STS first time!

Carolyn, I know what you mean about cooking. I am not creative and out-of-the-box (pun) when it comes to it.

More equipment sounds like fun!

I kind of wish Cathe would give all preorders her cool XTrain tshirt!

I ate so poorly today with DS home:mad:

Good Morning! Just checking in quickly before going to work. Is everybody okay?

Carolyn---I so need one of the pads. I think that would really tight up the glutes!!! I didnt get to watch the entire video (time)...I will later. Where can we buy the pad? I so want it!

Be back when I get to work!:D

Good Morning Ladies,

We are good here in PA. Lot of high winds and rain keep me up most of the night and we never lost power - which I was very happily surprised.

We haven't had much update on what's going on in OC NJ. No one is on the island so I'm anxious to hear what the status in there.

No workout yet. I ended up sleeping in since the winds and rain keep me up. I'm going to try to get a spinning workout in later.

Kids are very restless today..

Carolyn, get a movin today. No excuses, right??

I think eating bad was just called for yesterday. With kiddies around and the stress of the storm, but today is a new day, right?

Glad everyone is ok.

I hope Becky’s father was able to have his surgery.

We're fine here! We are usually a slow-to-wake household if we don't have school or appts to get us going. We slept late. It wastes the day:confused:.

Right now it's overcast, but about an hour ago, the skies were blue. It's mild though, with a slight breeze.

Overnight last night, it was still as anything--I didn't hear rain or wind. And except for a blink sometime in the night, we didn't lose our power, thankfully!:) I'm waiting for the noon news and I think the images will be very sobering.

Colleen and Jean, glad to hear you gals are all right. The storm eye seemed so close to your states. Jean, did you have to sleep in your basement?

Carolyn, you must have worked out by now??

I wonder what the roads and supermkts are like...

Betty, we were slow to get up too. Didn't get out until 8!! Glad you all are safe.

I did turn and burn today ( spinning DVD) did 15 miles and burned 350 calories. I didn't like this one at first but the more I do it the better I like it. Good interval training.

I am really getting excited for xTrain.

I tired to schedule my follow up mammogram today but the office is closed. They open back up tomorrow.

Back to work...

Jean, I never cook for lunch either. I was expecting power to go out so I thought why not enjoy a hot meal while we can.

Carolyn, hope your cramps feel better.

Good Afternoon! So glad to hear everyone is okay!!!

Carolyn---So glad you got your workout in today!!! I am sure you feel much better now! Except for the monthly monster.....that means mine is coming....Oh NO!!!!! I sure don't want it to visit!!! Guess I have no choice, or it would never visit!!! hahahaha :)

I am so freaking busy...I have not been in my office since last Wednesday....I am trying to get all of these piles done! I love to have the days off, but I sure pay for it when I return!!!

Be back....so much to do!

Hello all,

Thanks, Jean and cdimatt and all the rest of you for thinking of us, especially my dad. It's been kind of frustrating here, as the hospital was all ready to do his surgery, despite the storm, and Dad was ready. He had the tests and all and everything looked great. But when they put him under and tried to start his arterial line, he started bleeding. His clotting factors dropped drastically and they had to cancel the surgery as it was too risky. They've run a lot of tests, but they cannot figure out what caused this. Tomorrow, they are sending us home to start seeing a hematologist, because they aren't sure what else to do. It's a real head-scratcher, as his clotting factor was fine at 9am, but had bottomed out by 2 pm when they tried to operate. We are trying to just be patient and are thankful that it happened before the actual surgery, and not during or immediately after, as it would almost certainly have been fatal.

The storm here is Baltmore wasn't bad at all around the hospital area. The facility here is so nice -- the apartment they lent us is connected to the hospital via a sky bridge, so we didn't even need to get wet going back and forth. The staff has been so helpful and sweet during this uncertain time.

I hope you are all staying safe, have electricity and are doing well!

Becky---I am so sorry about your dad. I wish your Dad the best! Just keep your hopes up and hopefully everything will be fine. In all my years in the medical field....if the patient have the will, normally the outcome is much better. I will keep your family in my thoughts!

Carolyn---I looked on ebay for the foam roller to put over my barbell, but just curious....how long should it be? The look prety short...I would want it to cover my thigh area for comfort????

Also...when I went to the running store weeks ago to buy my new shoes (the pink ones)...it came down to 2 pair. So I just won an auction for the pair I also wanted. I just got it for $66....they sell online and at the local running store for $140. Want a deal!!! AWESOME!!!!! Very excited!

Off to workout!!! Oh...and have I said I hate the cold weather. It has been cold here for 2 days and I am already tired of it!!! :)

Be back!

Happy Halloween!! Checking in with a rest day today. Should of probably worked out given it is Halloween, but it's been 6 days straight and needed the rest. oh well.

I have my eye appt today and my folloup Mamo tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day. BBL for personals.

Happy Halloween! Not sure what I'll exercise to today yet. Just came back from market. Never go this early! DH had to get gas so I hopped along.

Carolyn, get thee to your basement when you get back. Some HC perhaps, or Burn & Build (is there low impact or just UB?)... Do something!

BBL

Becky, I am sorry to hear about your father. I am glad they caught it before the surgery. I hope he will be able to have the surgery soon.

-Colleen

Hey all,

I pulled out TBT TB Express. I really love that it doesn't have endless traditional squats. In fact, I'm preferring these more modern versions of squats to the older ones at the moment. At 49 mins, I wish the workout were about 5 minutes longer though. I could have used more reps of anything.

Becky, I'm so sorry for you and your family's disappointment! It is so hard when you just want the surgery to be done so you can start the healing process. Hopefully he stabilizes very soon and can get back to taking care of this business. Johns Hopkins sounds amazing. At such a difficult time, it is priceless that the staff is responsive and caring, and the lodging is comfy and convenient. I continue to pull for you and your dad. Fingers crossed and healing thoughts his way.

Carolyn, breakfast with DH sounds fun! I may do that on Friday, when DH has a forced day off. We'll see. He doesn't like to eat out, preferring to eat whatever at home. I love breakfast foods more than anything!
I really enjoyed doing library duty during DS's class library time in elementary school. That was one thing I did do regularly over the years. I always say I'm a closet librarian. I would carefully shelve the books, and treat the books lovingly.

Speaking of which, Jean, how was that book?

Colleen, good luck with your followup mammo tomorrow and your eye appt today! Like Carolyn says, the baseline mammo must be established, so it's routine.

I watched that Bret Contreras clip. Intimidating! I've never worked out in a gym, and guys like that scare me! He can probably press a gazillion lbs! I can't wait for Cathe's version.:D

Carolyn---Girl....closet ice cream eater???? Bad! Bad! BAD!!!!! You better get back on board with HST!!! It will get the weight of the thighs!!! Also...probably not running too!!! Stick with your workouts!!!! And then you can have ice cream! No ice cream on days you don't workout!!!!

Still busy....end of month!!! Reports, reports, reports!!!

Be back!!

BTW....I meant to say, I am so sore from all the pushups last night! I must have done at least 80! OMG!!!

Jean---I am so proud of you! I bet you look smokin! Keep up the good work!

Okay ladies....this is crunch time....we need to eat "clean" for the next few weeks...so we can splurge on thanksgiving!!!! And then of course....my favorite...CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Okay...so I worked my butt off at work these past few days...and I just finished all of the end of month stuff! Yeah!!!!

Now, I can start fresh tomorrow! Well, as fresh as I can in the billing world!!! hehehehe

Our weather is starting to warm up a little...thank god! I was gettting fussy!

I am hoping it gets back to normal so I can go running. I do not like to run when it is freezing cold. Freezing to this southern girl is in the 40's!!!! I am a warm weather chick!!!!

:)
