Strength in Numbers

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Now it is back to the grind for 5 days. I did Get Glutes on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, DH and I also started converting one of the spare bedrooms into a weight room. We hauled 100 pound horsemats from the garage into the bedroom to cover the floor. I was actually surprised at how well I did helping DH carry them and how I wasn't really that sore the next day.

Cheryl I hope your knee is doing better and you were able to get your computer fixed.

Julie Oh no, what's going on with work being so busy?! I hope that it doesn't last too much longer. Great job on GG Thursday night. 48 degress for May 1st is crazy! We had a lot of rain and cooler weather last week but the weekend was gorgeous. At least the part that I was home for. I think you have converted me to the DT premix of AB from now on too. It makes it go faster when you don't repeat the segments immediately. I also find that I am usually able to do all of the straddle jacks and all of the zombie drags when I do it that way and I usually can't when I do it the original version.

Cheryl Why did your power go out? So sorry that you have been having so much trouble with your knee, do you think you should have a Doctor look at it? Uh oh on the laptop going belly up. Sorry to hear about that! I hate posting from my Ipad, it's a lot harder and I always end up hitting the wrong keys. That is usually when I get interesting auto spelling changes as well.

Janie Great job on disc 3, how were your legs doing after that?! I remember those meso 1 leg workouts being killers!

Julie Great job on GG on Saturday and Sunday and your spare bedroom weight room conversion. It sounds like you got a weight workout in hauling the mats over there!

I ended up not doing a workout on Saturday morning. I had to get packed for my trip and I was feeling bummed that I had to leave on such a gorgeous day. What a whiner huh, complaining that I had to come to Rome :rolleyes: We went out for lunch where we could sit outside and then went to Carl's girlfriends house to take some pictures before they left for their prom. They were so cute! My flights to Rome were pretty smooth and when I got here it was a beautiful day in Rome too. My colleague wasn't arriving until late so I went out and walked around a little and then had a pizza at an outdoor cafe. It was still early when I got back to the hotel and I wanted to try to stay up until at least 9 to get adjusted to the time so I had a nice glass of Italian red wine in the hotel bar. I was proud of myself because I was able to stay up until about 9:15. My room is the size of a matchbox and there is no hotel gym, so my workouts this week will just be walking around in the evenings and to and from the subway stop in the morning and evening. Julie, Great job on Get Glutes on Sat and Sun. Oh how fun and wonderful converting a bedroom into a weight room. Horsemats? I'll look up them up. LOL

Pam, After doing disc 3 legs, my legs were fried. I had cramps in them (especially my toes for some reason) for TWO Days! LOL Yea, you had to complain about going to Rome. LOL You travel all the time, it's OK. LOL Sounds like Prom night out was successful. So cute when the kids are all dressed up. How wonderful to be in Rome. My imagination of it is sooooo beautiful. Pizza cafe, wine, room service too. Great job walking around to get some workout in.

The mats I am using are horse stall mats. They are super thick and meant to withstand a 1000 pound horse standing on it. The room we are converting has ceramic tile flooring so I wanted to make sure it was completely protected. I researched a lot and most people who build their own home gyms buy horse stall mats because they are cheaper than buying weight room gym flooring and are actually better quality. We are not quite done but once we are I will try to post some pictures.

Rolly and I walked the beach over an hour today. Such beautiful weather! Gave a little serenade at the Art Assoc. group today. Was rough around the edges, but I did play them "Pipeline". It was exciting!

Julie, Aw, thank you for the pics of the horse stall mats. They are fantastic! Can't wait to see the pictures.

Yesterday had to go back to Shelton for teeth cleaning. I most certainly need to go every 4 months. Plague builds up on my teeth so readily. Can't figure that out. Anyhoo, did some shopping and looked for things around the house to take back with me to the Beach House. Before I knew it, I had a full car load. Jeesh! Later When I returned to the BH, did the mountain climber for 30 min. for my cardio.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes. Yes! On to month 8!

Last night I did my last workout of month 7 of Get Glutes. Saturday I am starting month 8 and then doing the Race for the Cure with DH. His mom passed away due to breast cancer 20 years ago so this is pretty emotional time for him. We are going to walk with his sister and brother and their families. Hopefully it will be nice weather.

Janie Great job on the mountain climber and disc 2 and more mountain climbing! Going to the dentist is not fun but it is so very important. Good for you for going and recognizing you need to go a little mroe often.

It was beautiful today sunny and in the low 50's. Hard gardening, STS disc 3, legs and walking the beach with Rolly for 30 min. I think I over did it because I'm getting DOM's already! LOL

Julie, Great job on the last workout of month 7 Get Glutes. Yea! I'm sure you are so ready for month 8. Wow and doing the Race For The Cure as well. How neat to do it with DH. Even though it's emotional for DH, do have a good time together with him and his family. I can see you looking back at this and having a wonderful memory.;)

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA. I haven't got my laptop fixed I think it is toast so I have my parents old laptop and I have been trying to get it set up. Janie and Julie you have both been doing well with your workouts. Pam I hope you had a good time in Rome. I had a hard time trying to get a workout in, work has been busy and I have been really tired by the time I get home. Last Monday I did XTrain Chest, Shoulders and Back and then I didn't get another workout in until Saturday. I did X53 and then today was yoga. Today we had my parents and brother over for a BBQ for Mother's Day.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Saturday I started month 8 of Get Glutes and then DH and I walked the 1 mile in the Race for the Cure. The weather was beautiful. After that, we had brunch with my family and then just hung out until supper time when we grilled out. Sunday I did the second workout of month 8 Get Glutes and then was extremely lazy the rest of the day. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Janie Great job on disc 3, gardening, and walking on the beach! I hope you were able to get over the DOMS and walk the next day!

Cheryl Bummer about your laptop but that is nice that your parents had an old one they could give you. Good job getting n XT CSB on Monday, X53 on Saturday, and yoga on Sunday. You do really good on getting in the workouts when you can.

Janie Great job on STS disc 1! It does make a big difference having all of the right equipment, doesn't it?! O my, cramps in your toes?! You must have been really working hard and clenching them. Good for you!. It's not just in your imagination, Rome is really really beautiful in person. There is something gorgeous to see around every turn there. It really is an amazing place.

Great job on your long walk on the beach, whatever day that was. So cool that you serenaded the Art Assoc group, I bet they really enjoyed it.

Julie Great job on GG. Does this make a month that you have been going without cardio? Are you seeing a difference (besides missing cardio? ;) )

Janie Oh ick, I hate going to the dentist. That is just no fun at all when they are picking and scraping at your teeth like that.Too funny that you ended up with a whole car load of stuff to take back to the beach. I can see that happening....Great jo on your mountain climber workout!

Julie Great job on GG month 8 workouts 1 ad 2 and the race for the cure. I'm so glad that the weather cooperated for you.

It was quite the busy weekend. I had a 7 am flight from Rome on Saturday morning so was up to head for the airport early. I was really nervous about missing the connection in London because the flight was over 30 minutes late getting in and you can't do anything quickly at Heathrow airport. I ended up getting to the next gate just in time to get on the plane. I was having 23 people for dinner on Saturday night, so my DH might have been a little panicked if I missed the flight. It was Eric's graduation from college on Sunday so we had a little graduation party for him. I got home from the airport, took a shower, changed and went and picked up the cake and the food. By the time I got back with everything and got it set up people started arriving. It turned out to be a good way to stay up on the first day back though. Most people stayed until about 10 and I went to bed without even cleaning up. Sunday was graduation, so we went to that and then went out for lunch. Then my DH had to fly to Florida last night, so his mother and I dropped him at the airport and then went to my SILs house for the evening. I was beat last night but went to bed and could not get to sleep :mad: Then I woke up at 4:30 this morning. I stopped trying to fight it around 5 and got up and did Athletic Training. It was tough after the week off and the jet lag setting in. I'm thinking I will sleep really well tonight! Happy Monday!

Cheryl, Working hard and doing exercise is hard. Great job on XTrain Chest, Shoulders and Back and then on Sat. doing X53 and for today's yoga. Sounds like you enjoyed today's BBQ with family.

Julie, Great job on starting month 8 of Get Glutes and walking a mile in the Race for the Cure. Nice to visit family isn't it? Also for Sun. doing the 2nd workout Get Glutes.

Pam, Glad you made it to your gate just in time. Don't you just hate that when things like that happen? Aww having a party for your son's graduation is such a must. Wow, You made it, but just barely for the party. I don't blame you for not cleaning up. I can only imagine how exhausted you must have been. You poor thing. Seems there is always someone flying somewhere a lot in your family. Hope your honey has a good trip in Florida. EWWW, insomnia always pick the wrong time to visit. Great job on doing Athletic Training. Have a restful sleep tonight.

Janie Great job on disc 4!!! You are really making me think about doing another STS rotation. Yes, we do seem to always be flying somewhere :rolleyes: The good news is my DH is already home. He was supposed to come home tomorrow but he said he figured out he didn't need to be there for the meetings today so he came home this morning.

I slept much better last night. I woke up at 4 again, but was able to go back to sleep until my alarm went off at 5:30. Yesterday when I got home I did weights and plates abs and this morning was AOLIH. I haven't done the whole thing too often because I usually do it when I'm traveling but I like the step part a lot. I did the step and disc sections twice to make it longer. Have a great day!

Another super busy week. Quick post today since I have 8 hours of meetings I have to get to. I did Get Glutes Month 8 Workout 3 last night. It started with heavy deadlifts. I pulled 200 lbs.!! So excited that I finally got to 1.5 x my bodyweight on deadlifts. Now to work on doing my bw in squats.

Pam Wow you had a busy weekend when you got back from Rome! Great job on getting in AT after all that. Great job on WP abs and AOLIH! I do really miss cardio especially when I see you gals doing some of my favorites. I think the biggest result or thing I have noticed from giving up cardio is my strength increasing. I have not seen any physical changes but am so impressed with how much my strength I am gaining, I am going to stick with no cardio for a little while longer.

Julie Great job on GG. WOW 200 lbs is amazing!!!!! Great great job! That is awesome that your strength is increasing so much. I think that could really help my water skiing if I were able to increase my upper body strength.

This morning for me was BB Legs and glutes. I like that one because I can do everything without screaming :rolleyes: That probably means that it's too easy! Have a great day!

OK so I was just about finished with my post and I lost it :mad:. So condensed version now. Pam glad you are back, you are amazing to have dinner for 23 people right after you get back from your trip. Julie awesome that you can deadlift 200 lbs. Janie you are doing well with STS.

So the weather here has been really nice so it has been hard to sit inside on a computer. Monday I didn't get a workout in but Tuesday I did Burn Sets Chest Back and Shoulders and today I did Knockout Rockout timesaver premix.
