Push It

Ok, I'm back. I officially can't walk properly today . Despite that, it's a beautiful fall day and I'm going to take Bella to this skateboard park where she likes to climb the ramps and rails :D. Hey, if it keeps her happy, I'm all for it!

Stacie
I hope I did not sound like a miserable, ungrateful mother . Reading my last post to you, it kinda sounded like that . There is a daycare right by my house, and I think the rates will be fair since she is over 3yrs old now. We do have YMCA's, but not in my small city. The closest is Toronto. Thank you for the helpful suggestions :).
How did you make the squash? Last time I made spaghetti squash I cut it in half, put it face down in the oven with a little bit of water, EVOO, sea salt & pepper. I forgot the oven temp, but you can look that up on-line. Of course Tyler wants his spaghetti! Nothing beats reg noodles and pasta ;). How is your stomach today?

Jennifer
Yes, you are right. We do the best we can with our pets/kids :). My cats are so intuitive. If they know I'm upset, they will come and sit beside me, rub on me and purr. I love them :)
How was the Ripped class?
If I lived in the US, I would try out FFW. I'm only an A-cup, so I'm sure they would support well :D.

Toni
WTG on doing some Yoga! I know, it's one of those workouts that are very hard to get into. I heard Jeanette Jenkins has an amazing power yoga workout! Have you seen her? OMG her body is rockin!!! I was thinking of getting it :D. Here is the link:Jeanette Jenkins Power Yoga - YouTube

Have a good day everyone!

Hello...today was Low Impact Circuit. So I upped my step height  It just seem too easy last week. That did the trick. Still totally in the range of doable, but not easy. Which is just where I want to be since AB is tomorrow. So the good news is that I had no problems with my footing on the higher step. Maybe that's because I'm in better shape than the last time I tried  The last time I tried it(long ago) was with LowMax. The moves are a little tricker in that one, so maybe that was it. I felt like I was gonna twist and ankle and my foot kept hitting the step because I wasn't judging the step height right. Oh well. Now I am less afraid of step routines with two risers, so that is a good thing.

I recieved my HC(1-4) and CF yesterday. And of course, I've preview ALL of em...hehe. I do not think I will be using a body bar or barbell with the V1 HC workout. I don't have enough room in my space to do the moves to the side of the step, so I'm just going to do them off the back/front of the step. My pushups will just use the step long ways. And I'll use dumbells for the moves that need weights. I think I'm going to go with between 5 and 8 pound weights depending on the move. Can't wait to see how it goes :) Next Tuesday will be my first attempt.

Tasha - Ok...I'm thinking I don't need to do Butt Bible..hehe. 100 reps...yuck!! I'm glad you liked it though. Oh and you are not in plank position for the entire HC workouts. There are actually some leg moves. Some people were saying that it was 'light' in legs, but when I look at it I think my legs will be sore afterwards. I'm a bit weak in the hip flexor and some of the moves will need that. Plus there's lunges...which I am unhappy about(hate em). So there is lots of time when you are not in plank position.

And for right now, no power yoga for me. I'm really liking this 5 day a week thing with one day of less intense cardio plus one day of stretching/yoga. It feels very balanced to me and I don't feel mentally drained from my workout. Plus Collene mentioned that I need to be careful with yoga moves that are plank like while doing HC and I think she's right. So I'm actually thinking of switching my yoga DVD to a full stretch only DVD...we will see :)

Jennifer - hope you found some things you like!!

Good morning everyone! I previewed part of the Art of Stength: Newport last night which is a kettlebell workout. It looks good but super intense. I think I will start with something a little easier at first since he was moving crazy fast. It definitely looks like something to look at in the future though. I think I will start with the Bob Harper DVD that came with the kettlebell. I might try the Art of Stength once before taking it back to the library.

This morning I did RF: Full Body Strength and Conditioning. That one is the hardest Rushfit workout yet....it was very tough! I took extra breaks which wound up making Tyler late for school and me a little later into work. Sigh...why can't days have 25 or 26 hours in them? Next time I will try to up my weights since I only used 5lb dumbbells. I need to double up tonight and tomorrow to get back on track. Wish me luck!

Something really crazy happened yesterday...my poor sister's car caught on fire WITH HER IN IT!!! She was almost to work when she noticed that the car was smoking. She pulled over and opened the hood and a ton of smoke hit her. The rush of air fueled the fire and giant flames appeared. Her and her coworkers tried to put the fire out but they were not able to get it out until the fire department did it. Talk about scary!!!! Thank goodness that no one got hurt. The car is totalled though.

Last night I was talking to the leader of our cub scout den and he mentioned that he was having a really hard time lately. He said he had a couple of family members had passed away over the summer but what really got him is that his friend that he was deployed with in Afghanistan was killed recently during their second deployment. It really triggered him. He was been dealing with PTSD issues too on and off. I felt really sorry for him since he was on the verge of crying. It reminded me of the marine and I felt really sorry for both of them. I tried to reach out to the marine again later that night and once again got silence. I feel so bad for him sometimes...it's the only reason I even bother.

Toni
Spaghetti squash is a squash that once cooked the the pulp becomes strands that resembled spaghetti noodles!

Great job on the yoga! I am like you and haven't really gotten interested in it. Natasha talks so much about JM's Yoga Meltdown it has me thinking. I was reading an article the other day that said a good program has at least one day of stretching and yoga in it. Makes sense why all these workout systems (p90x, Rushfit, etc) have stretching days in the schedule. To be honest, I usually sub it with something else!

Btw, since your drop it like it's hot comment I cannot get that Snoop Dogg song "Drop it like it's hot out" of my head!!!!

Natasha
I didn't think you sounded like an ungrateful mother at all! Stay at home moms need a break too sometimes is all I was trying to say. Even just an hour can make a world of difference! Most SAHMs watch the kids all day and then get the duty at night. There are no breaks. That's why I never get mad if my sitter/friend drops all the kids off at the gym day care and blows off some steam by working out and just getting out of the house.

I was looking a collage video magazine that I received in the mail and read the description of Amy Dixon's Breathless body. That video looks like it would be right up your alley! I thought I would mention it to you.

Jennifer
No clue what caused the stomach trouble with the squash. I have been having food issues again and think the ulcer might be flaring up again :(. It's possible it may have been the spaghetti sauce more than the squash. Either way it wasn't fun! I did cook the squash exactly like Natasha said she does. I don't know...

Thanks for the tip the FFW. I have been buying sports bras at Sam's club. The Bally's ones they have there are amazing and really well priced! They are so comfortable and have pads that can be removed if you don't need them. If you ever get tired of the FFW, you might want to check those ones out! Do you have problems with the capris staying up? I bought some Addias capris and they seem to want to slide down all the time and show my hiney. They look cute but it's really kind of annoying when you are trying to workout!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Yesterday I did the Fitness Challenge class - it went much better this time:) She didn't have us go to different stations; instead we had our own workstation. The exercises were decent; very well rounded. I was taking it easy with the weights since I had done Power Hour, Ripped, and Athletic Training earlier in the week. I really need a yoga day for sure and honestly I thought I would do it today howEVer...

I did the L2 Butt Bible! I just couldn't resist! You're right - it has my name all over it:cool: Pauline is awesome; I don't know how she can keep coming up with things to say for a straight half-hour but she really doesn't stop talking and basically saying the same things but in a hundred different ways, and all of them are entertaining! Tasha, thank you - it was awesome! I am ready to check out L3:eek: I think I'm glad I didn't see your post about L3 until after I worked out this morning otherwise I may have done that one and been in pain with you:D

We have a fun weekend planned; Craig bought a Living Social coupon for helicopter flight lessons so we're doing that on Saturday! I'm pretty excited about this!
Sunday we have then annual Greyhound reunion; food, people, and dogs. We're also meeting our potential dog sitter for the first time, and she's coming to our house with her new dog after the reunion to see how her dog does with ours. Since she has a male who is very laid back - according to her - we shouldn't have any trouble.
And tonight - it's Mojitos and Mexican! Woo Hoo!

Toni, Pushing yourself is awesome - increasing your risers in LIC - Now that's the way to work:)

I'm looking forward to your report on HC. I want to give it another go - Sunday or Monday I'm thinking. Like you, I will probably be working on the front/back of the step instead of the side since I don't have a bodybar and don't plan to use the barbell for pushups again.

Tasha The skateboard park sounds fun, and it will definitely wear out Bella! Maybe she will grow into a Parkcore (sp?) participant - you know those guys who participate in the American Ninja Warrior activities. A lot of them do those crazy jumps and bounds through parks and cities and cling to rooftops and trees like Spiderman. They are incredible! I love watching them.

Your cats are SO sweet! How cute that they adore you the way they do:) How are they with Mark - not the same, I bet?

The Ripped class was a blast and I felt like it worked me out well without feeling spent afterwards.
Each segment goes by fast... interval, weights, kickbox, and then I think it's core (forgive me - it was 3 whole workouts ago:). It doesn't have a ton of pushups in the workout but it has some. I didn't have to drop to my knees at all:D The weight section is not the same as a high-rep or heavy weight but it definitely works the muscles. I wasn't sore the next day anywhere except a bit in my inner thighs (which could have been from Power Hour - I'm not sure).

Tell ya' what, I'm glad I started with L2 BB based on your report of L3! Enjoy your DOMS:D Maybe the walking with Bella will loosen you up a bit.

Stacie, um - OMG! Thank God your sister is okay! What is it with the women in your family and car problems?! LOL! Just kidding, I'm sorry:(
What a traumatic experience for her. And to have to buy a new car on top of that - I can imagine how stressed she may be. And the Boy Scout den leader... how very sad. It's very nice of you to try checking in with the marine.

Glad to hear you were able to do RF even if you did have to take extra breaks. Oops - everyone runs late sometimes; just because it wasn't a traffic jam doesn't mean being late wasn't for a good reason;) Only us fitness people can understand that (I think)! Good luck catching up on your workouts, I know you can do it - unless Ty wakes up in the middle of the night again but I'll be crossing my fingers and toes that he doesn't!

Hi Heartymax!

Have a super-duper day everyone!

Good morning everyone! Last night was PUB. OMG were my arms shaking. I went lower than Cathe by a couple of pounds for almost every exercise. I hit failure early on the the biceps and chest work. I was already slightly DOMSing from doing so many pushups in the Rushfit in the morning. Those hindu pushups (a.k.a. dive bombers) really fry the upper body. PUB was still an awesome workout though. Saturday, I am hoping to do Power Hour because it really bothers me that I KNOW I have done it but I can't remember a thing about it!

Jennifer
Glad to hear that the class went much better last night! It sounds like it's a lot of fun to get out and go to the gym. Working out and while also getting some girl time in! I used to go with my friend when we lived in Sioux Falls all the time. It was sooooo nice!

Helicopter lessons sounds amazing! You will have to let us know how it goes!

TGIF everyone!!!!!

Hi everyone!

No workout for me yesterday. DH and I went to an all-day breakfast place (sans child yay!). It was nice to eat my food warm and in peace :D.

Today was supposed to be Turbo Barre, but I've decided to do Hardcore Extreme Circuit Intervals instead (Imax3 + High Step Challenge weight segments). I will also be missing my workout tomorrow since we have to help a friend move.

Can you believe my butt is still DOMS'ing from Butt Bible?! OMG that workout just slayed the heck out of me!

Stacie
I'm so relieved your sister is ok! Holy cow, how scary!
It's so sad about the cub scout leader :(. I won't get into the controversial subject of the war in Afghanistan, but let's just say I don't like it one bit. I feel truly sorry for anyone who has lost a loved one during it :(.
Oh, I've checked out Breathless Body numerous times :D. In the end, it looks like too much repetition and dread for my liking :D. But yes, if all the intervals had 0 repetition, it would be right up my alley!
Is the Bob Harper Kettle Bell DVD your first Bob Harper experience?

Jennifer
Hope you have a wonderful time with the helicopter lessons! I've been on a helicopter once before and it was pretty awesome!
LOL, the Butt Bible :D. I have a feeling you are gonna feel it this weekend! L3 was crazy hard! I think I was a little to aggressive with the higher weight selection though .
Have fun Sunday too with the possible dog sitter. I hope she turns out to be a perfect fit.
Mojitos & Mexican Food :p. You lucky, lucky duck!

Toni
WTG on upping your step height! That's awesome . I know, you can feel a little uncertain going from 1 riser to 2.
I hope you love the HC's! I know Colleen does not stop raving about it, and I don't think I've ever seen her so enthusiastic about a program since STS.

Have a happy weekend folks!

Good morning, happy Sunday!

The helicopter ride was very cool! As for flying it myself I chickened out... I steered it for a couple minutes but then some wind hit us and I decided that it was better for the pilot to fly. There is a lot to keep track of and it was a bit over-whelming for me! I just wanted to relax and enjoy:) The "ground school" wasn't anything like a simulation which really would have helped, but oh well.

When we landed it was Craig's turn to fly. Upon their descent he tried to hoover and it was pretty funny - he was all over the place; he admitted that it's harder than it looks! He enjoyed the heck out of it, too:)

It was just plain fun, and we could not have had better weather - clear blue sky and almost no wind at all (just the occasional blast).

On to other stuff:
My glutes/thighs have slight DOMS from Friday's L2 Butt Bible; yesterday they had a bit more and I was walking a bit stiffly:D By the way, during L2 I was breathing hard and sweating so it definitely has a cardio factor in there.
I'm giving L3 a shot today - we'll see how I do:eek:

Yesterday's workout was TTM cardio portions only (step, HiiT, & Tabata). I followed it with the tabata slide & glide premix; there are pushups in that one (I think jack pushups) but I did mountain climbers instead because my upper body really needs a break. Total Cardio was just under a half hour, I believe.

Being desperate for some additional stretching - and being encouraged by Toni and Tasha adding yoga to their workouts (thank you, ladies) - I did Cathe's Yoga Relax for the first time... Premix #2 is barely over a half-hour so I went with that one. I like the Yoga Relax better than Stretch Max. I didn't go with JM's Meltdown because I definitely didn't want to work!

Because my upper body is needing a break I'm holding off on HC for another week or possibly until until my WAGs come in, AKA - Wrist Assured Gloves which were recommended by Colleen - Get Wags Gloves | Wrist Assured. They are padded gloves that decrease wrist extension by 15 degrees.
I ordered them yesterday but then got an email that they were out of stock and I wouldn't get them for a couple weeks:( I'm sure I'll use them for more than just the HC workouts.

Tash, I hope your DOMS is better today especially since you have to help a friend move, which definitely will be sort of like a workout!
How did the skate park go?
Sounds like you had a very nice time with Mark:) A nice chance to relax!

Your Hardcore Extreme sounds totally hardcore:eek: How did that go, especially if you're still feeling the L3BB?!

Stacie, you certainly have been nailing your upper body with PUB and the hindu PUs/dive bombers! Way to go! Did you end up doing Power Hour?

Toni, I hope all is going well and Drama Free!

Heartymax, I hope you enjoy your Sunday and that school is going well.

Have an awesome day!

Hello!! No workout for my on Friday. I had a cold and I just layed around all day. Saturday is my scheduled rest day, which I kept as rest. I'm back on track today with CF. Love the workout, but is Cathe crazy with that blue band and air jacks :eek: I was able to keep up with no rest until I put that band on...hehe. Even with the band I did pretty good. Only resting a couple seconds here and there. The rest of the workout I was able to keep up, but I did not use a band because I didn't have enough steam left to put the band on and off in time for the next set. Next week I'm going to do the workout with the pink band. I'm pretty sure I can do the entire thing without rest with that one. If that proves to be true I'll do the green for a week and then try it again with the blue. I'm not that far off using the blue, but I don't want to do too much too soon. I really liked the bonus core work. The crab thingy and the solider plank are not my friends. I do as many as I can without falling over :) Hoping to get better with those as time goes on.

Oh...bonus for me. I did all 16 jack pushups in the first set...whoot whoot!! I only did 8 in the second, but I'm going to add 1 each week hoping to get all 16 for both sets.

I've settled in on a rotation for the next four weeks that allows me to work core four times a week with some rest for my upper body in between. I'm looking forward to it.

Jennifer - That helicopter ride sounds awesome!!

Tasha - I so remember the days of never getting to eat when kids were at a restaurant with me. Glad you got to eat in peace :)

Stacie - those dive boomer pushups are tough!! My first round of P90X I could do exactly one with terrible form...LOL!! I remember when I was so proud to just be able to do one proper one.

HeartyMax - hope things are going well.

Toni---WTG with the step height increase. That definitely will add a blast to your already blasting workout.

Jennifer---Yep! I have been busy with homework, etc. The good news is that I am half way done with my paper that is due next Monday so I got a jump start.

Stacie--I see we convinced you to do PUB. It does seem like everyone has done that one lately. It gives me DOMS for real. Love that workout.

Natty--You do some fun things with Bella. She is such a lucky little girl. Skateboard park sounds like a fun place to climb and let off some energy. I have not been a SAHM. I work 11 months now but I use to work 10 months and when i did I would do awesome things with my boys during the summer months when they were younger. I would hang out with another educator who had kids same age as my boys and we would do stuff together at least 2 days a week and the boys and I would hang out on our own the other days. Parks, zoos, amusement parks, water parks, pools, nature centers, movies, library shows, you name it-----we did it.

Today's workout was STS disc 1 for chest, shoulders and biceps. I realized that I have been only working out about 3 days a week the last few weeks and that means I have cut down on my strength training and leg workouts and I can't do that. Those are the things that really make a difference in how my body looks (along with eating better of course). After tonight I have 2 more classes and I plan to really focus on staying on track and getting back to my 5 days a week. My shoulders were stronger than i expected today, but my chest was what I expected----all those darn push ups. I did what I could and skipped when I needed too.

Good morning everyone :)

Saturday was my last workout: HE Interval Circuits. Yesterday we helped a friend move (yuck!). My entire last week was kinda thrown off by having to cram in 6 days of workouts onto 4. Hopefully this week I can get back on track with the rotation I set up.

Heartymax
Thank you for the compliment w/Bella. I love to just go outside and have her do fun things. It's important that she adapt to an active lifestyle early on. Even when we're inside, I put on Rihanna or Usher and we dance together . It's pretty funny, but it gets us up and moving :).

Toni
Hope your cold is feeling better.
OMG on the 16 jack push-ups!!! That's awesome!!
I thought doing Crossfire with the blue band would be harder, but it's not that far off from the green or pink. Yup, those Air Jack are insane .

Jennifer
Your helicopter lessons sounded super fun! I'm so glad you guys had a good time :). I love that you and Craig do all these cool, fun things! My heart was in travel and hopefully I can resume that again.
I hope you get some X-DOMS from Butt Bible L3 .
My LB was ok during HE. The step-ups were a bit hard, but I was ok with the plyo :D.
I hope your wrist gloves work out well!

Have a good one ladies!

Happy Monday...or not :) Today was my first HC workout. Not too bad, not too good. I was weak every place that I thought I would be and strong every place I thought I would be. Hip flexor strength is a problem, but oblique strength was a plus. Upper back and shoulder strength is definately limiting the core work. Talk about burn  I did what I could do and I'm sure that will get better each week. My middle back got a log of work, which I've never had happen before. I'm thinking that has to be a good thing. All in all I definately liked it and am looking forward to doing three months with these workouts(2x a week).

This one also prompted me to go ahead and buy a 5lb body bar. I won't be able to use anything heavier than that right now, and I was able to get it for $21(including shipping) from Walmart.com. Which is about what I wanted to pay for it. I haven't bought body bars because they are expensive. But I can handle $20 and I don't see me needing any others.

Tasha - you are probably right about there not being much difference between the color of the bands. With that said, what I think I will do is keep the blue band and SKIP the air jacks...hehe. Honestly, I don't really have the flexibility to take my legs very wide without the band and adding the band seems to be making me compromise my form and land funny. My hip is a little out of whack still today. So I think I will just do plyo jacks or those jacks where you just go out and in like in one of the later sections. I think either of those would work.

Jennifer - my wrists were fine with HC. However, I always wear a wrist wrap when I'm doing any type of lifting or plank work. I have a $5 set I bought from Walmart that work nicely. However, they don't help when I have to take my wrist to an angle. That always still hurts and I avoid those moves. In one of the later Volumes of HC she does a walking plank onto and across the step. I will not do that. I will just go up on the step keeping my wrists straight and then back down again, which is one of the modifications she shows. I don't know how heavy your barbell is, but mine is 15lbs. There is no way I was doing that move where she raises her arms with a 15lbs bar. I used 3lbs dumbells and that was a challenge!! So I think the 5lb body bar will be fine for now.

Hello ladies!
Yesterday I did L3 Bible Butt - I repeat all of what Tasha has said!
My thighs were on fire - and I loved every minute of it. Pauline said something like If you want to quit then don't - just think about something else and just forget about it; what do you want your buns to look like? you gotta make it happen; I swear she said it at the exact right moment because I was just about to take a breather (but I didn't). She's funny because she will stop working while the other 2 are still going and she says to them it sucks I know but keep going"
I enjoy her talking because it helps distract me from the burning!

This morning I did Imax3! I have never been able to get past the first or 2nd combo because of the complex choreography - I am glad I finally got over that because it's really not that confusing once I got the hang of it. I didn't nail every single combo every single time but I was very close and by the end of the workout I felt great... great cardio and happy that I finally got the hang of that one. I love it! I like the music, too. It's been a while since I've done Imax2 but I think that Im2 is a bit harder (cardio-wise) than Im3. I will have to do Imax2 in a couple days and see if I still think that or not.

Toni, that's fantastic! So glad to hear about your success with HC!
Also, I'm glad you were able to get over your cold quickly:)

Heartymax, what a good feeling to be ahead of schedule on a due date:) now THAT's the way to work (Catheism):D

Way to go on the strong shoulders! Two more classes and you're back to tons of pushups:D

Stacie, I forgot to mention before, I am not a Sams member but I am a Costo member; I don't remember seeing any sports bras but in the future I will check them out. They had some good exercise capris during the summer! They are decent and were priced well:)

Tasha, how is your body feeling after helping your friend move, and your Hardcore Extreme?

By the way, realized that I do have MIC; it's on the Rhythmic Step DVD with the original Imax; I like the original Imax, but I don't remember doing MIC. I love how you do the ones under the radar that are intense. Now that I know I can do Imax3 I will have to try Rhythmic step again, too.

Have a great day, ladies!

Good morning everyone! It was a whirlwind of a weekend again! I didn't workout Friday night but I did RF: Fight Conditioning on Saturday. I most of the sprawls the advanced way and I must say they definitely make the workout soooo much harder. Towards the end my knee was starting to really bother me so I left them out of the last combo. I was still pretty sore from the workouts from Thursday and Friday. Working out made us skip karate class but we did go around and try to sell some cub scout popcorn. We went to this neighborhood where the houses start at 1million dollars and guess how much popcorn we sold after an hour and half? $10 worth. It was not a fun experience at all. Saturday afternoon, my mom came up and we did some shopping followed by the circus. The circus is so awesome! This is a our second time going and it was just as amazing as the first time. My mom really enjoyed it too. Sunday was more time with my mom but no workout. Sigh...it's Monday and I am already one day behind!

This morning was more chaotic than usual. I woke up early intending to workout but I was sooooo tired. I had stayed up late last night balancing the checkbook since the rent is due today. I lost track of time in the shower and Tyler was late to school AGAIN. I also had to go back home 3 times because I would head off to work and remember I had forgotten something else. Thank goodness I have flex time! I was 45 minutes later to work than I had intended to be.

I did get some good news. I went to check my nephew's Facebook page to ask his recruiter about his address and I guess the recruiter had posted it on the 26th! That really made me mad since I had set up Facebook to notify me if anything changed on his page. Curse you Facebook! At least I have his address now. I have a letter all ready to go but of course I have no envelopes here at work. I am going to leave here early, rush home to grab an envelope, and then head over the post office so I can get it mailed to day. Poor kid probably thinks no one cares about him...

Jennifer
The helicopter lessons sound like so much fun. I am glad you had a good time doing it! I did buy some of the capris at Costco...the Addias ones. Those are the ones that always want to slide down for some reason. The look great but I am constantly pulling them up! I don't think the sports bars are sold at Costco...what a bummer too! They are awesome.

Toni
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know a couple of people who have caught colds recently.

Thanks for the info about HC. I too hate when you can't do an exercise fully because of a weakness in another body part. I felt that way with the barbell rows. I know I can do higher but my forearms give out too soon.

Good tip on the wrist straps as well. I will have to remember that the next time I am at Walmart.

Heartymax
No worries about the pushups...you will be back to your usual set in no time!

Natasha
HE is...well...extreme! Great job on knocking it out. Breakfast without a kid sounds wonderful! I am glad you and the hubby got to have some alone time.

That's really funny about the dancing. My son and I used do that all the time. He was riot though. He liked to climb up on the computer chair or sofa and dance. It was like he was a little go go dancer! He still dances and sings to music. I bet Bella looks adorable dancing!

The BH workout will be my first experience with him. The reviews of his KB workouts are not so good though. I want to get some of the ones Colleen recommended but they are pretty pricey. I got distracted by my mom's visit on Saturday and forgot to bid on a Paul Katami one I saw on ebay!

Lol...I just realized I put a lot of angry faces in this post. See what happens when I skip a workout? Have a nice day everyone!

Wow! Everyone is having fun with new workouts. HC and Butt Bible sound like they are hitting some trouble zone spots.:D

Jennifer---helicopter lessons. You are so adventurous. How do you find time to do all this stuff.

Toni---is there a website for HC? I would like to at least check it out. I can't remember what HC stand for either.

Stacie---glad your nephew made it safely and you got the address so you can stay in contact with him. My nephew is in the navy and when he first left I would mail him little packages with girl scout cookies and other goodies some times.

Natty---you are doing a good job hanging in their with your rotation. I am just trying to get back to getting in my 5 workouts. I have been so busy lately. I am so determined that this will be a better week.

This morning was Rhythmic Step----great music and great workout.

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday's w/o was Low Max. This is my 2nd time doing it and I'm in love . At one point my legs were shaking and Cathe asks "how are your legs doing??". I laughed out loud at that part! How she manages to say the right things at the right time just astonishes me!

For today's w/o I will try to go back to my rotation with STS Legs W4. If I'm short on time, I will do Butt Bible instead :D.

Heartymax

I'm so glad I can step now so I can enjoy classics like Rhythmic Step. I love the music too!
How is your eye BTW???

Stacie

Your selling popcorn experience reminds me of all my Halloween ones. The million dollar homes were stingy with the candy giving very little and crappy kinds (yup, the caramel crap), whereas the modest neighborhoods gave out more and better ones. Go figure .
The circus sounds like so much fun! Gotta put in on my list of stuff to do.
It's so nice of you to send letters to your nephew. I'm sure he will appreciate that.

Jennifer

How is your DOMS today?? I know, Pauline is SO funny! At first I thought she was a bit cheesy, but then I started liking her comments.
WTG on Imax3 and sticking with it!!! Step totally rules!! Nope, I would have to disagree about Imax2, I definitely think Imax3 is WAY tougher! Imax2 has that long 1min break in the middle and overall the recovery periods are longer. My HR fully recovers -- a little too much actually .

Toni
I remember when Colleen started out with HC. She has tremendously improved, rants and raves about her core and UB strength. She went from doing 5 push-ups to 20 -- and she does not even practice push-ups weekly!!! Talk about results!

Have a great day ladies!

Hola!

I was thisclose to trying Rhythmic step this morning, Heartymax! Instead I went with a couple workouts that I've not done before; they are from Cross Train Xpress. I did All Step (about 30 min) and then did the 10-10-10 (about 30 min). I enjoyed them both. Not total butt kickers but they got the heart pumping and the sweat dripping. I would have been completely lost on some of the step combos in both of them if I had tried them last year but I didn't have much trouble at all; I can't believe I finally feel like I can handle dance-y stuff now, and it is fun:D

I have to stay away from pushups for at least a few more days. I went to the chiropractor yesterday (maintenance; I'm almost ready to submit the bill to the car wreck claim) and I mentioned to him my shoulder pain that went into my biceps and through my shoulder blade, and that it seemed like my sternum was popping sometimes (along with my shoulder popping). He said it sounds like my bursa is inflamed and ice and rest my upper body for a few more days; he thought it was from pushups. Having said that already told Brenda that I won't be at the gym tonight. So gentle yoga, here I come!

Stacie, so glad your nephew arrived safely! He sure will be glad to get a letter from home so quickly! Surely he knows you care especially since you arranged your schedule to hang out with him before he left:)

Sounds like a great weekend, Fight Conditioning and the Circus, and all that walking to sell popcorn! It is too bad that the rich neighborhoods weren't very generous:(

The Costco brand is Kirkland, and those are the fitness capris that I have. They don't slide down at all so if you ever get the chance to check them out you might want to give them a try. I have a pair of Champion ones and they don't stay pulled up, either... I don't enjoy wearing them. They are the semi-fitted ones and I think that made the difference.

Tasha, too funny that your legs were shaking when Cathe asked how your legs were doing! I can relate to that! Low Max is one of my favorites:)

I wonder if Im3 is easier for me because I'm concentrating on the combos more than concentrating on power... in Im2 I don't need to think about the combos, only the power. I bet that's why.

My legs/buns are doing okay; I've been stretching extra and because my shoulder is bothering me I've been taking ibuprofen... therefore I'm certain that's why I'm not having trouble sitting or standing! LOL!

Enjoy STS or BB, either one will serve it's purpose:)

Heartymax, I saw that you asked Toni about HC; just in case I have time to post before her... it is Horizontal Conditioning by Sandra Koulourides, M.S., R.D. (Founder of Fuel + Fitness & Horizontal Conditioning). Horizontal Conditioning.

Craig booked our helicopter flight through a Living Social deal, and it is an early birthday present for me (which is on the 16th). I see a winery trip in my future, too :) Time isn't really an issue for us because we don't have children to tend to... dogs are like children but they don't require laundry or home-cooked meals:)

Ladies, have an awesome day!

Good morning ladies! Last night's workout was RF: Fight Conditioning. The planned rotation is getting harder this week and the throughout the rest of the program. I am getting better at the sprawls but I did slow them down a bit. I wanted to make sure my form is good so that they don't hurt my knees.

Heartymax
I thought about sending him small things but I don't think he can have them in boot camp.

Natasha
HC really improved Colleen's pushups that much? Maybe I need to bump those workouts up on my wish list. I still struggle to do a ton of them. I don't even know how many Rushfit has since they are scattered throughout the program.

The wealthy neighborhoods can be extremely hard up and very stingy. I think tomorrow we will go out again and try to make some sales. I really hate this door to door stuff. Thank goodness it's only once a year!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday's w/o was STS Legs W4. For those not familiar, there is a bonus section at the end which uses the stability ball for leg lifts, hammie roll-in's, frog-style roll-in's, glute squeezes, and inner thigh catches with the ball (I'm love with that section btw). I'm so bad at floor work, and yet I'm oddly drawn to the burn, pain & tears that come with :p. I pushed hard, completing all but 2 one-legged hamstring roll-in's. DOMS today :D:D.

Stacie
Hey, did you end up getting Body Beast?
Yes, Colleen mentioned her count the other day. I remember when she started the check-in with us, that she was not very good at push-ups. Now she's knocking 20!!!
What are the sprawls again??

Jennifer
Yay for you liking dancey step now!!! I'm so proud of ya!! I know how easy it is to say "screw this", but you kept on it. I always say, if you really want to accomplish something, you can.
I'm SO sorry about your shoulder :(. Remember when Susan hurt her shoulder and she thought it might be because if the push-ups too. I wish you a speedy recovery :). OMG you are such a trooper through everything. Can I call you my hero? ;)

Have a good one!

Good morning all! No workout yesterday...I am realizing that Mondays and Tuesdays are just crazy days. Next time I build a rotation, I think I will make Tuesday a scheduled rest day since it winds up being one most of the time anyway. Of course though, Tyler's karate schedule will change again in two weeks since they are testing for new belt levels the end of next week.

Jennifer
I had looked into the Kirklands pants at the same time I bought the Addias ones. I thought the Addias ones looked a little nicer. If I had known that the kirklands were more functional, I would have totally gotten those instead. Now I have some workout pants that look great on but I can't really use to workout in! LOL. Oh well, hopefully they will be back next year. I am hoping they bring the Levis back soon as well.

That is too bad about your shoulders! Tasha is right about poor Susan. I think that's why she left the check in. Hopefully, it will heal quickly for you.

Natasha
No Body Beast yet! I found out that the teambeachbody site I had found with the 10% discount (teambeachbody.com) only allowed the discount if you were a premium member. The cost for the premium membership is like $3 a week since would quickly eat up any discount. Oh well...I guess I will have to keep saving!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi there, and happy Wednesday evening!

I gave myself a rest day today but plan to hit it hard tomorrow... maybe cycle max - it's been a while since I've done that one.

Tasha, your leg workout sounds awesome! Enjoy your DOMS!

Tasha and Stacie, I do remember what happened with Susan's shoulder and honestly she is who I first thought of when the chiro mentioned it!

I try to be a trooper and I am thankful for the body parts that do work but frankly, I am a bit pissed:( Sorry, I don't mean to be a bummer - and I don't want to complain because things could always be worse.

I know that ignoring the issue will make things worse and I don't want it to get worse.

I'm going to keep resting my upper body and icing the shoulder at night and in the morning while I'm having my coffee. It's the right shoulder, btw, so at least it's not both:D

In the meantime I plan to kick some cardio butt (but not with the arm movements) and keep up with my lower body work... NO WAY am I going to let my butt lose strength:D

Stacie, That's a good plan - making Tuesday a rest day since it's so busy.

Is Tyler excited about his upcoming belt test?

I hope you all remember to stretch and drink water! Toodles!
