffles
from mealmakeovermoms.com

Makes Eight 4 ½ x 4 ½-inch Waffles

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup cocoa powder, sifted
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups 1% milk
2 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
2 large eggs, beaten (we like to use Eggland’s Best eggs)
1/4 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl and set aside.

3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, bananas, eggs, canola oil, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until just moistened.

4. Coat the hot waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron (about 2 cups or according to your waffle iron) and cook on medium-high setting. Repeat with the remaining batter.

5. Serve with sliced bananas or strawberries on top and a drizzle of pure maple syrup.

Morning!
I feel pretty good today. Kara slept from 9-3---then back asleep..its 7 now and shes still snoozing. She needs to get up though to take Haley to school.
Until she starts to nap longer in the mornings I have decided to split my workouts. I will do cardio in the morning and weights in the afteroon or night. That way I can get it all in. Her morning naps used to be nice and long..2 hours...now Im lucky to get 45 min..yesterday it was 30.
Allison-that recipe looks yummo. I am giving up sugar/chololate for lent, but after that I will try it. Let me know if you like it. Im glad Drew is sleeping better. Im hoping Kara get in the swing of it again. Shes doing fine though..MUCH better than Haley ever did so Im not complaining...much.
Pricilla-hi5 on your wieht loss and workouts!!! I am usally the one who is stummped from the abbreviations on things on here...I do love ME!
Melanie-are you snuggling with your girls this morning?
Jen-have a great day back at work.
Christine-HI
Just had oatmeal/walnuts/orange. Off to get Haley ready for school...bb after cardio.

Wow ladies! I watch The Bachelor instead of logging on here and I miss everyone's novels! :) Not much sleep last night. J didn't go down until almost 11p and woke me up at 330p. I had to be up at 6a so needless to say I am dragging ass this morning. Workin on my second cup of coffee (which I NEVER have).

Christine-Thanks for the compliment on James. I just try to stay laid back when it comes to him and I don't know if it helps him but it sure helps me! I loved that you told us you were thinking of what to defrost for dinner. :) Glad to know I am not the only one that thinks of things like that. Was this on the day that you didn't get ANY sleep or the day after??? If they only knew..... You sure have your hands full with John. I am amazed at how much you still get done with two little ones. You are my idol! And I WISH I could run a 8:30 pace. I'm working on getting back to a 10:00 min one. I haven't been in the mood for running or cardio lately. Wonder why??

Melanie- Miss you girl! Hope your work days are treating you well and you are spending quality time with your little ones! Wearing your spanx to work? I still LOVE mine!

Susan- I only wish I could get in cardio AND weights in one day! Even on my days off I have too much to do to justify it. Maybe I can convince DH to let me be a SAHM.... James seems to be where Kara was a few weeks ago. He is taking long morning naps so at least on the weekends I can get a nice workout in.

Allison- I didn't realize that Drew was still sleeping in his car seat. :) You do what works right? We swaddle James EVERY SINGLE TIME he sleeps. He WILL NOT sleep without it. DH and I were just wondering how long we were going to have to swaddle him...til he's 6??? He is just a fidgety little guy. AB Ripper is from the P90X. I've had the workouts for awhile and never tried them. (How sad is that?) I'm always afraid to try something new when I know Cathe works for me. DH has been doing the rotation (not like suggested) and he told me the AB ripper made him SO sore so I tried it. I was sore for two days.... I've been thinking of getting Insanity and the Bowflex weights also. I have to convince DH though....

Cee- Hope you and DH are feeling better. I agree with everyone else when they say that the workouts and eating well will just fall into place. It took me almost two months to really get back on the bandwagon after J was born. And even then it was a slow go....Now I am finding my groove. I think eating cleaner just helps give me more energy also. Hang in there girl!

Priscila- I wondered if it looked like I typed "I love myself (ME)" but I just didn't feel like typing the whole thing. I knew Susan would get it. ;) I am definitely adding that workout back into my "rotation" or whatever you want to call it that I've been doing.

Better try and get some work done. Might be back on here often just to keep myself awake today. Have a good one!

Wowzers. I don't think I will be able to catch up from all those posts ya'll made. At least you gals behaved (except for Susan who had Valentine panties).:eek::p

Work went well yesterday. It was a slower Monday & we had two pharmacists on which always makes it easier. The clothes that were clearanced were marked down an additional 40% so after my super long shift I had to go grab some clothes for my little ones at 80% off their original prices, then I forgot to get diapers. Oh well. My trunk was full of winter clothes for next year.....AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN BUYING GIRL CLOTHES!!! I can't believe what I've been missing for past 16 years. lol

No workout yesterday, I plan on walking on elliptical the days that I work, but DH has basically RAN out of the house when I get home from work for dire need of a break & I cannot walk with two. It's really for the best b/c I cannot believe how exhausted I am. I crashed on the couch with both girls @ 930 last night & didn't wake up until 630 this AM!! Of course I nursed throughout the night, but I don't really wake up for that.

I am down to 143 (3lbs from goal) and am pleased with that. Christine, you noticed that my meals are more bland when I'm tired too, eh? LOL When I"m tired I have trouble eating. Period. It's almost a depressed tired sometimes. I forced myself to eat some bland complex carbohydrates just for energy.

Cee, it's nice to hear from you :D

Precilla, sounds like you're doing great! That sucks about pushy people though. It was all I could do not to drop kick my congregation who felt it was necessary to touch my babes lips & face (with their germ infested hands).

Jen, that's awesome that DH is ready for more! My DH was never "ready". LOL He was always "done" after we delivered each one (or two). LOL

Well, I'm off to make some breakfast & coffee. Then the girls need baths this AM. BBL!

Waves to all!

Jen, snuck in on me....I have been wearing the spanx. I think it helps me suck my gut in more at work.....and it does help "flatten" the bulge. :) Kmart sells some body shapers too....but for now this one works good. I wear it over my panties, so I don't mind wearing it without washing it often. It has a hole in the crotch. I guess i could just push my panties back when urinating, but I'd be so afraid that I'd drip onto my panties and they'd be wet all day. lol

LMAO! A hole in the crotch?? You must've bought the sexy version. ;) Mine doesn't have that! The mental image I had had me LOL! I have three pairs now but I also wear panties underneath. It is exhausting working all day after no sleep. I think that is why I have better w/o's on the weekends. Way to go on the weight loss! You will be back down in no time!

Jen, I thought it was funny to have a hole in the crotch too. But then I thought maybe it was there b/c it's kinda hard to pull them on/off? or maybe for venting? I"m sorry you are feeling so sluggish!

I've been this weight for 4 days now with no weight loss; but I'm not fretting too much about it yet...but I will be relieved when I actually "reach" my goal.

I think I'm going to do Hardcore Extreme today. Not sure if I should do workout 1 or 2? Workout 1 has some weight work incorporated into it. It's been such a long time since I've done this one....not sure how much weight work is in it?

Well, my gals are sleeping so I best get to the workout. I gotsa get to post office, grocery store.....and of course DH wants to go fishing & I have to pick up the boys from basketball practice later. LOL, I feel exhausted already thinking about my day! LOL

4ds kickbox done ..and sure enough Kara woke up right when I was finished. I will do Legs later. She got up and burped..but is wide awake ready for her day. By them time her need to burp often is over she'll be too old for naps!!!!
bb..squimring baby in arms.

Melanie- I will do Hardcore extreme too. The first workout is interval circuit nad has some weights. I love this workout. THe second one is cardio (your favorite) and it kicks butt. THe last is not one of my favorites, so I cannot remember it.
Got to run, try to exercise before John wakes up.

Congrats on your workout, Susan! LOL about Kara being done w/burps when she's done with naps. I have a confession, on Sunday Madalynn fell asleep & Myranda was content in her baby swing....but then she got fussy and started crying. I only had 30 minute run....so I turned my mp3 player higher and tried not to look at her. Yup. I did that rotten thing. So I could get my workout in. She fell asleep within 5 minutes...then I did a little strength work b4 she woke up.

I ended up doing Hardcore Extreme #1 which is a combo of Imax3 & HighStep Cardio & Weights. It was tough, and good. I might try to do a section of StretchMax later since I didn't get a stretch workout in yesterday. Christine, which one did you do? I think #1 reminds me of The Viper.

Allison, CoreFusion is on FitTv tomorrow morning. I might try to do it? Or at least try it. I haven't actually done any FitTv workouts, but I watch them all the time b/c I"m a big dork.:eek:

I'm off to play Connect 4 with Jadon....I hope I can win. ;)

Hi
You guys are chatty! Hope I can remember some of what I read. Kara is napping in her bouncy seat..so maybe she won't have the burp urge so fast...I have a lot of chores/bills to pay ect to do. Today if Fat Tuesday..so it my last day of I can have sugar! My sis in law is my partner..and Dh is giving up his nightly ice cream for lent.

Melanie-sounds like you have your own naughty panties lol...crotchless!!! Im gonna have to try these spanx you girls talk about. You letting Myranda cry for 5 measly mintues is ntohing to feel bad about! I thought I would put kara in her bouncy seat or saucer from now on if she woke up during a workout. She might just like watching me..Haley always did. Can you easily tell the girls apart?? Im sure being thier mom you can..they look exactly the same in pictures!

Jen-Kara still sleeps in her carseat too..if not she wakes up to puke/burp within 30 min. I put her down flas in her crib for naps so at least she'll start to get used to it. She doesnt mind it...just wakes up to puke or burp. When in her crib Kara loves to be swaddled still at 4 months.

Waves to everyone-gonna pay a few bills!

Susan, I was prepared to let Myranda cry for whatever amount I had left to reach my 3 mile goal. Luckily, she fell asleep. LOL

No, I can't always tell them apart. They have different suckling personalities, which helps in middle of night.....but our Myranda wears a bracelet on her right hand. It helps immensely!!! I just LOVE that they are pefect images of one another! It's soooo fun!!!!

I have bad news....I feel like AF is coming. My back and pelvic area are achy and I'm gassy! Just like I used to be.....I hope its not true. I was looking forward to some more time off.

Melanie- I thought your confession was going to be that you let her cry the whole 30 minutes, not just 5 or so. Aww shucks, that's nothing. :) And you're still a good mom! I let J cry one evening for about 10 or so to finish up a leg workout. Dh didn't believe me when I told him. I know how you feel about the weight but now that I am actually AT my weight, I want to cheat more. I just keep telling myself that I will gain double if I cheat too much and so far its worked. I know this might be a stupid question but I've been meaning to ask (for a year now) :) where you get the cool smilies from???

Susan- I put James in his bouncy seat last weekend when he woke up and I knew he wasn't ready to eat yet and he loved it. I was able to finish B&G sans the floorwork (which I hate), stretch and make a protein shake. I hope it works for you.

Did you find the smiles, Jen?

I just want to let you know that I let my kids cry PLENTY. It's usually for reasons that are beyond my control...like to cook, clean, fold laundry, take care of other children. What made me feel bad was that I was doing it for my own selfish ambitions (working out) and that I was evil and turned my mp3 player up really loud so I couldn't hear her.

When I feel myself getting out of control, I've put the girls in their bed and let them cry their heads off for 15-20 minutes. Thanksfully I don't have to do that too often. I don't want you guys to think that I'm supermom or anything. :p

Oh don't worry, we wouldn't think anything like that :p

I don't know if AF is coming or I hurt my back. The backs of my legs feel very achy and tingly, kind of like a nerve thing. :( Only time will tell.

Can you tell I like the smilies?? We need more...

Speaking of crying, John is the pro. Every other day is the crying day. So, Mel, Cheers to crying. I feel like I tune it out now. I was so aware of it with Jimmy and always tried to make it stop. Now, he cries while I fold laundry, while I cook, while I sweat! He was a pill today so my workout sucked. And I woke up just plain fat today. So, in accordance with Melanie, today is my bland day! No bright colors and foods, just a whole lot of grouch. And I kind of told JOhn to shut up. Oops.
Gals- will be back tomorrow for personals.
And Jen- here comes aunt flow. Look out. She will be demanding your full attention. I had more flow than after baby. But dropped about 5 pounds with her arrival. She shoudl be here for me in a few days. Maybe that is why I want to put my family in a plastic bubble and let them float away. ho, i did not mean that, maybe a little.
Oh, and I made hubby go to the doctor and he has walking pneumonia. Having him home sick and two kids with no nap made me a pill. I did squeeze in Hiit 30/30 and Chalean. Skip 30/30, i found it lame, but maybe good or tired days. At the end I was bummed, I had been waiting to suck wind. Should have done my hardcore extreme! Way to go Mel, that is a really hard workout.
Okay, got to bathe the troops and swear that I will never have more children.
Boo.
