STS first time!

Carolyn, Here is my $.02 on my knee and HC workouts (and really all workouts). MODIFY!!!! It's what I do on a daily basis. Just b/c they do an exercise one way doesn't mean you need to do it. My motto lately has been form and not speed, going deep and really making sure my knee is aligned properly. It seems to have made a huge difference in what I feel in my knee. I get as good if not better workout. I defiantly agree that HC boot camp would not been good for you at this time. I do like vol 1 and I’m not a big fan of Vol 4 (it’s on the ball, but one to really workup to). In all honestly I haven’t done enough of the monthly 101 and Hardcore yet. But also with the HC I tend to concentrate more on the upper body and core and do the leg workouts but make the focus more on core. Does that make sense?? If I had to pick one of the monthly bundles I would just go with the 101’s. But I couldn’t decide, so I went with both. Mainly b/c it’s cheaper in the long run to get them both together. In my journey with my knee I have noticed that heavy weight lifting and a lot of repetition is not good for my knee. That’s why I decided to cut back on weight and really concentrate on form.

One thing that I have also noticed with the HC workout is the strength in my back. My back is SO much stronger. Any type of workout that require to be in a hinged position (like triceps kickbacks), I can sustain being in the position so much longer and I do not feel it in my back. Before my back would give out before my triceps would.

Today I did Athletic Training. I didn’t know what I wanted to do either this AM, but it fit the bill perfectly!

Thanks, Betty. I just really wish I could see the Abs that has formed. I know it’s all about weight, body fat and eating. My eating is spot on for the most part. I just really don’t want to lose any more weight. I am at my all-time low weight and I just would start to look unhealthy… So maybe xTrain will help to lean me out more without worrying about the weight aspect.

Jean, did you find any skinny jeans? I love the skinny jeans and boot look.

Carolyn--- i totally agree with Colleen...MODIFY.... i do modify alot...i have a bad back...so I have to be very careful....it is all in what you can do...and only you know your limits....dont get discouraged....do what you can...and feel good about it.... you are a fit woman, healthy women, and most of all you have a wonderful family....eventually you will be back to 100%....:)

It's sunny at least, cold start, but it's supposed to hit 50. Sunday we're supposed be getting a wintry mix of mess.:confused:

Well, I pulled out B&G today and did it in its entirety. I've never completed it! 79 mins--yikes! The squats and lunges were killers; I think if Cathe only put in one set of those duplicates, it'd be perfect. (I should make a note of that for next time.) I'm fried. By the time the planks came, I was way tired. They were the very last thing before the stretch! My core was wobbling, but I did them, trying to channel Sandra. Also, I think maybe from KM, I have been feeling a low back soreness all week, so my form could have been better.

Colleen, do you mean you have six-pack abs underneath a layer of muffin top?:D You are very conscientious with your eating, and I'm sure your layer is very minimal.;) You are awesome with getting all those challenging/tough workouts in every single day.

Carolyn, what did you decide on? How about TBT UB? Or PUB? Don't be discouraged. You are still working out most days, so you're keeping your fitness level up, which is wonderful. As Colleen says, modify. I think most of us modify in every workout.
Perhaps when XTrain comes, you can just do the UB parts in the beginning.

Missy, I am so excited for you! I love remodeling! Just not the steps it takes. I just want to snap my fingers and have it appear, like in Bewitched!

Colleen, you sounded JUST like my pt!! He gave me a big long speech yesterday about how form is so much more important than the weight you're using. I have been battling the fact that he is so against squats and lunges. He says that if i do them, don't use heavy wieght, if any at all. He also says to not go so deep. He said it isn't necessary, and it puts major strain on the joints in the knee. Soooooo, I am trying to listen!! He said that my knee was probably bothering me becasue I had done the slide back lunges the day before. He had me show him how I did it, and he said I was going far too deep and that I don't need to in order to get results. It has really helped to have him point out my "flaws". When we work out at home with Cathe it is easy to assume we are doing it right! When in fact, we can all benefit from some pointers. I wish I could keep seeing him once a week as a personal trainer.

Betty, way to go with B&G!!! That is a long workout but it is so effective!! That hands down made me lose an entire pant size!!

I ended up doing disc 27 biceps shoulders and triceps from meso 3. LOVED IT!! I had made a note at the top of the page that I loved the format, so I chose that one. It was great! I am happy to see that I still have my shoulder cap muscles that I gained from STS. I haven't seen them lately and thought that I had lost them. Nope! They are still there! Yay me! Now if only I could drop the muffin top. It isn't even a muffin top. It is more hangage! A muffin top is too perky compared to this! lol! Then I would maybe be able to see my hc six pac! Right now it is a 2...maybe a 4 pack! The other two are hiding!!

Lunch break...Tim & I are heading to our favorite restaurant...coyoacan...yes "mexican".... so excited....we eat there every other week....it is so good....thought Tim deserved it since he is working so hard in my gym!!! Things are progressing.....cant wait .....

I wish we could have a personal trainer giving us that insight! That was so informative about the slide back lunges, Carolyn. I always feel like I have to go deep, but can't because it feels really unsafe to slide so far down on the discs, like I'll pull something. I'm so glad to know I don't have to!!! And the bit about light weights for lunges and squats being just fine. That is so good to know. I was dying today with 15# dumbbells doing the squats! And my knees are hurting from all those squats and lunges.:confused:

Good Evening Ladies. No w/o today. I didn't sleep good last night and I was so tired this morning. I packed up some stuff and purged some. It seems like no matter how much I do , it doesn't look like I did anything. This is very overwhelming. Then I heard about that horrible shooting in Conn. and I have been watching that alot. I hope all of you Moms are hugging your children and letting them know how much you Love them. This is such a terrible thing. I just feel so bad for those families. I cannot imagine how you deal with a tragedy like this. This world is such a mess. People can't even feel good about sending their children to school. It just really makes me sad.
I didn't get any jeans yesterday. The mall I went to didn't have Penneys. After looking at the skinny jeans at other stores , I think what I really want is just straight legged jeans.

Betty Thanks for letting us know the clip is up. I watched it and it looks fun and doable for me. Now I am more excited. Good for you for doing B & G in its entirety. Hearing Carolyn's success story makes me want to start doing it regularly also.

Missy Your room is looking so good. Your husband looks like he knows what he is doing. Good Luck at the 5K tomorrow. You're looking tiny. If you don't mind my asking , what size jeans are you in? I would guess a size 2.

Carolyn That is alot of good info your PT guy is giving you. You should ask him if he would work with you on the side and how much he would charge. Once a week wouldn't be more than what your co-pays add up to. I hope you start to feel better soon. I know how unhappy you are with not being able to work out at the capacity that you like. You must be looking pretty good if you have a 4 pack.

Marie B is so cute. That picture of him smiling is so sweet. It sounds like you are back to normal with your Cathe w/o's. I am glad that you are enjoying Motherhood.

Colleen Don't forget to get your sweet little dog a Christmas gift. I hope she is doing well. I saved her picture with her new haircut and sweater on. My pix scroll on my computer and one day her pic came up. It made me smile.

I was just cleaning out my closet and found a picture of me in a bikini...it was aweful....cant believe i was that big....all i can say...is i will never get to that again... i am happy.....

Jean---the picture was a printed picture....I have tried in the past to scan it and post...but I cant....not sure why??? I showed it to Tim....he said that doesnt even look like you....hehehehe:confused: As for the sizes....see I am the perfect size now!!!! Off to shower and get ready for bed....gotta get up early....I have to leave my house in the morning by 7:15....the race starts at 8 am....and yes it is going to be cold!!!! As for the pictures....I am a scrapbooker...so I am always taking pictures!!!! Everywhere I go...hehehe:eek:
 
This world is definitely messed up. No one is safe. I am sickened by what happened to those innocent children. How can those parents cope with such horror? I would not be able to go on living. Ugh. So so painful. Makes me sick to my stomach. Its like it has become trendy to shoot up groups of people. Its all these darn video games and movies that people let their kids watch. Nothing is real to them.

I cant even go on talking about it.

Today is my leg day. I am not sure if I will try cm yet or not. I am kinda scared. I might just stick to b&g floorwork and firewalkers.

Hi girls!!

Absolute tragedy words can't describe. I'm with you Carolyn. I can't talk about it and every time I hear it in the news I start crying.

No workout for me today. I attempted (workout clothes on and turned on the TV ad did 15 minutes of CSS) but couldn't fit in the rest today. I was out the door at 9 to finish some last minute shopping and the hit the grocery store. Got home at 12:30 fed the family lunch. Then I decided to make myself some brownies. I have really been craving chocolate. They were really good. Made from brown rice flour. I had two now I have to freeze the rest so I don't eat them all.

We are getting family pictures taken this afternoon first time ever and I am so exited.

Missy, your floor looks awesome. Can you lend out Tim to me to do my floors (haha). Congrats on your race today.

Carolyn, have fun getting your tree.

Jean, I already got cuddles present. Here is a newer pic of cuddles that I think you'll enjoy.

Betty, yes under my muffin top are my abs. Honestly how so you get them to come out??? I've never been happier with how my body is looking, but j guess its just unrealistic expectations. Hubby tell me if I six pack abs well celebrate by going somewhere I can show them off!!!!

We are still waiting for dh to get home from work. He is late! We were supposed to go to lunch too. Carolyns getting cranky!

Missy, I told my friend about your weight loss! She has lost 22 lbs so far! I am a little leary of how quickly she is losing it. As soon as she goes back to eating carbs she is going to gain. Diets dont work!! I have tried to tell her in the past. I am afraid to say anything this time around. I dont want to sabotage it!

It is funny you mention it.....70 pds ago i could barely walk...had such back pain it was radating down leg and had pins and needles...was on nerve relaxer and still did not help...drs wantec to have nerve testing done...i askef if it was due to wrigjt....he said no...lost 15 pds and it went completely away....u have never felt better....as for you friend Carloyn----sometimes things are left better unsaid...she will find out eventually...slow loss is best so your body has time to shrink (skin) i have none hanging....i know people who lose fast and look terrible when clothes come off!!!

Colleen---- tim is not a northern boy....hates cold weather...so it may have to wait till summer...lol

Tim is finishing the molding....looks beautiful...i will post pictures as soon as it is complete!!!!

Hey all! CF today! That and TTM rock my world! I'm so in love with those workouts. I still have to modify abs....assuming I will have to for awhile. That Supercuts clip looks outstanding.
