STS first time!

Stalling alert! A half hour later and I'm still not in the basement. Had to check the forums one more time haha! Congrats to your girlfriend Colleen. That is very exciting! Carolyn you're probably just about done with your workout...jealous! Ok I'm going to workout now.....

Colleen---My monthly is coming too. I will be misrable in a day or so.

Carolyn---Did you make it? Can you get up off the floor? I'm sure you finished and feel awesome!!!! :p

Marie---You better get a move on....;)

Good Afternoon!

Jean---I am so happy for you. I love the water myself. I moved to Georgia 7-8 years ago from South Florida. I actually was only 30 miles form the coast and lived on the river. I can honestly say I don't miss Flordia. But, I do miss the water. My husband and I were out on the water every weekend between April-August. Now, we have to drive a good bit to get to nice water. We are actually planning on taking the boat out in a few weeks. I am looking forward to it. On another topic.....I am also a homebody. We do not travel much. I enjoy being at home too.

Okay....The biggest loser.....I will watch the finale. I will watch the next show...but, if they do not get any better contestants....I will seriosly have to think out giving it up. This season was just full of drama. They do not show them workout like they did in the past. Maybe it's because Jillian is gone???? Something has went wrong.

Okay...back to work. BBL! :)

Carolyn you should try alternating weeks of STS with me! It's been a blast! Perfect balance between having some structure, getting some heavy weight work and yet still giving a little bit of freedom and fitting in Cathe's other great workouts. Especially the circuit workouts but also her lower body focused ones. It's so hard to try and fit a second lower body workout in and still get enough cardio...although those lower body discs usually have a pretty good cardio factor for me!

I'm so psyched...I just had a second girlfriend tell me she's also expecting! Two in the same day! That baby fever is kicking in strong today!

Just finished 85 minutes on the treadmill!

I have such DOMS in my lower body, I was trying to give myself a break, but got sucked into the treadmill. Tomorrow I have Disc#3 Legs!!!!!

Colleen---That's so exciting when you order something new. Now, when you receive the DVD and turbo tower...you will be in exercise heaven!!! I am looking to buy something new....can't decide if I want Intensity series of the STS squat DVD's? Can't decide.

Okay, off to shower and then play with my princess (dog). She needs some fetch time!!!! BBL!!! :D

Marie....You are one strong women. Doing the entire B&G while preg. You should be so proud of yourself!!!! You are an amazing women!!! Have fun tomorrow!!!

Good Morning ladies! I did my cardio this morning!

I had DOMS from B&G for 2 days!!!! I must have killed it! My butt feels better today, just in time for Disc#3.

Carolyn---drink away with the coffee. I am a tea girl! I live on unsweet tea. I would die without it!!!! :D

Okay...at work. Thankfully its Friday!!!!:p

BBL!!!!

Hey girlies!

Today was a rest day for me. I have re-affirmed the fact that I should avoid kneeling exercises whenever possible. I hadn't done this particular pilates dvd in probably 2 years so I forgot what it all involved. As I was doing it I realized it had lots floorwork done while kneeling. The idiot that I am, I thought "oh, I'll just do it, I've got the cushioning from this mat...maybe it'll be fine..." Well, no. Not only do I have chondromalacia but I realize now I also get prepatellar bursitis (otherwise known as housemaids knee) when I do anything involving being on my knees. My knees were slightly puffy on top of my kneecaps yesterday and somewhat sore. They seem better today but I'm just going to take it easy. Sigh. No fair.:( Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow...I was planning on trying High Step Challenge for the first time (got it in a trade months ago), but now I might opt for something more low impact...

As far as protein shakes, I do drink them. For awhile I would have them as my breakfast and drink half before my workout and the other half afterwards. I actually have slacked off on that lately and I feel like I can tell a difference. It really helps with preserving and building muscle and keeping you lean. I do use whey protein but I've used all different kinds. Now lately I've been trying out products that are unflavored so as to avoid artificial sweeteners and the like. I haven't quite settled on a favorite yet though. I did find a really cool plant protein powder on Swanson's that I've been using in addition to whey and it's super natural and healthy. Here's the link if anyone's interested: https://www.swansonvitamins.com/LFT009/ItemDetail it also comes in chocolate, vanilla and berry flavors for those who aren't big on the greens. It tastes really delicious though! I like to add all different kinds of ingredients depending on what I have in the house: pomegrante juice, acai juice, greek yogurt, kefir, almond or coconut milk, bananas, frozen blueberries, chia seeds, chocolate peanut butter...you name it I've tried it in my protein shake! I even put some cold coffee in once to make a sort of iced coffee shake! It was delish!:D

Have a great trip Betty! I can't wait to hear about Italy when you get back! I love to travel but boy is it stressful to fly these days since 9/11! It takes all day just to get where you need to go even if it's just in the United States, not to mention dealing with customs and all that. Stay hydrated on that airplane and get lots of rest! I always make sure to bring artificial tears (like Refresh tears) on flights because my contacts get so incredibly dried out in those planes!

Have fun in Colorado Marie! Give that baby lots of kisses!:D

Great job on the elliptical Jean! I've been window shopping online for ellipticals again! Not that I can afford it right now though.

Carolyn- do you ever take naps? I feel like I could use one today! Having a puppy is just like having a newborn! I bet your feeling that!;)

Have a great Friday ladies!

Oh Carolyn- I forgot to mention about my alternating weeks thing. I've been pyramiding back down through STS so I'm currently alternating Meso 2 with weeks of circuit and kettlebell workouts. So on a week where I'm doing STS I'll do it like I was, the 3 STS workouts plus 2 cardio only dvds on my non-STS days. Then the following week I'll do workouts like Drill Max, Circuit Blast, Athletic Training and various kettlebell dvds. Sometimes I'll do just cardio on those weeks too though if I feel like it...like maybe a step workout or kickboxing. I kind of just go with my mood to some extent. When I get to the last week of Meso 2 workouts (which will be the next week I think) then after my circuit week I'm planning on alternating yoga dvds with pure cardio ones for the rest week. Then I'll start up with Meso 1 the same way.

I have all my workouts listed on the workout manager...is there a way you can look on there to get an idea of what I'm doing better? I'm not sure how that works..

Hi Ladies!

I am repeating Meso 3 week 1, so I finally was able to do disc 25 today. It felt great, my weights were right on target. I wasn't sure how it would go since I haven't lifted weights in almost 2 weeks. One reason I have been feeling so out of it all week, aside from coming back from vacation, is that I haven't been able to get in my workouts. I really missed my Cathe! I hope now I can get back to my routine, and I am looking forward to plyo legs tomorrow.

Betty, have a great trip! From everything I've heard and read, Italy is a great place to visit.

Marie, hope you have a great trip too. Enjoy that little baby! Good practice for your own.

I tried a protein powder a few years ago and couldn't stand the taste, too sweet and artificial. It discouraged me from ever trying another one.

Jean your new property sounds fabulous. I plan to retire near the ocean some day, but its a long way off.

Aw, thank you for the compliment Jean!:D:eek: That's sweet of you to say! I've only tried the greens powder so far and it was really delicious. I was so surprised, I even got Mark to have some and he liked it! I made sure to add pomegranate juice and blueberries in it to mask the green color...lord knows if I gave him a green shake he'd refuse to try it outright!;) I really want to try the chocolate flavored one. I'm a sucker for anything chocolate! That's the one sweet thing I love is dark chocolate...I can live without other sweets but give me my chocolate! I don't care for milk chocolate though...I love the bitter dark stuff. Mmmmmm...

Good luck with Meso 3 Mary! I'm always anxious to get back to my workouts after a vacation! It's like I'm going through withdrawal!

Great job on the disc 1 push ups Carolyn! I'm really curious to see how I'll do in Meso 1 after all this time. I hear you on the body betrayal. It stinks when my body won't do what I want!

I think I'm going to do Trisets total body today instead of High Step Challenge. We'll see how it goes.

Better get off the computer, I gotta get Lydia to dance class!
TTYL

Good Morning ladies! I am not feeling so well today. My monthly monster is here and trying to kill me. I have not done my cardio yet, and so I feel even worse. I am going to the bank in a few minutes and then coming home to exercise. Regardless....

Be back soon!

Good morning!

I did disc 26 today, plyo legs. It is a great workout but boy, I had a tough time with it after all my time off. I feel great though now that I am getting back on track. I love how working out gives me more energy.

Missy, sorry you're not feeling well. Listen to your body, sometimes you do need a rest.

Carolyn, 6am is a little better right? Sounds like you have to be patient until he adjusts to your schedule. And I understand your feelings about your husband working so much. My husband works for another company but it seems like on the weekends he's always online working. I get mad when I feel like he's not doing his share with the kids.

Colleen I loved TBT and I am anxious to get back to that one when I'm done with STS.

Do you guys have Slow&Heavy? Its a really good deal of the day, but is it worth it if we have STS?

Hello. I am still alive. My period has been hell since I was 17 yrs old. I have had nothing but trouble with it. I have had terrible cervical pressure/pain for my cramps. Today it was absolutely horrible. I did walk on the treadmill for 1 hr, thinking it may help. It has a little, but I know if I started doing anything "hardcore", I would be in a mess!

So with that being said....I am preparing some fresh veggies for dinner. My hubby wants to go the the "races" tonight. So, I am going to go with him. It is about a 45 minute ride from our house. There is an awesome fruit stand on the way.....they actually just opened today. So we are going to stop. It is at a farm, so everything they sell, they grow. I am getting some Georgia peaches!!!!:eek::eek: (they also make home made ice cream....it may be tempting...but I think I will be good, since I have not done my normal daily exercise) I go to this farm many times throughout the summer...so I will have other chances!!!!

Also, my stray cat that I have been taking care of (outside) is becoming more friendly. I am very excited about that. We named the cat Sylvestor....months ago....but I am not sure if it is a HE or SHE????? But, its name is Sylvestor...it looks just like sylvestor off of Tom & Jerry!!!!

We only have 2 more days of the April deal of the days....I am waiting to buy the intensity DVD's just in case something is on sale I want. hahaha :D

Okay, BBL!!!!:D

Carolyn---we were posting at the same time again!!!

Good minds think alike....I just took several advil!!!!

I did Trisets total body today...the whole thing! Wow, that's a long workout! I enjoyed it alot though. It's actually the first time I attempted the upper body portion since I got it. I kept grabbing weights that were way to heavy for this disc. I guess I'm so used to going heavy with STS! I would go too heavy and my form would suffer and I'd get all wobbly with the balance challenges and then it finally started to hit me half way through to go lighter. I think the next time I do that one it'll go better since I'm familiar with it now.

The hubby has been crabby since he woke up. He's been needling me all day because he's so cranky.... Man, I hate days like that with him. He gets in moods like that sometimes. It's not nearly as bad as it used to be but I'll tease him it's like he's on his period!:p Mostly I just try to avoid him on those days but today he decided to come into the bedroom while I worked out (which he knows I hates) and bug me. I about lost it! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent...

Better get something done today!

ETA: Missy, I'm still waiting for my period! :( If it's anything like last month, my knees should be totally back to normal the day after it starts. They are still all wonky.

Good Evening! I just returned from the races. It was actually nice to go and spend some time with my hubby.

Carolyn---My period is normally really bad the first 2 days and then it gets better. I have struggled with it my entire life. I started when I was 13. I use to stay home from school the first few days because it was so bad. I use to take B/C but it makes me so moody. My period now only last about 4 days. I also have had many procedure done to my cervix. I think maybe from all the "slicing and dicing" the DR's have done, it has created the painful menstration???? I am NO Dr...but, I know pain!!!! It is not normal cramps at all. But, I try to deal with it!

Colleen--Maybe yours will come soon so you knees will feel better. And vent away...that's what we are here for!!!! On, good subjects though...congrats on doing TBTs. I love that one. I also do it straight through. I feel like it gives you an awesome total body workout!!!

Well, I rested most of the day. So, tomorrow...I plan on doing my hour of cardio and B&G.

Okay....I will go for now...Good Night!!!!!! :)

I forgot....I went to our fruit stand and got some fresh tomatos and peaches!!!! :p

I already ate a peach for snack and it was so yummy! :)
