Push It

CONGRATS TONI!!! KEEP US POSTED!!!

Happy Halloween ! [imagine a scary pumpkin smiley here]

Today's w/o was Intensity hiit portion high/low + Push/Pull. What a fun little workout! I love the Body Blast Series! I think as far as music, fun factor, workouts, Cathe's personality, it probably ranks tops on my list. I must complete my collection with Super Sets and Legs & Glutes :eek: .

I just scored a great deal on a last minute costume for Bella! For $5 I got a who fairy princess costume complete with wand, tiara, skirt, wings! Sorry, but the retail industry rapes people when it comes to any type of holiday and novelty items. The mark-up is incredibly high, and I know this because I worked for 15 years in the drugstore retail industry where we used to make a KILLING on Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Halloween, Back To School, ect. It was really fun to set-up the season's :(.

Stacie
Cathe has possibly ruined me for all other workout DVD trainers (except for Jillian, Bob, and Tom Holland). IMO, no one holds a candle to her. She is just so close to perfection that when I do pop in a DVD from another trainer, I tend to critique the heck out if it! YUCK JEANS in a workout video?? Ya, that would bother me too! Kuddos to you though for venturing over to the non-Cathe dark side :D.
Well, I will still continue to do steady state cardio because I love it and it's so much fun! IDC what anyone says, hiit and Tabata can be dreadful sometimes. To push your HR zone into anaerobic levels is not what I would call "enjoyable".

Heartymax
WTG on Crossfire!
Glad your son's hand is doing ok.

Jennifer
HIIIII !!!!!

Have a spooky one fit ones!

Rough sleep last night. My only workout of the day was STS extended stretch + TB abs and stretch + 15min Yoga Max.

Do any of you have Stretch Max? It looks kinda nice ;)

Off to watch The Walking Dead shortly. Have a good night ladies :)

Happy belated Halloween! I hope everyone had a good time. Aurora tired herself out by running around and barking every time someone came to the door - then she was zonked on the couch for the rest of the night:D

By the way, does anyone tell jokes to get treats? I'd never heard of such a thing until I moved here to St. Louis... apparently it's supposed to be an incentive to get more candy. Whatever - I don't care... it's cute and fun but as far as I'm concerned anyone dressed up gets to grab some candy from the bowl.

I'm off to the gym; by the way, I've been working out even though I haven't been able to check in.
Afterburn was yesterday - I didn't do the full-size pushups but I did drag myself around.

I canNOT wait for Xtrain glutes - instead of balloon boobs I want balloon buns! LOL! Well, maybe not quite the big balloons:D And actually, I really think the thrusts will really work thighs, too.

Tasha, that is an awesome picture of you and Bella, and I love the frame of leaves, too - perfect Fall picture!
Great combination of workouts today!

Toni, Congratulations!

Heartymax, no worries about that last 5 min in Cross Fire - that is one tough workout. I'm glad your son's hand is doing okay; I hope the doc says all is going well - I'm sure it is:)

Stacie, it's interesting about the different DVDs you get to borrow from the library. Congrats to you for getting stronger with the 15 pounder! You might be happy with the 10 pounder, though; it might be handy to keep around.

Have an awesome night!

Good Friday morning to you!
I can't believe I have another winery party to go to on Saturday. At least it will be the last one until the Spring:)

This morning I did GS Legs - the entire thing. I had to drop from 40lbs to 35lbs but oh well.

I wanted to mention that I went to a Rehabilitative and Sports Massage Therapy place last week (not a regular massage place)... By the time the lady finished working on me (2 hours - two, fairly-uncomfortable at times hours) my shoulders were lined up properly with my hips and I felt more balanced and less tensed.

Apparently my soft tissue (fascia) really needed to be worked over from toe to head and has mostly resolved the problem with my shoulder/neck. I think I should have been going there a long time ago and it would have reduced the need for the chiropractor... the soft tissue is what can pull the spinal joints out of alignment (according to the massage specialist). Either way they both have helped, but now I seem to know more about what my body needs. I'm very happy to have finally figured it out:)

I have always stretched and have been using a foam roller and a rumble roller for a couple years, I think sometimes it just doesn't cut it for everybody. I highly - HIGHLY - recommend that anyone who has a chronic discomfort anywhere go try a Rehabilitation and Sports Massage Therapy. They work it out from feet to head. The solution may be just that - a specialized massage.

Tasha, I have Stretch Max and I like it pretty well. I usually do the section with no equipment and then I do the section with the ball. I do prefer, sometimes, to simply hold the stretch for a longer amount of time before switching sides.

Sorry about your rough night of sleep, but very glad you had such a good workout with all that stretching.

Hi the rest of you ladies

Have an awesome day!

Jennifer---glad the rehab massage worked wonders for your shoulder/hip. My son's appt. went well and hopefully, it will be out of the cast at the end of week 4 instead of the 6 to 8 weeks that they originally thought. We will see at the next check up.

Natty
---I just can't get into the stretch or Yoga type workouts. Just not my thing.

It has been an emotional week. The mother of one of my students was shot while walking in her neighborhood and she died. Not sure if it was random but things like that just don't happen in this area. I just found out that the a friend's mom is dying of cancer and she just found out she had it a couple of months ago. My heart just goes out to people right now. It is just a reminder that I have nothing to complain about when I think about how these families lives are being turned upside down.

My workout today is 40 minutes on the elliptical.

Happy Saturday!

I gave Trisets (UB only) a go today - I did pretty well. It felt great to really work. As for the pushups, I did them but I went very slowly; I was still able to bang out a solid 10. I hope I feel okay tomorrow - I think I will because overall I've been feeling so much better since the therapist push/pulled and stretched me out completely... my shoulders are still back:)

My lower body is feeling yesterday's GS Legs - woo hoo!

Heartymax, I am so sorry to hear about your student's mom and your friend's mom. That really weighs down the mind and spirit. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad that your son's hand is healing so fast! That is amazing! I wonder if he'll be completely cast-free or if they'll put him in one of those removable splints. I'm sure he wants to get back into football as quickly as possible, right?

I just wanted to mention that my shoulder/neck issue was caused by the shoulder not functioning properly because the shoulder was misaligned (not aligned with the hip). My hip is fine, and now that she pushed/stretched the fascia throughout my entire body and lengthened it now my shoulder joint is where it's supposed to be.

I best get on with the day.
Hugs, everyone!

Good evening ladies! I am been super busy at work lately trying to get some stuff done...sorry for being gone the past couple of days. Today was part of To The Max and part of Pure Strength. I went too heavy on the chest exercises though and had to quit early. I am visiting family so I will post personals tomorrow.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Hope the time change goes well for anyone who has to deal with it :(.

Friday's w/o was Leslie's 5 Really Big Miles. The only chance I got to do it was at 8pm, and so I only did 3 miles. I needed my "tv fix" before bed :D.

Yesterday's w/o was HE Interval Blasts + Legs. I swear to you, it's probably THE HARDEST cardio workout I own. For those not familiar, it's intervals + blasts from Imax 3 and Kickmax plus leg conditioning drills from Kickmax . Can I get a throw-up smiley dude over here? They should really event more smiley guys on this forum :p

Toni
Hope mom and baby are doing well :).

Heartymax
I'm sorry about the student and her mom :(. You are absolutely right about appreciating our lives, what we DO have, and not complaining about trivial things.

Jennifer
Hope your winery party went well ;).
GLS is HARD! What human being can do it with a 40lbs barbell and still live to walk, seriously? ;):D. Glad you got some nice DOMS :D.
I'm so happy your shoulder's are almost fully recovered! I did PT with massage and chiropractic care for 15 months when I was in that car accident a few years back. It does help tremendously.

Stacie
Have fun with the family!

Have a wonderful day ladies

Good morning everyone! No workout yesterday -- we just simply got home too late to get one in. It was good visit with my family. My sister and I were even to sneak away Saturday night and watch Sinister. Very creepy movie! We both jumped several times.

My sister made an awesome cake for my nephew's birthday. I attached a picture of it to my post.

Jennifer
That's so wonderful that the massage really helped you out. It's amazing how much pain our body can get in when we are just a little out of alignment. I am glad that you feel so much better.

HeartyMax
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your student and that your friend has cancer. It's very disheartening to have something like that happen in your area when you feel like it's a safe place. I really don't quite understand why people do what they do. As for your friend, my great aunt had a run in with cancer a couple of years ago. After aggressive chemo and radiation, she is now cancer free so there is hope! Plus, the treatments didn't make her sick or anything...it's amazing how far medical science has come. Hopefully, your friend will have the same experience that my aunt had.

Natasha
HE is definitely hard!!!! It's pretty long too...great job getting that workout done!

So, did you watch the Walking Dead last night? What a crazy epside! This season has been the best one yet! Lots of action!

Update on the IUD: I called my doctor and asked about why she was recommending the Minera over the paraguard. She said it was due to the heaviness of my menstral cycle. She also said that the Minera has 1/5 of the dosage of the hormone I take now in the BC pills. However, apparently, my menstral cycle is so heavy right now that she wants me to have an ultrasound to make sure that everything is ok. So the IUD is going to have to wait until I have a procedure or two done to make sure that everything is ok. At least we will be able to get everyone done before the end of year which will be good since our health insurance coverage is appalling for next year.

Have a great day everyone!

Ugh, the time change! Not a fan

IT SNOWED LIGHTLY OVER HERE LAST NIGHT! I woke up to see the roofs covered. Bella is super excited and so we're going for a walk to check it out .

Yesterday I decided to veer away from my rotation and do PUB . I also tried out the hip thrust moved w/the barbell . I only did a few, but man you can really feel it in your glutes! My butt hurts today :D. Mission accomplished!

Stacie
I LOVED THE CAKE!! Super cool! Looks very tasty too :p.
How nice that you and your sis went out and watched a movie together. It's great you do those things together, as it really is good to bond with siblings.
Me and my sis are 16yrs apart and have NOTHING in common but One Direction :D. We both are madly in love with that group! She comes over and we watch video's on youtube for hours .
NO, I did not watch The Walking Dead last night! I am watching it today!!!
I understand about the IUD and Minera now. With the IUD, there is always a risk you will have heavier periods and so if yours is already super heavy, then I can see how the hormones would help with that.

Have a great day super fit ladies!

Hey there.....sorry haven't been around. I was out of town for Jasmine's cheerleading competition and this week has been busy so far.

I made a feble attempt at Step Blast this morning, which didn't last longer than 20 minutes...LOL!

Now I'm glued to the TV watching the election. Yes I know, I'm insane!!

Be back tomorrow for personals.

Happy Election day - and an end to the phone calls and campaign ads!

This morning I did the cardio sections of To The Max. It's been a while since I did that one and I sure could use a green sick face, too. I almost went with Cross Fire but didn't think I was up for that one... apparently it was a good choice since TTM got me good.

Okay, which workout is HE?! I can't figure it out!

BTW, thank you - I am SO happy my shoulder/neck are back to normal:D I had no pain (other than slight DOMS) after Trisets and I even did some of the pushups! This means I can give PUB a whirl:)

Tasha, it sounds SO HARD! Topping it off with some barbell thrusts - that's fantastic! I hope you're able to sit down okay;) I need to get one of those padded barbell cover things, but you best believe - I will be thrusting!

Snow?! Geesh! It sure is pretty, and I'm glad Bella was excited.

You've got me curious about One Direction. It's fun to have someone to enjoy it with!

Stacie, I missed the cake but I'll check back in and look for it. For some reason when I Reply to Thread all that stuff goes away.

I was wondering about Sinister - good to hear it! I'm sure it was more fun than Argo... we saw it on Sunday. I may have stopped breathing a couple times; it was pretty intense. And can I just say - Ben Afleck is a babe!

Heartymax and Toni - hi; hope all is well with you and yours!

Have a good night - going to try to make stuffed shells.

Good morning everyone!

I hope the voting went well for all of you. I won't talk politics, but I see from my home page Obama won. I like to be informed/updated about stuff going on down there :D.

Weird thing happened to me yesterday. I was doing Circuit Blast (really fun BTW), and during it I kinda felt off my game. I thought I was having a weak day. At the end, during the stretch, I felt soreness throughout my entire body and chilly. Never had that happen to me before. I left the room, and it felt as though I was running a fever . I checked my temperature and lo and behold, it was pretty high. I took some Advil shorter thereafter. I was Ok last night, and this morning I feel fine.

Toni
Hope everything is going well with you, your step-daughter and the new baby.

Jennifer
HE=Hardcore Extreme. It's SO tough. Definitely "puke" worthy.
I can't live without my Valeo Barbell cover! It was recommended by people on this forum.
I'm so happy you were able to get back into push-ups! Colleen has been having shoulder problems and she had to take a hiatus from her beloved HC workouts.

Have a great day ladies!

I came back to post a clip of One Direction, Jennifer if you are interested or anyone else:
One Direction - Little Things - YouTube
This is their newest released song. I have their first album and it's SO GOOD. Next week their 2nd album hits stores in Canada & USA. They are taking over the world! They have sold out famous venues like MSG already! I love these boys :D.

Ok, gotta get some laundry done!

Good afternoon ladies! This week is turning into a rest week since I caught my son's cold and I am still getting everything ready for my trip tomorrow to my nephew's boot camp. I still need to buy some luggage (I just realized my ex took ALL the suitcases ) and a bunch of other stuff. I think I am on the upward slope of this cold though...I have been drinking peppermint tea like a crazy woman. We are still waiting to get the call from my nephew that he passed boot camp and our flight is tomorrow! The waiting is driving me crazy!!!!! I will try to post some pictures of my handsome nephew as soon as I can. :D Oh, I might not be checking in again until Sunday when we get back so just in case, I hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend. One last thing about my nephew, they post of the naval boot camp Facebook page that my nephew's division won the Captain's Cup over the weekend which means they bested 12 other groups! Hooyah!

Toni
You're not crazy at all for the watching the election updates! It was a very close one and I think Romney would have made huge changes if he had won. I know I was watching it closely too! How was cheerleading camp?

Natasha
I have never heard of One Direction but I will have to check it out now! Thanks for link.

That is really weird about Circuit Blast. I would normally say that might be from over exertion but I know you do much harder workouts that that. I hope you aren't coming down with anything? Maybe you were just tired...is Bella still keeping you up?

Did you watch the latest Walking Dead yet? I am dying to know what you thought about it!

Jennifer
I have never heard of Argo...I will have to check that out! Watch non kid movies is a really treat for me! It was nice to go out with my sister and see one. Btw, Sinister made us jump and gasp many times. It a pretty freaky movie...I was glad I didn't watch it alone.

That is wonderful news about your shoulder! I am so happy for you!

Hi! I did Muscle Endurance this morning - love it.
Now I'm off to the gym for some fun time - RIPPED class:)

Tasha, I hope you are still feeling okay - sounds like you worked the flu bug right outta you! That is bizarre!

Thank you for the One Direction link - that is such a sweet song! Those guys have some talent; their voices are fantastic!

The time change is hard to get used to but I will say it does help me get to bed earlier and then in turn get up earlier.

Stacie, Congrats to your nephew's team! that's awesome!
Keep feeling better and have a very safe trip! BTW, enjoy shopping for some new luggage;) Check back when you can!
