Strength in Numbers

Janie What a pain losing your post TWICE! If it had been me I'm not sure I would've gone for that third attempt! Great job on chest, triceps, abs and balance, wow! You are very sweet taking care of the house and animals for your son while they are gone. Another very cool zentangle, I don't know where you get the inspiration! I like the name too!

Cheryl how was the neighborhood BBQ? I hope that the weather cooperated for it. Is that what gave you heartburn? I'm glad to hear that you were feeling better on Sunday, great job on yoga. Congratulations on getting your TRX too! How exciting!

Saturday morning I was wide awake early and was feeling good so I got up and did Intensity. That probably wasn't the best idea after doing AB on Friday, later in the day it really set in and I was moving SLOWLY. AB always gives me killer glute DOMS, I think it's the dixie cups that do it. Since I was so sore I decided to take Sunday as a rest day and just spent the whole day cleaning and getting the laundry done. I decided to start a new rotation this week even though I didn't do the last week of the last rotation. I'm doing the July 2010 rotation and it started this morning with Imax. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Pam

Ooops. I forgot to post on Friday. I did do my quad and calf workout. I also had to take Ozzie to the vet so I took the day off of work and went to my parents to do laundry since they live close to the vet. Turns out Ozzie has a mast cell skin tumor that needs to be removed. So he is scheduled for surgery this Friday, poor baby! :( Saturday I had an epiphany and realized I haven’t had a rest week in 8 weeks so I am taking this week as an active recovery week from heavy lifting. Saturday I did MMA Kickbox and then house cleaning/chores, Sunday I did Cardio Supersets and then was lazy the rest of the day, and this morning I slept in after a horrible night of almost no sleep.

Amy Welcome and feel free to post whenever you want/have time. We’ll be here. I love STS as well. Mesos 3 & 2 are my favorite (in that order). I could do without meso 1 ;) except I do like Meso 1 legs.

Janie Wow sounds like you had a jam packed weekend. Sorry you were having computer problems. Ok, I know this will sound stupid but I didn’t know we could grow olives in the US. Guess I thought all olives grew in Greece and Italy. I know your son probably would love to have you at the wedding but I bet he is also relieved to leave his house and pets in your hands and not have to worry about them while he is gone. That is probably one of the best gifts you can give, peace of mind.

Cheryl I believe yesterday was the first official day of Fall so I guess short weather is technically over. The BBQ must have been pretty spicy if you had heartburn. That stinks when you can’t get sleep and then the next day you walk around like a zombie. At least that is how I feel today. Great job on getting yoga in and I am sure you will be back on track in no time. That is so awesome that you got a TRX . Getting new fitness toys always helps me get excited about working out.

Pam So glad you trip went well. I bet it was a big relief to have the computers work smoothly. With a washer that old, you probably don’t need a surge protector. Ours is 5 years old and has all these computer parts which can fry with electrical surges. Sometimes I think technology is a two-edged sword. Great job on AB and abs from SJP and then Intensity the next day! Wow! I’m glad you listened to your body and took Sunday as a rest day—well active rest day. Great job on Imax! Just looked at that rotation and the last week looks like a doozy starting with CCC and then ending in MIC followed by BodyMax! I do like that she put the BodyMaxes on Saturdays. Seeing those on week days usually makes me skip the rotation.

Have a wonderful day!

Pam The BBQ was great. It wasn't sunny at all but it was still warm. We sat outside until 8:30. It is amazing how early it gets dark now. I am not sure what contributed to my heartburn as I only had two glasses of wine a burger and a salad . The TRX is great there is so much you can do with it. Wow AB and Intensity back to back no wonder why you were moving so slowly. Enjoy your new rotation.

Julie Poor Ozzie, give him a hug for me. Will he have to stay overnight at the vet's or can he go home in the evening? You do deserve a rest week. You must have been enjoying your rotation that you didn't notice that you hadn't had a break. Good job on your quad and calf workout MMA Kickbox and Cardio Supersets. I hope you sleep well tonight. You know I didn't have anything spicy at the BBQ so it really threw me to wake up with heartburn. I like getting new fitness toys it is so much fun to try them out.

So today I tried a TRX workout. It is amazing how hard using your own body weight can make things.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on your quad and calf workout on Friday. I know how it goes forgetting to post sometimes. So sorry to hear that Ozzie has to have surgery, poor little guy :( Wow, no rest week in 8 weeks, you were way overdue. Great job on MMA kickbox, cleanmax and CSS this weekend! I had a terrible sleep Sunday night too  last night was much better though. I think for me it was the time change catching up with me.
It's funny, it seems like the old low technology stuff lasts forever and then they start getting all fancy and adding all these functions and things keep breaking down. I am going to keep my old washer and dryer as long as they keep working for me. I bought them used over 15 years ago and they just keep chugging along, so I have definitely gotten my money's worth. I sure hope your washing machine is working again soon! Usually what I do when Cathe has one of the BMs on a weekday is I do the cardio in the morning and the weights at night. It's not too bad that way since the weight segments are only 30 minutes. I hadn't looked at the whole rotation and didn't know what a crazy final week I was in store for!

Cheryl I can't believe how much darker it is in the mornings and at night already. It seems like it changed a lot in one weeks time. I hate that :( OK, you are really making me want a TRX. Maybe that will go onto my Christmas wish list! I'm glad that you had a nice time at the BBQ, you should not have gotten heartburn from that dinner! Strange!
Great job on the TRX workout.

Eunice I hope you are enjoying your last few days in Australia. I saw that your stuff was picked up already, I hope that the move goes smoothly!

Janie I hope you are enjoying your time in Vegas!

This morning was High Step Challenge. I haven't done that one in awhile and it was a lot of fun. I was groaning about all of the band work though  Have a great day ladies!

Pam

This morning I did Cycle Max Express. It has been a long time since I rode my spin bike. I’m glad I stuck with the express premix instead of the whole thing because I think my legs needed to get used to riding again. I thought the express premix would leave out those stupid hover jumps (hate those ) but they were in there at the end waiting for me.

Cheryl Great job on your TRX workout! I’ve never used a TRX but I imagine it is a lot harder than it looks. I am sure it calls on all your stabilizer muscles to help balance you during the moves. That is weird about the heartburn with nothing spicy and it doesn’t look like you ate too much either. Thankfully Ozzie does not have to stay the night at the vet. We have to drop him off at 7:30 in the morning and then they will call us to pick him up around 2 or 3. I was really enjoying my rotation until the last week when I started feeling exhausted and just not wanting to work out. That is when I was like, ok, it is time for a recovery week.

Pam Great job on HSC! That one is fun and the time flies by. I always think that there is no way it is actually 70 minutes long because it is over before I know it. It is funny you said the time change is affecting you and I immediately thought about changing our clocks back and thought “oh my gosh, I missed it” and then I realized you meant the time change from London to here. I am a true blonde to the core sometimes. :D Hold onto that washer for as long as you can. Mine is still not fixed but you did remind me I need to call and check on when they will be out again since it has been over a week since they came out and tried to get it fixed again. Sorry I didn’t mean to point out that final crazy week which looks like you will be ending the rotation with a bang!

Have a great day!

Will post my workouts later, but now wanted to get to personals first.

Cheryl, Sauerkraut is done and better tasting than the others because I put in more mustard seed, caraway seed...Hmmmm:) Oh! DO I KNOW about heartburn. Especially when I eat later than normal in the evening. Not a pleasant feeling. Great job on yoga Sun. From what I understand TRX is great. Enjoy the new workouts when you get it ready. Now, get some rest, you need it.

Pam, Thank you for the compliment on my zentangle. Sometimes I wonder about it and if I'm wasting my time. Great job on Intensity on Sat. and AB on Fri. You poor thing, I bet you ARE sore. Once you said dixie, I knew exactly what workout you did. LOL Ouy! Good job too taking a well deserved rest on Sun. even though it was a cleanmax day. OOOOOO, a new rotation is always exciting. Great job on Imax.

Julie, Great job on quad and calf workout. Oh no, does Ozzie have cancer? Enjoy your active recovery week. 8 weeks is a long time not having a break, but as long as it doesn't happen too often you are OK. I know you know this. Great job on MMA Kickbox and cleanmax Sat. Wonder why you had insomnia. Hmmmm Maybe because of Ozzie? Get some rest. I didn't know there were olives here too. To my happy amazement I couldn't just let them got to waste. LOL Awww, you make me feel better by not going to the wedding. You are right, I think that is a good gift by taking care of his house and pets. Thank you.

Cheryl, I knew you would love TRX. I think someday I might have to get that! Good for you.

Eunice, Thinking of you as you move back home. Have a pleasant one.

Pam, Great job on HSC. I love that workout. I agree about the band work.

Julie, Great job on Cycle Max Express. Now I need to look up hover jumps. LOL. I forgot what they are.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Pam I really noticed a difference when I came back from vacation and every morning it seems to be getting darker and darker. The TRX is great you should ask for one for Christmas. Heartburn for me is rare and since I didn't eat anything that would give me heartburn makes is a bit baffling. Good job on High Step Challenge. Is there a lot of band work in it? I guess it has been a while since I have done it too.

Julie Good job on Cycle Max Express. Spinning sure does work the legs good idea to go with the express premix. The TRX is deceiving you can really get a good resistance workout done. I am glad that Ozzie doesn't have to stay the night. One of our cats had to stay the night and you just worry about them being in a strange place. 8 weeks is a long time to go without a break, enjoy your recovery week.

Janie The sauerkraut sounds yummy. The TRX is great and you can take it anywhere, it doesn't weight very much at all. Good job on back, shoulders, biceps and abs.

Today I did MMA Boxing, it was a good workout. I need to start looking at some workouts that I haven't done in a while I seem to keep pulling out the same ones all the time.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Julie Great job on CM express! That is pretty sneaky of cathe to get those hover jumps in on the express version :p At least you weren't dreading them the whole workout though since you didn't know they were going to be in there ;) That is so funny that you thought you missed the time change :D It made me laugh. I am definitely not going to get a new washer until this one drops dead. It is like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going! You need to get those guys out there to fix yours once and for all. That must be so frustrating. That's ok, I'll forgive you for pointing out the crazy last week of this rotation. I would have found out sooner or later :p

Janie That is so cool about the olive tree that you found. First you find blackberry and now olives! That is great! OMG no you aren't wasting your time with the zentagles! They are just so cool!
Great job on back, shoulders, biceps and abs!!

Cheryl You've convinced me, the TRX is going on my Christmas wish list. Of course the DH never pays any attention to the wish list when he's shopping, but maybe someone else will! Well luckily you don't get heartburn often, it sure is a pain (literally!) when it happens! Almost any band work is a lot of band work in my opinion! The bands really get me so much worse than weights do. I can't remember which one of the exercises she was doing but we did a pulse of 15 and I was dying but thinking get through it and you're done, but oh no! There was another round of 15 pulses. I was screaming by the end! Great job on mmA Boxing. I know what you mean about pulling out the same workouts. That's why I like the rotations, they force me out of my workout ruts!

This morning for me was Power Max. I usually enjoy it but this morning it seemed like the breakdowns went on forever. I guess most of the older workouts have a longer breakdown on the combos. I really was tempted to just stay in bed, but I dragged myself out. So now it looks like I will be going to S Africa the week after next to teach a class. It was up in the air for several weeks as to whether or not they would be able to get hardware for it, but they came through. That should be an interesting trip! Now I'll have lots of work to do to prepare too :rolleyes: Have a great day everyone!

Pam

This morning I did Yoga Relax. I think I like that one better than Yoga Max. With YR, I feel stretched out and calm afterwards. With YM, I actually feel tighter and a little stressed. Weird.

Janie Great job on back, shoulders, biceps, and abs! We won’t know whether the tumor is cancerous until they remove it and biopsy so probably sometime next week. Boxers are susceptible to these types of tumors but weird thing is Oscar never had a single one in his 11 years. Enjoy your American olives!

Cheryl Great job on MMA Boxing! Funny how we gravitate to doing the same workouts over and over. I am not sure if that is because I like the comfort of familiarity or if I am just too lazy to pull out another DVD. I don’t think I would like leaving Ozzie overnight. We had to leave Oscar overnight when he was neutered and at the end of his life when he was in the Animal Hospital. I hated every minute of it.

Pam Great job on dragging yourself out of bed and doing Power Max! So far, they will be coming out to fix the washer on Monday which means another weekend of dragging my laundry to my mom’s. And hopefully, on Monday, they fix it this time. I am trying not to be too upset about it since it is barely covered under warranty but it is hard. Oh wow! South Africa sounds interesting. Have you ever been there before? Do you have to get special shots or anything or is that for other parts of Africa?

Have a wonderful day!

Worked on a zentanglel today and did a Rolly walk, Joey and I went with him. LOL Getting ready to go to Mexico tomorrow, so will post either tomorrow night or the next day. Want to purchase some of their beautiful ware, blankets, a few drugs, glass, leather, and seeing friends we made along the way from previous years.

Janie The sauerkraut sounds yummy. The TRX is great and you can take it anywhere, it doesn't weight very much at all. Good job on back, shoulders, biceps and abs.

Cheryl, Great job on MMA Boxing, that one sure is a good workout. I should look also at other workouts. When I get home though.LOL

Pam, Great job on PM. OOOOOo I love that one! You were so good about doing the workout even though you wanted to stay in bed. Good going! S. Africa? What? To teach a class? Wow, you just never know where you'll be. How wonderful for you. How long will you be able to stay in Africa?

Julie, Great job on Yoga Relax. I feel the same way with the two yoga workouts. Let us know about Oscar when they take a biopsy of his tumor. Poor little guy. Hoping for the best.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Julie Great job on YR. I am so proud of you for doing yoga! i like that one better than YM too, but I think it might be because it's shorter(?) I think some of those poses in YM are really tough to hold so that is why your muscles feel stressed afterwards. I'm glad they are scheduled to come fix your washer on Monday and I'm hoping for you that this time will be the charm! No I have never been to South Africa before but I have heard that Johannesburg is supposed to be nice. Luckily there are no special shots required!

Janie That's cute that you and Joey went with Rolly on his walk, I hope he appreciated it :p Oh how fun that you are headed to Mexico today! Enjoy your time there! It sounds like it will be really fun!
I will be in S Africa a week, but working most of the time  it should be an interesting trip!

This morning for me was muscle max. I forced myself to do the same weigh as Cathe on everything except the one arm rows. I can't do those slow ones that she does in this workout with 25 pounds, I have to drop it to 20. I was proud of myself for hanging with her on the biceps though. Have a great day ladies!

Pam

This morning I really didn’t want to get up when the alarm went off but since I already had one leg out from under the covers and hanging off the bed, I decided to just get up. I did CrossFire and was pleasantly surprised to still be standing at the end. Granted I modified some of the moves by not going very deep and using lighter weights plus paused a few times to get a sip of water but still I survived!! It amazes me how Cathe creates workouts that make me want to die but that I still want to do.

Janie Great job on your Rolly walk! LOL! Have fun in Mexico. It sounds like you already know what you want to do down there. I’m glad I am not the only that feels that way about the yoga workouts. I will certainly share the news about Ozzie as soon as I get it.

Pam Great job on Muscle Max! One of my all-time favorites and my favorite total body workout. That is great that you matched Cathe on most everything especially the biceps because I know you have been working on increasing for those. I think that is why I don’t like YM either because of how hard some of the poses are. Plus I think I stress myself out to try to go as deep as possible but with YR it is supposed to be relaxing so I allow myself to go with the more beginner versions of the poses.

Have a great day!

Julie Wow, good for you getting up and doing Crossfire on a day when you had a hard time getting out of bed, that is awesome. I know what you mean about workouts that make you want to die but you still want to do them....it's weird huh? CCC immediately came to my mind when i read that! Thinking about you today, I believe Ozzie has his surgery today? I hope everything goes really well. I know you will be pampering the little guy when he comes home.

This morning for me was 40/20. It was nice knowing I only had a 30 minute workout to do! I set my alarm for a little bit later and enjoyed the extra time. I was still sweating like crazy and had to laugh when I saw all of the sweat drops all over my step, but that one really flies by. I am so ready for a weekend, glad it's Friday. I hope everyone has a great one!

Pam

Joey and I had such a lovely time in Mexico. It was 100 degrees, sunny and Joey was concerned for his skin. Me too. But he slathered up and out in it we did go. Bought all kinds of beautiful things. I love the Mexican people, kind and outgoing, friendly. We, as always, can't believe what they say though on their prices. LOL:D It's all part of the fun of selling and the deception game. But, they didn't know how seasoned we are from learning this long ago. We came home with things that I think was fair priced. Most of which were 2/3 less or more than the asking price.

Will be sitting beside the pool today working on my zentangle and before dinner will go to the gym. Post that when I'm done later tonight.

404080385.jpg

Can't complain, it's so beautiful here. This is the pool and the hot tub is just off the right side of it, yet connected. Really cool. If you stand up you can see the strip about 10 miles away. What a view!

Pam, LOL, yes Rolly loved his walk. We'll be wa..lking with him again tonight. Wish I could go to S. Africa with you. Always wanted to go there. Enjoy the uniqueness of your travels. Great job on MM and matching Cathe. That's amazing! Good for you.

Julie, I know how hard it is to get out of that comfortable bed and start the day with exercising. Very proud of you, not easy sometimes. great job on CF and still standing. LOL:D It amazes me too that Cathe can create such fantastic challenging DVD's. They are hard like you said and still want to do them. Maybe because our desire of wanting to be healthy makes that happen. Anyhoo, very proud of you.

Pam, Great job on 40/20. I do love those 30 min. workouts that make you sweat like that. Feels so good when it's over and had accomplished a good workout.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful weekend,

Janie

This morning I decided to all of Cycle Max. Well, I did the scrambled premix because the hover jumps in the regular version is at the end but they are first on the scrambled premix so I got to get those done and out of the way. I’m glad it is Friday but I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Tonight I will be doing laundry at my parent’s (again!). Tomorrow is errands and cooking lunches to freeze. Sunday should be a lazy day (after my work out anyway).

I did get a call about Ozzie’s surgery. It went fine. He is doing well and can go home this afternoon. They won’t know the biopsy results until next week and he had to get his stitches out in 10 days.

Pam Great job on 40/20! Knowing it is only 30 minutes makes it easier to do. I can always gauge how hard the workout was by either how long my face is red after I am done or how much I sweat during the stretch. Thanks for thinking of me and Ozzie today. Yes he will be spoiled beyond belief for the next few days (at least!). :p

Janie Glad you had a great trip to Mexico and came out with some well-priced goodies. I have never been to Mexico and probably wouldn’t know what a fair price for what they are selling is. I would be one of those that probably over pays. I would just figure it is like any other tourist places, over priced because of where you are. The pool is beautiful. Keep slathering up that sunscreen on Joey. The NV and UT sun can’t be much kinder than Mexico (but of course, you guys know this :)).

Have a wonderful (Fri)day!!!

Using mostly machines tonight I did legs and abs.

Julie, Great job on scrambled ;prem of Cycle Max. Yes, those hoover jumps are something else. Sounds like your weekend is full up. Enjoy Sunday and do be lazy that day.

I'm glad Ozzie's surgery went OK. Bet you are glad he's home. We'll keep slathering;)

Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend,

Janie

Janie I'[m so glad you had such a wonderful time in Mexico. I don't really like the whole bartering thing at first, but once I get into the swing of it it is really fun! It sounds like you didn't let them get away with anything, good for you! Wow, is that the backyard at your son's house? Tha tis just gorgeous! What a beautiful spot to hang out.
I wish you could come to S Africa with me too! I will be going by myself which isn't so much fun :( I'm hoping there will be some fun folks in the class though.

Julie Great job on CM and doing the scrambled premix to get those hover jumps out of the way earlier! I hope your busy weekend wasn't too bad and that Ozzie is doing well after her surgery. Today is the big day for getting the washing machine fixed, right? I sure hope they really fix it this time!

Janie Great job on your leg and ab workout! I hope you had a great weekend! Oh wow, great job on your back, biceps and balance work at the gym too!

Saturday was all of BM2 for me, that is such a long workout but is another one that doesn't seem nearly as long as it is. I did remember to do my abs before upper body, so I was able to do all of the side planks. Then we left to go see Carl run in a XC meet. It was a nasty rainy muddy day so it wasn't his best time. He was pretty disappointed because he had been training really hard and was sure he was going to break 17 min for his 5k, but he just couldn't do it in those conditions. Yesterday was my rest day and I went to my niece's confirmation in the morning and then lunch at my mother's house afterwards. This morning was Imax2. I was pretty tired because DH had an early flight to Boston but once I got going it was fine. I hope that everyone has a great day!

Pam

Saturday I took a rest day from working out but I did cook up 5 different kinds of meals to freeze. In total I froze 70 lunches that should get me at least to the end of the year. Sunday I went back to doing weight work and did chest and triceps and this morning was hamstrings and glutes.

Janie Great job on your legs and ab workout! Great job on back, triceps and balance work too! I am very happy to have Ozzie back home with us. He is doing pretty good but occasionally licks at the stitches so he has to wear a collar when we are not home with him.

Pam Great job on BM2! You are so good to stand out in the yucky weather to watch Carl run. Great job on Imax 2 despite being tired in the beginning. Today is the big day to hopefully get the washer fixed once and for all. They are supposed to come between 5:30 and 7:30 tonight!!!! Don’t they know I go to bed at 7!

Have a great day!

Thought I would share a picture of Ozzie with his blow up cone collar on. The vet didn’t have one of those regular cones on him but I bought a blow up one because he would occasionally lick the stitches.
