STS first time!

Morning everyone!

I wound up doing Cardio Supesets today. I just love that one! I always like doing the long premix with the bonus step but I had to stop a little early on the step portion and skip the cool down because I ran out of time. I can't wait until the kids are on summer break and I have more morning time! LIS is just the ticket when my knees are mad at me. I think part of the problem with the step aerobics is when I fumble around learning the routine I compromise my form and twist and turn my knees in ways I shouldn't. I think once I get the moves down in these workouts I won't have as much of an issue. My knees feel pretty good right now so...yay!

Missy- I can't wait to see the pictures of you after STS if you do a success story! How fun!:D

Marie- have fun at lunch with your friend! I miss my optometry school girlfriends so much. Even my undergrad and high school friends I rarely see because we are all so scattered:(. It's so fun to catch up. When we do get together I practically lose my voice with all the chatting!

Eva- congratulations on almost finishing Meso 1! Thankfully, there are very few push ups after that mesocycle!

Carolyn- do not feel bad about banishing the kids from your workout space and telling them to leave you be! We need that alone time or else we'll go batty! I've been known to lose it when they constantly come in and bug me over and over:eek:. I try to be patient some days (when I'm able to control the urge to freak out!;)). This Sunday we had my nephew and two nieces up for the weekend and the 3 girls decided it was pretty cool that Auntie Colleen was exercising (Lydia, Jossie and Anna are all between 4 and 5 years old). Come to think of it, that might have been partly why my knees were tweaky after BM2...I was pretty distracted when they kept coming in the room to watch! Then when I got to the weights they decided to workout with me...grabbing all my stuff, digging for the 2 and 3 lb dumbells are rarely use anymore and using my resistance bands to "work out". It was pretty funny, luckily I was in a good enough mood to just go with it!:D

Betty- thank you for the compliment regarding my juggling act!:D It is challenging, but I find the thing that helps me the most is keeping a strict routine. I also keep my life as simple as possible...my only priorities are my family, my job and keeping fit. I know these other optometrists in town who own their own private practices, are involved in all the politics of the profession and do all kinds of side things...which is great to be all involved in the profession and the community and everything but I just couldn't handle having so many balls in the air. I'm a very simple girl that way.

Okay, gotta motor...later girls!

Good Afternoon! I just had the most amazing complment! I was walking through our office and passed by a drug rep.....on my way back to my office. She came up to me and said " I just have to ask....what is your secret?" I was shocked, I didn't even know what she was talking about. I was all wrapped up in what I was doing. So, I asked "what secret?" She was like " you look amazing...what are you doing?" So I then told her cardio and Cathe. She was blown away when I told her how much I had lost. Now, I am glowing. Compliments when you least expect them, make you feel awesome!!!

Just thought I would share...

Okay, so I have decided I am doing B&G tonight! I am looking forward to it!!! Can't wait!

Okay...gotta go!!!! :D

Thanks Colleen!

It's funny....because when you tell someone you work out to DVD's....they look at you....like, okay? But, they have never seen a Cathe workout!

I asked my husband yesterday if he wanted to join me, and do STS.....he stated very quickly....No, I can not keep up with you and Cathe. Ya'll will kill me! hahahaha :p

Missy- What an aweome compliment! That rules and you totally deserve it. Funny you mention the working out to DVD's thing. When I tell people that I know they think the same thing so I always have to mention Cathe's name and the fact that she gives me a better workout than anything at a gym. I was so glad to discover her and have no clue what I would do without her :)

Carolyn- I'm sure you look great but I know how you feel. Certain days I think whoa what the h*ll, I look scary and old and other days I'm good. Weird! I'm with Colleen and think you need to order CSS btw!

Colleen- I had a great time at lunch. I totally agree with you that I like to keep my life simple....family, friends, work and fitness....and soon enough kids :) YAY!

Almost off for the day. Hoping not to nap when I get home. I didn't sleep too well last night. I was in bed by 1am and then back up by 5:30am...yikes! Oh well....the paycheck will make it all worth it right :) Already going with no workout for the day. But tomorrow is a new day :)

Marie

Carolyn---You have to buy CSS. It is awesome! I absolutley love that DVD. I am so glad the puppy is growing on you! You know you love him already!!! I know how you feel about the pimple! I had a pimple on my chin last week, I kept messing with it the entire week. I am so glad it is finally gone! It probably would have been gone several days ago if I would have left it alone.

Marie---I think people are actually intimadated by Cathe...so they never give her a chance. It's there loss. Make sure you get enough rest! The baby is growing and needs it!!!! :)

I have 30 more minutes and I get to go home. I am cooking, eating, feeding animals, then off to exercise!!!! Then, The biggest Loser!!!!!

BBL!!!

Ha! I've been fighting pimples this week too! I blame the stress from driving to the conference a few weeks ago. It seems like whenever I get super stressed out my hormones get all unbalanced and I break out like crazy! I feel like I've been struggling to get my hormones in balance ever since that weekend but I probably won't normalize until after ttotm.:( I do not handle stressful situations all that well! Hence the simplified, boring, routine driven life!! Hee!

Good Evening! I did B&G tonight!

Jean---S&G---Slide and Glide! I watched Biggest Loser tonight......I was surprised that alot of the prior contestants hadn't lost more weight. I think this has been the worst group of fat people to go on the show!!!

I am exhausted, off to bed. Be back tomorrow!!!

Have a nice evening!

Good Morning! I had trouble getting up this morning! I only got a 35 minute run. So, I will have to make it up tonight!!! Disc#2 tonight! I am so excited to be doing STS again. I really missed the heavy lifting. I always thought I was a cardio freak....but, I think I am a weight freak too. Looks like I am just an exercise Nut!!! hahaha :p

Carolyn---I always do the entire B&G. Yes, its long (78 minutes). But, after you complete it....you feel amazing! I really enjoy it! :p

Okay, gotta run!!! BBL! :D

Carolyn----I forgot....Yes, the chocolate could be the pimple problem!!! But, a girl has to indulge sometimes!!! :)

Hi Everyone!

We got back from Mexico Monday night. We had the best vacation ever! We stayed in 2 different resorts, and the first one had a beautiful beach with clear blue/green water and fun waves. We just relaxed and hung out for a couple of days. Then one day we did an excursion, starting off with visiting some Mayan ruins. Then snorkeling in a lagoon, then zip-lining, then canoeing, then lunch in a local Mexican restaurant, then snorkeling through an underground cave, then snorkeling in a lagoon with beautiful colorful fish, and finally going to another beach and snorkeling with sea turtles. That day was exhausting but amazing at the same time, and the kids loved it. Then we switched to the 2nd resort which was a bit fancier but did not have as nice a beach. This place was right next to a place they call an Eco Theme park. So it had animals, and snorkeling down a river, a beach, stuff like that. So we swam with dolphins! Outrageously expensive as we had to buy the pictures that they took of us. Then we just relaxed again for a couple of days and spent Monday flying home. We are all still so tired!

I actually tried a stretching class on the beach one day but it was unbelievably hot and I just wanted to go in the water. So we swam alot. And eating was not so good, oh well.

I am still catching up with emails and laundry and work. I thought I would be able to repeat week 1 of Meso 3 but I don't think I will get to it until the weekend. And my kids have so many activities, I don't know how to get it all in. Last night one had soccer, one had softball, and the other one had basketball. Barely time for dinner and homework.

Another good thing about the trip was we had no internet or phone the whole time. So nice to spend time with my kids without them texting their friends or trying to get on the computer.

Looks like you ladies have been busy, I have not been able to read all the posts.
Carolyn, loved reading about your puppy, hope he settles down soon so you can get some sleep.
Missy, you deserve that compliment from that woman, you have been working so hard.
Betty you must be so excited about your trip, I have Italy on my list.

Will try to catch up later.

Good Afternoon! Just got back from lunch. 3 1/2 hrs till I can go home. I am looking forward to Disc#2 tonight.

Mary---It sounds like you have an amazing vacation. Sometimes it is nice to get away from life and just relax and enjoy!!!

Carolyn---Try to be good this afternoon! Just remember all those mini candy bars you had yesterday!!! hahaha  And, if you have too, just make sure you get a small!!!! :)

BBL!

Forgot to say, Colleen, as soon as I saw your post about the tower I hopped over to Walmart and it wasn't there anymore. So disappointing, I guess they go quickly!

And everyone's workout spaces look great! So fun to see what everyone is doing. I keep getting crowded out by other stuff so mine is just a hodge podge.

Good Afternoon ladies!
Well, I did Paul Katami's Bootcamp 4x4 today and once again I ran out of time and had to quit at the 52 minute mark (the workout is just over an hour). Sigh. It so dumb...all I would have to do is get up 15 minutes earlier but do you think I can do it? Nope.:( It was still a great workout though even though the last block got cut short. This blowing off the cool down/stretch thing is starting to become an entrenched habit:eek:. Oh well! I don't feel to worse for wear because of it. When I get to a rest week I think I want to do a lot of yoga...then again I keep saying that and then I get impatient with it!

Carolyn- I'm loving the alternating weeks thing with STS. It's just right for me right now and satisfies my cravings. Of course, now I'm starting to miss some of Cathe's total body strength workouts like High Reps and STS TB. This concept rotation will take me through most of the summer and then I think I want to do something different but I'm not sure what. I was thinking of focusing more on kettlebells but when I tried a kettlebell only rotation in the past I got really sick of them (I only lasted 2 weeks), plus I don't think there is any way I could go a whole month without doing any Cathe's!

Mary your trip to Mexico sounded fantastic!! I love Mexico so much but we've been a little nervous to go since the whole drug violence thing started getting so much press. We went to an all inclusive resort in Cancun in 2003 (before we had the kids) and it was so awesome. We visited the Mayan ruins of Chichen-itza (not sure if I spelled that right). It was so neat. That was when they used to let you go up the big pyramid and look at the sacred jaguar inside but I've heard they don't let people up there anymore. That's a bummer about the tower, I swear it went out of stock as soon as I bought it so I think I must have gotten the last one. I haven't received it yet though. It's supposed to be here around May 2. I can't wait! STILL haven't said anything to Mark yet, though...d'oh!

Missy- I usually only do the standing portion of B&G too! Sometimes I'll do selected parts of the rest of it but I loathe floor work for the lower body. So much of it involves being on your knees and I avoid that whenever I can. Plus I hate the ball hamstring roll ins! Those are okay if I do them with both feet but it puts a lot of strain on my knee if I try to do them one legged.

Betty- have fun on your trip! It's coming up fast! I'm so jealous;). Yes, you're right about the kids being home during the summer but they spend the days in daycare since we both work. I was just looking at some of these program flyers that Dylan keeps bringing home that would be so cool for them to participate in but it's impossible to do those things if you work! They have programs start in the morning and then you have to pick up the kids by noon...without busing I can't just leave work to go shuttle the kids to cool stuff like that. It ticks me off to no end! They wind up just doing stuff at the daycare, which luckily they do field trips and stuff but still...it's pretty boring for Dylan there in the summer now that he's getting older.:(

Okay, gotta go! TTYL

Colleen, I felt bad when my kids were younger and in day care too. Once they started school I got sitters for the summer, usually college age girls. They really liked it because they could plan some activities or stay home and have friends over. It made it easier on me too!

I have so much to do but I just don't feel like working!

Carolyn---I am so proud of you!!! You have some will power....If I ordered a pizza I would have dug in!!!

Colleen--May 2 will be here soon. When I ordered mine from Walmart.com it actually arrived 2 days earlier than expected! So you never know....;)

Hey there! Do any of you guys have Cathe's Low Impact Circuit workout? If you do what do you think of it? I was checking it out on collage and viewed Cathe's clip and it looks really good so now I'm curious!! The choreography doesn't look too bad either...I think I could handle it! It's the one where she is wearing a green and white top similar to the one she wore in Drill Max. TIA!

Good Evening!!! Just finished Disc#2 and 45 minutes on the elliptical. :D

Colleen---I have low impact circuit, I too do not like to complicated step. But, I do like this one. :p

Carolyn---Tomorrow, are you doing the entire B&G??? I know you can do it!!! It's 78 minutes!!! and it has an amzing ab workout at the end!!!! :D

Okay, off to shower......

One more thing, I think everyone should have a mirror to workout in front of. I think I am more focused on my form now. Yesterday when I did B&G....well, let me say when I was done I thought my legs were dead. But, I felt really good. Today, I can really tell I got an amazing workout!!!

Good Morning Friends!!!

I layed down on the bed last night after I showered and was reading the new Fitness RX Magazine that came in the mail yesterday.....and the next thing....wel, my husband was coming to bed. It was 10 o'clock. I was exhausted. But, when the alarm went off this morning I was well rested and got right up!!! So I got my hour run in. I am off to a wonderful start today!

Not sure what workout I am doing today. I do have DOMS today!!!! :D

Carolyn---Good luck with B&G!!!! Sounds like you are having a time with the potty training. The joys of a puppy!!!! If they wern't cute....... I did meso 1 and 2 last time, and this time I am aware of what is coming and I am still enjoying it. I think it may of helped! :p

Okay.....this is my thoughts of the day..... I think I want to buy the "Intensity series" terminator, imax 2 + cardio & weights, boot camp + Muscle Endurance, Pyramid Upper Body & Lower Body. If I use the 20off---it would only be $99.99 + free shipping. What do ya'll think?

Gotta Run.....BBL!

Oh I am soooo sleepy today! I was tired yesterday too but couldn't figure out what was going on with me and then suddenly I was like...duh! It's ttotm! I was looking at my date book and realized my period should be coming in a few days. Crap! Now I know why my knees were wonky this week after BM2 and even yesterday after my Katami bootcamp workout they felt a little sore. I just figured out last month that my knees are more prone to injury at this time of the month and I totally spaced it! I should've gone more low impact...:(. Oh well! Today I was going to do a kettlebell workout but the only thing I could muster any energy for was one of my 10 minute solution pilates dvds. I did 4 sections for a total of 40 minutes. Not much of a workout, but at least I can say I did something today! If I'm up for it tonight I may do a little yoga or maybe some of Cathe's Ab Circuits.

I totally want to get Low Impact Circuit now! I noticed it was the deal of the day yesterday but Cathe's shipping is always so high it sort of cancels out any savings. I realized with the shipping cost I could get it for the same amount through Total Fitness.com. I may go through Collage though since there are some other ones I want to get (non-Cathe's) that are cheaper there then at TF and I can get it all with free shipping. I'm so spoiled with free shipping that I get kind of cranky when I have to pay it!

I just found out one of my optometry school girlfriends is pregnant with her second child! I'm so excited for her! She's 15 weeks and the doctors already think she may have gestational diabetes since she had it with her first pregnancy. It's so weird because she's such a tiny little thing...not overweight at all like you typically think of with gestational diabetes.

Missy- so many people love the Intensity series...it seems to be a favorite among a lot of Cathlete's. I love PUB/PLB and I'm just starting to learn Cathe step so I've only tried IMAX2 once. I have bootcamp but I only did it once and I seem to remember it had quite a bit of impact, but people on VF always rave about it. I think you would love it, but I have others that I like more. I tend to be one of those few people who prefer Cathe's newer workouts to her older ones.

Carolyn Good luck with B&G today!

Okay, I'd better get sleepy self in the shower!
Have a great day everybody!
