Strength in Numbers

I did a shorter premix of Xtrain's Bi & Tri plus core {36min} then added on 35min of boxing from Hardstrikes.

Thanks for the good wishes about Hubby's job.

Cheryl, let me assure you there were plently of modifications!

Pam, glad you are back!

Julie, Hubby was on nights for a while so I mostly was on nights also. I would get up earlier than him however.

Cheryl At first I was mad that the time change happened the same weekend that I was coming back from the west coast, but then I decided it was a good thing to only deal with one round of time change rather than 2. I hope you are feeling better and getting adjusted. I'm still having a hard time getting up in the morning, but I think it's getting better (I hope!)

Penguin Great job on your Bis/Tris/Core/hardstrikes premix! It sounds like you got a great custom workout!

This morning I did XTrain disc 2 bis/tris and then added in the Plyo+firewalker tabata combo from Crossfire. It was fun, that bi/tri workout just flew by. I really need to start looking at rotations and pick out a new one as I'm still just doing whatever I feel like right now. I hope everyone has a great day, come on weekend!

Pam

This morning I really wanted to sleep in but I got up and did the second workout on Yoga Foundations (with Travis Eliot). I liked this one much better than the first workout. This one had a few moves I have never done before, plow and shoulder stand. The first workout had too much standing back bends which tend to hurt my lower back.

Pam Great job on doing your workouts while in Vegas. You are such a good girl to keep them up. Wow you had a busy home coming weekend. 70s sounds so nice. We had snow again last night but I doubt it will stick around long. Great job on bis/tris + adding on the plyo and firewalker tabatas from CF!

Cheryl I’m sorry are having trouble with adjusting to the time change. I was thinking about you the last several days because I know how it affects you. I think it is a good idea to wait until your body adjusts before tackling a workout. You’ll get there.

Penguin Great job on Bis/Tris + core and HS boxing! That sounds like a great combo. I like doing strength first when I combine them like that. I’ve always thought the original CTX series and 4DS series would be so much better done that way.

Have a great day!

Had a rest day because I'm sore from head to toe. My hands hurt because I've been knitting so much so I checked out some books from the library and as a result sat for most of the day.

Julie, I had actually intended to do Hardstrikes yesterday but I couldn't FIND my copy! So I settled on B/T instead. When I went to get my notebook to write down my weights I found my HS copy underneath and added on. I think it was a good mix also but maybe I should have saved the cardio for today. I did like doing the weights first.

Pam, I tend to go with 'generic' rotations that I can pick and choose as opposed to specific workouts. I seem to be able to stick to it better that way.

My eating has not been good. I don't know why I sabotage this! Thank God Tomorrow in another day to start fresh. Today I did Ride and I must say had to modify, but did keep moving. What a sweaty mess! Love it.

Pam, Great job on XTrain disc 2 bis/tris and the addition of Plyo and firewalker tabata combo. Wow, now that is a terrific workout. Must of had some energy to spare.

Julie, Great job on the 2nd workout on Yoga foundations. I'm going on line to see it. Maybe I can find a You Tube for it. Sounds wonderful. I love shoulder stands.

Penquin, Hope you enjoyed your much needed rest today. Sounds heavenly.

Take care,

Janie

Julie Great job on getting up and doing Yoga Foundations when you just wanted to sleep in. The time change is really making it touch to get out of bed this week! I'm glad you liked this workout better than the first one. I don't think I could even do a standing back bend anymore!

Penguin I'm not too surprised that you were sore yesterday after that workout you did the day before. I hope that you enjoyed your day of reading! I'm the opposite, I like to have a rotation on my calendar and have it tell me exactly what workout to do each day. If I don't do that, then I tend to stand there looking at my dvds hemming and hawing over what I should do and wasting a bunch of time deciding. The rotations also force me to do workouts that I wouldn't normally choose sometimes.

Janie Sorry to hear that eating has not been good :( You;ll get back on the bandwagon though, I have no doubt Great job doing Ride and getting to be a sweaty mess. I've been wondering about Joey's brother - how is he doing? Are you still planning a trip to Michigan?
Ha, I had NO energy to spare by the time I was done with my workout ;)

This morning was XTrain cardio leg blast and core 2. I'm kind've doing the Xtrain this this week until I figure out what I'm going to do next. Have a great day everyone, is it Friday yet????

Pam

This morning I did Cardio Supersets. I haven’t done that one in a while. It was nice level of intensity for my pseudo-recovery week.

Penguin Hope you enjoyed your rest day full of reading. What books are reading right now? I got the Hunger Games trilogy on my kindle apps and started that (I know I am behind the times here). I have mainly been reading a lot of nutrition type books lately but saw the 3 Hunger Games books for $5 and couldn’t pass it up.

Janie Great job on Ride! Don’t beat yourself up over what you eat. You are right to focus on every day being a new day to start fresh. It is so hard to find that perfect balance of eating right for your body’s energy level and wellbeing as well as your mind’s emotional comfort and wellbeing. I am still working on that myself. Some days are better than others. Here is a link to Travis Eliot’s website for Yoga Foundations with clips of each of the workouts. I actually ordered the DVD through Amazon though not off his site.

Pam Great job on CLB + core 2! Well the standing backbend isn’t like what a gymnast would do. It is just leaning back while standing and having your arms overhead. If I put my hands in the small of my back, I am fine but putting my arms overhead stresses my lower back out.

Have a great day!

Today I did Cathe's All Out HIIT ~ floor and step premix.

One of the Knit Night Girls is having us over to her house for knitting tonight. I need to shower and get ready.

Julie, I read the first Hunger Games and thought it was ok but didn't like it enough to read the rest. I'd like to see the movie however. I don't ususally read mysteries but I heard about a series by Maggie Sefton about a woman who knits. I couldn't find the first few books at the libarary but was able to jump in the middle and catch on. They are pretty good and contain patterns and baking recipes.

Pam, I think I should have eased my way into the workouts not just plunged in headfirst, I might not have been as sore since I've been slacking until recently.

Janie, as you say you can start fresh tomorrow.

Penguin Good work on XT Bis and Tris + core and then your 35 min from Hardstrikes. Enjoy your rest day.

Pam You are probably right that the time change happened at the right time for you. I am having trouble getting up in the morning too but I still feel totally wiped out. Even getting into the shower seems to take too much energy . Good work on XT bis/tris and the plyo+firewalker tabata combo and your XT Cardio leg blast and core 2.

Julie Good job on your yoga workout. I am glad that you enjoyed this one more than the first one you did. Standing back bends can bother my back too, be careful when you do them. Stupid time change......I go through feeling really crappy twice a year. I wish it didn't bother me so much. Good job on Cardio supersets too.

Janie Sorry your eating hasn't been good. If it makes you feel better my eating has sucked this week too. You are right tomorrow is another day to start fresh. Good job on Ride.

Well I decided to take Friday off from work. I tried to get up this morning to try a workout but I just couldn't do it . Tomorrow I will be able to do one since I don't have to get up so early so it will be easier.

Happy Friday.

Cheryl

Did 30/30 tonight.

Pam, Walt (Joey's brother) seems to be the same lately. But we know the inevitable.:( I won't be going with Joey to MI, will be staying home. Didn't know him that well and besides I think (and so does Joey's sister) that it should be immediate family. Siblings. That's how it was when my mother died and it felt right. Great job on XTrain Cardio Leg Blast and Core 2.

Julie, Great job on Cardio Supersets. Thank you so much for the pep talk. I needed that. What a handsome man this Travis and his Yoga Foundations. Looks like a really good practice too.

Penquin, Great job on AOH floor and step premix. Have fun at the knitting party.

Well I decided to take Friday off from work. I tried to get up this morning to try a workout but I just couldn't do it . Tomorrow I will be able to do one since I don't have to get up so early so it will be easier.

Cheryl, Hope your eating has improved. Sure is hard sometimes isn't it? Dang. Enjoy your rest day.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Julie Great job on CSS. This is a good kind've mid-difficulty one so does sound perfect for pseudo-recovery. OK, I feel a little better about the standing back bend knowing that you don't put your hands on the floor, but it does still sound like it would hurt your lower back. I don't think I would like it much! I really enjoyed the Hunger Games series and the first movie. I'm thinking the second movie is supposed to be coming out soon.....?

PenguinGreat job on AOLIH. I really like that workout and it's kind've sneaky. When I do it I don't feel like I'm killing myself, but I'm always soaked in sweat when I'm done. We all do too much with our workouts sometimes, but it's all about balance right?

Cheryl Sorry to hear you are still having such a hard time with the time change. I am feeling really tired today, I think the effects of the travel and the time difference have caught up with me. I'm so glad it's Friday. That's nice that you were able to take today off, I hope you enjoy it! I thought about taking today off too, but I have too much work to get done :( Oh well, I've got the weekend to sleep in. I really wish they would do away with the time change thing, I don't see the need for it at all! I do enjoy it being light later in the summer, but the switching back and forth is so hard!

Janie Great job on 30/30, I'm thinking you like that workout :D;) Awww, that is sad about Walt. I do understand the immediate family only. Even though everyone wants to be there, that is such an emotional time, but it's nice they will have each other for support. Big [{{HUGS}}} to you and Joey. QUOTE=janiejoey;2194407]Did 30/30 tonight.

This morning for me was XTrain Burn sets chest, back and triceps. It felt hard and good and I am quite sure I will be feeling it tomorrow (after I wake up nice and LATE :p:D) Happy Friday ladies!

Pam

This morning was HardStrikes. I am liking that one more and more. I am so happy it is Friday and the weekend. My week has been jam packed with meetings and today is my first day with only 1 meeting. Yea! I may get actual work done today if I am lucky.

Penguin Great job on AOLIH floor and step! The Hunger Games movie was pretty good. It does have differences from the book but I think that is true with all movies made from books. That is a very interesting concept for a mystery book/series to include knitting and baking.

Cheryl Enjoy your vacation day. Hopefully you can catch up on sleep and get back to normal. I am slowly learning that I can’t bend as far back on those standing bends as most people. I barely even lean now and that seems to help. My biggest problem is when you go from the backwards lean right into a swan dive to forward fold. Ouch! I have to go v e r y s l o w.

Janie Great job on 30/30! Travis isn’t bad to look at. He does have a bit of an accent and talks slowly. I can’t quite place his accent. Sometimes I have to think about what he is saying. Like in the second yoga workout, he kept saying “thigh” but it sounded like “eye”. I was confused on why I needed to rest my head on my “eye” and then it was like, oh duh, he said “thigh”.

Pam Great job on BS CBT! Yes CSS is a nice mid-level intensity workout. I used to be able to get into a backbend (with my hands on the floor) from a seated position but never from standing. I think I would really hurt myself if I tried it like I used to be able to do now. I think the second movie is supposed to come out in the Fall. I hope you get a chance to rest up over the weekend!

Have a wonderful day!

Janie Good job on 30/30. My eating is better but there could still be some improvement. It is hard sometimes to eat properly.

Pam Sorry to you are having a hard time with the time change. At least it is Friday and you can relax on the weekend. I wish they would do away with the time change too, I really don't see the need in it. Good job on XT Burn sets Chest, Back and Triceps. Enjoy your sleep in tomorrow.

Julie Good work on Hardstrikes. Yuck I hate it when all you have are meetings. I hope you were able to catch up on your work. I am the same as you with going from the backwards lean right into a swan dive to forward fold. I have to go very slowly too.

So I didn't really sleep in I was awake at 4:30 but at least I didn't have to get out of bed. I managed to do Low Impact Challenge this morning. It felt so good to get moving again. After that I got all of the housework done and also some running around. I am so looking forward to not having much to do tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Had a beautiful day today. Warm and sunny. I pulled the cushions for the backyard swing and sat outside for a few hours this mornig than again this afternoon. One of my favorite places to be.

We took April to the park again but we forgot her favorite toy, so she had nothing better to do but pick on the other dogs so we ended up going off on our own in the wooded part of the park. Where I tripped and fell, hurting my ankle, I think its just a light sprain, which I’m icing as I type.:p Hopefully the icing helps and its 100% tomorrow.

Today was Gym Style Back, shoulders and biceps.

Pam, I really do like 30/30, Short, intense and then done. Most of all it works. Great job on XTrain Burn sets chest, back and triceps. Hope you do feel the DOM's tomorrow. Yea! You did good work.

Julie, Love the explanation of yoga workout. Great job on HS. Glad you only had one meeting today and was able to get some work done. Yea! LOL you are so funny! I can see you trying to rest your head on your thigh! LOL. I'm still laughing. You made my day.

Cheryl, I hear you on the eating part. I do. My eating has improved also. Let's try to keep it that way. Great job being able to at least stay in bed comfortably and on LIC this morning. And of course for the cleanmax. I need to do that.

Penquin, It was beautiful here as well. I put out the hummingbird feeders. I'm a little past due. I think they will forgive me. Can't wait to see them. OH NO! Hope your anckle heals quickly.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Hubby got up at 4am, to drive across town to meet his friends, to get into a truck to ride to the other side of Nashville {we are in Memphis} for a RC Plane Meet. He got there a little past 8am.

I'm planning a day of knitting, reading, swing sitting and maybe some weeding. I had the heat turned off overnight but its still 72* inside, which is normally what we set the heat at.

Ankle seems to be okay but I'm going to give it a break.

Whatever you do, PLEASE DON'T BREAK YOUR ANKLE! You need to be able to workout and weed. LOL

Enjoy your knitting, reading, swinging and weeding.

Take care,

Janie

Penguin I am glad that you enjoyed your warm and sunny day. I hope your ankle gets better soon.

Janie Good work on GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps. The eating gets bad when the weather is horrible outside. I am so over the rain now and want some sun.

Wow I actually slept in until 7am . It is rare that I do that. This morning I did Supercuts and almost did all 8 rounds of the situp/pushup combo. After that I just lazed around.

Have a great day.

Cheryl

I spent most of the afternoon outside in the backyard swing, knitting on a baby blanket. Hubby didn't get home until after 6pm, but he bought a trainer plane.

My daughter is having a procedure done and needs me to take her to the hospital and back. Then I'll stay a couple of days to watch after her. Should be back on Wed. She is OK, just women things nearing premenopausal, so that her periods hopefully will stop. Yeek! I don't know exactly what it is, but will find out more while I'm with her.

Don't know what kind of computer set up they have, but in case you don't hear from me that's why.
