STS first time!

Betty- Thanks for sharing. Glad to know I'm not alone when it comes to the visitors. I feel selfish sometimes that I just want family time but I'm done feeling that way. That's what's most important to me now.

Carolyn- How is hubby? Thinking of you guys.

Colleen- Your kids are so cute! Love your dtr's dark hair and eyes.

Missy- Hope you got your morning workout in.

Hi Jean and Becky!

Feeding time for B. Must figure out how to feed and have both hands free.

Thanks all for the compliments! I'm so in love with him. Becoming a mom is truly one the best things that has happened to me.

Got cleared to walk any distance at my appt but no Cathe for another 4 weeks.

Got blonde highlights and a trim too. So happy to get rid of the gray and get pampered.

Diaper change and back to bed for us.

Carolyn, I hope you DH is ok and wish him luck at his appointment today. Hope your physical goes well too. That is a shame with the ER.

Marie, that is great that you have the go ahead to walk! Getting outside for some walk will do the body good. I'm glad that you are resting with the baby is sleeping. I think that helps you to recover quicker. My Mom and Dad came up and stayed for several days after my Son was born. It was bitter sweet. Nice that they wanted to be there, but I wanted to get in our own routine and not share my new bundle of joy…. It’s especially hard when nursing b/C they can’t really help that much. I remember my Mom coming in when the baby would wake up in the middle of the night and I just wanted our time together to nurse, but she was right there. I know she was just trying to help…

Last night I downloaded High Step Training. I know I have DVD that I have never done of Cathe’s so not sure why I needed a new one, but I love high step challenge, that I wanted this one too. I did it this morning. What a great workout!! My muscles were on fire and my heart rate stayed up the entire time. I burned 450 calories! I used a 30 pound barbell, 5 and 12 instead of the 10s she used. Boy she loves the leg presses in that one. Oh and I’m really feeling my core from HC yesterday. I was so glad there was no core work in HST because I was going to skip if it there was.

Happy Friday! BBL

Becky, I loved Meso 2 as well. It's nice and controlled, as well as orderly!:D Love the longer breaks too.
Good luck with your dad. We're all pulling for him.

Colleen, your kids looked adorable in their costumes! Halloween involves passing out candy now that my kids are older. And we have never been fans of this holiday!
I've never purchased a Cathe calendar, nor had the desire for one.
Way to go buying HST! Carolyn and Missy have been urging that purchase for a long time. I still think of it here and there. At one point I saw it on eBay (from Collage) for 16.99 free ship, and I didn't buy. Then it went up to 21.99, and now it's 24.99. Guess I missed the boat on that one. I kept talking myself out of it because it's old. And I have so many DVDs that I don't need another one. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
Wow, your mom was so helpful coming in in the middle of the night! I don't think I could get up! But I know what you mean. For me, I resented a lot of my visitors because I felt like crap for a long time.

Carolyn, I'm hoping you had your physical, and poor DH gets some satisfaction. The ER was infuriating! To wait that long! Yes, there are life and death situations there, but pay the non-life-threatening cases some attention! Sending good wishes your way.
Don't postpone your surgery; wait to see what DH needs done first.
Incidentally, I keep meaning to tell you that you have a great way with words! I love it!

Marie, do you have one of those boppy pillows? They're firm, c-shaped, so that you can prop the baby and almost be hands-free. I got one with my second DS. Or maybe they didn't exist when I had my first DS. (During the 6 yrs between my two kids, sippy cups underwent a major improvement!)
What a great feeling that must have been to be pampered!
I sort of remember that the first month or two with my newborn, time almost came to a standstill... Enjoy and nuzzle him extra.

Oh yeah, I did CB this morning. Haven't done it in a very long time, and was pleasantly surprised that it is so doable, now that I have those LIS and TTM/CF workouts under my belt!:D I'm so proud that the pushups I can do on my toes!
DH has a forced vacation day so we went to a diner for breakfast. Bad girl. Lots of white carbs, sugar and cream in my coffee (infinitely prefer espresso any day!), sugar in maple syrup. Enjoyed 2 eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, french toast; shared DH's corned beef hash. Yes, my calories outweighed two days' worth of workouts!

Hi Missy and Jean!

Have a good evening!

Becky, I remember loving Meso 2 as well. It was more of the format that I was used to by working one muscle group at a time.
I wish the best for your dad. I really hope they can do the surgery. FIngers are crossed! toes too!

I hope I can do cardio tomorrow. I think I might have to HC tomorrow because I won't be able to use my legs!lol! gotta love DOMS!

Thank you so much! I have lots of DOMS today -- I didn't feel the work in my chest yesterday, I felt it much more in my shoulders and triceps, but today, I have DOMS all over my upper body, so I guess I hit all those muscles after all.:p

Today was Cross Fire. I did about 40 minutes of it, then did the Bonus Core. I was so sore that I could barely make it through the soldier planks. I love the variety of CF -- lots of fun, and it takes my mind off the fact that I'm dying from lack of oxygen.

Good morning.

I did cross fire today. Well most of it. I had to modify some b/c my knee was bothering me and I didn't want to aggravate it more. I could not so the warrior lunge and theist pylo tabata. I jumped on the spin bike and did that during the last tabata. My knee has been really good this week and I'm really trying to pay attention when I feel exercises in the wrong way. I think the going to flats have made a big difference as well.

Betty your breakfast sounded wonderful. Breakfast if by far my favorite meal. Lots of time i will have breakfast for dinner.

Carolyn I hope your hubby feels better soon. I too live skinny cow ice cream. My favorite is the round sandwiches. The fudge bars drizzled with chocolate are good too and the cones. Oh how I miss ice cream.

Jean, I wear a heart rate monitor. I have the polar f60. I also have the GPS monitor that will tell me distance I go when I bike or run. I am a data girl. Love the feedback to track my energy and calories I burned. Do you eat with your husband when he gets home. I don't like eating late either. I find when I do I end up snacking more.

I'm getting my hair colored and cut today. My greys are really showing.

Good Afternoon friends! I know I have been MIA lately. Busy Busy!!!

Friday I had to workout front desk, and then I left work early to rush hoe to get ready to attend a humane society event for horses. It was at a plantation here in town. It was really nice. I went went my friend and my husband. I didnt get home till 11:00. Okay...that is way pastmy bed time!!!

Then saturday, I woke up went running, errands to do, then I got busy here and before I knew it, I had to get dressed to meet some friends for mexican!!! Once, again did not get home till 10:30.

Today, doing launry, cooking, finishing my out doors chores. I have to finish the raking because all of the trees have left a mess on my lawn....it makes me crazy! I always want a clean yard.

Also, tim and I just got home from Lowes. Tim is going to build our outside children (cats) a house for winter!

I hope everybody is doing well.

Carolyn---I hope your hubby is feeling better. Also, is your surgery tomorrow? Or when? I am sure everything will be fine....good luck and keep us posted!

I am thinking about preordering the cathe calendar....but not 100% sure!!!

Also....this is my favorite time of year....Christmas is coming!!! Yeah!!!! I started christmas shopping this week!!! Call me crazy but, I like to have the majority of it done by thanksgiving!!! I also "LOVE" black friday shopping....3 weeks to go!!! hehehehe

Okay...off to do some yard work. Be back later...I promise!!!

Happy Eastern Standard Time day! Gaining the extra hour is short-lived since it'll be dark sooner:(.

Carolyn, your poor DH. I feel so badly for him! How can he not get sustenance? Do the doctors expect him to just sit around and waste away until the appt? Idk anything about diverticulitis; must read up on it.
You sure got a lot of info at your physical. So validating is right, on the Bakers cyst. Don't you love it when the doctor gets you? TMI, on the MVP though.

Thanks for the pushups high-fives. It was so seamless it wasn't noticeable, because one day I just didn't drop down to my knees. Granted, I can't do that many, but still!:D For me, I attribute this achievement more to the advent of LIS and CF/TTM than STS (too many standard pushups).

My very poor eating-like-a-mad-cow continues:D. My DH gleefully bought so much meat the other day and packages of white-floured english muffins. I am JUST. SO. TIRED. of battling the bad food, minimizing meat, and constantly thinking about eating uber healthy. I have to fight it all on my own since everyone else loves to grab the unhealthy food, sort of like an in-your-face thing. Why is human nature so contrary??
Also, I had a craving for ice cream last night so I ate a little cookies-and-cream. (Sorry, Colleen.)

Jean, I'll check out your recipe later. Sounds delicious though!

Colleen, your hair appt must have felt Ahhh! What a great feeling.

Becky, how did you like the legs workout? Ow is right!

Hi Missy, you Taz devil! What a gorgeous pic!

Thanks Betty and Jean! So sweet! Me and my hubby will be together 13 years this coming May! Looking forward to many many more! I love him dearly. I think the love shows in that picture! And thanks for the compliments!!! It was alot of work to get there......and I will never go back! Loving my look these days!!! :):)

Off to dinner with the inlaws...and then back for some Cathe!!! Have a nice dinner!!! :)

Becky, how did you like the legs workout? Ow is right!

I liked the format a lot -- trisets make the time go fast for me. But I just have NO endurance in my legs, so all those lunges ... they wear me out! And today ... oh the DOMS! I can't even sit. Having two weeks off instead of just one between mesos and then coming back to STS really hit me hard. I really like Meso 2, but wow -- it is tough!

Good Morning Girls,

So last night I had this long post and I lost it, so I gave up... So let’s try it again!

Yesterday I did HC boot camp for the first time. Oh my, what a workout. I thought it was never going to end, but I really enjoyed it. It's a very hard work out. I burned 500 calories! She does 1 minute of HC and then 1 minute of plyo work. I was hesitant of the plyo work with my leg, but I did really well. I did modify a few parts (both Plyo and HC) and didn't get through all the 1 minute segments stopping. I can really feel my upper body today.

Today I did Cyclemax. My energy was low this morning, but I still went 14 miles, and burned 350 calories.

Carolyn, I feel so bad for you DH. When does he go back to the DR? Good luck tomorrow on your surgery. I will be thinking of you.

Missy, love the picture of you with your hubby. You two look so happy and you look wonderful.

I made some more homemade larbars yesterday. This was the receipt I used:
Hot Fudge Brownie Larabars

I was also craving chocolate chip cookies so I found a grain free cookie to make. They are also egg free (which I do eat eggs, love my eggs). even DH and DD like the cookies:
The Urban Poser:: Perfect 'Grain Free' Chocolate Chip Cookies (also dairy/egg free)

Jean, my shih tzu went to the groomer this weekend. She is now so cold; we had to put her sweater on! The Healthy Squash & Chicken Casserole sounds really good. I was just reading a recipe last night on The Queen of Quinoa blog on a chicken and pumpkin bake. Love the fall favors! Gluten-Free Pumpkin & Chicken Baked Pasta | Queen of Quinoa | Gluten-free + Quinoa Recipes

Betty, it did feel good to get my hair done. I had to reschedule multiple times so I was way overdue. I know it's hard when family members aren't all on the clean eating bandwagon. Fortunately my hubby does not do the grocery shopping or cooking. Many times I have changed receipts on him and he had no idea. I am always trying home baked goods on my kids to get them away from the proceed foods with the crap in them. Sometimes they are a hit, sometimes not. I made homemade donuts a few weeks back (ones that you bake) with whole wheat flour the kids loved them. They did have good old fashioned white sugar in them, but with minimal ingredients.
My daughter turns 8 on Wednesday and we are having a family party for her on Saturday. I have to start thinking about what I will be making for lunch (we have family coming from a few different states).

Becky, Good job on the legs. The DOMS is bettersweet! Keep up the great work!!

Have a great Monday. BBL

Carolyn, what time is your surgery tomorrow? Will be thinking of you. Good luck in your surgery & recovery!
When did you end up voting?
How's DH?

Colleen, those recipe links look promising. I'll check it out. Great job!
I have quinoa but rarely remember to take it out unless I have a recipe book in front of me. That applies to a lot of my cooking!:D
Thanks for understanding. You give me courage to continue the battling:D! Your kids are young enough that they'll do as you say and do. Since my kids are older, they are far too opinionated! And already long exposed to processed foods. And like them!
I do most of the shopping & cooking too but still I wonder why they all can't just accept what I cook as gospel, since I'm the only one watching out for what we eat??

I did AT this morning and I was dying during the step work. Geez, you'd think I'd never done the workout before.

Jean, I saw that movie, but can't for the life of me remember it. It wasn't that great.
Phew, on your senior dog!

Good luck to us East Coasters on another looming Atlantic storm!

Good Morning! Wanted to say hello quickly! It has been a "Monday" here today. I only answer the phones when it is crazy....well I have been answering them today. Everybody is swamped!!! People everywhere! Is the moon full?????

Thanks for all the wonderful compliments!!!

Jean---the barn is at the back of the property and the cats stay up at our house...so Tim is building them a house. I have brought hay up and they do like it but....the little ones play in it and have it scattered all over.....i just rake it up and pile it up for them and they have a good time. It is so cute to see all of them snuggling!!! Too cute!

Well, I got up this morning but only got to do 30 minutes on the elliptical....tonight I am going running with my friend. We are going to run 4 miles. The I am going to come home and do Ab circuits with Cathe!!! We have a 5k run this weekend...so we are trying to increase our speed....

Okay...gotta run...be back

BTW...Carolyn---get us posted with your surgery tomorrow and good luck!!!

Colleen---let me know when you fo HST...it is the best workout!!! I am excited you have it now!!! :)

Jean, I think we posted simultaneously earlier. Keep those clean eating recipes coming. Love them! Will check out yours too later when I get on a computer.
I remember the movie now. What a vicious kid.
You are to be admired, being near 60 and doing such tough workouts. I feel as you do after a workout though. Give your body a rest when it needs it.

However do you like squats?? I was going to do B&G today in solidarity with Carolyn, then I thought, ugh, squats & lunges!

OMG! I posted the 4000th! Wow. I had no idea since I was on the little electronic device!

Let's just hope nothing much will come with the latest storm.

Jean, I looked up Parvo. Your friend is asking a lot, isn't she?? That clean eating recipe looks delicious.

Colleen, those recipes look amazing! Especially the cookie and Larabar ones. I would need to get coconut oil, almond flour, well, just about everything. I do have dates though!

Carolyn, where are you?? Need your update! Ha, we are posting at the same time!

We have absolutely frigid air today!

Good Afternoon ladies...let me just say...I hate that it gets dark early. I get home after work and its dark.... Not time to do anything outside except weekends!!!!

Well...I complain about it every year...so I guess I will just deal with it!!!!!

Carolyn---way to go with HST....

What clean eating cookbooks to you use? I am looking for some new receipes and not sure which ones to buy.....

Thanks....I will be back after my run tonight...yes run under the lights...but what can you do? You just deal with the time change...hehehehe :)
