STS first time!

Hello...sorry ive been mia....my internet was down....and my phone would not let me log into the forum???? Its working fine now!

I did not do bb on friday.....since i did lower on thursday....yeatrday I went to my friends house and walked/ran 5.15 miles.....we ran very little...and my knee feels it today....im pissed about that....looks like i just cant run....gonna be good as i dont want to go to an orthopedic surgeon....and just stay indoors with my workouts for now.....

I have been working in my garden today...oh...and yesterday tim and i took the boat out...it was a beautiful day for it!

Tonight i plan on doing bb....

Hoping i get my other dvds soon......lol

I will catch up on the post tonight...heading to hay farm to get hay.

Hi Girls. It is so muggy today. The mosquitos were really out earlier. Nothing new to report. Todays movie was "Anna Karenina". It was weird and confusing but I really did enjoy it. I think It made me a little depressed. O.K. Until Later.

Just got home from the inlaws.....now sitting with Mr Socks outside for a few mins....
 
Happy Saturday Ladies. Today I went to Home Depot and got caulk and a small can of paint. Then I went to Rite Aid and then to the vets office to pick up my Brussells Griffon's cremains. I had her put down 2 weeks ago. She is the dog that had the cancer. Now I have 3 dogs : a Pom, a Chihuahua and a ShihTzu. It is hard to believe I had 6 dogs in January. We might get a puppy after we settle into the new house. I am almost out of work. I am going to my sisters on Tuesday and come home next Sunday. She is going to Florida to visit her in-laws so I will be staying with my Mother. That is all for now. Have a happy day everyone.

She had been a bear all day. Had a complete melt down when I asked her to shower. She will sleep good tonight. She doesn't do well when her routine is messed up.

I went to ulta today and I got a new brush for my clarisonic and some face cleaner with silastic acid to help clean pores. So well see how that does.

Kids are funny like that, needing their sleep. My niece who is 7 had a sleepover for her bday, and she went to sleep after midnight and woke before 6:eek:! Imagine giggling, chatting all night:D.

Don't over-exfoliate, Colleen. 2-3x a week is good. Is that what you used to do? Good luck and let me know how it works. I want a Clarisonic, but on a great deal:eek:!

I can not wait to hear how you like it!

Cathe uses a 35lb barbell for squats, stationary lunges, plie squats, and sit and stands. I upped mine to 40lbs. For step ups and elevated lunges, she starts with 10lbs and drops to 8lbs. I do 20lbs and then 15. Today I felt super strong in using my glutes. I really cocentrated on squeezing with each reps. I especially felt it on the low ends.
How long should I continue with LL? I did this same obsession thing with butts and guts! Once I find something I enjoy, it is hard to switch! I am trying to confuse my muscles with new weight. I am wondering if I need to switch up the exercises as well??

Carolyn, so awesome! Now that I'm not doing much Cathe, I notice you do a lot of strength training. No judgment here, in either direction.
I had on sleeveless today and didn't see as much definition as when I'm pumping those muscles:confused:. Argh!:mad:

I'm not sure which UY I'll do first! Haven't opened it yet. Been too busy.
 
After about an hour, I got the courage to say something. I felt like a shmuck for a long time.
Now I am over it! We are still out here. Enjoying every minute!

Athleta stuff came yesterday. Hate it all except the bikini top. I am wearing it now. Tummy is a tad pudgey, but oh well!:rolleyes:

Jean, I'm sorry the movie depressed you! Watch something funny now. I watched Pitch Perfect last night, and while thoroughly enjoyable, it is a college and condensed version of Glee. I enjoyed learning that Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow can sing.
 
Hi Everyone!

Busy but good weekend. I agree about the weight lifting, that's what makes the biggest difference to my body. I've been alternating GS with S&H (upper body only), and I feel like my arms are really well defined. I wore a sleevless top to a graduation party on Sat. and I loved how my shoulders look. We all work so hard with our bodies, we may as well show them off when we can!

Betty, we had sushi last night too! DD had a softball game in Haverhill from 6-8, we were starving by the end. I hate games on Sunday nights, no time to get ready for Monday.

Jean, so sorry about your dog!

Carolyn, good for you for talking to your neighbor. Sounds like you were being perfectly reasonable, actually the kid's parents should have a clue that their kids shouldn't go to your house all the time.

How does Athleta's sizing run? They have some cute bathing suits but I'm never sure what size to get. I also need some support in the top, which seems very hard to find. Where do you ladies get your bathing suits?

Forgot about my workouts! I did CCC yesterday, lots of jumping but I modified and it wasn't too bad. I liked working my core as part of the workout. This morning was S&H bis & tris. I think 2 weeks of S&H is the most I can do, I just can't focus that much.

Have you ever dreamed all night long? I did last night and I woke up exhausted....:confused:

So I still got my morning cardio in....just slower than normal...as I had a slight headache...but now its gone....will have to make up for my lost calorie burn tonight! LOL

Carolyn....good for you for telling the neighbor.....I dont blame you....how is yur husbands eye/face??? I hope he is doing better.

Betty----I just tracked my package...and looks like they will not arrive today as they are in Orlando FL....Why...I dont know...they passed right by here to put on another truck to come back north....crazy...:(

At work and very busy with these damn insurance companies...they are making my life a total nightmare.....sometimes I wonder why I do this....is it worth it? Prob not...but this is what I have been doing for 12 years...starting over would hurt my bank acct! LOL

I did Ballet Beautiful Body Blast today. 15 mins x4 body parts, and it was tedious. Ugh. Hardly broke a sweat. Borowed it for the week.
Pulled out Stretch Max with band after, which was perfect for all those butt and leg exercises.
I do momentarily panic that I'll lose the Cathe definition (or lack thereof:confused:).

Missy, I've experienced that exhaustion from dreaming all night too. This morning I woke up an hour before the alarm and couldn't really fall back asleep:confused:, even though I'm so tired.

Mary, high five on the toned arms and shoulders! So awesome. Like I've complained in the past, the only time my arms look toned is when I'm pumping them!
I rarely wear bathings suits any more but many yrs ago I only felt comfortable with Lands End's tankinis (tank tops with cute skirt bottoms). Now those are a bit loose and I don't ever feel a need to buy any more. Good luck looking.

Carolyn, I've not gone outside yet, but it doesn't seem humid here. It's slightly breezy, and the rain will start in late aft or early evening. Nope, it doesn't look like a hot week for you. Too bad, but there's always shopping:D. Does your sis hit the beach in GA?

I just read in Prescription for Nutritional Healing that if you take your calcium supplement before bed, it promotes a sound sleep. Try that.
Nice job with your consistent walks. And HC. I will try to walk and garden before the rain hits.

Everyone who has done UY already, what should I start with and how should I start? I should preview or something... I might follow Travis' 108-day program, but it'll take me twice as long!:D
 
Betty, when I started UY I followed in the same order as Travis' program, even though I didn't do it every day. Start with Cross Train, that's a really good one!

Went for a walk at lunch, light rain started but we made it back in time.
 
Hello.....I had to run some errands for the office and it is so humid outside....It is aweful....it feels like florida outside....92 degrees and sticky....yucko....normally its not this humid....:confused:

I am struggling to stay awake....I cant wait on 5 today.....I will go home, cook, eat, exercise, shower, and then off to bed I go.... Cant wait for my head to hit the pillow....I know thats aweful...but Im sleepy!

So, I had my bikini on saturday on the boat, and I need to lose some in my tummy, as I still have these unwanted pds I gained a few weeks ago....That is my goal to lose them and get back to where I was....but it is a struggle to lose an ounce! I did buy some biofreeze at lunch for my knee....

Carolyn...so glad your husband is getting back to normal.... Not sure about yours, but when Tim is sick...OMG....he is grochy! Men cant handle like women can...LOL

Betty---That is one thing about these some of the barre workouts....I feel like I didnt get my sweat on....basically...and I feel like I need to do more, when I know I got a good workout as my muscles are fatigued, its mental...I got to adjust. I do want to do some of my LIS DVDS......The question is...do I just do a LEAH rotation or combine LEAH and Cathe????

Oh...did you read the newsletter....soon they will start giving us info on the new DVDs....YEAH!!!! :eek: Cant wait to get them!!!.

Hi girls!!

Leah does not recommend doing any another type of workout while doing hers. Remember BB is about lengthening and defining not bulking.

Also remember we don't need as much cardio as you think. Alternating strength and cardio is a good routine. These past fees weeks I've just have just been walking and alternating with BB and even getting in extra walks on bb days.

I know you don't want to hear but diet is so key when trying to lose the extra few pounds. Back off of the processes foods and sugar and focus more on whole foods and complex carbs. Go for the fruits, veggies protein, healthy fats (nuts, olive and coconut oil, avocados). also drink your water and lots if it. Aim for 8-12 glasses a day. back off on the artificial sweeteners. Ok I'll stop... I could ramble on and one.

That's just my 2cents.

Today is the start if week 23 for me. I have this week and then next week is recovery. I'm thinking wither xTrain or STS Meso 1 during my bb break.

Yesterday was a rest day. Didn't feel like working out.

Betty, that's a tough decision for UY. Like Mary said cross train is good. I'm also a big fan I yin yoga but that's more stretching than a workout.

Carolyn, I think you want to switch up routines every 4-6 weeks to keep your body guessing. But if you are enjoying it then stick with it.

Today I did LB BB segments.
