STS first time!

OMG, Carolyn! What an ordeal ds and you guys endured!!! Incredible! Holy! How's he doing today?

Jean, I've not heard of the 2nd movie. I'm not a big fan of hers either.
I'm used to ds not being here nowadays.:p

Grossly humid and cloudy. Showers this evening, thankfully. It's so droughty.
Thank goodness for holidays!
I'll try to do abs tomorrow with my workout. My pouch is grotesque.
Nighty night.

This humidity is gross! So sticky.

DD is off to a good start. We got her room set up, and had to run out for a few things and grab some lunch. Her roommate is from CA, and her parents are staying til Monday, but unfortunately she kept going off with her parents to do things. DD wanted to hang around and make friends but was feeling very nervous, so dh and I went for a walk around campus. I said we would hang around as long as she wanted, as I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to have dinner alone. There was a group activity at 8:15 but it was a long time until then. While we were gone she met some others on her floor and they had plans to hang out and have dinner together. So she was ready for us to leave. I was very sad on the way home, I guess it will get easier. And I am waiting a couple of days before I try to get in touch with her - so hard!

Carolyn, I hope ds is feeling better. What was he doing with the knife?

I think I will do legs & glutes today, I did xtrain ch0b-sh with core1 yesterday. Honestly it feels hard to breath in this weather.

Have a great day everyone!

Hiho. Lazy day at home. Ds had friends over from 11-4; we ordered pizza for lunch, and there is enough left for dinner.
I got up and did CCC. I've never really liked the Shock Cardio series. I picked it for the core work but nearly ejected it a few minutes in. I subbed planks several times when Cathe was doing mountain climbers and whatnot.
I'm trying not to drink coffee daily so that I won't get addicted but on a no-drinking day like today my head feels funny. I only want the caffeine oomph on a workday, and on weekends having it with dh.
The weather is just grotesque. We are buttoned up at home with the a/c on since yesterday.

Mary, you and dh had a nice relaxing move-in day with dd, unlike what it's like at ds' school. Quickly move in and leave. Traffic, congestion, no place to park....
It's ok to text her occasionally. I actually started texting with ds freshman year. It was very useful.
More importantly, how is she doing?

Carolyn, I feel for your niece! That should be one of the only things that are screened--party animals and night-owl vs early-birds.
How's ds today? All forgotten?

You're bored?! Dh and I have the most relaxing day in a while. He watched golf. I read. (Ugh, football season is gearing up:confused:.)

Do you have aloe to put on the poison ivy? The dogs are immune to it??

Quick check in to report I did CSS today. I'm on my second walk at work right now. I did my first 4h on mom baby and then I got sent to cardiac. I miss my babies ;( Alright off to call my baby before he heads to bed.

Good morning, friends. It is sunny, hot, and muggy. So gross. One more day of humidity, I hear. But the heat will stay.
I am feeling core doms from my plank dips.

Jean, I'm certain that I'll come home from my physical with an order for a colonoscopy! How did dh go this long without one?! I dread it.
How in-depth do you gals discuss the books? I was asked once to join one and I don't think I'd like it so I declined but I am a huge lover of books.
Yup, CCC is a bit too much jumping around. So I either half-a$$ it or sub kickbox leg kicks, my all-time fave.
High five for using and liking maple syrup on your coffee! Sugar is one of the most highly-processed foods in this country.

Carolyn, I think the new workouts will continue with the familiar tabata or HiiT moves that we've had for a while, so sub low-impact moves. Cathe is behind last year on the filming. Unless they've done it and will tell us after.
I like the weights aspect and miss it so. I think I should slowly incorporate it back, just bis--tris are still a bit difficult.

Carolyn, that just stinks about the insurance not covering it! Will you get one anyway? If so, they'll charge you a self-pay price, which is probably less than the one billed to insurance.
Ds says if the window doesn't pop up on the screen, press the Start menu to search for it. Or try plugging your phone in again to trigger it.

So my physical yielded weight gain since March:confused:. And summer is usually a lighter-than-winter weight. Serves me right for indiscriminately popping things in my mouth. My stomach is hanging out like there's no tomorrow and feels so bloated. I wonder if it was the Kashi I had for lunch.
And holy, was the mammo painful. Doesn't help that my shoulders lift up just so.
My doc ordered a foam cream for this itch I've been having. At the pharmacy, the man said $40. I asked, that's with insurance?? I elected not to get it.

I did AB this morning. Barefoot and all :)

Ds and I went to Toddler Tuesday at the Mall of America. He met the Llama character from the book Llama Llama Red Pajama and then they read stories. He got a paper crown and hasn't taken it off since...except for nap. He is a goof :)

Tomorrow we have his first toddler class. We are so excited!

Mary- Sounds like dd is off to a good start. She will have some lifelong friends before long. Thinking of you. I know how proud you are but it is oh so hard at the same time.

Jean- Good luck to your husband tomorrow. I heard the prep is the worst of it all.

Carolyn- Ugh insurance is so lame sometimes. That really stinks!

Betty- CCC?!!!! You're a rockstar. I should break that one out but the dread factor is just SO much.

I have never heard of the Llama and Giggle books! LOVE children's books!
B sounds adorable. My kids wouldn't wear that:p
Marie, do you stay with himin toddler school?

Carolyn, you completely read my mind! Very recently I've been looking down at my legs and thinking, what on earth?? The skin is so loose and flabby. Even as I work the legs (endlessly, it seems).
I felt like voicing to my doc that I'm not THAT old, but between flabbiness and loss of youthful hormonal benefits, what gives??
I need to put the iron lock back on my mouth!

T-storms moving through the area. I hear thunder. Come on rain! Don't dissipate before you reach us!

Carolyn- I can't believe I've never heard of them. We frequent the library every week and read tons every day. They are on my list now thank you! I love that your kids loved Spot and Llama too :)

Betty- It's a 2 hour class and we separate for a half hour. The kids play and have a snack and the parents have a discussion with a parent educator in another room. It's so fun and good for B.

Omg Carolyn! That is such sad news! I'm so sorry :( Life is so unpredictable and unfair at times. We must enjoy every moment....like that ice cream. I had pizza tonight and it was amazing! :)

Off to bed....STS Legs in the AM.

Hi there. I tried several times to get on before work this am and the site was down. I did a High Step Ch premix, untouched for a long time! It was refreshingly different.
I then worked till 3. My mind was scattered in a million different directions so that even though I left, I feel like I forgot to do something.
I've been going to TJM/M evidently too often because I can't find anything to buy!:p (Remember in CA?? I've never come home empty-handed from the CA stores in over 10 years!) But I need to go again, just to check out what's there, and also to return something dh got.
Carolyn, I just saw in the news yesterday about the plane crash. Was it a small Cessna? Two men died. So sad. I'm sorry for them and those who knew them.
It's warm but not humid today. Love it.
You're so right about obsessing over flab and wrinkles (but damn, wth??). At least we have our health.
Got to go pay bills now.

Marie How did you sleep last night at the hospital?.

Jean I totally forgot to answer this. I actually slept well thank you! I was more prepared this time. I showered in the locker room and then got a room at the end of the hallway so it was more quiet. The room I had before had a shower which was nice but it was down a hallway where others were. I also had my own pjs and used my phone's sleep fan app and I had my eye mask. I also unplugged the bed. The beds move and readjust pressure every time you move which is super annoying. This bed was a newer version so I was able to unplug it without the entire mattress deflating. I of course prefer my own bed but I like that extra hour of sleep :)

First off let me start by saying B just pooped in the toilet for the first time. We haven't officially started potty training but I'm thinking we should now. Proud mama here!

I did STS Legs Week 4 this morning and then made it to our toddler class by 8:30. B did so good! He is such a good boy. I am so proud of him!!! Then we met friends at the Humane Society to look at the animals. Needless to say, little dude loved it :)

Carolyn- Hope your neck is better. Nice job on your workout! Have fun at Sam's. I'm going to Costco tomorrow....love that place :) Thanks for the name of the author.

Betty- Nice job pulling out the lesser used workouts.

Don't you wonder why in medical emergencies the body gives out just at that moment when you're piloting a car or plane?? Why not when he was in the ground?? It was literally seconds after the plane became airborne! (Cellphone video of a witness)
Do you have a knobby foam roller? Try that on your neck. Lie on floor with your neck on top of it. I can't believe how mine gets to the pain no heating pad or massaging fingers can!

Marie, WOW! That's amazing B can do it already! He is such a cherished boy so of course he's adjusting beautifully to everything he tries!;) Thanks for reminding me of those day-to-day moments with our little ones!
(Carolyn, that was an ingenious method for the portable potty! Wish I had known you gals a couple of decades ago!)
That's a whole lotta things to consider to get a good night's rest at the hospital.

Jean, sorry to hear about your sister's dog, your mom, and the anniversary.:(
We taught our boys to stand and go. Both or one of my sil did the sitting and I remember thinking it was so odd. But whatever works for your family; there's not a right way.
Ten years is awesome! I need to make my appt.

Carolyn, enviable copay!!!

Dh and I walked for a half hour tonight. I held off on any ice cream since I'd get to the size a cow if I don't watch my eating.:p

Good morning! Back to the school year grind! Hate it. Must adjust my schedule to go to bed earlier, but I never do! I can't seem to shut off my light until nearly 11:30. 11:00 or earlier is optimal. I should first start with getting dinner on the table earlier.
I should do a UY today because my body could use it but I am busy with food shopping and errands. Have to do henna too.:p That'll take a chunk of time.
Need to go hang laundry.
Carolyn, I make my boys wipe down the toilet sometimes with Clorox wipes. It's eye-opening. If it's his own bathroom, that's perfectly reasonable.
