STS first time!

Hi Everyone!

I was having some job stress yesterday so decided to do Intensity when I got home. I think that step portion is one of her hardest routines. I made it through some of the Hiit section before I got interrupted for a ride. Oh well. And I did Disc 28 today. I love working my back, and I felt so strong. I was really amazed at the weights I was lifting. I'm still being careful with Chest since I don't have rack. I took a glance at Cathe during the workout and could not believe the weights she had on her barbell! She is amazing!

Lousy weather today, cold and yucky. My daughter's softball game was cancelled (yay!).

I love Drill Max too and have not done that one in a while. I am anxious to get back to my other workouts when STS is over.

Jean, how is your shoulder? Do I remember correctly that you don't like to work lower body? Good for you on B&G!

I agree Carolyn, Missy, you always seem happy, I enjoy your posts!

I did Disc #5/Ab circuits medicine ball tonight. Not so many push ups today!!! Nice for a change.

So, the one thing I dislike about doing STS is trying to figure out what DVD's to do between STS Discs. Sometimes, if I am just wanting to do a DVD I just do it!!! Worry about the DOMS later.....hahha :p

So not sure what tomorrow brings......any sugestions???? Friday is Disc#6 (legs).

My overall goal at the moment is not necessarily weight loss. I am happy....I just want to lose some more inches off my thighs. Also, continue with the muscles in my arms. We all want to look good on those sleveless shirts this summer. I am already wearing them, here in south GA.

Carolyn---how is Cuda doing? And where are the pic's? I want to see how big he is getting. I am so happy your boxer is liking him. I know the baby needs so much attention.

Oh....Mary---I understand about the job stress....today, I thought I was going to pull out my hair or beat my head against the wall. (I was dealing with Medicare)(Medical billing/Office Manager tasks) (paperwork, paperwork, paperwork....) So, when I got home I got busy working out. I feel it seems to help!!!! :D Once Cathe is done with me, my stress is long gone!!!! :p

I did Athletic Training leg cardio express premix instead of Cardio Supersets today because of course, as usual, I was short on time :eek:. I have a hard time doing CS unless I have a full hour to workout because I love to do the whole thing plus the bonus step part. I always feel like I'm missing out if I don't do the whole thing. On the other hand, when I do AT LC premix I'm sweating bullets in just 34 minutes! It's perfect when I'm short on time and need to get that cardio in! :D Another good, short cardio workout is the CCC premix where she just does the circuits once through instead of twice. I'm always searching out those quick and dirty workouts!;) They gotta be tough if they are going to be worth it though!

As for what to do on in between STS days I found I could easily do AB, CS and AT LC premix because even though she does use weights they are just there for cardio effect. I just make sure to keep the weights below 10 lbs and if shoulders are involved I keep it to 8 lbs or less. I also do her Circuit Blast that way. I read somewhere that CB is considered a cardio workout more than anything. Drill Max, on the other hand, seems like it has more straight up lifting so that's why I was nervous to do that and STS. Say Missy, do you know if Drill Max has a leg/cardio premix? That would probably work! Of course I also did other cardio like step aerobics and kickboxing on non-STS days. Also, since I like to work legs twice a week I would even do B&G and LBB during STS...just making sure to separate it from the STS leg workout by 1 or 2 days.

The only things I couldn't fit in with STS were the really tough circuit workouts that involved some real lifting and kettlebells. I couldn't do Lean Hot Body, Paul Katami's ASAP 4x4 bootcamp, and Burn and Build. When I tried to do those workouts I felt that "hit by a truck" feeling you get with over training:(. I also missed some of her total body strength workouts like High Reps and STS total body! So many workouts so little time!:eek:

Mary- congratulations on doing Intensity! That's a toughie! I did that on a 4 inch step and felt like that was plenty for me!:eek: I love working the back too. I can't wait to do some pull ups tomorrow!:eek:

Marie- I can't wait to see your pregnancy pics! Yay! I wish I was one of those cute pregnancy girls. I always felt like a house! Some girls get that cute basketball belly...I got the beach ball! Being short didn't help either:eek:.

Carolyn- Yay for a good night sleep and no nasty accidents overnight! Whoo hoo! Maybe the worst is over. Fingers crossed.;)

Jean- how are you feeling today with the DOMS?? How is your shoulder coming along? Do you think you'll be able to get back to upper body workout soon?

Carolyn---I did get the oxygen ab special. I read that article too. It was very imformative. I sort of started just grabbing a DVD that I want to do and do it! But, I did have in the back of my head.....should I do this today? I have legs or back or arms tomorrow. Now, I feel like I am normal. Since you are doing it too.

Colleen--I will have to look into Drill Max leg/cardio..... Good luck with those pullups on your tower. I did them last night and thought of you. :) I also have been doing alot of my workouts barefoot like you recommended. Lovin it!!!

Carolyn---Maybe Cuda is comming around and learning inside is not potty time!!! ;) Yeah!!!!

Ooooh, I just looked up the premixes for Drill Max and there are several cardio only ones!:eek: There's one that's 39 min, one that's 63 min, a 46 min one and a 57 minute Cardio/leg premix! Yipee! How come I never realized that before?:eek: I'm just starting to explore the premix options on Cathe's workouts. It's so awesome that she goes that extra mile and chapters her dvds and provides all these great premixes!:D
 
OMG, Carolyn that puppy is ADORABLE! Lordy, makes me want to get a puppy! Me! The girl who got chased down by two scary dogs when she was little and is afraid of them! :eek: Your kids are so beautiful, too! You are so blessed! :D

Colleen---I am so excited about Drill Max now!!! I also, normally just do the entire DVD and not the premixes, but I am going to have to try these!!!!

Jean---I am so sorry about you shoulder. Keep up what you are doing and in no time you will be back! Sometimes we have to listen to our body, I know from experience it is hard. Just don't stop all together, do what you can. With each day, you shoulder should heal and get stronger. :)

Okay....I think I am going to have to try one of those premixes tonight!!!;)
 
Carolyn---Very attractive man!!! Your have a beautiful family!!! Okay....Cuda..... Are you being firm when you say NO? When I was potty training my dog, if I yelled at her it did nothing....But, I changed my voice to FIRM and said NO, Bad Dog and pointed my finger and she started to understand. Now if I go to that FIRM voice she knows I mean NO!!!! I would also, take her outside immediately after an accident! Did you get some carpet cleaner for the pee pee? Because, they can smell it and then they assume it s okay to pee again.

Marie---4DS is awesome. You get 2 DVD's with 4 different workouts and alot of premixes!!! I enjoy all of them. I highly recommend! Watch for the daily deals....And get in on sale! :D

I am drenched in sweat! Just finished disc 29 - love those plyo legs!

Carolyn, what an adorable puppy and beautiful family you have! Sorry to hear about Cuda's mess, but good thing he was in a crate. Can you imagine otherwise? Yuck. We only have a guinea pig for a pet and I barely tolerate her mess. I do love animals, just not cleaning up after them.

Marie - wow, afterburn while pregnant - I'm impressed! You'll be in great shape when you have the baby. Are you going to find out what you are having?

Colleen, Drill Max has the most awesome premixes. I would usually do one of the cardio ones before Cathe came out with her Hiit routines. And the cardio/leg blast is great, the time flies on that one.

Jean, have a good time at your sister's. I hope your shoulder is feeling better.

Missy, I love 4ds too, great premixes so you can pretty much make up any type of workout you want. Highly recommend this one!

Carolyn---How do you like spinning? I have thought about getting a bike but, they hurt my butt!!!! Is it worth it?
 
I just did LIC the cardio timesaver premix and then disc 21 back and biceps! Pull ups are a lot harder than I thought!:eek: I did a few when I first put the tower up and thought I'd rock them out but I quickly found that...just like push ups...I start out strong and then peter out quickly! I'd get to 4 (mind you I did it the modified "easy" way too), then slow down and struggle to get to twelve!:eek: Something to work towards! I tried some more push ups on the tower at the end and I just love doing them that way. So much better than on the knees!

Okay, gotta get in the shower...kitty has a vet appointment in an hour!:eek:

Good Morning! I think there is only a few of us left. I was so busy at the office, and then we went out to dinner in the next big town...45 minute drive one way. We did not get home till 9:30.

I was not able to to disc#6 yesterday, so I am doing it today!!!

Carolyn---Drill Max is the deal of the day, there is also one on ebay it is currently @ $1. something. You may want to watch that item. Sometimes you can get a amazing deal on the bidding!!!! (from one ebayer to another)

Colleen-I understand trying to work/ gain you way to doing pull up/chin ups on the tower. I too am trying!!!!I start out strong and the fad...then I look at Cathe and she looks like it is a piece of cake!!! On day, we will make it look easy!!!!

No workout today! I do have to go into work which stinks but it should be a short day at least. There were patients scheduled only up to about 11:00 so hopefully I'll be able to dash out early! It's still gloomy and cloudy here too. The kids are begging Mark to put the pool up already! Actually, we had a few crazy warm days in March and so they've pretty much been nagging him since then!:eek:

Tomorrow I'm planning on doing Paul Katami's Burn and Build workout. I'm skeered! The last time I tried that one was back in February and it kicked my butt in a bad way! I'm pretty sure it was from trying to do it with STS in the same week so we'll see how it goes! Normally I can do that one just fine. Have fun at your son's game Carolyn!
