Strength in Numbers

Julie Good job on Live Barbell Upper Body. It is hard to get the right weight when you are not familiar with the workout. I am happy that Maggie wasn't sore from her walk.

Pam Good work on Step Blast and SJP abs. You are getting nice hot weather. So when will you be able to get back to skiing? It is still cold and rainy here and will be through the weekend but next week is looking better.

Janie Way to go on Total Body Trisets Upper Body.

I did PRS #2 one of my favorites. Then I got some housework done and then a bit of running around.

Cheryl

Last night was Live Cross Train Lower Body. It was a fast workout for being 55 minutes long. It really was a hodge podge of exercises. There was a short cardio segment, interval blasts, weights, non-weighted, barre, and stability ball abs. I actually did the abs and did all 8 pikes (some not as pretty as others). Maggie started her first dose of chemo pills this morning. Kind of scary that they told us to use gloves to give them to her. I’m glad DH is home today and can watch how she does with them.

Pam Great job on Step Blast and SJP abs! Although I think you should have thrown some turtle spins in just for fun. Wow, 80 degrees is awesome. We are supposed to be in the mid-50s this weekend so I am a little jealous. Cathe is really good about telling you the weight she is using, sort of. For barbell exercises she says the plate size so 1 large and 1 small on each end. You have to know that the bar weighs 5 pounds, the large plate is 10, the medium is 5 and the small is 2.5.

Janie Great job on TBT UB! That is such a toughie but a goodie. All those pushups are a doozie even with any modifications done.

Cheryl Great job on PRS2! It’s always nice to do one of your favorites. That is one of the problems with the live workouts not knowing what weight is appropriate. I guess though it is similar to doing one of the DVDs for the first time though.

Have a great day!

Cheryl We often start skiing around this time of year with a wet suit, but since we are going to be gone every weekend in April I don't think we will get to ski until May this year. The water should be warm by then at least! Great job on PRS #2 and your housework and errands. Always nice to do a favorite!

Julie Great job on CRLB, it sounds like it had a little bit of everything. I think these live workouts might just get you into ab workouts!! Oh my gosh, that is very scary that you have to wear gloves to give Maggie her pills, wow! I hope that she does well with it!! It's very good that your DH is home today. I SHOULD have thrown in some turtle spins, just for fun. Maybe I will do some sometime today :D.

This morning was disc 11(?) back and triceps. I really am not a fan of pullups, even the weenie ones that I do! Happy Friday everyone, have a great weekend and Easter!

Pam

Julie Great job on Cross Train Lower Body. It is scary that you need to use gloves to give the injections to her. I hope she does well on them.

Pam May is when everything seems to be warming up. Good work on disc 11 back and triceps. I struggle with the pullups too. I can never do as many as Cathe and the gang.

Today was disc 24 back and biceps and the last workout in meso 2. I hope everyone has a great Easter..

Cheryl

Cheryl Great job on disc 24 and finishing meso 2! I like active recovery weeks, other than the stress of deciding what the do!

CCC was on my calendar this morning, but I have done it a lot lately so I did Intensity and ICY Core 2. Cheryl inspired me to do intensity the other day! I have spent the rest of the day doing taxes for my dad's trust and my mother. Oh joy. The good news is it looks like she is getting a big refund, I know that will make her happy! Have a great day!

Pam

Today was Turbo Barre.

Cheryl, Great job on PRS 2 and housework and a bit of running around.

Julie, Great job on Live CTLB. I love hodge podge exercises. You are getting stronger for sure being able to do pikes. Wow, impressive. Keep us posted on Maggies chemo pills. Poor baby.

Pam,Great job on disc 11, back and triceps. You too have a great Easter weekend.

Cheryl, Great job on disc 24 back and biceps. Congratulations finishing meso 2. Have a great Easter.

Pam, Great job on Intensity and ICY Core 2. Also for doing things you need to get done...

Take care everyone, enjoy Easter,

Janie

Another weekend that flew by. Saturday I did Live High Reps Total Body. It was a good workout and flew by. She spent more time on back than she usually does which I loved but it seemed to have less leg work than I would have preferred. It was almost an upper body workout with some leg work sprinkled in. After that, DH and I went to my parents for an Easter get together. I ate way too much but luckily did not have any side effects from stuffing myself. Sunday I did Live Crush It Low Impact and Soaker Cycle. Both were good workouts. Crush It Low Impact started out easy and worked up in intensity which was nice. Soaker Cycle had a lot of heavy resistance work in it.

Pam Great job on disc 11! Pullups are so hard. Even modified pullups are hard. The vet said the gloves are so that we don’t get exposed to the chemo and then become immune to it in case we ever need it. Still weird in my mind because the pills are coated so I would think we should be ok. Great job on Intensity plus Icy Core 2. Well the live workouts will probably get me to do the ab work. It might take a while for me to start really enjoying it.

Cheryl Great job on disc 24! The chemo is in pill form. I don’t think I could give her shots. I would be too scared about messing it up.

Janie Great job on TB! She did ok over the weekend with her one dose of chemo pills. She took her second dose today so we will see how she does.

Have a great day!

Janie Great job on Turbo Barre! I haven't done that one in forever!

Julie Great job on High Reps Total Body, Crush it LI nad Soaker Cycle! I was thinking that was a spin workout until you said that there was a lot of heavy resistance work in it.... You know it is powerful stuff that Maggie is getting if you guys have to wear gloves. I'm glad to hear that she did ok with it.

Yesterday was my rest day. My sister made brunch at my mom's house for Easter and then I went to REI to get some things for Vietnam. After that it was home to make some updates on my mom taxes and suddenly the day was over! This morning was disc 34 chest and back. I felt strong so that made my happy! I had no problem doing all of the reps with the weight on my card. I thank Janie for that Versa grip suggestion everytime I have those heavy deadlifts! They are a life saver. Happy Monday!

Pam

Pam You are welcome for the inspiration to do Intensity :D. Such fun doing taxes but it is always nice to get a nice big refund.

Janie Good work on Turbo Barre. I haven't done that one in a while.

Julie Way to go on Live High Reps Total Body, Live Crush It Low Impact and Soaker Cycle. I am glad that you didn't have any side effects with eating a lot at Easter dinner. I have to be careful with not overdoing it too. I think I would have a had time giving my guys a needle too. Pills are hard enough but I think a needle would be worse.

Pam Wow Vietnam is coming up fast. Good work on disc 34 chest and back and feeling strong. I don't have the versa grip but I have something similar and it does really help with deadlifts and barbell rows.

So again I can't remember what workout I did on Saturday  but it was some kind of cardio, Sunday I had a hard time getting going so I took it as my day off and today I did Supercuts. It was so nice here today and it is suppose to last through the week. Finally some really nice weather. We will probably make sure we get a lot of outside work done to take advantage of it.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

IMAX3! Need I say more?

Cheryl, Great job on cardio and your day off and Supercuts. Us to with nice weather this week. Ahwwwwwwwwwwww.

Pam, Glad you had a rest day. I know how it goes when the day goes by so quickly. Ugh... Great job on disc 34 chest and back. Glad you took my versa grip suggestion, it's truly a life safer and it works!

Julie, Great job on HRTB. Family and Easter does go together. I ate to much too. Ugh... And for doing Live Crush It Low Impact and Soaker Cycle. Keep me posted on how she does with those pills. Still can't belive you have to wear gloves with those chemo meds. Wow!

Take care everyone,

Janie

Last night was Live Legs w/Weights and Ball! It has to be my favorite yet; I would give it 6 out 5 stars! It was 3 trisets with weights and then some floorwork with the ball. I’m probably partial to loving this one because trisets are my favorite way to work out my legs. It was funny because Cathe messed up on the last round of the first triset. She thought we were done after the first two exercises so started to explain the next triset. The class had to remind her that she still had deadlifts to do. She was really funny in this one with messing up a lot. She kept picking up only one weight for steps up and then having to stop and get the other one saying “I don’t know why I keep wanting to make this easier.” The ball work had 4 sets of 16 rollins. That was kind of tortuous after the weights section.

Pam Yum, brunch sounds good! Glad you were able to spend some time with your family for Easter. Great job on disc 34! I love my Versa Gripps for heavy deadlifts. Oh yes, Soaker Cycle was a spin workout but she really made you turn the resistance knob a lot and kept it up high for most of the workout.

Cheryl Great job on your mystery workout on Saturday! That is great to listen to your body and take a day off when you are having a tough time getting going. Great job on Supercuts! That one has to be one of my all-time favorites. So much variety and fun too! How awesome to have some great weather. Enjoy it and I hope it lasts for you!

Janie Great job on Imax 3! Oh that one is tough. You do not need to say more. I totally hear you. Will definitely keep you posted on how Maggie does. This morning she was drooling like crazy when it was time to get up and then started gagging. Not sure if it was a fluke or she was getting nauseous from the pills yesterday. We will have to keep an eye on her.

Have a great day!

Cheryl Well, my mother is getting the big tax refund, we always have to pay o_O Great job on whatever workout you did on Saturday, I'm sure you crushed it :D Great job with Supercuts too. I'm glad to hear you are getting some nice weather, enjoy it!

Janie Whew IMAX 3!! Great job! You are right, no need to say more!

Julie Great job on LL w W&B! Sounds like it was really a lot of fun! That is funny that Cathe kept messing up too. Four sets of 16 rollins would be torturous even if it wasn't after a heavy weight section. Yikes! Brunch was good, but I ate too much too. I guess that is what we do on holidays!

This morning was supposed to be 40/20 and pilates abs. I subbed 40/20 for DWP last week though, so I tried my new 22 minute hard corps and one of the ab workouts from it. I caved and bought it because Beachbody was doing free shipping, but I think I am going to return it. It is a like like insanity - no warm up, no cool down or stretch, and just a bunch of high rep stuff. I prefer Cathe's workouts and don't see myself ever deciding to reach for these. I figured it was worth a try at least. Have a great day!

Pam

Yesterday afternoon the trisets started kicking in. I had DOMS all over my legs and in my glutes. I haven’t had glute DOMS in forever so that was really crazy. So glad last night was yoga/stretch night. I did Yoga Relax and then I used a knobby tiger tail thing to try to massage my poor thighs and glutes. It was definitely tough going to the bathroom. I still have some tightness and soreness this morning. I think I will need to get up and walk around as much as possible at work today.

Pam Great job on Hard Corps and abs! That’s a bummer that you didn’t enjoy it. I don’t get the trend with most other instructors to skip the warm up and cool down or to do a few jumping jacks and say alright you are warmed up now. Really? Maybe we just are too spoiled by Cathe.

Have a great day!

Julie Oh no, sorry to hear that you are hurting. DOMs are such a touchy thing, it's nice to have a little to know that your efforts are doing something, but not so nice when you can hardly walk! I hope your legs and glutes are feeling better today. Great job on YR and rolling out those DOMS! I think we are very spoiled by Cathe. There are a few other workouts that I have that I really like, but as far as consistently good workouts, no one beats Cathe.

This morning was disc 7(?) legs. Those meso 1 leg workouts just fly by for me because you just move from one thing to the next. I am already feeling it in my glutes, so hopefully I won't be failing the toilet test tomorrow. I woke up with a sore throat this morning so am hoping that it isn't the start of a cold. It's peak allergy season, so it could just be extra heavy pollen giving me grief. Fingers crossed! Have a great day!

Pam

Today was Slow & Heavy Series Triceps/Biceps, modified of course.

Pam, Great job on disc ? Legs. Take cinnamon oil and honey for you sore throat and or cold/allergy coming on. Stay well.

Julie, Congrats on the DOM's, I know... Great job on yoga/stretch night. A knobby tiger tail. Will have to look that one up. LOL But I think I get the idea.

Pam, Great job on 22 min. hard corps and an ab workout from it. Too bad they don't do warm ups and cool downs. Don't blame you for returning it.

Julie, Great job on Live Legs w/Weights and Ball. I love ball workouts, sounds like fun too. Cathy? Messing up? So fun!

Take care everyone,

Janie[/QUOTE]

Janie Way to go on IMAX 3 and no you don't need to say more ;).

Julie Good job on Live Legs w/weights and ball. I love doing trisets for my legs too. Too funny that Cathe messed up.

Pam Good work on your new workout but sorry that you didn't like it. I don't understand why instructors don't do warm ups or stretches either.

Julie I hope your legs are feeling better now. Nice that Yoga Relax was on tap to try to stretch those poor muscles.

Pam Good job on disc 7 legs. I hope your sore throat was nothing to worry about. I drink lemon with ginger, honey and ACV every morning and that has really helped me with colds and sore throats.

Janie Good work on S&H Tris and Bis.

So yesterday I did 30/30 and NE abs. Then we power washed the sidewalk and patios in front and in back of our place. Then we talked with a lot of our neighbours because we had our AGM for our strata. We need new windows that are going to cost us a lot of money and so that was on the agenda for last night. The meeting went until 9:30 so I didn't get a chance to post last night. On the bright side we will be getting new windows installed which is much needed. This morning I did Cardio Supersets then I went and got groceries. Since it was so nice out I decided to then vacuum out the car and wash it. After that some of our neighbours came over and we sat on the patio drinking beer. Weird it is only the end of March but we already have our summer routine going.....oh and did I mention that is was so nice out that I could wear a T shirt and shorts?

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Last night my legs were still sore. I started Live Metabolic Circuit Blast. By the end of the warm up my right inner thigh was super tight. I paused the workout and rolled it out a little and then finished the workout. It was a great workout but my thigh was still giving me troubles through the whole thing. I think it would have been a better workout if I hadn’t had my thigh issues. I did massage it some more after my shower and put the heating pad on it for a while. It seems to be doing much better this morning so hopefully I avoided any major injury.

Pam Great job on disc 7! I do remember those meso 1 leg workouts flying by. Hope you don’t get major DOMS like I did. I like having them but like you said just a little so I know I did something but not so much that I can’t walk or workout the next day comfortably. I hope you are not getting a cold. I had a scratchy throat on Monday but I think it was just allergy related as well. Either that or because our weather keeps swinging 20 degrees in either direction every couple of days.

Janie Great job on SH Bis & Tris! With these Live workouts, you get to see more of Cathe’s personality. She is quite quirky and funny.

Cheryl Great job on 30/30 and NE abs! Sounds like you had a very busy day. I’m not sure I know what AGM or strata means but I do understand windows are expensive. DH and I had an estimate last year and I almost laughed the guy out of the door. Great job on Cardio Supersets! Wow I am so jealous of your weather. We are supposed to get to the upper 60s today but it will be rainy and overcast all day. Back to the 50s and 40s for the weekend.

Have a great day!

Today was Slow & Heavy Legs & Shoulders. Ouch, my legs. I already feel them. LOL

Cheryl, Great job on 30/30 and NE abs yesterday. And all the work with the power wash and visiting with neighbors. And for doing this mornings Cardio Supersets and shopping, cleaning the car and beer drinking with neighbors. Nice. T shirt and shorts already? I'm jealous.

Julie, Great job with Live Metabolic Circuit Blast. It might have started off a bit sore, but you managed to finish it. Good for you. Hop your thigh is not injured too. Keep us posted.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Julie Way to go on Live Metabolic Circuit Blast. I hope that your thigh is doing better. AGM stands for Annual General Meeting and a strata means that we own the building (townhouse) but not the land. We pay monthly strata fees which is for the maintenance of the property throughout the year but once a year all the owners go to a meeting to discuss the operating budget etc. Windows are not cheap are they. Our weather has been great this week but it looks like we will be back to rain again by Sunday.

Janie Good job on S&H Legs and Shoulders. I like the slow and heavy series.

This morning was Rockout Knockout. Then I did some housework and some more work outside. Now I am pooped. I should sleep well tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Last night was Lower Body Burn. I was happy my thighs held up and no injury from the previous night. It was a fast workout for 50 minutes but probably not one of my favorites. It was more cardio endurance than heavier weights. There was some floor work at the end that burned my booty though. So happy it is the weekend!

Janie Great job on S&H L&S! Slow and heavy is tough because you tire so easily. Happy birthday! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Cheryl Great job on RK! Hope you got the good night’s sleep you were looking forward too. We have strata’s here but I think we tend to just call them condo or homeowners associations. That stinks about the rain. Hopefully the sun will be shining again soon.

Have a great day!
