STS first time!

Almost done with work :) It was a bit slow today which unfortunately made me miss my boy ALOT!

I again worked out before work :) Disc 9 Legs and Core #1...holy man, was that insane! Great core workout...hoping for DOMS tomorrow :)

Jean

Thanks for posting where to find the core workouts :)

That song is pretty popular for sure. Tony is in a cover band and they played it at their last show. Everyone loved it.

Enjoy your rest day. The body needs those. I, myself, need to remember that ;)

Carolyn

Pumping is going good. The office doesn't have a lock on the inside but people do have to use a key to get in so I would get warned at least. And people never, like never, use that office. Dead space!

Betty described potstickers well. They are so tasty. An Asian food with meat and veggies on the inside of a wrap...not sure how to describe the outer part but it's good that's for sure :)

Colleen

Glad to hear your ballet workouts are helping your knee. I'm sure it's a great toning workout too!

Missy

New shoes?! I'm jealous ;)

Enjoy your restful evening! Sounds real nice!

Mary

Way to get up at 5:30 and get your workout in. Good luck getting them in at the hotel gym.

Betty

Glad you're enjoying your new shoes. Looks like I should follow the crowd and get some new ones too ;)

Way to go on your workout! That was a long one!

Okay...the week is over! Thank god!!! It was a long one!! We got to leave @ 4:30 today...oh yeah!!!

Looking forward to a nice weekend!!! Tim and I are going to the big city tomorrow.... i am going to stop by tj maxx...gotta check for some capris...so I can run/walk on the warmer cold days at lunch!

And um....yes...its cold here....it was in the 30's this morning. I know it doesnt get as cold here...but we dont like these temps...lol.... i will take a hot day anyday over a cold one.

Just remmber i am a true south florida girl....born and raised....we moved 5 hrs north to south georgia...and boy the difference in temps...ita crazy!!!

Hope you all have a lovely evening!!!

Betty, doesn't she look amazing??? You would be surprised, my heart rate gets up there. I've been burning 300-400 calories during these workouts. Which I think is pretty good....

Good morning!!! Day 1 of not weighing....yes...I am doing it! Its scarey! But I am sure I will be okay!

Carolyn--- i also have a Cathe only pair of shoes! :)

Brrr...this cold weather is for the birds...come on spring!!! I ready to start my garden...got a few more months.....

Gotta get my cardio in..so Tim and I can get going....check back later!

Good morning.

Missy, so glad you are doing to refrain from weighing yourself. I do weight myself most days, but I am not a slave to the scale and don't let it upset me. I think it's something we have to learn to deal with. I also avoid it like the plague around the TOTM.

Carolyn, so glad DH is ok. I was worried yesterday. I never like barre workouts either but found a love for them with my knee. I'm going with it because it works right now. I'm learning with age we have to modify. I was just telling DH this morning that my knee upsets me more than not being able to eat dairy to gluten and I am ok with having to modify. He said, well I guess you have to do the same with your knee until its heeled. My hubby always the logical one...

I did a dance type workout this morning. Not bad but not really my thing. Then I did a good stretch afterwards. My heart rate did get elevated and I burned about 350 calories and my knee felt good.

Missy, I know you like Zumba. How's that in the knees?

We were going to go skiing today, but the condition were not great last night so DH an I decided last night to bag it for today. Of course we woke up this am the most of the trails are open so we might try for tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday.

Sitting in the truck heading north....going to buy a new racing cart for Tim. I am supportive in his hobby since he always supports me! It is a 3 hr round trip!

Colleen- zumba is fun...but you cant rely upon it to stay in shape. Most zumba instructors are fat. Lol...as for the knees...it can be hard on them because you are jumping around and up on toes twisting....I think you can easily twist your knees. Would not recommend it. I havent done zumba in awhile....just because most of the instructors are obsese and there high intensity is low intensity for me. But its all in what you like!!!

I killed my cardio session this morning!!! My legs were shaking when done! Oh yeah!!!

Tomorrow morning hopefully it will not be too cold...my friend and I are going to run the bletchers....ass blaster!!! :)

Hi Ladies. Today I did Cardio Leg Blast premix 1 and Core 2. I can't believe I am on week 3.

Missy I would love to run the bleachers. I keep asking my husband if we have any around here but he can never think of any. I am sure there are plenty. Don't all high schools have bleachers.

Not much to say now.

Jean

Oh I had no intentions if actually skiing. DH was going to ski while DD is taking a lesson and DS and I would just hang out. I do know how to ski, but just nervous with my knee.

I'm with ya on the mental health. It's my time and stress reliever.

How are he HCs going for you? I'm like them, but the lower body segments are too hard for my knee right now, so I put those on the back but jet for now.

Thanks for the feedback on Zumba. I was going to do it for cardio, but doesn't sound like a good option?

On our way home...about 45 minutes from home!!!

Yes...where ever there is a football field. We have a football stadium that has a track around the field. It is always open to public. Sometimes we run the track. 4 laps is a mile! Tomorrow we are doing bleachers and then running 3 miles!!!! Just checked temp...it will be 58 degrees at 10 am....perfect!!!

Quick check in for me. I'll be back tomorrow for personals.

AB for me this morning :)

Tony's Xmas work party is tonight. Gonna get all dressed up and even put makeup on ;)

Off to get ready....

Hey all,

What a long day. We took my nephew to baskeball before running off to a funeral (yes, another one). It's a close member of the family, so it was an all-day affair. My dinner plans with friends tonight had to be postponed.

I live in the Northeast and have never tried skiing, nor do I have the interest! (I recoil at any sports:eek:!) I would think skiing would be tough on knees.

My sis says Zumba is hard on her knees. I think the dvds might be more fun than the live classes. That's what my sis and I have tried. The music is sooo catchy.

Marie, have some fun adult time!

Jean, wow, you did Cardio Leg Blast. What did you think? Lots of jumping, for sure. Nice job reaching week 3!

Carolyn, it hit 50 degrees today! Still mild tomorrow, but I understand this coming week will be frigid! Teens! Long underwear anyone??
Do you have KickMax? There's a leg conditioning section that's kind of like barre, but with a chair. Yoga. Any dance dvds?
Hang in there. You'll get there with PT, chiro, orthotics. UB workouts.
You can buy potstickers frozen. I'll bet Sam's Club has some; Costco and BJ's do. Otherwise, Trader joe's has a Japanese version called gyozas.

Missy, good job stepping away from the scale! You'll be all right! You have all the right things in place--proactive healthy eating habits, proactive fitness.

Marie I heard your weather is going to be minus 15 with a high of 5 degrees. How on earth do you stand that? I guess you get used to it but I hope I never have to. Enjoy your party.

Betty your weather is about the same as ours in Md. I have done Cardio leg blast 3 times. Of course I don't like it but I do it. It seems like it takes forever. 68 minutes.

Colleen The closest I came to skiing is I rode a ski lift in the fall with no snow on the ground. That was enough for me.

Jean

Good evening!!!! I am home!!!

Tonight we made home made pizza!!! It was delish!!! We normally make our own dough...but because we were not home....i bought pizza dough from publix....they had a 5 grain pizza dough ball...i was super excited. Of course I got reg for Tim...but I had to have the 5 grain....it was the best!!!

Then we ran to publix....needed to get some cat food and blueberries!!!

Tomorrow...is laundry day!!!

Betty--- several years ago I had to jave the zumba dvds....i just loved zumba and what them to do on daya they did not offer it at the gym...well..I hated the dvds. The live classes were a blast....the dvds sucked....i then sold them on ebay! Lol....i just enjoy the live stuff much more!

Good morning

Betty, I am too sorry for your loss.

No workout for me yet today. Most likely it will be a rest day.

Carolyn, have you thought about doing some yoga? I was told that flexibility and stretching are really good for helping the knee. I used to do yoga and I would like to get back into as a supplement to my workouts.

Marie, how was the party?

We tired to take the kids bowling last night but we couldn't get a lane until after 8:30, so that didn't happen. No skiing today. I'm all stuffy and dd has a cough so better off not going. DD is very disappointed, but I'd rather not push it with her and make her worse.

Happy Sunday.

Hi Everyone. Today's w/o was Hard Strikes Premix 1 and Core 1. Yesterdays Cardio Leg Blast really works on the front of the thighs.
Todays movie is Downtown Abbey Season 1 Episodes 1 and 2.

Carolyn Have you tried the 2 yoga discs from Cathes last set. I forget what they are called. Also you can do your PT exercises and Core 1 and 2. I don't mean to sound like a broken record. Also you could do the extended stretch from STS. Butts and Guts has a wonderful stretch at the end of it. The music makes me want to go to sleep. Yea for you son. I assume this is hockey . I have only been on ice skates once. I didn't fall though. I would think you need great skill to play hockey on ice skates.

Jean

Hey gals!

Thanks for the sentiments. It was my bro-in-law's father, so not an immediate family member, but nonetheless.

I used to ice skate as a teen, then didn't resume it until my kids were of age. Even though I skated as much as I did as a teen, once I got back on the skates when we took our kids, I was still terrified! You know what really helps? Cathe! My legs are soooo much stronger now. I'll never be a figure skater, nor skate confidently like hockey players, nor go backwards, but I can stay upright.

I am very leery of Internet and privacy. I'm constantly battling with myself regarding how much to post because I feel like a hypocrite telling my kids not to post so much info, or any hourly narrative about their goings on. And I sort of do!:D So it's the usual guilt-is-my-middle-name war in my head.

Carolyn, I have not heard of Ultimate Yogi. I went and looked, and the program looks so very appealing! Everyone looks so good! Their studio is so nice! I've not done a yoga dvd with so many participants! That looks so fun!
Definitely pull all your yoga dvds out. Stretching would be so beneficial and also give you a sleek physique!
On the gyoza dumplings/potstickers, this is my favorite kind because the skin is nice and thin. TJ's sells chicken or pork filling.

I finally put away all my Christmas stuff today! Hallelujah!

Jean, high five on Hard Strikes! Very cardio-y.
I wouldn't go on a ski lift; it's also open! I'm terrified of heights! Although I did sit in a gondola (enclosed) in Banff to reach to the top of Sulphur Mtn, 7,500 feet above sea level! I had my eyes closed most of the time! Was so scared! I subjected myself to that ride 4 yrs before too!
Enjoy Downton Abbey! The first season is sooo good. I'm dying to watch the new episodes but am waiting for the dvd!

Betty I really enjoyed Downtown Abbey. I had to watch it twice because I got so many interuptions . I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. The next disc has 3 episodes and i can't wait to get it. Thanks for suggesting this.

Jean
