I did Cardio Core Circuit (express premix) today. It is so much easier doing that one when you don't repeat the cardio drills a second time! I still got a good sweat in just 34 minutes. Nice. I wish Cathe would put out a few more shortish cardio workouts that don't require any equipment. Sometimes it's nice to just get in and get out without dragging stuff out.
Ho boy, Carolyn, I don't know if I could take the accidents in the house! I was cringing for you reading your post on that! When I first met my husband he had 2 dogs who were already quite old when we first got together. They were poorly trained and constantly went pee and poop in the house. The one dog used to go in the same spot over and over and the carpet was just trashed. Since I'm not a dog person anyway, I was REALLY stressed out by it! I have this weird phobia with dogs. I was chased down two different times when I was younger by snarling, barking scary dogs and that's forever been imprinted in my brain. Now, even if it's just a small dog, I have this phobia that they are going to bite my hand. Weird, I know. I always subconsciously put my hands in my pockets when I get near a strange dog.
Jean- how's your shoulder feeling? If it was a neck sprain, the muscle definitely needs to rest. Ice is helpful at first. I am a big believer in fish oil and turmeric for the anti-inflammatory effect as well as the tart cherry extract. For acute inflammation though sometimes you have to go with the Advil or Alleve. Sprain is really just a bigger version of DOMS when you think about it. DOMS are small microtears that heal and make you stronger...a sprain or strain is a bigger tear that really needs to heal before you go on with training or else you risk a more serious injury. Of course, the nurse could have been totally wrong too! Like Betty said, they'll often take a stab in the dark to see what happens and if you come back again then they know to look further!
Missy you are so lucky to have your own workout room! If we ever get another house in the future I'm totally getting 4 bedrooms so one of them can be my workout room! A mirror is really nice too. I have a small door one like Carolyn and I finally realized I should use it to watch my form with weights. It really helps! Congratulations on Cathlete status!!
Betty, yay for DOMS with Plyo legs! Do you think those workouts will grow on you? I just love them! I gotta find a day next week to do one of those...
Okay, gotta go! Later girls!
ETA: Jean we were posting at the same time! I'm glad your shoulder is feeling better!
