STS first time!

Funny you should ask...we're actually in the process of getting ready to announce my next video project, so more details will have to wait till then. But its a really awesome series!!!! For now I can share that there will be 10 new DVD's containing both cardio and strength training workouts and the name of the series is XTRAIN. The idea for this series was born out of listening to everyone’s feedback and suggestions about STS and another older favorite – Cross Train Xpress. XTRAIN takes the best of both STS and Cross Train Xpress and merges the two concepts, but of course with an updated approach and improvements. We will have shorter weight workouts than STS too.

But to answer your question - all of the strength workouts will focus either on building lean muscle (aka..hypertrophy) and/or muscle endurance. I'll be mixing a wide variety of rep ranges in XTRAIN that vary from 10 reps and upward. I'm also following an Undulating Periodization plan (just a fancy term meaning we constantly mix things up) in XTRAIN instead of a Linear Periodization plan like we did in the original STS program. So these are just a few changes you will see. I'm so excited to film these. Happy Friday!

I just got the Oxygen Glutes special today. Flipped through and looked at the pictures...looks like there is some good stuff in there. Off to do To The Max, shower, and then I can read it!!!

Jean---I am not sure if this is the right way, but this is how I did it!

This is if you are quoting someone in another thread.

1.highlight the post
2.right click and click copy or hit ctrl and c at same time (copys it).
3. When you are at the place you would like it: right click and click paste or ctrl and v at same time (paste's it)
4. Look at top of posting screen- there is a piece of yellow paper---hover over it it says quote--- click it (it should--mark it quote in front and behind the text (you may have to highlight it again, first)

If in same thread---click on quote at bottom of there post and I think it will let you do it there.

Anagin, I am not sure if this is the right way, but this is my way!!! I am not a computer person either!!!

BTW---just finished To The Max---drenched! I am so in love with this DVD. It leaves me wanting to do it again, and again, and again!!! :p
 
Carolyn---That is right!!! We will be in the best shape of our life! Muscles here they come! Fit bodies here they come! Hehehehe :D
 
So pumped about these new workouts! Oh wow! Totally preordering :) Had a great day here in Duluth. Jean- it takes me a good 3 hours. So fun to hang out with my niece. She is so sweet and getting so big. Great to see my sis too. We had the aunts, uncles, gpa and cousins over today too. And lots of good food! Too much! Oh well....gotta enjoy that stuff every once in awhile. Alright time to hit the hay.
 
Hey there,
For those interested, I am 41, live in Los Angeles, with 2 kids. Main problem is finding the time to workout, since I work full time. In the past, I found that creatine really enhanced my strength while doing regular (daily) workouts, especially with push-ups and upper body strength. Based on your responses I will probably pick up a small area rug, and see what I can do to find something that will work for a chin-up bar. Thanks for the motivation and have a great weekend!
 
Good Morning and Happy Saturday! Up early, the dog had to pee!!! So, now I am going for a run!!!

Marie---Have fun and enjoy the family time! You can work off that food when you get home. And just think it is getting closer and closer till you more into the new apartment!!!

Meredith---I too work fulltime. I have 2 horses, 2 outside cats, 1 dog and 2 cats inside (they are my children). I have been with husband for 12 years. I am 29 yrs old and live in thomasville, GA!!! I get up before work everyday and do 45-60 minutes of cardio on either the treadmill or elliptical. Then I work my 8 hr shift and come home cook dinner, do barn chores (very timely) and then do a Cathe DVD!!! I know it sounds like alot, but it keeps my happy!!! A day with no exercise and I become very Grumpy!!! So, you can do it! You are in the right spot. Motivation is key!! I could not stay so motivated without my forum friends!!!

Hello again! Did my morning run and then the hubby and I went for breakfast at this family owned diner. 2 eggs, bacon, and wheat toast for me. Then went and got 20 bales of hay! Got some weight training in there! hahaha. Those bales keep getting heavier and heavier! Now I am off to the post office and grocery store!

Oh...Carolyn--I am so sorry the monster is visiting. The monster just left me 2 days ago!!! I know how you are feeling. Just eat some advill and get down to the basement and get your workout in. You will feel much better afterwards!! :)

Don't ignore me....do your workout!!! Our fit bodies are counting on these workouts!!! You can do it!!!!!! :D:eek::p

Jean---hahaha :p Those bales of hay are HEAVY!!!! After lifting 20 bales onto the truck, and 20 bales into the hay barn....You arms are burning!!!! 40 total lifts at 50-60 pds a piece. That is a workout!!!!

My hubby and I are going to a drag race tonight. We will eat dinner at the house and leave about 5:00. On the way, we must stop at this fruit stand; to see what they have that I might want. They are having fireworks after the races tonight!!! It should be fun. It will be hot though. Hopefully I can make it! I do enjoy going to the races with my husband, but I never complain even if it is hot since he always supports all of my "fitness" purchases. He is the best!!!! :)

So post away so I will have something to read when I get home!!!!

I will be exercising before we go. I did to the max yesterday...so what am I doing today??????

Carolyn---what workout did you do? I hope the new dvd's come out soon too. Maybe she will work on them hardcore and we will have them by the holidays!!!
 
Okay, quick post before I leave...... I just finished B&G.

Carolyn---Good job, for getting your workout in. If you really need the ice cream, you deserve it. You worked out hard this week. And, we are going to get a ice cream cone on the way to the races!!!! I have not indulged in ice cream is so long. I will let you know if I do!

Meredith have you started your 1rm's yet? Meso 2 has alot of chin ups also. What do you do for cardio?

Hi Jean, yes, I did most of the 1RM tests a few days ago. That's a good question about the cardio. I probably won't do too many Cathe's because I'll probably want to mix it up. Lately I've been doing a lot of the really old Firms (like today I did Super Cardio Mix), which is kind of good because I haven't done them in so long, I don't know what's coming up and and I tend not to cheat the moves :) It's a lot of plyometrics tho. Whatever I do, I'm going to do something different each time until I run out of cardio.

Carolyn, that's for the compliment! You're very sweet, but that picture is a bit old. I should update it.
 
Hey all! Having fun in Duluth. Loving this time with my niece and sis. No workout today although we did go for a 4 mile walk. Did a lot of hanging by the lake. Very relaxing! Off to bed now. See ya tomorrow :)
 
Hello girls!
We are driving home from minneapolis airport right now. I can't wait to get home! I tried to read posts on my blackberry when I was down there but my internet service was spotty. It was especially tough loading cathe's site for some reason. At one point I had this whole post typed out and then right as I went to hit submit I lost it all! I was like NOOOOOO!!! AHHHH!! Typing on this thing ain't easy!
I'll check in tomorrow and write lots more. :) TTYL!
 
Good Morning! We did not get home till 11:00 last night. Super late for me! We had fun though. The firworks were awesome!!! I did have a vanilla softserve icecream cone. It was yummy. I had my ice cream for the year!!!

It was so stinking hot yesterday. We walked around alot, looked at all the race cars, watched racing, and fireworks!!! Quality time with my man!!! He had alot of fun, so I was happy!!!

Now onto Cathe.....What workout am I doing today? Thinking????

Marie---Sound like you are having fun in Duluth! Have a safe trip home.

Colleen---Can't wait for you to tell us about your trip. We all missed you alot!!!

Oh, BTW....when we were walking around or sitting in the stands yesterday I was people watching and OMG, the amount of obseity was unbelievable!!! Also, the amount in children was terrible. And, the parents just giving the kids fatty treats like snow cones, ice cream, candy bars, funnel cakes, etc. I just wanted to scream. These kids don't know any better. And they are going to grow up and be fat from the start. I just get so mad, that these parents don't care. It's there health going in the toliet so young!!! The parents need to be educated on health and fitness, but they are fat themselves and probably don't care. It's aweful. Okay, not that I vented!!! :mad:
