STS first time!

Hi everyone,

It was a light snow this morning adding up to about 3", and now it has been lightly raining for several hours. It's so cold and raw--going to sit by the fire.

Mary, I'm so glad you were safe from all those bad drivers out there. It's scary what people do during a snowstorm. That's an added winter stress that I could avoid if I were living in CA:D!
All of us in the back of our minds were hoping for a delay for some more sleep, but no. Our bus was punctual.
Savor your rest day. Try the yummy soup on your family and let me know how it goes.

Jean, both my kids don't enjoy playing the piano, especially DS2. For as much time as he spends practicing, why fight it, I always yell. Can't he just lose himself in the beauty of the music and the instrument?? I wish I could play too. I am a beginner and have a very slow brain for music and would be quite embarrassed to sit with our piano teacher.
I could just picture you with a Trans Am;).

Colleen, thanks for the reminder about the leg-crossing. I consciously try to avoid it to prevent pushing my fat calves around:confused:.
Yuck, performance reviews. I remember having to do them even as the work piled up. Great job getting them all done. No easy feat.

Marie, good luck going back to work! Is it actually tomorrow?? It will be a day of mixed feelings. Your body will still be thinking baby. You will think you smell him, even at work.

Missy, what does the state do for women, since men get the psa?? Help me understand why the state does it at all??
At my supermkt today, I saw the Gold Bond with hand sanitizer. I didn't buy it yet because it's $9!

Carolyn, hope you enjoyed working your bis and tris.
DS2 does not want to bring lunch to school. He'd rather buy from the cafeteria and spend $3.25 for lunch every day! It adds up! And almost daily I ask him, how was your chizza? The kid eats that so much he should look like a cheese pizza. Get it??

Ok, I cranked out the premix of Hard Strikes, Burn Sets Tris, Core #1 this morning. Yikes, HS had so much jumping around! Carolyn, this was a toughie on legs, even under ordinary circumstances!
Fifteen minutes in I wondered where the warmup was. Did I space out and miss it?? No, there definitely was no stretch after the warmup.
And goh-lly, have I done a ton of situps since this series started! I use my Cathe step mat (small), a yoga mat, and a pilates mat, all stacked, for my tailbone! It's tolerable like that.
And my glutes are still super tight today from Monday's dixie cup lunges! My shoulders are feeling sore too. Ahhh, doms!:D
Incidentally, I love the girls' sculpted legs, as they're lying with their sides to us, doing ab work.

Good evening..its 8:30...just got home and had dinner....oh the scale is going up tomorrow...my body does not like late dinners....and it also does not like no exercise....freaking out!!!

Betty--the women get paps and mammo.... it is part of the free health screenings they offr there employees. The gold bond is a little pricey...but as much sanitizer we use to stay healthly...its worth not having dry hands.

Oh and the premix with hard strikes....oh my...its my favorite!!!

Gotta take shower and head to bed..tomorrow is another early day....gotta get up an hour early.

Good night!

Good morning!

Up and on the treadmill!!!

And yes...the scale went up 1 pd....late night dinner are the beast! Looks like I will be working my ass off tonight!!! And the next week....I have 3 ps to lose! I can do it....just takes so high intensity Cathe and running...and in one week it should be gone!! Starting to get use to these earlier mornings..... omg...did I just say that? Lol

Check in later!

Missy, please don't sweat those few pounds! Your body fluctuates on a daily and weekly basis, and with your fitness regimen and healthy habits, pounds don't stand a chance. Enjoy where you are right now, fit, trim, and looking great!

I've had my gel uptempo sneakers box here since Tuesday. Finally opened it this morning. Yay, they fit! The color is, well, more rad than I would normally select, but I am ok with it! I wouldn't go as far as buying black sneakers but I'll get used to these.

Good morning!

Missy, I agree with Betty and Carolyn. Don't sweat it. They will come off.

I did cycle max today as well. It felt good.

Good luck at PT today.

Bbl.

Good afternoon...sitting at the front desk since we still have patients here and its lunch.....so I ate my lunch....chicken salad with crackers and cottage cheese with pineapples...yum yum! Hehehe

Thanks to everyone....you always make me feel better....i just love yall!!! Tonight I am restarting the 30 day with xtrain....i got so busy I was not able to stick to it....but I am hoping my evenings go back to normal....the morning are nuts...but thats okay!!!

Chat later....dr walking toward me.....

Gorilla legs!:D. That's hysterical!
Your PT guy is so nice!

Missy, I love chicken salad but when it comes time to make some, I can't bring myself to add mayo! I don't have a problem with adding mayo to make egg salad though:confused:!

I'm doing Cardio Leg Blast for the first time tomorrow so I'll try my new Asics with some athletic socks then.

I'm on my little device so I can't remember what else was posted!

Carolyn, hearing the insurance issues you've experienced the past few months makes me grateful for mine. Since your DH has a small business, you must have your own insurance.

That stinks Carolyn, but at least you don't have to go too far. Did your PT recommend orthotics?

My son was evaluated yesterday for his speech. He has trouble as well as we are going he gets accepted into the county program for speech. His isn't horrible but we'd prefer to get him the help sooner than later.

My knee is actually doing pretty well today. First time in a few weeks.

I woke up with a sore throat today and I'm exhausted. I've also eaten like a pig. Been grazing all day. DH had to work late so Im sitting here at piano lessons with my DD. I always eat bad when I don't plan out a proper meal. I had a few bowls of cereal and a brownie from the freezer for dinner. Oh well. I am rambling....

Too funny Jean. Yes I need to throw all the junk away in my freezer but I won't. At least there are only a few things in there that work for me these days. I have ton of cookies left over from the holidays in the freezer but I can't eat those...one good thing about my stomach issues.

Which by the way is doing really well. No dairy, gluten and almonds andI'm in good shape. I have no desire to go back to the doctor unless my stomach starts to bother me again. I've try every so often to see if I'm getting any better but no luck. I'm ok with that right now. My DH seems in agreement too.

Colleen, I'm very glad to hear you have your stomach and knee issues under control. The careful monitoring and adjusting is paying off. It's too bad you can't tolerate almonds. I eat slivers daily with my oatmeal.

Jean, where did you hear of Strawberry Bank?
My sneakers' colors are turquoise/charcoal. I do not like black sneakers, but that's me.

Carolyn, good luck at the chiro tomorrow. Much luck to DH on his CT! How has he been feeling, while waiting for this appt?

Made a chicken pot pie for dinner using rotiss chicken. I even made my own cream of chicken soup for the first time (for the gravy)!:D

Rhythmic Step for me this morning. Can you believe I got up at 4am?! I was determined to get a workout in today and knew I wouldn't do it when I got home from work.

Work was good. It felt nice to be back and everyone was so excited to see me. I sure did miss my boy though. On the way to work I heard the song that Tony first heard when he brought Breckin the nursery in the hospital. It's Ho Hey by The Lumineers. Every time we hear it we think of when he was born. Anyways, I heard it and just broke down. Tony sent me pictures all day and the day went really fast since we were so busy. When I got home I got a big 'ol smile from B. That was really cute....so happy to see mama :)

Tomorrow is Legs and work again 7-3:30.

Speaking of not being able to quit eating. I am on a roll tonight. I had potstickers and veggies for dinner and am about to have a bowl of Kashi Go Lean with almond butter...YUM!

Yes, I do take calcium supplements. I love almonds, but through my process I actually discovered I am allergic to them. I was breaking out in hives and itching. I thought it was stress but turned out to be an allergy.

Marie, good luck with the pumping at work. I remember those days all too well. I would pump twice a day at work and usually would get enough supply or the next day. I also pumped extra too and had a stock pile in the freezer.

Carolyn, good luck with DH today. Are you going with him?

I did ballet body again today. I'm finding that these workouts are really helping to strengthen my knee. I'm feeling pretty good this morning. DD woke up with a cough this morning.... DS seems to be on the mend.

Happy Friday!!!

Good Morning! I am back!!!!!!!! My receptionist back to work....so I am back in my office. I also....just ordered a new pair of shoes! YEAH!!! Says they will ship today and I should have them Tuesday!!!

Jean---Too funny....I told Tim last night that I needed him to remove my scale from the bathroom and maybe I will calm down. Out of site out of mind right??? I know my body is probably where it needs to be...and as long as I behave...the scale will just flucuate....I am okay with that...I just panic....

Tonight, After dinner I have decided to take a bath and curl up in the recliner and watch a movie on hulu or netflix!!! I havent done that in forever....and I think I deserve an evening of rest!

Tomorrow....is another story....I will be doing Low impact Hiit!!! Oh yeah...Cathe bring it on...I need a butt kicking.

Oh...It is freezing outside...I just hate cold weather....I told Tim if we didnt own a home...we would be moving to warmer climates...lol....I do love where we live...I guess I will just have to deal with it. I am ready for sunshine and shorts and tanks. I just want to be able to go running and not freeze! I havent been running outside due to the cold temps. I just cant handle it !

Today...I am having chili for lunch. I made it last night, to bring for lunch today. Looking forward to a warm meal to warm my insides. hehehehe

Carolyn---Hope all is well with your husband. Mine is finally feeling better. thankfully.

I am going to have to look into the workout you are talking of Colleen. I am always up for a new workout!

Okay...must go...lots to do...I am so far behind...havent been in my office in a week.

Later.... :)

I am actually doing the Ballet Body by Leah Sarago. Leah Sarago Fitness

Very different from Cathe, but I am loving the change right now. My legs and UB are exhausted by the end of the workout, but I feel it is gentler on my body. That is what I need right now to let my knee heel. I really do think it’s been helping my leg to build the quad muscle more for stability in my knee. Of course I’m no PT, but over the last week, my knee has been feeling better and better, not 100%, but I think I’m getting there. I also have been icing it every night…

Colleen I looked at her videos on you tube . She looks more ballarina like than the other girl. Cathe's stuff makes me tired so much. I noticed more than one person commenting on how tired they are after a few days of Xtrain. The body can only take so much of that. It is good to have stuff like this in your collection. I really think I may be getting to the easier stuff soon. This looks good. I will remember it for the future. I am sure between that and your spinning you are getting a great w/o.

Missy I am glad you are back. :D It is not freezing in Georgia. It is freezing in Maryland. Old man winter arrived last night.

Jean

Jean I am feeling very tired following the Xtrain rotation as well. Or it could be that I'm doing them at 5:30 am! But I do feel tired during the day and I still have DOMS in my glutes. Today I did Burn Sets Bis and Tris and core 1, and I made sure I used heavy weights (tho Cathe uses 20 lbs for bicep curls - I think I would hurt myself with those).

Missy, glad you are back to normal. And yes, it does sound like you deserve a night off, and curling up with a movie sounds perfect. Do you have a fireplace? We use our wood stove all the time in the winter, it really takes the chill off.

I have to drive to Hartford tonight with oldest for a huge volleyball tournament. Will be there all weekend so no Cathe but will try to get to the hotel gym if schedule permits. Have a good weekend all!

Hi gals!

I completed Cardio Leg Blast with Burn Sets Bis today, for 69 mins. CLB is a ton of high intensity and jumping, so Carolyn, this one is no good for you. (Don't sell your Cathes though; you never know when you might need them again. I have Ride and CM waiting in the wings on a shelf:D.)
My Asics were awesome! The cushioning is great! They are squeaky though, from the new plastic on the top surface. I think my knees and legs would have felt shredded if I hadn't put these on. The original pair of Rykas I have felt like this (many miles on them now), but the newer pair is lacking that protection:confused:.
Potstickers are like Peking raviolis, but maybe not as thick-skinned. Do you know those?
I hope all went well with DH's CT.

Jean, you're right that these workouts are tiring. I think I've been feeling it. The 30-day rotation selects such long workouts too! Mine have routinely been 60-70 mins!
I believe I'm 1 hr+ away from Carolyn.

Colleen, I love Leah Sarago's principles of lengthening muscle fibers and looking lean and sleek. If I weren't so wrapped up in getting cardio and weights in, I would love to do that kind of workout, as well as yoga/pilates. Waaah, I want to look like her!

Missy, it is NOT freezing in GA. Try MA. We have 20s and breezy today:confused:. Can you say frigid? I have the fire going now.
Your plan for tonight is long overdue. I love it! You certainly deserve it. You should do that once a week.

Marie, congrats on finishing your first day of work, PLUS preceding that with a 1-hr workout! You rock!

Enjoy your weekend, Mary! That's a 2.5 hr drive or so? Good luck to your daughter's team!

I've had a very minor migraine the past 24 hrs and even a nap this morning didn't take care of it. But jumping around and getting my blood pumping with Cathe did!;)
