STS first time!

I did Cardio Core Circuit (express premix) today. It is so much easier doing that one when you don't repeat the cardio drills a second time! I still got a good sweat in just 34 minutes. Nice. :) I wish Cathe would put out a few more shortish cardio workouts that don't require any equipment. Sometimes it's nice to just get in and get out without dragging stuff out.

Ho boy, Carolyn, I don't know if I could take the accidents in the house! I was cringing for you reading your post on that! When I first met my husband he had 2 dogs who were already quite old when we first got together. They were poorly trained and constantly went pee and poop in the house. The one dog used to go in the same spot over and over and the carpet was just trashed. Since I'm not a dog person anyway, I was REALLY stressed out by it! I have this weird phobia with dogs. I was chased down two different times when I was younger by snarling, barking scary dogs and that's forever been imprinted in my brain. Now, even if it's just a small dog, I have this phobia that they are going to bite my hand. Weird, I know. I always subconsciously put my hands in my pockets when I get near a strange dog.

Jean- how's your shoulder feeling? If it was a neck sprain, the muscle definitely needs to rest. Ice is helpful at first. I am a big believer in fish oil and turmeric for the anti-inflammatory effect as well as the tart cherry extract. For acute inflammation though sometimes you have to go with the Advil or Alleve. Sprain is really just a bigger version of DOMS when you think about it. DOMS are small microtears that heal and make you stronger...a sprain or strain is a bigger tear that really needs to heal before you go on with training or else you risk a more serious injury. Of course, the nurse could have been totally wrong too! Like Betty said, they'll often take a stab in the dark to see what happens and if you come back again then they know to look further!

Missy you are so lucky to have your own workout room! If we ever get another house in the future I'm totally getting 4 bedrooms so one of them can be my workout room! A mirror is really nice too. I have a small door one like Carolyn and I finally realized I should use it to watch my form with weights. It really helps! Congratulations on Cathlete status!!

Betty, yay for DOMS with Plyo legs! Do you think those workouts will grow on you? I just love them! I gotta find a day next week to do one of those...

Okay, gotta go! Later girls!

ETA: Jean we were posting at the same time! I'm glad your shoulder is feeling better!

Good Afternoon. I ran my errands, and came home. I just spent the last 1 1/2 hours in my exercise room moving everything around so my hubby can hang my mirror tonight. That was hard work. I have so much stuff....I had to figure out where to put everything so I could see myself in the mirror. Now it looks even more organized and well.....it looks amazing (if you are into working out) hahaha:D

I am excited about tomorrow. I am hoping I can beat my time. I hope the rain holds off...It is suppose to rain mid to late morning. The race starts at 8:30 am.

oh....having a friday off is awesome. I wish I could do this more often. But, the dr's seem to need me at the office.

Carolyn---I am sure you are very patient with the little one. It is just not normal to hear someone or some puppy crying at night. I am sure your boxer with get use to him. Is he/she (boxer) jelous of the puppy? I know if I brought another dog in the house / Summer would go crazy. She gets jelous of the cats.

I hipe everyone has a lovely day. Off to do my cardio on the elliptical.

BBL!!! :)

Betty--- I am glad you are having beautiful weather. It has been gloomy here for several days. But, after the rain comes, I am sure it will be back in the high 80's here. We didn't really get much of a spring here this year. It has been in the high 80's and hot hot hot here for weeks.

I attached some pic's of my exercise room per your request.

Okay, I have to go shower and go to bed....I will let ya know how I do tomorrow at my 5K. Have a nice evening!!! :)

Good Morning! Just thought I would eish everyone a wonderful Saturday!!! I am off to the 5K.

Carolyn---How was you night with Cuda? Please do post us some pictures. I had to take several to get the entire room too.

Okay, gotta go eat breakfast and leave.

BBL!!!! :D

Congratulations on beating your time Missy! :D That's great! Did the weather hold up for you okay?

Carolyn, did you make it to the eye appointment for your daughter? How did it go?

I did Afterburn today! I don't usually workout on Saturdays when I have to work because that means I have to get up earlier than I might otherwise and also I have to drag all my stuff into the living room since Mark is still sleeping in the bedroom where I normally workout. I really wanted to get it in today though. I have to say, every time I do that workout I literally feel thinner afterwards...like the fat has just melted off me! I guess that's why it's my most used dvd in the LIS series! I just love it! :D

Speaking of my workout area, I took a couple quick pics of my bedroom space before I left for work today. My room is REALLY messy right now so please excuse that! I took the picture while standing on my bed! My space is tiny. I also took a pic of my dvd shelf. That's about 2/3 of my collection. The other 1/3 is either down below in my nighstand drawer or borrowed out to friends. I borrowed a lot of my Jillian's out and my sister still hasn't gotten Travel Fit back to me yet! The ones in my nightstand are either workouts I don't like that I want to trade or ones that are too easy for me these days (ones I started out with), but I don't want to get rid of them just in case I ever fall off the workout wagon and need to build my fitness back up! Okay, I hope I do this right...

Have a great Saturday everybody!

Carolyn- right at the bottom of the picture is where the puzzle mat ends and we have a cedar chest right there that's on wheels where we keep extra blankets. When I have to do moves with the sliding discs like the dragging plank with push up I have to move the chest over to the other side of my bed by the window. I also use that chest as a weight bench! Often when I do workouts where Cathe has you jumping forward or doing walking lunges I wind up out in the hallway because I run out of room! I actually have more dumbells that you can't see in the picture. I have do a lot of jerry-rigging to get stuff to work. It should be interesting to see how I manage to fit the turbo tower in there! You're right, Mark is very tolerant of how I keep filling the bedroom up with this stuff!

Good Afternoon! Just finished my barn chores for the day. Now I am trying to do laundry.

I am planning on doing afterburn today.

Colleen---You have a nice workout space in your bedroom. I was wondering how you fit all the equipment in your bedroom. (Its much bigger than my bedroom.) If you look at my pictures you can see through the mirror. That when I am not using the turbo tower---I fold up my treadmill and sit it behind it because it takes up some space. That way I have plenty of floor workout room while doing DVD's. It is not heavy, so you can move it all around!!!

Okay...Gotta go!!! They dryer just stopped. BBL!!!!! ;)

Jean---Make sure your post your pic's. It is really neat to see where we all workout at! Thanks for all the congrats!!! I am so close to my goal I can taste it. Normally, my husband is working on all of the 5K's that I have done. Today he wasn't and offered to go, but I told him he could sleep in. He did get up with me this morning and made me a healthy breakfast! He was very thoughtful. :) I am glad your shoulder is feeling better. Oh...my elliptical is in the living room at the moment. It is really big and I did not want to take up any of my floor space. We re-arranged the living room, so it looks nice in there. That way I can watch the soaps (Young & Restless) off the DVR at night!!! :)

I am going to do Afterburn now!

BBL!! :)

Good Evening! I did Afterburn and ab circuit-medicine ball routine. I nailed them!!!!

We just finished dinner (grilled chicken/side salad/ cottage cheese) yummy!!!! So now we are going to sit down and watch tv together. (gotta give my hubby some time)

I hope you all have a lovely evening!!!!:D

Good Morning ladies! I hit my goal today!!! I am so excited! I think I may start a new goal. Just not sure what that will be. I am thinking about it. This was always my goal, but now that I am here....well, I think I could lose a little more. I will think about it and let ya know. :D:D

Carolyn---that's too bad bad that dogs aren't aloud. At least he is sleeping now. He probably just had to get use to the new family's schedule. ;)

Marie---Thanks! It has taken me many years to get all of my exercise equipment. It is the one thing I am addicted to. I just love buying a new piece of equipment. Now that I have everything I need..I just buy DVD's!

Okay...off to eat a healthy breakfast and to do my cardio!!! :D

BBL!!!

Good Afternnon! I did my hour run this morning and also did Cardio Super Sets!!! Gotta love those prisoner squats!!!

Carolyn---You have a nice workout space. It is so cool to see each others. Good luck with the puppy!!! I have enough DOMS for the both of us today!!! Lovin it, though!!! hahaha :D

Jean---Not sure what my next goal is. I was talking with my hubby about it, and I orginally said maybe another 10 pds. But, he says...I should just continue with what I am doing and not worry about the number. I am starting STS tomorrow, I have all my workout cards printed. I am lifting heavy----looking for some muscle definition. So that could increase the #???? Just not sure. I will let you know. Whatever it is...I am sure I can do it!!! Just takes, time, alot of hardwork, and dedication!!! :D

I just want to thank all of you, for always talking with me and helping on the journey. I starting exercising seriously again, in the beginning of November 2011---Just shy of 6 months---I am very proud!!! Thanks again for always being there. I truely think of ya'll as my friends!!! :)

Okay...off to prepare dinner!!! BBL!! :D

Just a quick check in before I go to bed! Mark and I stayed up watching Homeland on Showtime this weekend. It was On Demand so we marathoned the whole season except for the very. last. one! Aaack! Mark insisted we watch it tomorrow since he was so tired and now I'm freaking out cause it's a really good and pretty intense show!

Today I did Body Max 2 and I think I'm finally starting to get some of this choreography. I had that one before, then traded it because I got so frustrated with it, now I traded it back again! I did it on a 6 inch platform instead of the 8 that Cathe uses. That helped. I used to trip up all the time on my step Reebok when I did it before on 8 inches. Plus having the new step is a lot better too! I was intending to do the whole dvd but pooped out at about 55 minutes and skipped the last step combo. I was so tired! Since my stability ball needs air and my pump for it is broken I did the upper body part of PUB instead of the weight section on BM2. I looked all over the place and cannot find a replacement air pump for stability balls! They all come with the ball and when it goes kaput your screwed and have to buy a new ball I guess!

Missy- I definitely wouldn't get hung up on the number on the scale if you're at your goal. I'm sure you look smokin' with all you do! I know it's easier said then done, though. Plus it's so motivating to have a goal to work towards. Maybe make your new goals strength based. Like you could work toward 46 push ups in a row like Jean! Or maybe so many pullups or weight you can lift (safely of course!). My personal goal...now that I'm finally getting the tower...is to try and do 10 real pull ups before my birthday in October! If I can do that I will be so psyched!:D

Betty I highly recommend the puzzle mats! They made a world of difference for my knees! I still have to watch it though, I can tell with the extra step aerobics I've been doing that I will have to limit step to once a week. I don't think my knees can take more than that. Plus I'm finally over the 8 inch step...I can get my heart rate up plenty with 6 or lower!

Marie- the house sounds great! You'll have to let us know if you guys look at any others. House hunting can be so fun but stressful too. When Mark and I were looking we always seemed to diagree on one thing or another. When we found our house though, we were pretty much on the same page. It's an older house and needed a ton of updates, but we have this amazing fire place. It's really unique and it's so cozy to burn wood in the middle of a cold winter...although we didn't use it much this winter! There is still a ton of wood in the shed!

Okay, gotta get some zzz's. Night ladies!

Good Morning ladies! I always have trouble getting up on Mondays!!!! I still got my cardio in. I was just dragging my butt to get up! That's Mondays!!!!

Betty---Thanks for the compliments on my exercise room, 5K time, and weight loss results. It truely means alot. I am not a fan of the planet fitness colors on the biggest loser either. I think it is tacky!

Colleen-I think I am going to set a goal like yours, just not sure what it will be. I will be thinking of it...and let you know. I do like to set goals, so that you have something to work towards. I think I will always have goals....just to stay motivated. Can't wait for you to get the tower. When will it arrive? Did you have shipped to your house or site to store?

Okay...gotta go...I am at work. Playing catch up since I was off Friday!!!:D

BBL!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL MONDAY!!!!! :):):)

Carolyn---It has been rainy all weekend off and on. Today the rain is gone, but the temp is cooller than it should be for this time of year. It was in the 40's this morning and the high is 68. Normally our high's is in the mid 80's.

This weekend the weather is suppose to be back to normal. Thankfully! I am a warm weather chick. I get cranky in the winter (I don't like to be cold).

Have a nice time with the kids this week!!! :D

Hello everyone!
Today is my typical Monday rest day. It's sort of nice to start the work week with a little sleeping in and not having to rush around so much. I'm trying to decide which workout to do tomorrow. I was originally going to do Paul Katami's Hollywood Bootcamp 4x4 tomorrow and CSS on Wednesday but I may switch that around now. My right knee feels a wee bit tweaky from the step aerobics yesterday.:( Man, I hate that I have to deal with that!

Betty, I hear ya on the overheating during summer! Luckily we have central air but often Mark is too stubborn and cheap to turn it on:mad:. He'll wait until the house is almost 80 degrees before we finally cave and turn it on. I can actually tolerate fairly warm temps, in fact I prefer it. Lately, though, I've noticed when the thermometer hits 79 degrees in the house I totally overheat...like my body simply can't regulate and I get woozy. It takes a long time even after the temp comes down for me to feel normal again.

Missy I agree with Jean, that would be so fun to read about your success on Cathe's blog! How inspiring it would be!:D

Carolyn- total body and circuit workouts are perfect when you don't have a lot of time to workout. You can maintain your fitness really nicely by hitting a little bit of everything in those kinds of workouts. Have fun with the kids this week! Good luck with the puppy training!!

Have a great day ladies!

The kids had their spring break a few weeks ago in early April. Unfortunately since we have to work, when they have breaks (inclucing summer vacation of course) they have to be in daycare. The daycare we use also is a site for the public 4K program so I take Lydia there at 8:25 for 4K and it goes until noon, then the daycare teachers take over and sign her in to the daycare part. Dylan's bus drops him off there too since we both work later then 3:10 which is when his school gets out. However, since the daycare was closed Good Friday and the monday after Easter (when their break was), I had to take those days off of work to stay home with them. It is so hard to get them to play outside even when it's nice out! They always want to sit and watch cartoons or play video games on the Wii...I have to turn everything off and kick their butts outside! When it's raining, I just give in and let them do that stuff, though...
Better get going here...ttyl!

Greetings, Ladies!

I am behind on some posts but I was able to read a few...

Jean, I am glad to hear that your shoulder is feeling better. I returned on Sunday to see that it rained all day here, and it rained all the way back on our trip up from North Carolina. My plants grew quite a bit this weekend while I was gone, so that is a nice perk. I need to do some mulching too. Hopefully I can do that this weekend if it is dried out by then.

Marie, I'm excited that you guys are a little closer to getting your own place...it sounds like you are more than ready to get some personal space back. If you decide not to take this place, I hope you find something that you like just as much...very soon! Glad your appointment went smoothly!

Missy, congrats on reaching your goal weight! As someone who has been stuck on this plateau for months, I heartily congratulate you!!! You certainly worked hard at shedding that last few pounds. Theoretically I am at my goal weight, but then when I got here I set another pound goal. I also set some fitness goals, pushups being one too, now it's putting on more muscle, and I'm finding that a little more satisfying that trying to get rid of 5 or 10 more pounds (probably because it's not working!). It has been kind of fun to set a fitness goal and see how I am progressing. That may be a fun challenge for you too.

I did not do much exercise this weekend, so even though Monday is usually my rest day, I did workout today. I did Step Moves and the Intensity bootcamp as an add on. Tomorrow I do disk 10. Hard to believe I'm almost done with Meso 1. Like Jean, I'm tired of buying stuff, but I am going to spring for some weighted gloves to use for Meso 2.

Thanks for the workout room pics. I'll try to post some of mine. I workout in my tv room, so it's not that exciting! All my stuff is basically jammed in a closet and behind my wood stove. I wish I had more room/a dedicated room too, but what can you do? I live in a teenie weenie house.

Hi Betty...you must be counting the days till your trip!

Colleen, I hope you are doing well!

Carolyn, hope you guys get some sleep tonight!

Take care all,
Eva

Good Evening!!! I came home and cooked dinner, ate, and jumed right in and got busy!!! I started STS today. Disc #1--done. I also did 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Okay, so this time I did all my 1RM's---so I have my workout sheets/cards printed. This made it very helpful. I got so frustrated last time because I never knew what weight to grab. Well, I can honestly say....my muscles are fried!!!!:p

I think this time through will be very challenging and keeping me wanting more. I have decided that I will do a sucess story after I finish STS---so that my picture can be be toned!!! So in 3 months. ;)

I know I want to lose a few more pounds, but I am focusing more on my muscles. I want to be toned! I still will weigh daily for now....just because that is my one addiction. I just can't give it up!!! I few like if I know what the scale says, I will not goof up!!! :D

Okay...gotta go!!! Bed time!!! Chat with ya tomorrow!!!!:D

Happy Tuesday!!!! I did my morning cardio. I pushed myself harder than normal this morning. It felt good! :p

Tonight is the night....Biggest Loser....we will see who is in the finals. So excited! I hope it is someone who deserves it. :)

Not sure what workout I am doing this evening???? Maybe B&G???

Okay...Gotta go, BBL!!!! ;)
