Questions for Lift, Move & Restore 2 Elevated - Questions??

First, I’m gonna say that I have a use for LMR at this time and I’m this |--| close to preordering LMR Elevate. However, I think LMR is easy to outgrow especially if there are no health issues. I don’t think there is much of a challenge for the physically fit moderate to advance exerciser to inspire repeated use of this series. In my experience a beginner modifying to an advanced level workout or an advanced modifying to a beginner level workout doesn’t really offer the same experience (d/t pace, reps & in some cases the exercise). It can be done, It is just more enjoyable (& safer) to use a workout that meets the appropriate challenge. So I understand the request for additional information about LMR Elevate. Also, if someone preorders & downloads the weight workouts it’s possible it would exclude any option to cancel later since they already accepted partial receipt of the product.

Now, I felt a bit differently than what other people have already stated. The challenge for me fell short not with the lift part as I didn’t expect heavy lifting in this type of workout. I expected the challenge to come from the functional & balance work. I think using a lighter weight while doing this type of workout makes it safer while still developing strength if the challenge is in the exercise. But I don’t think there was enough functional and balance work in the workouts. I also felt there were missed opportunities to utilize some of the equipment a little more (like the balls & the balance discs).

So I guess what I would like to see in the series is something I could grow into and reach for over time. I’d like to see more challenging functional cardio & strength based workouts, traditional moderate-advanced weight training workouts and restorative workouts that will all work together in a rotation that I could come back to time and again.

This would be great & I'd have no hesitation in pre-ordering! Well said! :)

LMR was the 1st series I purchased, and did not use in a rotation on receiving. I did it for a week, maybe 10 days, and went back to more demanding routines. I would have liked more time before having to decide if I want LMR2. Many people must love it, but I haven’t found it fits into my rotations. I haven’t decided what to do. I might get it for the cardio and weights, might buy a few Lives instead.

Well, I am at a 50/50 point, 50% keeping preorder & 50% Chance I’ll cancel somewhere
along the process. I, too, wish the preorder time was longer, at least until more information would be given. Didn’t want to miss out on the good pricing, but still on the
fence what exactly “elevated” means in relation to the original LMR.

My sister said the same ... she noted it really does not take long to know that a workout just won't enhance your fitness the way you want - you don't have to do a full rotation to know that!

I'm still hoping Cathe/SNM will provide more details before the price increase so a more informed decision can be made. I'm on the fence too. The bonus cardio is a plus as we haven't had much new cardio from Cathe for awhile (the 2 from the 2023 workours and the LI Bonus). But there'll be more opportunities to purchase these in the future, just not at this price break. And there may be another series down the road that I'll be more excited about.

And you're right ... we can still purchase Lives - they're about $6 with the 40% off coupon. I do enjoy getting new workouts.

I've noticed in alot of the recent Live workouts, on some exercises, Cathe will show different "levels" or
modifications, like an easier option, an immediate option & then more advanced, not taking alot of time
to explain them so to speak, but showing the 2 or 3 different options to choose from. Maybe that is
something she will be doing in LMR2, so each exerciser can choose their option based on what they can
currently do and the options are there to work up to. I know I appreciate that.

I hope that's the case & I wish she'd come on here and tell us or respond in her newsletter! That would be great! :)

I questioned the 1st series as to how I would use them. And for me, it is not a stand-alone series .. it's add-ons, bonuses, recovery days/weeks - it is not something for which I can do a month-long(er) rotation unless I'm coming back from a break, an injury or illness & for which I'm grateful to have them! And maybe I'll use them regularly in my 70's, 80's & 90's if I'm around that long. But do I want or need another similiar series so quickly after the first? A 40 minute workout is a long add-on!

If Cathe would just say as she has in the past "this is for the beginner actively aging, or advanced beginner actively ager, or intermediate ager, or for my advanced" that would be helpful. Yes, I know many Cathletes will purchase everything Cathe produces & find a reason to love it & praise it, & never question her. I guess I'm one of the "odd-ball black sheep" in this ,:) LOL.

I'm just asking for clarification so there's no surprises and no disappointment. I don't think that's too much to ask. :)

I appreciated the balance challenges, the mobility work, some of the functional weight training, but I just cannot do this series for an 8 week or longer rotation. My fitness level would regress, not progress. For me, these workouts will be primarily add-ons (thanks to timesavers!) or for recovery.
I totally share this above.

Exactly! I think so many that have posted their thoughts are hoping for a real "more advanced" series
which is fine ....but if that's the direction, I would like clarification on exactly how much more advanced
and what that means.
Yes! It works both ways! Clarification is needed for an informed decision. Even the question about canceling once you've already downloaded a bonus weight workout is important here!

Even if the series is confirmed to be only "slightly" elevated from the first, then peeps would have a better understanding and make a more informed decision. No surprises, no disappointments!
(
That's gonna become my mantra I think :D )

This for sure! I was also expecting those balance discs to show up EVERYWHERE - not just in bonuses. The Barre workout was the only one that incorporated them, too. But was hoping they'd have been thrown in with the other workouts, too.
I had expected those balance disc to be used more. And I expected them to be more difficult and had planned to forego their use initially. But no need - I even had to put more air in to give more challenge. They're fun! Might be fun to use in a cardio routine too ...hmmmm

One other thought here - I guess when I see a series released, I imagine that they're designed to be stand-alone, as in maybe this is the only series of workouts anyone has, period. As a standalone series, LMR fits the bill for novice exercisers, absolutely.

If you're an experienced exerciser and new to Cathe, though, I suspect you'd be a bit disappointed with the series if the intent was to rely on just the workouts in that series to maintain and improve your fitness level.

What I will say is if you stick with this series, I do think you have a good chance to improve your mobility and balance, yes. But not maintain and improve muscle mass and cardiovascular capabilities.

This is so important of a distinction here! Mobility and balance are important in longevity, health and fitness, we can all agree. And LMR delivers on improving and/or maintaining this. But strength and heart health are important too, and LMR1 falls short - at least for me and I suspect for most Cathletes who regularly use her other workouts. So as a "stand-alone" or complete (meaning it covers all areas of fitness) for experienced Cathletes, it is not a complete/stand-alone series. Now Cathe has other series that are not complete also like Step Boss and Boss Bands/Loops, or even the STSs.

So I could view the two LMR as specialty series and not a "stand-alone"/complete series. That concept makes me less uneasy. Thanks! :)

Not the black sheep. Ha ha. I’m on the same page with you.

i agree on this. As I previously posted, it all depend on the goal set.

if the goal is just mobility, balance yes the workout is relevant for the goal pursued. Expecting to gain strength from solely this series is a waste of time and energy/ irrelevant. At least in my opnion.

That being said revisiting LMR after a STS 2.0 is, in my opinion, a great twist increasing the weight load.

So true ... you can't gain strength from 3-12# weights if you've been doing STS2.0 with heavier weights - you will regress if LMR is all you do (without mods) for a few months! But as a recovery week after an STS rotation - great use! And using timesavers and bonuses and recovery segments throughout another demanding rotation - great! Again, if you've stopped working out with Cathe for awhile, or are coming back from illness or injury - LMR is great for a stand-alone series to start with! And note ... to start!

But LMR as a complete/stand-alone series without mods is NOT (IMO) a great idea for long-term use if you have been doing Cathe's usual workout rotations. And I say this as a member of the targeted group for LMR - I'll be 69 this year & have been active - so actively aging with a need for workouts that will help me at least maintain or hopefully improve my fitness as the years pass that take into consideration the aging limitations of arthritis, weakening bones, fraying tendons, fall risks, etc.

I would like to see the balance discs used in some standing abs exercises…meaning
holding one doing oblique twists, with & without knee lifts, drivers, circumference circles (they work great on this), chops, overhead side bends, etc. A disc does have a little
weight to it, I think just enough to give you a good range of motion.
