silly but, do you put the paper over or under?

Over the top. It's the only way that makes sense to me. You can grab it with one hand and it rolls more easily. I can't STAND when it's coming from behind (though someone told me that's better if you have kids, because it limits how much they can roll off).

I also have a thing about toilet seats, and I don't think anyone else does!: unless in use, they should be closed ALL THE WAY! Solid cover down. I just attended an open house, and it annoyed me that the bathroom we toured had the toilet seat open. It was very clean, but I still don't want to see the inside of a toilet! There's a cover on there for a reason, and who wants their personal care products possibly falling in?
 
Doesn't really matter to me... never thought about it really. DH will not under any circumstances put a roll of TP on the roller. If he has to get a new roll, on the counter it sits! He also has a problem lifting the toilet seat and when he does, by some miracle, he LEAVES IT UP!! I've fallen into the commode on more than one occasion in the middle of the night when it's dark!
 
Over! When it rolls under it always seems to be hanging down four or five inches which drives my OCD through the roof.

I had a roommate once who never actually put a new roll on. She'd just leave it sitting on top of the TP holder. Is this the highest possible form of laziness in the world?!

OMG..I thought my DH was the only one who really cared how the darn paper comes off the roll! He has to have it coming off the top of the roll, I could care less as long as some is there when I need it.
 
DH & I are def Over-the-top people! Shhhh, I have even changed rolls at others homes! It's just has to be the RIGHT way! :7

Me too Kathryn!!! I cannot stand it if the seat is open. I even kept all the seats in the house closed when my son was potty training! We had a few close calls, but he always managed to get the seat up in time!

I like it over and DH likes it under but I can tell you how I convinced him to do it my way.

I told him that when I get up at night to go pottie, it's easier to work the TP in the dark if I know I can just push the top of the roll downward and know I can pull the paper off in lieu of having to search for the paper at the bottom and then pull off too much.

He's an engineer that loves logic and this worked for him :)
 
A compromise? The one who replaces the roll gets to decide if th epaper goes over or under.


Also - we keep the lids closed all the way too. With three cats and a dog, we don't need any toilet breath - haha!

GREAT! As if I haven't thought about this enough since the question was originally posted....I made a bathroom break at 5am this morning and COULDN'T FIND THE DANG END in the dark TO GET MORE PAPER! Guess I'll have to join the majority and pull it from the front (over).

Yeah, I'm with the majority - OVER!!! As I'm the little gremin that sneaks in and magically replaces the toilet paper rolls, I get my way.
