Carolyn--- i totally agree with Colleen...MODIFY.... i do modify alot...i have a bad back...so I have to be very careful....it is all in what you can do...and only you know your limits....dont get discouraged....do what you can...and feel good about it.... you are a fit woman, healthy women, and most of all you have a wonderful family....eventually you will be back to 100%....

Colleen, you sounded JUST like my pt!! He gave me a big long speech yesterday about how form is so much more important than the weight you're using. I have been battling the fact that he is so against squats and lunges. He says that if i do them, don't use heavy wieght, if any at all. He also says to not go so deep. He said it isn't necessary, and it puts major strain on the joints in the knee. Soooooo, I am trying to listen!! He said that my knee was probably bothering me becasue I had done the slide back lunges the day before. He had me show him how I did it, and he said I was going far too deep and that I don't need to in order to get results. It has really helped to have him point out my "flaws". When we work out at home with Cathe it is easy to assume we are doing it right! When in fact, we can all benefit from some pointers. I wish I could keep seeing him once a week as a personal trainer.
Betty, way to go with B&G!!! That is a long workout but it is so effective!! That hands down made me lose an entire pant size!!
I ended up doing disc 27 biceps shoulders and triceps from meso 3. LOVED IT!! I had made a note at the top of the page that I loved the format, so I chose that one. It was great! I am happy to see that I still have my shoulder cap muscles that I gained from STS. I haven't seen them lately and thought that I had lost them. Nope! They are still there! Yay me! Now if only I could drop the muffin top. It isn't even a muffin top. It is more hangage! A muffin top is too perky compared to this! lol! Then I would maybe be able to see my hc six pac! Right now it is a 2...maybe a 4 pack! The other two are hiding!!

I wish we could have a personal trainer giving us that insight! That was so informative about the slide back lunges, Carolyn. I always feel like I have to go deep, but can't because it feels really unsafe to slide so far down on the discs, like I'll pull something. I'm so glad to know I don't have to!!! And the bit about light weights for lunges and squats being just fine. That is so good to know. I was dying today with 15# dumbbells doing the squats! And my knees are hurting from all those squats and lunges.
That is so impressive that you lost a pant size with B&G! I need to give it another whirl after the new year. And I will focus on my form.

Muffin top, hangage, flab--this time of the year is very bad for it. Sugar-laden cookies beget more sugar-laden cookies. Baking, cooking, all kinds of extra eating.

Good Evening Ladies. No w/o today. I didn't sleep good last night and I was so tired this morning. I packed up some stuff and purged some. It seems like no matter how much I do , it doesn't look like I did anything. This is very overwhelming. Then I heard about that horrible shooting in Conn. and I have been watching that alot. I hope all of you Moms are hugging your children and letting them know how much you Love them. This is such a terrible thing. I just feel so bad for those families. I cannot imagine how you deal with a tragedy like this. This world is such a mess. People can't even feel good about sending their children to school. It just really makes me sad.
I didn't get any jeans yesterday. The mall I went to didn't have Penneys. After looking at the skinny jeans at other stores , I think what I really want is just straight legged jeans.
Betty Thanks for letting us know the clip is up. I watched it and it looks fun and doable for me. Now I am more excited. Good for you for doing B & G in its entirety. Hearing Carolyn's success story makes me want to start doing it regularly also.

Carolyn That is alot of good info your PT guy is giving you. You should ask him if he would work with you on the side and how much he would charge. Once a week wouldn't be more than what your co-pays add up to. I hope you start to feel better soon. I know how unhappy you are with not being able to work out at the capacity that you like. You must be looking pretty good if you have a 4 pack.

Colleen Don't forget to get your sweet little dog a Christmas gift. I hope she is doing well. I saved her picture with her new haircut and sweater on. My pix scroll on my computer and one day her pic came up. It made me smile.

This world is definitely messed up. No one is safe. I am sickened by what happened to those innocent children. How can those parents cope with such horror? I would not be able to go on living. Ugh. So so painful. Makes me sick to my stomach. Its like it has become trendy to shoot up groups of people. Its all these darn video games and movies that people let their kids watch. Nothing is real to them.

Missy, I told my friend about your weight loss! She has lost 22 lbs so far! I am a little leary of how quickly she is losing it. As soon as she goes back to eating carbs she is going to gain. Diets dont work!! I have tried to tell her in the past. I am afraid to say anything this time around. I dont want to sabotage it!
