Strength in Numbers

Pam Great job on D11! It seems you got through Meso 1 really quickly. That’s so sad about Spanky not being liked by the other cats. Great job on AS and W&P abs! I think that is the toughest of the ab circuits and maybe all her abs. Great job on D12!

Cheryl Great job on D8 and your dog walk! I can’t understand how people dump animals either. At least he was taken to the shelter. Some people literally dump them in the middle of nowhere like they will survive on their own. That is frustrating about the sleepless night due to over hydrating. I have been there when I was up every hour or two to go the bathroom and got little sleep. That is a lot of intake in one day. Glad you listened to your body and are taking it easy.

So it’s back to the grindstone for me. Last week I did do my other two GGS workouts and a run in Portugal. The weekend was spent running some errands and doing chores except for Sunday which was my lazy day. We had beautiful weather Sunday in the 50s but it is supposed to dip back to the 30s by tomorrow. This morning I started week 2 of GGS. Things are still going pretty well with Benny. We did have two incidents where Gunny and Benny got into it. We were there quickly to separate them and no one got hurt. The first time was when they both wanted the antler bone. The second time was when Benny was on the couch and Gunny came over and stared at him. They get along fine except those two times. So the antler bones have been put away for now and we are managing Benny’s resource guarding of the couch and Gunny’s staring problem.

Have a great day!

Julie The kittens all like Spanky fine and Fritz usually tolerates him, but he sometimes has too much energy for him. Squeaky does not like him at all though. I agree that W&P is one of Cathe's toughest ab workouts. Great job on your GGS workouts and your run in Portugal last week. I'm glad to hear that things are going so well with Benny and the other dogs. The two incidents don't sound like they were too bad so hopefully things will continue to improve.

Saturday was supposed to be the cardio only premix of circuit blast and the MMA boxing heavy bag bonus. I don't have a heavy bag and it isn't much fun to do without it, so I did two rounds of the circuit blast cardio and the ab stacker abs. That was still only about an hour because circuit blast is so short. Sunday was my rest day and I was mostly lazy but ran some errands. This morning was rhythmic step and the abs from Body max 2. I like to use my active recovery week for some of my favorite step workouts. Then I spent about 2 hours cleaning my oven. It still isn't great, but it's a lot better than it was. Have a great day.

Pam

Julie Good job on all of your GGS workouts and your run in Portugal. I am glad that all of your dogs are getting along except for those couple of instances. Hopefully it will all improve and there won't be any more fights.

Pam Great work on MMA boxing circuit blast cardio and the the ab stacker abs and Rhythmic Step and the abs from Body Max 2. I hate cleaning the oven. I will probably need to clean ours too since something boiled over in it tonight.

Saturday was an insanely busy day with adoptions. We had people lined up before we even opened. It was like that until we closed. I was really tired and went to bed early but I was still exhausted when I woke up on Sunday. I did go to the farmers market and then we went out and visited my mom. Today I did STS disc 10 chest, shoulders and biceps. I am so glad that was the last one with the push ups. Then I got some laundry and housework done and did some meal prep. It looks like we will be getting some more snow so it may be shovel max for me tomorrow.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

Pam Great job on your double circuit blast plus ab stackers and RS plus BM abs! Oh that does not sound like fun cleaning your oven and for 2 hours but I am sure you are glad it is done.

Cheryl Wow that sounds super busy on Saturday. Hopefully you got a lot of adoptions completed. Great job on D10! Oh no I hope it isn't too bad with shovel max for you.

We had another incident between Gunny and Benny last night. DH was right there and got them pulled apart quickly it just breaks my heart that they can be fine one minute and then not the next. Again it was Gunny staring at Benny and then Benny growling. I'm hoping it gets better but as long as it doesn't get worse, I'll take it. I did do week 2 workout 2 from GGS Get Lean this morning.

Have a great day!

This morning I did a run in Morocco in the Stony Desert. It had a lot of incline changes and was pretty tough but that could also be because I got awful sleep last night. I'm already ready to go back to bed!

Have a great day!

Cheryl I hope our next adoption events are insanely busy, we could use a few of those! Great job on disc 10, isn't it a great feeling knowing you finished the last of the awful Meso 1 pushup fests?! I hope you don't get too much snow :(

Julie Sorry to hear that Gunny and Benny had another incident. Hopefully it will just take a little time for them to get use to each other. Great job on your GGS Get Lean workout and your run in Morocco!

We are having beautiful weather again so yesterday I went for a bike ride. Neither of the friends I usually ride with could go so I went by myself. It went by pretty quickly, but I ran over a squirrel :(. I was so upset - he darted out in front of me and I had no time to avoid him. I did put on buy brakes and only the front tire hit him. He ran off into the woods and I couldn't find him, so I'm hoping that he is ok. This morning I did cardio kicks and Step Boss bonus abs 2. Have a great day!

Pam

Julie Sorry that Gunner and Benny had another run in. Hopefully they just need to get to know each other better. Great job on week 2 of GGS and your run in Morocco with little sleep.

Pam Oh no poor squirrel. I am sure he is fine if he ran off into the woods. Good for you in going out riding on your own. Good work on Cardio Kicks and SB bonus abs 2.

Tuesday morning I did PRS #2. Well it snowed all day but it was just above freezing so it didn't stick at all. I was so happy that I didn't have to shovel any snow. This morning I did STS disc 11 Back and Triceps. Then I got the housework done and in the afternoon I took Zoey out for a long walk. It was nice to have someone to walk with.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

Pam Great job on your solo bike ride! That is some motivation to go on your own! Oh no! I would be so upset too. I hate running over already dead animals. I hope he is ok too. Great job on SB and SB abs 2! I think Gunny and Benny just need more time together. I am not overly worried about it at this point.

Cheryl Great job on PRS2! Oh happy day that you didn't have to shovel! Great job on STS 11 and your dog walk! I think every day they go without an incident helps. I have positive thoughts it will all be ok in no time.

We got hit with a load of snow last night. Must have gotten what Cheryl was supposed to get. The drive home took twice as long. I had another fitful night sleep and really wanted to stay in bed but I got up and did another Get Lean workout. The roads were not the best driving in since we still got snow all night but made to work only about 10 minutes later than normal.

Have a great day!

Cheryl Great job on PRS 2. That is great that the snow didn't stick and you didn't have to shovel! Great job on disc 11, your housework, and your walk.

Julie That is so stressful driving in the snow. Good for you getting up and doing your workout despite a fitful night. Hopefully your roads will be in better shape for your drive home.

This morning I did Mindy Mylreas awesome intervals. I hadn't done that one in ages so it was fun. Today we are supposed to have rain and some possible severe weather all day so sounds like a good day to stay in. Have a great day,

Pam

Julie Sorry that you got hit with all that snow. Good for you in getting up with a lousy sleep and doing a Get Lean workout. I hope the drive home is better than the drive in this morning.

Pam Great job on Mindy Mylreas Awesome Intervals. I hope you don't get the severe weather that they are predicting for you.

This morning was Step Sync, I really like that workout. Then I went to the SPCA. We got 7 kittens and 2 cats today. Things went smoothly and it didn't take me long to get everything done. It was nice to get home and it was still daylight.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

Pam Great job on MM Awesome Intervals! Sounds like they were awesome if you had fun! Hmm rainy days are the best for staying in. Hopefully you either had some good relaxing time or did some things around the house.

Cheryl Great job on SS! That is awesome things went smoothly and you got done quickly processing the new intakes. I have been noticing the daylight getting longer. I am loving it. 43 days till Spring!

I got a little better sleep last night. I think we are still figuring out positioning. Between me, DH, and 4 dogs totaling 200 pounds, we haven't quite figure out how we can all fit. But it also doesn't help they shift around throughout the night either. I did get a run in Morocco completed.

Have a great weekend!

Julie Glad that you got a better nights sleep. Oh wow you all sleep in the bed, I hope you have a king sized bed to fit all of you. Good job on your run in Morocco.

This morning was disc 12 Legs. I am so glad that this meso cycle is done. It is one of my least favorite ones. Then I went to work. It wasn't super busy but it was steady though we did have a line up of a few people when we opened.

Have a great weekend.

Cheryl

Cheryl Great job on D12! Glad you are done with all those pushups. I like the leg workouts from M1 but the upper body ones are so tough. Yes, we do have a king size bed. :D

Saturday I did another Get Lean workout and then DH and I took Benny to the vet for his initial checkup. He has an ulcer on his eye that they gave us 2 different drops for. One of them that we have to give 3 times a day dilates his eyes so he has 1 squinty eye right now. Other than that they said he was in good shape but had some arthritis in his back (not surprising given his age). Sunday was my rest and lazy day! This morning I started week 3 of Get Lean!

Have a great day!

Cheryl We didn't get the severe weather here but there were some tornadoes that touched down in the area. Luckily there were no deaths or injuries, just property damage. Great job on SS. I love that it is starting to stay light later!

Julie Oh boy that is a crowded bed! Great job on your run in Morocco.

Cheryl Great job on disc 12 and finishing Meso 1. I don't mind Meso 1 other than the pushups.

Julie Great job on your Get Lean workouts. I hope that Benny doesn't mind getting the drops in his eyes , it's no fun trying to get drops in when they don't like it.

Looks like I forgot to post on Friday, but I did Cathes greatest hits timesaver combo with no Athletic step and the abs from SJP. Saturday morning we had a funeral to go to so I didn't do a workout, and Sunday I didn't feel like doing one so I didn't. :) Yesterday Paulie had a meet and greet. I was worried about it because he is so shy, but he was so good with her and she fell in love with him. She's going to take him for a trial to make sure that he gets along with her kitten, but I will be surprised if he doesn't. He loves other cats and kittens and she said her kitten loves everybody and everything. She's going out of town this weekend so is taking him next Monday. I'm really hoping it works out because it's such a good fit for him. This morning was disc 13. I had forgotten how long those 60 second rests feel! Have a great day!

Pam

Julie Good work on your Get Lean workouts. Eye drops are no fun I hope he doesn't need to take them for too long. Glad to hear that he is in good shape other than the arthritis.

Pam Great job on Cathe's greatest hits timesaver combo and the abs from SJP. I hope everything works out for Paulie and he finds his furever home. good work on disc 13 too.

Saturday morning I was too tired to workout. Saturday was a busy day and we had a late adoption so we were late in leaving. They had come a ways to see one of our cats and we didn't want to ask them to come back the next day since it was a bit of a drive. Sunday I was still tired so I decided to not workout again. I did walk down to the Winter Market to pick up a few things though. Otherwise it was a lazy day. This is my recovery week between meso cycles so I decided to do yoga. I am really stiff and I need to get more flexible before dragon boat season starts or I will be in deep doo doo. You need to be flexible to paddle properly and reduce any injuries.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

Pam Great job on Cathe's Greatest Hits Timesaver plus SJP abs! So sorry about the funeral. Good for you for taking a weekend off. I hope everything works out for Paulie too. Great job on D13!

Cheryl Did they end up adopting the cat after coming all that way? Good for you for taking the weekend off with being so tired. Yoga sounds like the perfect active recovery.

Yesterday I was working from home because we had the bug guy coming to spray around 9. Well as soon as he left my internet went down and it took almost 2 hours to get back up and running. By that time I only had another hour before I had to leave to take Benny to the vet to have them check his eye to make sure the drops weren't causing any immediate issues. So not the normal work from home I would have hoped for. This morning I did another Get Lean workout.

Have a great day!

Cheryl That was nice of you to stay for the ate adoption. You are so smart to do yoga for active recovery. One of these days I need to make myself do that. You definitely don't want to be in deep doo doo for dragon boating :p

Julie Oh boy, you had quite the day on Monday. Is everything going ok with Bennys eye? Great job on your Get lean workout.

This morning was Hiit 30/30 and medicine ball abs. I think that is the easiest of the ab circuit workouts and I was ok with that :D. Have a great day!

Pam

Julie Yes they did end up adopting the cat, they really liked him and the cat really liked them. That is annoying to have the internet go down when you need to get some work done. I hope Benny's eye is getting better. Good job on your Get Lean workout.

Pam Great work on Hiit 30/30 and the med ball abs. I agree that that one is the easiest of the ab circuit workouts.

This morning was Rock'em Sock'em Kickbox. Then we had some errands to do.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

Pam Great job on 30/30 and MB abs! I think I remember that being the funnest of the ab circuits too (at least IMHO). Saturday when we took Benny to his regular checkup, they found an ulcer in his eye. We were given drops to give him and one of them dilates his eyes. All day Sunday, he was squinting and everytime we gave him the drops he rubbed his eye. DH was worried the drops were making things worse so he had me take him back to the vet. As I suspected, Benny is rubbing his eye because there is something in it (the drop) and squinting because his eye is dilated. I guess better safe than sorry but we were already having to come back this Friday to check him again.

Cheryl Great job on RSK! That is great they adopted the cat and they all seem to like each other. Benny seems to be getting used to the drops so that is good. We will find out more on Friday if he looks like he is healing. Fingers crossed.

This morning I did a run in Morocco. It was 8 minutes steady state with 1 minute recovery repeated 3 times. I am starting to wonder if I will ever enjoy steady state running for long durations. I much preferred the earlier workouts in this series that were interval based. I like running for maybe 1-2 minutes hard then resting. I can maybe do 4 minutes but lately getting up into these 8 minute stretches makes me go, ok you can do this just 4 minutes two times or 2 minutes 4 times then you get a recovery.

Have a great day!

Cheryl Great job on RSK and your errands!

Julie Oh that is funny about Bennys eye and your DH worrying. I understand that though, I have gotten to be a big worry wart about any issues with the cats. I'm glad that everything was going ok though Great job on your run in Morocco. I'm with you that I just don't enjoy steady state runs. It feels so monotonous to me. I am not one of those people that can think about something else, I spend the whole time thinking about the running and how boring it is :p

This morning for me was disc 14 legs. I was expecting back and biceps but forgot that things get changed up in Meso 2. It went by so fast, I really like the trusts. The calf raises at the end were a little excessive though! Spanky, the foster that I have had for 3 years has a meet and greet tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for him, it sounds like it could be a good fit. It's a single guy who lost his black cat of 12 years recently so he is looking for another black cat. He sounds like he is ok with the fact that he is shy so I'm hopeful it will work out! Have a great day!
