STS first time!

Omg, these periodic gusts of winds are so chilling! I don't mind a day or two but prolonged bitter cold is depressing. I can't get warm.

Missy, one I can think of is The Magic of Belle Isle with Morgan Freeman. What a sweet movie. Jean and I watched it.
I'm with you--I love kicking back and watching movies!
You could always start with Downton Abbey too.:D
Nice job keeping away from the scale.
Nice job reducing your phone costs!:D

Carolyn, Nature's Classroom is great for the kids. Don't worry. The kids are in gender-specific cabins with same-sex chaperones. They sleep on bunks in a pine-looking lodge. They go to a separate cabin for meals, have outdoor group activities, and nighttime stories and singalongs.
I wish we could have gone in April, though it might be muddy out there. In early Nov we had some driving rain and even very wet flurries.

Colleen, so glad you took the day off yesterday. It does a body wonders. Same for the rest day.

Good evening! Just got home....i didnt get to go to publix....will put that on my to do list tomorrow!

I am exhausted....i am on the elliptical while watching y&r....then off to shower and rest.....another early morning tomorrow!!!! Then rest for 2 days....yeah!!!!

As for spinning bikes....i am clueless....i started to research them....but ran out of time....lol....roght now I am sticking with elliptical, treadmill, and running outside.....i am really looking forward to spring. I am going to run my brains out after work several days aweek at least!!!

My next 5k is in March....then one in April....and two in May....hehehe....love the competition!!! I am also thinking about doing a 10k??????

Carolyn--- you will be okay when your babies go to camp....we will be here for you. I know I dont have children....but i get attached to everything too... i cant even sell my truck...lol...but i am here to chat! :)

Check back soon.....

Thanks Carolyn! It is a good idea to go sit on it; I'd have to go to Natick somewhere. I asked Customer Svc about horizontal and vertical seat adjustment; the man said it's suitable for heights 5" to 6'6".
There is a $100 off code and free shipping to boot. So it'd come to $439.

Your Camp Freedom is one day longer than our Camp Cody. But not to worry. The kids love spending time with one another and the counselors have it under control.

This must be the clinic suggested for you: National Running Center | Outpatient Programs | Spaulding Rehabilitation Network

I guess we're not going to have a mild winter!:(

Must. Get. Off.

Good morning ladies!!

Dare I say I'm starting to turn the corner. I feel so much better after taking a day off and resting yesterday. I feel I'm can breath a little easier today.

I did ballet body this morning. I just live these workouts. Today I did upper and lower body. She has you do all sort if upper body moves with 3 pound weights oh my arms are feeling it. I need a good cardio session and plan to do spin tomorrow.

Carolyn, my knee has been doing great. I really think these new workouts are helping to strengthen the smaller muscle the helps support the knee. I've also cut out impact cardio and have been icing my knee religiously ever night. I told myself that I need to let it heel b/c I want to feel normal again and if I'm not letting it heel it will never get better.

Betty, I have a belt driven bike. It is extreme quite. I also echo what Carolyn said and see if you can try out the bike before buying. I think that's is very important. Your butt will adjust only after a few rides. Try dicks or sports authority or any other fitness stores that sell equipment. I got mine from leisure fitness. I did all my research an did found where the bike was sold so I could do a test ride first. I've also take spin classes at local gyms so I knew bikes that I liked/didn't like. To me it was more important that I getting a bike that fit me that had adjustment with out the pop pins to get a custom fit. I don't know how tall you are but I'm barely 5'2. Oh my fly wheel is 47 pounds. But the whole bike is a beast 143 total.

TGIF everyone! Temps will go a bit past 20 today. Hooray!

I just finished Legs, the entire workout including Barre (67 mins). I do like this workout a lot. From Wednesday's AOLIH, my knees were just hurting, even until this morning, and I couldn't figure out why. Technically, since it was low impact, my knees shouldn't have hurt. Today's exercising helped it though.
In Barre, Cathe was asking Jai about the counting, even though Cedie is there. I wonder why.

Colleen, glad to hear your cold is easing up!
Thanks for your bike tips too.

Hello!
I am so tired today, so glad it's Friday! I probably should have taken a rest day today but I went ahead with Cardio Leg Blast, doing a shorter premix. And I hate to take a rest day on the weekend because that is when I can fit in a longer workout and I workout when it is not dark! I'll see how I feel tomorrow, but I think I really need alot of sleep.

Carolyn, sounds like you have all the experts you need, your knee can only get better!

Colleen, glad you're feeling better. I still have not been able to find a flu shot anywhere around here. And luckily the sick woman who sits next to me has been working from home. Oops gotta run...

Mary, great job getting leg blast in. I totally relate with the weekend workouts. What time do you get up during the week. I get up at 5 the days I go into the office and 5:30 when I work for home or put my daughter on the bus.

Carolyn, sounds like the chiropractor went well today. I haven't been back to see mine. I most likely wont either. I can't wait to get my orthotics in. Just talked to the podiatrist office and they had to wait to send them off until they got pre-certification from the insurance company which took a week. So it will be another two weeks before I get them.

Did you walk with the pads all day? Are your orthotics custom? I was told that you need to ease into wearing them. 2 hours a day to start and increase from there.

Does your bike have the clips on the other side? You could get spin shoes. I had to go or the spin shoes b/c I needed more support on the bottom of my feet. Made a big difference for me.

Good Evening! Tonight I took the evening off....I went to grocery store on the way home...then Tim and I ran to town looking for some new work boots for Tim...but could not find any locally, so tomorrow we are going to academy sports to get a pair....which is awesome.......fitness stuff...hehehehe :p

We did end up eating out tonight....and afterwards we both looked at each other and said I really do not care for anything but home cooked meals anymore....wow! 2 years ago...I never would have thought that would ever come out of our mouths!!! hehehehe....the truth of the matter is...our tummys do not like other peoples cooking....even Tim does not care for his own mothers cooking anymore! LOL.....that is funny!!!

Tomorrow is sauce day....gotta make spag sauce! Then sunday I have lots to prepare.....I just love preparing ahead of time....I guess that is the OCD coming out.....

Also...tomorrow morning...I am going to run the bleachers again... then cook lunch for us and then we will head to the sports store....I will keep you posted....I will look at the different spin bikes there. See what they have!!!

Hope everyone has a nice evening!!!

Ugh! I had typed in a long post and then it disappeared when I clicked the button! I'll try again...

So today was Burn Sets Chest, Back and Shoulders. I really like Burn Sets because I know I can go to failure instead of wondering how many more reps I have to do. This rotation is odd though because it seems like we do Burn Sets Bis and Tris every week but BS Chest much less often.

Carolyn, I like Cardio Legs alot, it alternates cardio leg moves with strength and the time flies. It's a good thing, because I see it is in the rotation again for tomorrow. I don't think this would be good for your knee though, it has lots of jumping and plyo.

My kids have all gone to Nature's classroom and loved it. I think it was the highlight of middle school. The teachers and counselors keep a good eye on the kids so no worries! Your house will feel funny the week DS is gone though.

Colleen, I get up around 5:20, have a quick cup of coffee, and start my workout. The hardest part is getting out of bed, once I start the workout itself I am fine. But by Thurs. or Fri. I really need a rest.

That college meeting I had just added to my stress. They went through the Naviance tool to do a college search, which looked really useful, but my daughter has no idea what she wants. I mentioned a school but as soon as I said it was in Boston she counted it out, she said it is too close to home. There are so many great schools here! I told her to make and appt. with her guidance counselor so we can get started. Somehow I feel like I will be doing most of the legwork here, I feel like we are behind already!

Missy, sounds like a good day to make sauce. I'm in the mood to bake something today. Heading out to the library first.

Good afternoon!!

Today I had an awesome workout. I did cycle strong. I'm not a huge fan of Mindy so I put the DVD in ad then put used my iPod to listen to a running music playlist. It was awesome. I did 17 miles and burned 500 calories. The music really helps me get more anaerobic. To me it felt more like a live spinning class. Carolyn, you should try it some time. It was sort of like that runners high. I stretched liked crazy afterwards. I was telling DH today that a do feel a correlation when I don't stretch as often my knee tends to bother me more.

We cleaned out all our closets today. Felt good to get some spring cleaning done.

I am feeling much better today too. I felt a little groggy this morning but felt better after getting up. Of course coffee helped!!

Mary, great job on your workout today. I don't have any coffee before working out. I just go straight working out. I've thought about it, but I'm so pressed for time in the morning I don't want to get up any earlier. I always have my coffee during the week after I've worked out, showered an had breakfast. I take it to work with me so it usually 8 before I've started drinking it. At that point I'm awake but I has love my coffee in the morning.

I can't believe I haven't checked in so long. This week has been busy. I finished my last week of Meso 1. Active recovery next week. I've been getting my cardio in too, even if it means getting up at 4am. I worked yesterday and then today and tomorrow starting at 7. I got up again and did AB and core#1 this morning. I have doing core#1 alot and it is getting easier....not easy lol, but easier!

Breckin is doing so good. He has been sleeping from 9pm to around 4am. Works out good for me to get up and feed, workout then work. I have been avoiding caffeine, but on these days I drink a few oz or else I would be exhausted.

In other news...my BF is in labor right now or possibly already holding her sweet baby. She was dilated to a 5 this morning and they broke her water at 9. I haven't heard anything since so I'm assuming she's busy ;)

Colleen- Way to go on Cycle Strong. I love hearing about all the workouts you do. I'm so addicted to Cathe I rarely do anything else. Nice job on the spring cleaning...that always feels good :)

Mary- Nice job on Burnsets...love going to failure. Good luck continuing the college search. Hope you both find something that suits you well.

Missy- How were the bleachers? Nice job on not using the scale....you don't need that thing ;) As far as movies go---I'm not really a movie person but I did just start watching Friday Night Lights last night and I really like it....Netflix.

Carolyn- Your poor toes :( Hope your body feels better very soon. So frustrating!

Betty- Ugh! Hate cold weather too. It was -22 here the other day. Yes negative!!! Work is going well. I am back in my groove. I have time to pump twice a shift which is great. I haven't heard of Hometime but I LOVE home improvement shows so I'm sure I would like it :)

Hey gals,

Mary, in Naviance there's a questionnaire your daughter can take called Do What You Are that can steer her to vocations suited for her personality type. Have her start there. (It's also a book, which I bought many years ago.) It's very accurate for pinpointing. It's not uncommon for her not to know what she wants to do, so don't worry. We never even had a talk with our guidance counselor. We used to say the same thing to DS1 when he was considering going out of state--we live in the college capital of the world! Sure would be a shame! As long as she dorms it, she'll feel the away-from-home experience.
I too have heard kids say Nature's Classroom is the highlight of middle school!
Hit the library myself earlier, after a family movie of Les Miserables.

Carolyn, you are falling apart! It's highly likely all related though! I'm thrilled that the yoga eased the pain. What's your eval of Foundations?
I agree with Colleen--I think there is a correlation to stretching and pain. I think after all the jumping around of AOLIH, the premix went straight to Burn Sets with no cool down! After that finished was the stretch, which didn't quite do it for me.

Marie, nice job getting back into the groove of work. Breckin just seems to know that he should sleep that schedule once you started back at work!
Impressive that you are besting core #1! I am losing patience doing it with #2 so often!

Colleen, do you follow a program for your stretching?
How great that you cleared out some closets! And it's not even that time of year!

Missy, hope you're having a nice day out!

Jean, hope all is well at your mom's/sis'.

Good evening ladies....i have been on the go sincw 8 am....my running friend was out of town...so I meet a friend that is trying to lose weight.....she has lost 21 pds..... we walked the bleachers and track for 5 miles....it actually felt really good to speed walk.

We went to acedamy sports....i walked all around the fitness section and did not find anything I wanted....guess that means I have everything I need!!!! Tim did find some really nice boots! We also went to tj maxx....and once again struck out... nothing!! We did swing inro sams on the way home....got a few items!

I am exhausted.....oh...my monthly monster came today!!! Off to geg some sleep.....hopefully tomorrow I can rest!!! Only have one chore....hopefully it will be done by lunch....

Carolyn---- nice to hear that the yiga releaved the pain!!! Let us know how you like the others!!!!

Chat will everyone tomorrow....i am about to fall sleep!!!

Good night!

Carolyn, it's not a bad thing being reduced to yoga. Maybe it's for the best to stop the jarring effects of pavement-pounding. Esp if it leads to UY. The program looks so promising! I watched a clip of Foundations & it was so soothing and relaxing! I normally don't like instructor walking around, but in this case it doesn't seem to bother me.

Can't remember what else I was going to say. So tired and ate like an oinker the past two nights:confused:.
