STS first time!

Thanks Carolyn! Yikes I'm scared! Ok maybe I'll still to SJP or Step Blast tomorrow. I should probably preview the low impact versions before attempting. Even those sound intense. I would hate to start it and not be able to finish or have to modify. I have trouble telling myself to do that so I have just been picking easier workouts. No Imaxes, CCC, or ones similar to those.

Just being lazy over here watching TV. I have tomorrow off :) YAY!

Gorgeous day here! Where is everyone?

Marie, enjoy your day off from work!

Missy, hope your monthly friend is not so agonizing, like last month when you hardly posted for a week.

I have a ton of errands to run, so catch y'all later. Just thought I'd give you something to read:D.

Good Morning all!

I am here. Just been very busy with work. My menstral monster is here, but is being half kind. I have low abdominal cramps, but nothing i can't handle. I am extremely bloated and feel fat!!! That sucks! Hopefully in a few days the bloating will go away and I will feel better.

Hopefully everyone has a lovely day. BBL!!!

Yoga for me today. Felt good to get a good stretch in after Crossfile and To the Max.

We are heading down to the Cape after dinner for a long weekend. I am hoping traffic clears out by then. Chatham does a great 4th of July parade, and it passes right in front of our house so we get up in the morning and set out chairs so nobody takes up our lawn. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Guy did not show up today to work on the bathroom...grrr. It is almost done, I just want it finished.

Yes we also have an in-ground pool, it was here when we bought the house. It is great for the kids, and I get a summer sitter so they can stay home and use it while I work. When it gets really hot I love to cool down at the end of the day.

I hope everyone has a great 4th, and stay cool! I am bringing Crossfire with me, it seems doable without much equipment.

Busy, busy, leading up to a holiday! Ironic, isn't it?

Mary, have a fantastic time in Chatham. That sounds amazing, front seats for the fireworks! We didn't want to go down for one night and one day. Having a holiday midweek doesn't make for a long weekend:(. Good for you for bringing CrossFire (I'm going to try that in the am)! And doing yoga.

Marie, way to go doing SJP while pregnant. You are admirable! In the past I've found SJP too jumpy for my knees, and oh, those endless, endless squats and lunges! Cathe was sooo perky when she filmed this one!

Carolyn, I don't have PH, but look forward to doing HR, STS TB, etc, after one go-around with STS. You probably didn't have a chance to try HC today. I still haven't looked at the clips of that yet. I'm sure it's something I wouldn't want to tackle--sounds hard!

Jean, I hear you about legs. I dreaded them. Once you start, though, you'll get through it, a minute at a time. I'm thinking, as my body ages, I'm going to head toward lifting for UB, and shy away from cardio/legs. We'll see. I was afraid of these new workouts, but so far, TTM is just fine!

Missy, relax on your day off! Enjoy!

Have a great 4th, everyone! We have officially known each other for 7 months!

Good Morning and Happy 4th!!!

Nice to have a day off mid week!!! :)

Today, is CSS for me!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely 4th and don't eat too much!!! If you do just make sure you pay Cathe a visit!!! :p

Okay, off to workout!!! BBL!

Marie---I would be highly upset too. First off, its your workout space, your dvds, your exercise items. So, she should have respected that when you are there you come first....she should also be thankful that you are letting her use your stuff!!! Not all people would be as nice as you are. :D

I did do my hour of cardio this morning, then was cleaning, and just ate lunch. Yes, this evening I will do CSS with the bonus!!! Gotta get my burn on!!!

Off to rest for a few!!! BBL!!! :)

Slow forum day today...of course it is the 4th. I did CSS plus the bonus step this morning. I was late to my dad's for lunch since my workout started late (Thanks for understanding my complaint Missy! You rule!). Had fun time with my sister and the baby. She is getting is much bigger. She weighs 12lbs and is a lot more active and strong than last time I saw her. My stepmom made a really tasty wild rice salad with black olives, chicken, red peppers. pea pods, and cashews. She also made a healthier version of the broccoli salad you see at delis. So tasty! That was my lunch. I skipped the cheeseburgers :)

At work now. It was a slow steady day. All done with everything except one little thing. One of my patients is still up watching TV and I'm waiting for him to get tired and head to bed. Gotta change his Foley catheter.

Jean- Oh no! Can't let my hubby find out that info lol! He won't leave the couch ;)

Chat with ya all tomorrow!

Marie

Random thought...

I think I'll do one of those weight loss tickers when I'm trying to lose the baby weight. I would really like to lose 10-15lbs over the amount I gained. Losing 10lbs would get me back to the weight I have been for the past few years (I was at my heaviest weight when I found out I was pregnant, which is 10lbs over my usual weight. I was doing a lot of lifting at the time so I'm sure some of it was muscle but no way all 10lbs was!). I always lose an additional 5 in the summer and feel my best at that weight, so that will be my goal.

Ok I'm done talking to mself lol!

Good Morning ladies! At work, so busy. Just wanted to say hello.

Yesterday I did CSS and the bonus!!!

Today did my morning cardio and tonight is Total Body Trisets upper and lower!!!!

Carolyn---You have me wanting High Step Training. Looks like that will be my next investment!!!

Marie---You truely are amazing. Already thinking about your plan once the baby it born. That just states that you have it together and will always be HOT!!! High five to you! We will be here cheering you along with every ounce you lose!

Okay, I gotta go. Busy Busy the day after a holiday! BBL!

Hey everyone,

Yesterday was MAD humid! I was thinking as I was doing Cross Fire, if it's Wednesday, it must be humid! OMG, it was like working out with elephant hooves! I sweated buckets, and then for some reason didn't drink enough the rest of the day, so my head felt funny. Dumb, dumb, dumb! Today the weather is much more tolerable!

We had my sis-in-law's family (five) guests from 3:30 till 11 pm, but we didn't know until late morning they were all coming. Food shopping was done after noon. Mostly grilling, so no biggie. We had the A/Cs on all day. It was totally airless outside, not a lick of a gross breeze. I was coveting the rain Boston got, literally right over the fireworks! Not a drop here.

Marie, I was fuming at your story! You have every right to feel the way you do! The nerve of her to avail herself of your gym, your equipment! She should've first asked permission to use your stuff, and should ALWAYS check with you first to see if you'll be working out before she steps in! OMG! People just take their freakin' liberties!

Ugh, I just hung my sheets on my line outside, only to turn around to take them right off! Neighbors' mowers are here. And they're sitting outside eating lunch first! Actually two neighbors' mowers are due today!

Oh, as for Cross Fire, it was doable, likable, but I don't like the 180 degree jumps, and am liking less and less anything done with the sliding discs:eek: I'll have to reassess my opinion when I do it on a less humid day.

Please pardon MY rant today!:D

Good Afternoon! I have been so busy. No time to chat.

Jean--- I weighed last week and stayed the same. I did cheat and get on the scale this week and had gained a few pounds. But, My muscles were extremely sore after I did the 2 new dvd's back to back and I was bloated from my period. So, my husband said I deserved it!!! Cheating! So, I am not weighing for another week. I have finally come to terms with....the # is not everything. So, I am going by measurements now. I have been taking measurements since January 2012. I have lost alot of inches. I will have to total them up tonight to let you know my past success. I am going to still weigh once a week, but I am not going to stress over a few pound weight flucuation. I am just really focused on losing some inches in my thighs. So we will see how this month goes. I do have a really tough schedule of workouts this month. I am loving it!!!

Okay, back to work. I will be back later!!!

Jean, the weather sounds horrible where you are! I hope it cools off! It's very upsetting to hear of these extreme temperatures harming people! Is it the same hot for you, Missy?

Marie, enjoy this weekend with your mom, sis, and niece! Marie, don't sweat the food--you're eating for two! You eat healthy anyway.

Missy, that's a healthy attitude to adopt--don't worry about a few lbs' fluctuation. It's how you fit those clothes, and how you feel. I bet you're radiant!

Carolyn, Mary, Colleen--hi!

Really My First Time

I thought this was a thread for people starting STS for the first time. It looks more like a daily check-in :) Anyway, after owning the series for over three years... I finally did the 1RM test for most of the three, four and five star exercises (quite a workout in itself!) today and plan to start on Monday. Anyone else starting STS that I could check in with?

BTW, I did try the workouts before, just not with the 1RM test. I am nervous that even at 60% of the 1RM, I will have trouble keep up with Cathe's speed. We'll see.

Hello from Cape Cod!

Yesterday started with a bit of overcast weather and sprinkles, but the parade went off without a hitch. So many floats for the 4th, and Chatham is celebrating its 300th anniversary, so a great time. But hot and humid!

No workout for me yesterday. I kept thinking I would do it later, but it got so hot, and I was eating alot of junk, chips and stuff, a little alcohol, so gave myself a break. Then this morning I was feeling kind of yucky so did Crossfire - low impact premix. It was great to be able to do Cathe here, and I started feeling like my regular self. I didn't have any sliding disks so I just did regular pushups, and all went well. I can't get over how wonderful it is to get a great workout in without going to the gym.

Marie, I would have been enraged to find the girlfriend working out when I wanted to. She should have at least checked with you first.

Sounds like everyone had a good 4th. I am planning a long walk for tomorrow. But there are too many temptations for food around here, and cocktails start at 5 - hard to resist.

Meredith, most of the people in this thread completed STS a few months ago. Jean is doing another round right now. You might try starting a new thread to find others who are interested in starting STS along with you.

Good evening! Just a quick minute, I still have to do Total Body Trisets! Just finished washing my truck, it was dirty!!!

Meredith---Hope you enjoy STS this time around. I started STS earlier this year without doing my 1RM and ended up stoping. Then I did the 1 RMs and started over. I enjoyed it much more with the # in front of me so I wasnt guessing. Like jean said, you are more than welcome to stay with us. We all just adore one another and chat about anything and everything.

Jean---So I started this journey in Novemebr 2011---I started measuring January 29, 2012. Since then I have lost 29 1/2 inches!!! WOW!!! Thats awesome!

Betty---It is horrible (the heat) It has been in the 100's for days! It is so bad you do not want to go outside. I sure hope Colleen is having better weather!

Okay, off to workout. BBL!!!

Carolyn---I can't say I will not be affected by the number. I just am not going to go crazy over a few pounds up. I am still going to weigh once a week. Just not 3 to 4 times a day!!! hehehe
I think I am so addicted to the scale because for so long I wanted it to go down, and now it finally did. I just don't want it to go up again. Which, I know it will never get to that point again, since Cathe is now in my life!!!! And, of course my forum friends!!! Thanks to you girls, I can now discuss health and fitness with people who understand. :D

BTW--- I think we were posting at the same time again.

Total inches: 29.5 so far since January!!!

Okay, so I just finished Tri Sets. Drenched and lovin it!!! Off to shower. Be back soon!

Carolyn---I am sure you are seeing muscle definition now. I am sure people are just jelous that they arn't skinny. And who cares what other people think. What matters is what you think (and of course the hubby) I too what that muscular look. I am working on that myself!!!! :p

Okay, off to shower now!!!

Thanks everyone, for being so welcoming! And congratulations to everyone who has completed STS one or more times already. I'm sure I'm going to have LOTS of questions for you ;) I already have a few:

I don't have the chin-up bar. If anyone else is in this situation, what did you do as a substitute exercise?

I am also wondering about the paper plate exercises. I now have the discs that came with the Low Impact Series. However, I have a workout room floor padded with those foam interlocking floor coverings. The discs don't move well on this (either with or without the coverings), and neither do paper plates. I thought about getting a small area rug to put over the floor covering. (Yet another piece of "equipment" :)). Is anyone else in this situation?

Did anyone supplement with creatine to increase their strength gains more? I have done this in the past (on other programs) with success and was considering doing it again.

Thanks for your thoughts on these matters!

Good Afternoon Everyone! I have been so busy at work! It's crazy!

Carolyn---I was reading all the posts and was going to tell you to get your butt moving, and the next post was you stating you finished! You know putting w/o's off just leads to not doing them. You did good though..... I am doing To the Max tonight!!! Looking forward to it, as it is my favorite too!!!

Marie---Have a safe trip and have lots of fun!

Meredith---I too have the foam mats. When it comes to the discs, I either modify and don't use them which normally makes the exercise high impact, or I more the foam matts and use the carpet under them. Just depends. As for the tower, I have the tower so I dont have any suggestions. And, I don;t take that supplement. But, if you have good results with it, then go for it. And do tell!

Jean---You are the best when it comes to researching things for us girls. Thanks for always taking the time. Also, I am always the first one up in our house regardless of the day. So, I would not know about laying in bed. My husbands is sure good at it though!!! hahaha :p

Okay, back to work. Check in later!!!
