Strong & Sensible

Tracy, treat yo-self! Now I'm interested in stitch fix, tracy do you get a referral bonus? Lmk.
I'm off today but will go see mom after work out laundry etc. The last 3days were busy at work- NICU ER ICU assignments so too much switching for routine or rut. Work flow manifests right about end of shift!
Bbl with workout!
ETA this was my workout last Mon Low Max and a make up version of LIHI CTS,

Hi everyone! Been missing! Have been working out tho!

Jody, did you Love Hamilton? It’s coming out a a movie in October of 2021. Is it hard switching around departments like that? Especially NICU, so specialized.

Tracey, ahh! Enjoy Arizona! DH and I are going to Vegas with friends in April. His brother gave us plane tickets and we found a really good price at the Paris hotel. So excited! I won’t gamble much, I’m going to enjoy the pool, my books, DH and friends.

Lisa, the baby is coming soon!!! How excited are you? All of the fun and you will get to sleep at night!

Jody, I almost forgot, your mom, she didn’t need surgery did she? Was it her dominant arm? Such a hassle.

Ronne, how’s work? Will you get vacation this year? At least long weekends? That would be the hardest adjusting to, their schedule, crack myself up! Lol.

Not much here, working, chilly. Had to order everyone’s graduation gowns. Seems far yet so close at the same time! Hope everyone has a good day!
Mary

Hi all

Can't believe where the time has gone!!

Mary - Do the 'kids' graduate this summer? How exciting! The Vegas trip sounds fun. You're the lucky one around here so I bet you'll win something. Yes, I've got 21 days to use before the end of September (the holiday is pretty generous) so we'll have a couple of trips.

Tracy - so is Stitch Fix like a veg box but for clothes?

Jody - sounds like your work schedule has been full on. Hope your mum is doing better. Did you enjoy Hamilton? Yeah, DD is doing OK now. I think she's settled down and is enjoying herself more. She's got her accommodation sorted out for next year, she's renting a house with two other students.

Lisa - how exciting about your first grandchild. Lots of fun to look forward to.

So, I've been keeping up with the 4x a week exercise plan. The extra walking to work and moving around at work is keeping me trim as well. I feel in decent shape. I have now found another bus route though that cuts out some of the walking and can get me there quicker. I got home in 15 mins tonight!
Won't be much exercise going on over the next few days as I'm out tomorrow night and then we're going to see DD at the weekend. I'm so looking forward to it. She's going to show us around.
Have a great weekend everyone, and I'll try to get back here a bit sooner!

Hi fit babes!

Thank you Jody! There is a referral bonus of $50 going on for a limited time (I don't know how limited) but it's usually $25, I would get it and you would get it if you buy something. If you are interested, feel free to message me on FB or here and I can give you the code. I think that's how it works! :) How is your mom doing? Hope you are not bored or too crazy busy at work!

Have you been to Vegas before Mary? It's so much fun--lots to see! If you can, try to see Cirque del Soleil's "O" if you plan to see a show. Incredible acrobatics and "O" is done with water. I think there's 6 Cirque shows going in Vegas all the time. The last time we went, we didn't gamble at all. We watched some people play the tables though. Your kids' graduations will be here before you know it! My boss has twins graduating from college this year--one in Boston, the other in CA! I don't think I'll see her the months of May and June. :D

Hi Ronne! I'm glad you get holiday time this year, that is great! I was able to take time off with my new job even though I was on probation. That was because I was already a permanent state employee. OK! I was a little confused about that but I was happy I could take vacations! Yes, Stitch Fix is like a veg box but for clothes. But you can tell them what you like and don't like and what you want and don't want, etc. There's a better chance you'll like what they send the more info you give. Glad you are able to exercise with all of the newness of your job! And I'm jealous you got home in 15 minutes today!

Hi Lisa! Hope you have had decent outdoor riding weather! We have a new policy are work--infants in the workplace! We had one come in today. She is 2 months old and so cute! I think she'll be working with her dad in the office at least once a week. Just seeing her made any stress I had melt away.

My friend who does Beach Body has talked me into doing "The Work" with her. It for sure is going to kill me because people apparently curse up a storm in these workouts. Hence, they will only be done at home, when I feel like it! I'll let you know how many times I die. I'm not even sure when we're starting it actually!

Take care sweet babes! Tracy

He all! I just looked on YouTube for The Work, they have a sample workout available, he’s a little salty, basically what I’m thinking in my head! Lol.

Tracey, we would love to see “O”, we have seen Ka, their athleticism is a sight to behold.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Mary

Tracy, I msg you on FB, thanks! ETA I will be trying my own Stitch Fix next week. OMG if there is anyone who needs wardrobe rescue it is me! I am feeling hopeful.

Ronne, good job on decreasing the commute time. I know you are up for the fitness aspect of the commute walk, but the time back in your pocket to do with as you choose is nicer. Hey, remember when we walked along South Bank and you mentioned a talk show that filmed there and sometimes there were celebrities? Was it Graham Norton by any chance? I have since seen him on FB and he's hilarious.

Mary, yes I did love Hamilton! I am quite glad I did my research before hand though in order to follow the story better. We are going to see Mean Girls musical in March. I'm looking forward to that as well. Viva Las Vegas, you and hubs have fun when you go, woop! ETA Kathryn Ryan on Hamilton this was dd take on Hamilton as well. : D

Lisa, it seems like you have a good handle on planning your WDW trip. I'm taking my Dad to a park next Sunday. It will be a different experience (different priorities and opportunities) than usual but I'm looking forward to it.

Here are my workouts for the week IMAX 3, PHA3, a 10 mile group hike yesterday and today was a combo make up version of HC MM and 4DS HIS. IMAX 4 is on tap for Monday.
Mom is doing OK, I need to be patient. That's probably all I should say about that for now.

Hi all! Quick fly by, where does the time go? I’d like life to settle down but the excitement is building for the grand! Less than 2 weeks! Got in 1 outdoor bike ride and dh noticed I’m stronger! Hope to get another in tomorrow, meanwhile I’m Peloton! I’ve met my goal weight and stats but would like to lose a couple more to give me room to not fret. I probably need some new clothes but for now I think I have skinny clothes for warmer weather so I’m waiting out the cold weather in my baggy pants! Haha! I have skinny winter pants for wearing out, just nothing for bumming around the house which is most of the time these days! Not getting in too much quilting , machine problems, they are sending a new machine. So much time has been spent on that thing.

Jody, I got all my fast passes set up, so that’s done, now just to wait for the trip. Still have to do taxes, ugh, looks like we’ll owe around 7k so no hurry there! I’d have to brush up to understand Hamilton too.

Mary, another Vegas trip, you always have fun there.

Ronne, sound like you have the commute figured out and a bit of a workout to boot!

Tracy, Arizona sounds so warm! I’m not liking the cold as much as I used to. Dh grew up in it and likes it so he gets to walk suki!

Hello fitness friends~ I did step sync and a short version of SBSS UB. I quite like SS despite it not ticking off any major boxes. I'm wondering if my StitchFix will have something I can wear to Mean Girls. The soundtrack is really fun- I'm looking forward to it. On the internet clothing note- I bought some 3rd Love bras. I like them!

Lisa, how disappointing about the new quilt machine. LOL and taxes, too. I need to look at mine as well. Congrats on the skinny pants. It feels great to be at a happy weight, right? I'll try to catch up.

Tracy, The Work looks difficult! I wouldn't care about the language, but I can see where you wouldn't be able to do it at your job! So cool about babies at work and the willingness to be creative and accommodating to families. That being said, I think I'd feel like I was doing a half assed job of my work and my parenting, so for me I don't know how I'd do.

Mary, ordering grad gowns! My dd finished her proposal and has had some interviews/ inquisitions around it. She shared it with me. All I can say is school is hard- so much respect for all our kiddos getting this stuff done.

Ronne, I was thinking about travel. You've been more iconic places here in US than me and I just want to go back to London, lol. I was happy to hear that you've still got the ability to travel and holiday. I hope work and workouts are treating you well. I think working 5 days a week is hard to pull off.
Waves to all~~~~

Hi fit babes! I tried one of the workouts for the Prep which helps you get ready for the Work and I think I can jump into the Work. And the only swearing I heard was from the woman in the workout! There is an explicit version and clean version so you can choose between them. I'll let you know when I do some of those workouts.

Mary, the last time I went to Vegas, I saw Ka. SO GOOD!

I'm glad you loved Hamilton Jody! Great idea to research it ahead of time, I would need to do that too. Did you get your Stitch Fix? I get my second one soon and am looking forward to it--I don't know how many years I've been buying and wearing the same stuff over and over. I love getting out of my comfort zone! I've never heard of 3rd Love bras, internet company? I think I would likely do my job and parenting half-assed if I had an infant at work.

Lisa--I'm so excited for you! I visited my little grand nephew yesterday and I just love holding him, then giving him to his momma! Awesome job getting your weight to where you want it to be! I laughed when you said DH likes the cold so he gets to take Suki out, my DH wants me to come with him every time. It would be easier for me to say no if we didn't have 2. But he grew up here and I grew up in warmer climate like you!

Hi Ronne! I hope all is well at work and you are planning your next trip. Or taking one right now!

I did my own rotations in Feb, all Cathe. This past week I did some Plyo Hiit 1 and X10 Cardio blast, upper body work with X-Train, cardio and core with the Prep, then cardio from HIS and weights from Kickbox in 4DS. It was nice to change things up a bit. I sometimes feel like I do the same workouts often, even in Cathe's monthly rotations!

Have a happy and healthy week fit babes! Tracy

Hi everyone! I don’t know where I’ve been or what I’ve been doing?!

Anyway, Lisa that baby is coming soon ! I’m so excited for you! Holding that sweet little one and breathing in that love!

Tracey, how sweet about DH! He just loves being with you! I randomly choose workouts based on my mood that day. You do Cathe, I believe that you won’t have any trouble with The Work!

Jody, how are you? How is work? When does your DD graduate? DS is finishing his thesis, it’s due n Wednesday and he’s kind of flipping out!

Ronne, how are you? Work? I think it’s hard to work Monday through Friday, in the health care field it’s more broken up.

Hope everyone is well!
Mary

Hi all, I did PHA 1 yesterday. I opted for that one because shortest time and heaviest weights of the PHAs. Tomorrow supposed to be a TB weights but I have mom duty in morning and that tends to jack up my flow. We'll see, I have been doing really well at sticking to my plan. Disney with dad was good! BBL with personals...night!
Lisa, check out Etsy for Disney tanks and shirts!

Quick fly by! Of course I've been pelotoning and a couple of nice days for outdoor riding, including today. Well, the grand is here! She's so cute! Yes, I fell in instant love! It's a feeling you can't describe! She was born March 6th at 7.04pm, mom was in labor since 2am! 6lb 12 oz, 19". So tiny! Mine were 8 1/2 and 9 1/2!

Jody, glad Disney with dad was cool, it's nice you can have the different experiences at Disney. Hope this Corona virus doesn't impact much!

Whoops gotta run! So busy! Hellos to Mary, Ronne, and Tracy!

Hi all

OMG, I cannot believe how long it has been since I posted. I seriously do not know where the time has gone ...

Lisa - first up, massive congrats GRANDMA!!!! How lovely for you all - hope you get to see her loads and have lots of lovely time with the new addition to the family.

Jody - sounds like you are a workout machine at the moment. Go you! How's your new clothing delivery service, found anything nice yet? Hope the trip to the musical is good. And well done to DD - hope she finds something good. Where are you thinking of travelling to - any ideas? We're probably going low-key this year. A week in the UK and possibly a train trip to Europe in the autumn.

Mary - how are things?

Tracy - I've never heard of the Work. Sounds like you've been pretty consistent with the workouts as well recently. Some tough ones in that list. I think we're all getting our arses in gear in 2020 with workouts!!

So work has been really busy - I'm still keeping up with the four times a week workouts but after that I just don't want to go anywhere near my computer hence (why :p) the lack of posting.
We had a great trip to see DD at uni a couple of weeks ago. It made me miss her even more though ... She's doing well and has really settled in, enjoying the course and student life!!
We've also been to the theatre and cinema a bit recently. I went to see Dark Waters yesterday which was fantastic if completely depressing ...
Trying to fit planning a June (UK) holiday at the moment ...

I did PRS2 today and UB from STS TB. My left knee feels very iffy, so I limited my jumping and twisting and babied it thru the step workout. Last eve was the Mean Girls musical- quite good!

Ronne, I kept all the clothes from my stitch fix - a pair of skinny jeans and 4 tops. There is a 25% discount if you keep all the items and I got 50 bucks off on my first order (Thanks Tracy). I like the service so far, but to be sure, I wouldn't have chosen a single item on my own. I'm not sure if that is good? I mean, my basic uniform is jeans, tank or life is good T shirt and trainers. Next shipment at end of month, I'll let y'all know how goes. I don't blame you for avoiding the computer and/but also Good for you for getting your workouts in.

Mary, congrats to DS finishing his thesis! I'm not really sure when dd grads again?? LOL, She's hitting her milestones apparently. I know she took advantage of stress management /therapy though prior to getting her proposal submitted. I'm sending all the positive feels to our school kids!

Lisa, congrats on the precious new life!! I hope everyone has a smooth and peaceful transition! Life is gonna be different!

Tracy, lmk how you like your next stitchfix. I'm giving feedback on my purchases - I can only imagine how annoying it must be to "style" me! Nothing looks as good as being fit and good body weight though so I won't stop trying to take care of myself.

WAVES to ALL ~~~ and PS - thank you all for being here even though our lives are so busy. I think our check in helps me to stay on track. I appreciate the opportunity : D

Hi everyone!

LISA! Happy, happy day!!! So thrilled for all of you!

Ronne, you see all the meaningful movies and youngest DS and I saw Onward, the new Pixar movie! Glad the job is going well.

Hi Tracey!

Jody, is work bad? All 3 of the kids graduate in May. Today we got the news eldest DS has to move out of his dorm by Sunday because of the virus the school is closing until September. We don’t know about graduation for him yet. So, we a flying to Boston this weekend with every suitcase we own and can borrow! He’s quite heartbroken, I don’t blame him. He’s still getting his degree, however they are missing out on their last bit of time together.

Well, gotta organize stuff, will talk to you next week!
Mary

Mary I saw where they were closing that uni, that is so heartbreaking for those students/your son. Dd said they may close her campus as well. Is your work busy with the virus? We actually are a little slow! I know it won't last. It's a weird lull. Re covid19, Do you think we are over or under reacting? Hmm.
Safe travels and please avoid ultimate irony of getting sick on plane while removing child from threat.

Hi all

Mary - that's such a shame for DS. No change at DD's uni yet but she was supposed to b competing this weekend and all the sports teams have withdrawn from competitions. She's pretty bummed and they've also cancelled training for now.

Jody - glad to be of service ;) The clothes box sounds like it was a good thing. Every two months sounds quite frequent though. I probably buy clothes about twice a year!! Look after that knee as well.

Got my workouts in this week, including a couple of yoga sessions and some KCM. Did a really great slow yoga yesterday stretching out hips and lower back which really needed it. Not much planned this weekend (good), a chance to relax and catch up.
Going to look at tiles for our kitchen floor (the ongoing leak saga still in progress!!).

Hi ladies, just looked at my mileage this week, it was down! If it isn’t one thing it’s another with being busy. The grand daughter is so worth it though! The feeling is indescribable! I did do Peloton today and am wiped out! I got a shoutout from the instructor on the ride, no people was riding in the studio they’ve closed it down so I’m sure it feels weird for the instructors teaching just to a camera. My son’s fiancé medical school closed so she came back home to do the online classes. All our schools are closed now too. Grocery stores sold out of a lot of stuff, im sure it’s like this everywhere? Disney at end of April I’m worried will also get canceled. I’ll be the first to throw out an opinion, I think it’s best to be safe given what we’ve seen in other countries. I never liked shaking hands anyway! Once I even refused a handshake because I was sick and felt like I was crawling with germs and explained, guy was appreciative, that was years ago.

Let me try at personals
Ronne, how is it where you are? Do you wish you worked from home now? Leaks can be the worst! Well, besides the time we had a mouse that greeted me face in in the pantry. Once he scurried across the room to the gas fireplace and was lost, that’s when we finally found where the sucker was coming in, ack!

Jody, I fear you will be really busy soon, I pray I’m wrong. All our universities closed and public schools.

Mary, it is a shame about DS and school. We are all impacted some way and one day we will look back and say, remember when? I’m perturbed about having to possibly reschedule Disney (I think this will last longer than we think). I’d prefer just to get a refund , but in the grand scheme, it could be worse. My sister is working overtime (receptionist st dr office), and for more pay. I worry about her getting this with her health(and age). She already contracted the norovirus that someone came in with one day.

Stay healthy all!

Hi Fit Babes! So good to be here! I feel terrible for our college students having to go home and miss their graduation ceremonies. My boss was in tears that her twins were going to miss something that is so important to them.

Hi Mary! I hope you were able to bring DS home without any of you getting sick and you had enough suitcases!

Lisa, I fell head over heels when I met my second nephew after he was born. It shocked me! All I wanted to do was love him and keep him safe and I have never felt that way about a baby before. I am so happy for you Gramma!!! Hope your weather is inching towards spring. We've had snow the last 2 days!

Hi Ronne! I completely understand your exhaustion and not wanting to get on a computer after work. That happened to me too when I started my current job. Good for you getting those workouts in consistently! I get cranky if I go too long without a workout. I've done one workout of the Work so far--killed me dead I must say! Harder than Cathe--1 minute of power pushups (lifting your hands off the floor at the top of the pushup)? And 4 rounds of those? Uh, no thanks! I did my best through it but I don't even want to do those workouts 2 days in a row! As for the clothing fix, you can do it only twice a year if you want to.

Jody, that's awesome you kept all 5 pieces of your first fix! I only kept 3 because 2 didn't fit well. I only kept 1 one item the second time because I thought I wanted dresses then realized I really don't! I'm excited that someone is picking things out for me because I've been buying the same things for years and I am so sick of my clothes. How is your knee doing? I hope work has not gotten crazy for you!

DH and I were able to go to Arizona last week and attend a Steampunk festival--we had a ton of fun and we got back before things took a sharp turn regarding COVID-19. I have been crazy busy at work since and you wouldn't think that would happen! But I have been working to get everyone in my division the ability to telework. Many have that ability already but there has been a ton of things to think about with logistics, etc. 3 of our offices up north are on mandatory telework orders but we are only strongly encouraged to do so at this point. In addition, a resident at my dad's place got it and is in the hospital. The place is in lockdown now and Dad can't leave his apt. People have also gone into panic mode here too--for some reason, the celery was sold out among many other things when I did my regular shopping. The good thing is that I know this is temporary and it will get better.

So my workouts this week were very few. Walking the dogs has been my biggest activity since Thursday! My goal this weekend has been to patronize local business and sleep my exhaustion away. Thank you all for being here, I so appreciate each and every one of you.

Here's to good health for all of us and for our loved ones!! Tracy
