Push It

Good morning everyone :)

Yesterday I went for a 4 mile walk. That was my workout :D.

Today will be Turbo Barre and Sunday I have decided to do Crossfire .

Jennifer
I'm sorry your classes did not go well :(.
TBT LB + S&G!! OMG I think you are gonna feel it bad...I mean good ;). Let me know if you find that add-on. You know what, it could just be part of the LB premix.

Toni
Great job on Afterburn! Colleen does that workout about 1X/week and loves it! BTW, I hope you like the HC workouts :).
With regards to TTM & CF, I'm not really sure which one I find harder. TTM has that hiit 30/20, which is very tough. Hmmm...maybe for me Crossfire is harder . Bottom line: if you can do TTM, you will have no problem with CF. I think CF may have more Tabata's, and that firewalker one is pretty awesome actually. Oh heck, just get it ;).

Stacie
I'm also a little disappointed you can't just load the premixes with downloads :(.
The one drawback of the Supreme 90-Day's is that you have to do your own counts for the reps during the weight work . All those stupid exercisers go at their own pace and some of them go super speed and compromise form. It can get very irritating. Although I love the cardio workouts from that series, and I like Tom Holland. I also like that his weight work is straight forward and effective. He only uses dumbbell's and a stability ball. In ways he reminds me of Cathe, which is why the workouts don't collect dust on my shelf.
BTW, the story about your nephew was very touching.

Heartymax
I hope you are doing well today :)

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Good Sunday morning to you!

Yesterday, as planned, I did the cardio portion of S&G and followed it with LB Trisets, the premix LB - JFO (I think those were the initials). Does anyone know what that even means?

I thought it might have been the add-on that Tasha talked about but it started out like the regular LB workout so I went with it. What I noticed was that the one-legged squats were not in it (darn the luck!). The length of the workout seemed to be the same. I'll have to do the regular premix again to see if I can figure out what else is different; there definitely were some edits, I could tell by the few pauses that happened during the workout.

I received the Horizontal Conditioning workout yesterday so I will do that today; I'll let you know how that goes. I ordered it Wednesday so shipping was really fast. I didn't check to see where it shipped from, though.

I haven't decided if I'm going to Zumba today or not; it's been 2 weeks... the one Sunday I had to prepare for my dad's visit (cleaning and such), then my friend emailed me and told me the next week was cancelled - the instructors were having the RIPPED class training.

Last night I made Shake N Bake chicken (and steamed broccoli); I added garlic powder and chili powder to the shake mix before shaking the chicken - it turned out vary tasty!

Have an awesome day, everyone!

Happy Sunday :)

Yesterday Bella got her 3rd haircut...yes you read that right. She didn't start to get hair until 1yrs old, and by the time she was 2yrs old she still really didn't have much hair. We take her to a kids hair salon called Melon Heads. It's quite the kiddie experience. They get to sit in little cool chairs like one of a car, train, horse, ect. There is a waiting area w/toys, they put hair glitter and pretty clips on the hair once it's done and give them a little candy at the end. If it's baby's first hair cut (which for me it was Toddler) they clip a piece of hair onto a little certificate. Very Cute :).

I made a stride in Turbo Barre yesterday. I upped my weights from 5lbs to 6lbs for everything except tri's, which I went from 3lbs to 4lbs. As for the leg drills, I am getting better taking less breaks and lifting my leg higher without dropping. I get really frustrated with it because it's taken me SO long to advance even a little bit with that. And for me, it's not so much the working leg but the supporting leg that gives out. Is that the case with you guys?

Please give me your opinions/thoughts on the following:
Maximum Intensity Strength
Power Hour
Push/Pull
Supersets
*I wanted to get 1 or 2 for my next rotation*

Jennifer
How coincidental that I'm making Shake N' Bake with cod today :). I also spice up my breading if it's the original kind :).
JFO = Just F**k Off -- Just kidding!! Joint Friendly Option :D. You know, I am somewhat confused about my downloads and the add-on files. It's hard to explain to people who only have DVD's. With TBT, I have 3 files: Upper Body, Lower Body, and LB add-on with those back lunges. If I want to do LB, I have to do the entire file as is (no premixes unless I make them). As I recall, there are NO back lunges in the original LB workout. Did you do those?
Let me know how you like the HC!!!

Have a good one ladies!

Hello. Today was TTM. Again this week felt better than last week. I wanted to add a little intensity today, so I added more arm patterns to the 30/20 and I added the firewalker loop to the first set of exercises on 30/20. The firewalker wasn't that bad, but I didn't wear it for the second set because I simply could not catch my breath fast enough to put it on properly and still be ready on time for the next set. I opted to just rest and start on time. I didn't want to take any rest since I'm on a roll with that :) I really need to increase my step height for Tabata. Everytime Cathe says 'If this is too easy you need to increase your step height' I feel very guilty  I won't say it's easy, but I think I could certainly challenge myself more with that section.

Well I'm now the proud owner of HC AND CF  I also ordered Cathe's firewalker bands. I have two from my Aslym workout, but I can't remember which color is the easiest and I can't relate that to what Cathe is doing so I wanted hers. I need to figure out a rotation that works with the HC workouts though. I'm thinking I will do TB for lower/upper body, CF, and KickMax. I'm starting to adjust to the 5 day a week schedule. I still feel a little lazy on that extra rest day, but I do feel like I need the rest. When I was doing six very intense workouts a week my body was really dragging by day 5. Now I do three intense, rest one, and finish strong with intense workouts and I feel much better physcially. Besides that, any real change I want to make in terms of fat loose will come from my eating so it really doesn't make sense to kill myself that extra day.

Oh....almost forgot. Yesterday was Brandon's 12th birthday :D I had his party at a place called Fun-N-Stuff. They have EVERYTHING. Rock climbing, bumper cars, go cars, skating rink, video games, paddle boats, laser tag, and more. The boys loved it!! And it was sooooo EASY!! Call for reservation, show up, watch boys run around for 4 hours, pay money, go home!! I had to do NOTHING and it was a smashing success with my son. I say money well spent!!

Jennifer - Please do let us now how HC goes!! I'm extremely excited about it. I'm hoping it's also going to give me a different type of strength in my upper body that helps with my pushups. At times I just feel like all my supporting muscles are not strong enough, which makes my chest have to work that much harder. If I could get more balanced upper body strength, it seems like it would be easier. Oh....thanks for the modification suggestions for AB. I think some of those will work nicely for me.

Tasha - The kids hair salon sounds super cute. It reminds me of a place where Jasmine had one of her BDay parties one year. I bet your salon has the same birthday packages(enabling here!!). They are super cute parties for the girls. I just kept hearing from the girls....this is THE BEST party ever. It was one of my favorite parties.

Please tell me more about the TB upper body section. Do you feel like it's an endurance workout for the upper body? It seems like it might be, which is why I wanted to put that in with the HC workouts. It seems to fit the theme of the rotation.

I have push/pull and supersets. I'm currently doing supersets now. I love it. It's slow enough to go heavier if you choose. I also like that the abs are mixed throughout the workout. Sometimes I'm so tired at the end of a workout that I don't put as much into the ab section as I should. With supersets, I can give it my all during the course of the workout. I have actually not done push/pull yet, but I"ve watched it and I like the concept. I also like the shoulder work in that one. The moves look very functional to me. I have no idea why I haven't done that one. Probably cause I'm a circuit junkie :)

Hello Stacie and HeartyMax :D

Jennifer and Toni----I see you exercised your credit card and got HC. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Natty---I have only attempted Crossfire once. I need to get up the nerve again. It was tough----but fun.

No workouts the last few days. On Friday I experienced a problem with one of my eyes and had to make an appointment to see the opthamologist. I had an eye ache when I woke up and my eye later got very red. Later that day, I experienced extreme sensitivity to sunlight so I knew there was a problem. I was diagnosed with uveitis and have currently started a series of drops for a month. The cause is unknown but if it continues they will run additional tests. One of my friends had the same problem that started a couple of years ago and hers is autoimmune related but they have not pinpoint it to any specific. I am glad I went right to the doctor as I am trying to prevent any type of vision loss. I hope it gets better soon.

I spend time trying to exercise and eat well so I can manage my health and now this. ::(

I'm back! This morning was another workout to test my cardio endurance---AFTER BURN!!! I definitely not where I used to be. I had a hard time getting through those sliding plank push ups. I did half of the first set and then 10 regular push ups for the 2nd set. I guess being able to do 10 push ups at the end of afterburn is an accomplishment itself:D.

I have class tonight and was able to finish up the first part of my next project.

Have a great day ladies!

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday I did Crossfire . Holy cow, it is REALLY tough! I think I did it fully through (no premixes) only one time before. I'm going to be completely honest again, but I really wish Cathe did not do so much repetition in her tough cardio :(. Even repeating the moves 2X gives me dread. I never modify any moves, and I'm going full steam for each exercise, so it's not so much the physical aspect (well maybe a little ;)), but a mental one. Call me bratty, whiny, whatever, but that's my personal preference and I know there are others just like me (as per the thread in OD). I'm really not a freak of nature . Regardless, I do like Crossfire and it does a wonderful job at conditioning my heart and slashing megs cals. Those Tabata's are my favorites!

Today w/o will be a billion loads of laundry and Yoga later.

Toni
Yes, the UB portion of Turbo Barre is all high reps/low weights. Cathe uses 5lbs throughout and man you burn like heck!!! I was proud I did the whole thing with 6lbs (except for tri's) cuz' I know how killer it is!
The Step Tabata from TTM is easy enough to raise your step height. I mentioned the exact same thing you did a few posts back. I ended up raising my step height cuz' I just felt guilty too.
Happy birthday to Brandon!! I've been to a few of those similar parties where you go to a play center, watch the kids go bat crazy, and go home. Good stuff and worth the money I'm sure! B-day parties can be very stressful at home.
You are right about the 5X workout days/week. I do that plus 1 day of Yoga (which I don't really count as an extra workout day) and I feel better.
Thank you for the reviews on the workouts. They look like something I would enjoy :).

Heartymax
I'm so sorry to hear about your eye :(. I'm sure it is nothing serious and you will continue to get better. With today's medical advances, I would *try* to think positively. AND DON'T READ THE INTERNET!!! EVIL EVIL!!!!

Have a good day ladies!

Today was SuperSets. I did really well with it. I matched Cathe in most exercises. I choose to go lighter on legs becasue I did TTM yesterday and I didn't want to also kill myself today. I also only used 10lbs for the bicep concentration curls and I STILL couldn't quite get through all of them

Tomorrow is KPC. I'm thinking of doing the entire thing, minus abs. I think I can tolerate all of it this week. I will see how I feel tomorrow.

HeartyMax - sorry to hear about the situation with your eyes. That has to be incredibly distracting in terms of everything you have going on.

Tasha - Thanks for the info on TB. I'm also looking at Muscle Endurance as an option for my total body with HC. We have so many choices!! I'm also going to look at my selection of circuit workouts. I don't want a high impact workout, but when I did Low Impact Circuit last week it seemed a little light in the legs so I don't think I want to do that. I have this week to figure it out.

Jennifer - you are much better than I. Cause if I only have time for a 15 minute workout, I'm totally skipping it. Glad you fit something in!!

Good morning everyone! It was a whirlwind weekend and it seemed to fly by pretty quickly. Friday night we went to the Rockies fireworks game and the Rockies played so badly that the innings took forever!!!! It was brutal to watch...the final score was 5 to 15. The fireworks were great though! Unforuntately we got home about 11:30. I was up until 2:00am cleaning to car since we were carpooling. We had to leave the house on Saturday at 7:30 and drive up the camporee for the cub scouts. After we got back from the camporee, I had to make Tyler dinner, drop him off at my aunt's house, and then head out to my birthday dinner. The dinner was very nice and he paid for everything. I felt very spoiled since he insisted on wine, an appetizer, and dessert! Afterwards, I wound up staying at my aunt's talking to her and my cousin until 1:45am....whew! Exhausted!!!

On Sunday, I did RF: Strength and Endurance. I upped my weights and I am feeling it today. This week the schedule becomes harder and on Thursday I will be doing a new workout Full Stength. I am looking forward to it!

HeartyMax
That's awful about your eyes! Thank goodness you can get drops to clear everything up. I hope you feel better soon.

Jennifer
What a bummer about the class! That would be soooo annoying! I get mad when my son and/or dog get in the way when I am working out so I can imagine how frustrating it would be to have a whole slew of people around!

I love hearing that our home workouts are much harder than the ones in gyms. It makes me feel like I am making the right decision on what I am doing.

Toni
Ha...drop it like it's hot. Isn't that more like the Jersey turnpike? Lol. I need better knees to do some of those moves!

I personally thought Crossfire was harder. I was surprised in the forum when people said TTM was. Everyone is different though.

Natasha
Awww...how cute about the haircut salon. Tyler has only been to one of those salons once. I am hooked on this barber by where we used to live. It's an old school barbershop but he does such a great job with his hair. He spoils him too and gives him soda, candy, and always changes the TV to cartoons.

As for your rotation question, I only remember Power Hour. I have the others but I don't remember if I have done them or not. I remember Power Hour have some good leg work though. I find that I prefer weight workouts that focus on 1-3 body parts only hence the love for STS and Pure Strength.

Thanks for sending me to Colleen. I emailed her and she recommended some good DVDs. She said that kettlebell system I had mentioned to you (the RKS kettlebell system) was one her favorites. It's hard to squeeze in kettlebell stuff right now since I am doing the Rushfit rotation.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi everyone,
Glad to see all is well with everyone (and I know your eye will get better soon, Heartymax!).

I did Step Blast this morning and had a great time with it! I almost did Intensity but changed my mind:D I needed something I wasn't a bit burned out on.

Sunday I did HC (but didn't go to Zumba). I really liked HC but have some issues with it. First, the barbell is not exactly an equivalent sub for the bodybar. The barbell is super hard so when it was across the step and I was doing pushups on it my palms were killing me and I had to stop and do regular pushups. In the future I will not be using the barbell for pushups, and if/when I ever do get a bodybar I do need to figure out which weight to get.

Also, supporting my entire weight on 1 hand as opposed to 2 was a bit much for my wrist (tendonitis sometimes) so I held on to an 8lb eight instead... Turns out that was a bit too much pressure on the palm of my hand because, again, the weight is basically a hard surface. I need to try wrapping a towel around it for padding or something... or get padded gloves. I will figure it out (maybe even break down and get the Stick-E that I've seen people post about).

It was hard to see what Sandra was doing because the setup was a bit strange (I didn't watch it first, my bad) but I'll figure it out:)
Having said all that, I am looking forward to trying it again but this time I will have a backup plan:)

Overall I really did enjoy the workout, and my glutes and legs got a really good workout, too - what a bonus! Of course they were a bit sore already from the previous workouts.

Tahsa, OMGosh, Bella looks like an angel in her dress (I know I'm late to the party about that, sorry). She is SO beautiful!
The hair cut place sounds awesome - lots of fun for the kids! I guess it helps to distract them, too; seems lots of kids cry at hair cuts. The certificate idea is fantastic:)

As for your workout questions: I love Supersets (and Muscle Endurance, the one packaged with Bootcamp), I like push/pull, and if I remember correctly I really liked Power Hour as well. I'm not sure Max Intensity Strength is one of my first picks but I know it got an award in Fitness magazine. It's been quite a while since I've done PH or MIS but frankly I really can't remember if there is a reason or if it just keeps getting moved to the back.

I'm happy for you that you've improved at Turbo Barre, although I can relate that it's frustrating; seems so long for so little improvements, but as you said some is better than none! I also have trouble with my supporting leg (annoying!). Sure, I switch starting sides but still...

I do remember back lunges in the LBTrisets JFO (I cracked up at your hilarious acronym, by the way! LOL!). I can see the advantages of Downloads and DVDs. I will have to look into my home options.

As for Crossfire, I completely understand the repetition/dread factor. I'm just thankful that she only re-does them twice! Three times would really be a bore. Maybe Xtrain will have less repetition:cool:

Oh - as for the quality of the HC DVD... I really don't know what was so bad about it; I didn't think it was cheesy porn at all! The sunlight shining in didn't bother me either, but maybe it was because I was busy trying to figure out what the heck I could do to be more comfortable! LOL!

Cod with Shake N Bake - never thought of it but I bet that would be great!

Toni, What a great time for Brandon and everyone! That was a great idea!

Congrats on your new DVDs! We'll have to compare notes about that HC... what did you think of it?
I need to do it again, as I mentioned, to really get a good feel for it.

It's impressive that you're ready to raise your step height on TTM - Geesh! Be careful, though! Also, let me know how the AB modifications work for you and if you come up with any other variations or ideas:)

Heartymax LOL! Actually I didn't need the credit card because I only bought Volume 1 instead of the entire set:D I'm saving up for some Feel Fit Wear tanks, and I really want another pair of capris and pants!

I am so sorry to hear about your eye:( I've not heard of Uveitis but it is a really good thing that you got to the doctor quickly.

CrossFire is a tough one. I think it's the hardest one yet because I've done CF several times and I still gasp for air! Way to go on your pushups after AB! Tell your eye to "take that!":D

Stacie, Sounds like a fantastic (and very tiring) weekend! I am glad he paid for everything and insisted on a full-meal-deal which of course should include wine:D You absolutely deserve to be treated and spoiled. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself:) Any complaints from the ex or is he MIA?

The game did sound brutal:eek: Still, I just think it's relaxing to go to the ball game and fun with a group.

Way to go on increasing your weights - and feeling it:)

I best get; have an awesome day!

Good morning :)

Yesterday's w/o was a little mix & match :D. The step portion of MIC (30min- OMG HARD!) + JM Shed & Shred (level 1- 30min). I really like Shed & Shred despite the negative reviews. It's a circuit fusion workout that mixes everything from plyo to body weight training, kickbox, boxing, and some cool other martial arts moves (I can't pronounce or spell the name ). This workout is not extremely intense, and Jillian is a bit subdued, not her usual bad-a**-in-your-face. I think that's what throws people off TBH. I wish Jillian would do a weight training only DVD. She always says body weight training is the best way to get in shape, but I doubt she got that body from just doing Yoga .

Have you guys ever heard of Butt Bible on youtube? OMG that chick is hilarious! Apparently her stuff is very effective in such a short amount of time. Check this out:
The Butt Bible Lower Level 2 (full video) - YouTube
The Butt Bible Upper Level 2 - YouTube

Jennifer
I'm glad you liked HC! I understand about needing to modify, especially with your wrist. I get frustrated when I have to do that with my lower back :(. I'm sure you'll still get amazing workouts .
Thank you for the compliment on Bella :). She looks like and angel but at home she can be an absolute terror . I'm not lying I swear!
Thank your for the workout recommendation :).

Stacie
I'm glad your b-day dinner went well :).
Thank you for the workout recommendation. I know you are a fan of Pure Strength :). I will look into it.
Colleen is great! Glad she was helpful to you :).

Toni
Great job on matching Cathe!
I have Muscle Endurance and really like it! Lots of step-ups on the high step, so you either will love or loathe that.

Have a good one ladies!

Hello...today was KPC minus the high impact part. Just a good steady state type cardio. Rest tomorrow.

I feel like my entire day has been thrown off by a phone call this morning. My daughter has a friend at school and her friends mother really wants she and I to be friends. I've shyed away from this for a long time because something about her just doesn't feel right. She seems a bit dramatic and I just don't do drama...at all!! But I went ahead and engaged in the beginnings of a friendship because I felt like I was being judgemental without actually knowing her....mistake!! She is dramatic and worst off....she likes to have pity parties. I also don't do pity parties  And who calls someone at 8am in the morning with drama.....ugh!! I have not had my cup of tea yet...LOL!! Anyway, I'm trying to get on with my day from a mental stand point but I'm having a very difficult time of it. I guess it's just all the stress I have in my life lately. Ok...rant over :)

Tasha - stop adding more workouts for me to try...hehe!!

Jennifer - I LOVE Step Blast. One of my favs. Thanks for the info on HC. Not sure when mine is gonna get here, but I"m excited to try it.

Stacie - glad you had a nice BDay dinner!!

Good morning eveyone! No workout for me because I accidentally fell asleep on the couch. I hate when I do that! I shuffled to bed so stiff and sore afterwards. Tonight I will do a circuit DVD or mix a step DVD with a shorter weight DVD. I haven't decided yet especially since LowMax is calling. LowMax + another 40-60 minutes of weights would make a pretty long workout. We'll see though what happens! Tomorrow I will double up on RF workouts and then be caught up again. Now that I know more about RF, the next time I do a rotation I will not follow theirs to a T. By shuffling around the workouts a little bit, I can throw in a weight or circuit DVD one or twice a week.

Jennifer
Pushups off anything bother my hands/wrists too. I know RF does a version where you hold onto weights and I really dislike it. It's a shame that HC uses the body bar only because they can be pretty pricey. Great concept but still. Thanks for the great information on the workout! They are still on my radar list!

The ex does not know about the birthday dinner. He is MIA again. I haven't heard from him since last Wednesday. I couldn't help but compare the difference between his treatment of me and the man I went out to dinner with on Saturday. The man from Saturday wants to be around me. He talks to me and listens to what I say. When he is around me, he treats me like I am an the only woman in the room. I know he likes me. I wish that our personalities were different though. I keep him at a distance because I know that he would either railroad me all the time or we would fight a lot. It wouldn't be good for either of us. However, I won't lie and say it isn't nice to be around him sometimes because he does make me feel special. The ex didn't not even acknowledge my birthday. He is lost in his own world and seems to struggle to get through each day. He needs to go back to counseling but won't do it. I don't know what to do about him.

Natasha
MIC....whoa....a tough one! I have heard about the bible butt but haven't watched any of the clips. When I read the description, it said it was a workout for Christians which had me thinking wow -- that's different!

Lol...that's funny about the absolute terror comment and Bella. They all go through that stage. My son was in the terrible two's for like 2 or 3 years. There were times we were at stores and I used to think "only one of us is going to make it home alive"! It gets better though -- it really does! People give the people with kids who are throwing fits dirty looks like they are bad parents but the reality is a lot of times its the other way around. The kids are usually throwing the fits because they are trying to push boundaries and get their way and the parents are saying No! Eventually the kids will learn that they can't get their way and then the fits just stop. That's my opinion anyway...

Toni
To have someone who is barely entering into the friend stage call you up first thing in the morning to rant can really mess up your day. I have had friends do that too. A week day morning is the absolute worst time for any drama...it's stressful enough just trying to get everyone out the door! I hope the rest of your day goes better!

Have a great day!

Good evening, ladies!
This morning I went with Athletic Training; it felt really good and I realized it's been a while since the last time I broke out that one.

I wanted some cardio, some weights, and low impact since I *thought* I'd be going to the gym class tonight... however we are getting hit with big storms - torrential down pours, loud thunder booms (as Craig calls it which I think is cute), and some hail so I decided to keep my car safe in the garage and stay home with the family.

I'm not sure a Thunder Coat/Shirt would work for one of our dogs (Dawn); she is inconsolable no matter what we do. We've even put on her winter coat but that hasn't helped. So we drugged her:( If we don't she pants and paces and cries, and her heart races SO fast we fear it's a heart attack waiting to happen. We hate drugging her, though; she gets completely out of it and of course that's hard to see... but at least she's safe and calm.

I plan to go to the gym tomorrow night for the RIPPED class which is fun - and a great workout.

Tomorrow morning I have Upper Body on my menu - High Reps or possibly Pyramid... or maybe Power Hour or Muscle Endurance since Tasha brought it up. Decisions, decisions. This is where a planned rotation would come in very handy.

Tasha, I checked out a bit of the Butt Bible - that is so funny! I stopped at the Poking part:D She sure does have great legs and a super strong booty! All 3 of them looked great! I happen to agree that the hip thrust forward action is a good workout... the Frankenstein lunges forces the hips/butt squeeze and I sure do feel that. Anyway, I want to try that Butt Bible workout to see if it is as hard as it looks like it could be. Have you tried it? By the way, what is MIC - I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out... Maximum Intensity Challenge (?) doesn't sound familiar to me. It sure sounds like you had an awesome JM workout with all the MMA stuff!

I believe you when you say Bella can be a terror! LOL! She is at that terrible-twos stage. Hopefully she will grow out of it really quick! I'm sure you will teach her manners, though;)

Stacie, how disappointing that the ex missed your bday. You have a good attitude about it, but still. Understanding why he is the way he is doesn't make it okay to miss it:mad:

I'm not into Drama, either! So it is too bad that the guy from dinner who treated you right isn't someone you can see yourself being involved with. So many frogs out there! Not that you're out there *looking* but just fyi, I didn't meet Craig until I was 35 (he was 43); neither of us had been married before and were content being single (or, alone by those ages! LOL). We really have different hobbies but our base personality is the same :)

You'll do great with catching up on your workouts this week; sounds like a good plan:)

Toni, Shipping of HC was pretty darn fast! I'm anxious to hear how it goes for you!

I completely understand being caught off guard trying to be friendly but at a distance and then getting caught up in someone's issue... I agree - you certainly have plenty going on right now! I hope you were able to enjoy your tea at some point of the morning and then go on to have a peaceful day:)

Well it's 11:30pm and I still just am not tired; the storm partially is keeping me awake. I better head to the couch for some TV - that usually puts me to sleep. The book I'm reading definitely won't put me to sleep; I did get the Shades of Gray trilogy. Anyway, have a good night, ladies, and a great morning in case it's a while before I can get back online. Toodles!

Hi Ladies! This morning was Cross Fire. Tough workout. I thought I liked TTM better---but each of them has its own funfactor----DID I SAY THAT:eek:

Jennifer--I had a hard time decided on my workout for this morning. I looked at High Reps, Power Hour, PUB, Muscle Max and after 5 minutes I finally chose Cross Fire for a little extra cardio boost. The joy of having so many workouts.

Tasha--Oh my---on being open to the friendship. I can understand you not wanting to be judgemental. I have lived by a few beliefs when dealing with my own friends and I will tell you this story. My girlsfriends and I had kids around the same time. Of course--we use to always invite each other kids to the birthday parties. As our kids got older, I learn to realize that just because we are friends doesn't mean that our kids are friends so I stopped the bday party thing. My girlfriends and I get together for dinner sometimes also and we sometimes invite friends from outside our circle. I have also learned that just because we are friends doesn't mean that we are going to like each other friends. As an adult,I can choose my friends and I want to teach my children the same thing. It is okay to be nice to this lady---but don't stress yourself out trying to deal with her overdramatic personality. Being kind and cordial doesn't have to make you all chummy and buddies.

Natty--I have heard of the Butt Bible but I can't remember where or if I saw a video or someone talking about it. I have to check it out when I have more time.

Stacie ---enjoy your male company! It is nice to feel special. :D

Hello everyone :)

I found THE BEST short upper body workout Cathe has ever produced!! (well, from the ones I owe). The original Body Max upper body section! The workout clocks-in at about 25min (sans abs & cool down). I was a nut bag and decided to tack-on the upper body portion from BM2 . I was just too darn spent after Body Max, that I had nothing left in me to continue. I am DOMS'ing HARD today! Seriously guys, you HAVE TO try it out! Another hidden gem within Cathe's older masterpieces.

I want to try Butt Bible today, but I don't know if I can get over Paula Nordine's cheesy comments. She is very pretty and has a rock solid body, I just don't know if I'm going to click with her. We'll see...

Ohhh Crossfire . I swear a lot during it :D.

Jennifer
So sad about your doggie being afraid of the the thunder :(. My cats run and hide too.
I'm glad you liked the Ripped classes! If I lived in British Columbia I was so go to Jari Love's classes!
MIC= Maximum Intensity Cardio. OMG the step portion is really HARD! I'm saying that you so know it must be . Very basic, athletic-style moves. Almost a bit boring :)o) but oh man does it make you sweat!

Toni
Ugghh, I hate drama too! It's so hard for me to make friends with women solely based on that. And don't get me started on Pity Parties!!! Awhile back I ended a friendship with a girl who did that every.damn.day. I just couldn't endure much more of the torture. Anyway, I'm sorry you have to go through that. I hate to say this, but people like that don't change. You don't need negativity in your life along with more added stress.

Stacie
Thank you for the comforting words about Bella. I know things will get better and every parent goes through that stage. I wake up in the mornings dreading my days, and I hate to feel that way, but it is what it is. I get no relief, and it's hard, but becoming a parent you are forced to take the good, bad and ugly.
LOL, Butt Bible for Christians! You are too funny!
I really love LowMax. It works the legs sooo well :D.

Have a great day ladies!

Ugghh...I had a whole reponse written up and for some reason the Cathe site logged me out. Grr... Anyway, last night was a bummer night. I tried to make a super healthy dinner by using spaghetti squash instead of spaghetti noodles for spaghetti. It did not go well. Tyler hated it and insisted on regular noodles (well...regular for us...I have been slipping him whole wheat noodles for years now). I ate the squash but I either ate too much or the squash simply didn't agree with me. I was up most of the time with horrible stomach pains. I did not workout which means I am now two days off from my rotation.

Jennifer
I think you are doing the right thing by medicating the dog if she gets that upset. I know it's hard and you probably feel a little bit like a traitor (I always do when I do something to my dog that's for his own good) but it really sounds like it's best for her if she gets that stressed out.

Thanks for the words of encouragement about single! I like the peacefulness of being single but it does get lonely sometimes. It could be the season too. I read an article some time ago that people actually crave a relationship more in the fall because our genes tell us that in the cold weather it's better to have more people around as a survival tactic. It was an interesting article.

So good to hear from you! Great job on CF...I only did part of it and was left a crumpled heap on the floor afterwards. Those tabatas are super tough!

Natasha
I was looking at the weight worksheets last night and noticed that Power Hour doesn't have a single step up like I thought it did...lol. I think I was thinking of Muscle Endurance. Which one did you wind up choosing for the rotation?

That would not be fun to wake with dread every day. I know how that feels. I used to dread the reports from the daycares about Tyler. It's a worrisome and horrible feeling. Do you think maybe you can put her in preschool for a couple of hours a week just to get a break? Sometimes the YMCA has good rates on programs for toddlers...Canada has Y's right?

Have a great day everyone!

Hey everybody....I actually did.....YOGA!! I'm really NOT a yoga person. I usually consider it too slow and boring. But with all that I've got going on right now, I felt something slow was just what I needed. Besides that I typically care a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and with the DOMs I've had from the workouts it's been really uncomfortable. I really need to stretch my body out and relax so I feel some release in my muscles. Plus it's nice not to be trying to reach some goal with every workout I'm doing.

The DVD I did was a YogaWorks DVD...beginner level. Something I have had for YEARS and never did :) I could do every move, but I'm a bit stiffer in some areas than usual. I have been neglecting my stretches yesterday. When I previewed the video, I thought it was going to feel slow and boring. But it actually moved quick and before I knew it I was done :) I may even do it twice a week. I can see me needing another one soon though, I'd like to do a few more balance moves. This one only has the tree pose, which was pretty pathetic today...hehe.

Jennifer - I just previewed AT this morning. I haven't done that one in forever and I have no idea way. I love the way it looked when I was watching it and from what I remember of doing it.

HeartyMax - My CF gets here today..yippee. I won't do it until Sunday though. But I will be previewing tonight to see exactly what I have gotten myself into!!

Stacie - What is spaghetti squash?

Tasha - Let us know how Bible Butt goes if you decide to do it. There are some instructors I also can't do. Denise Austin is on the verge for me. Can you say corny. I will do her weight workouts, but there is no way I will watch her do cardio let alone follow her doing it!!

Hi!
This morning I went with the 'ol Power Hour; not just upper body. It was a great workout:)

I'm going to the gym to do the Ripped class with my friend Brenda.

Tash, Dogs (and kids) - we can only do what we can do, and do our best at it.

I can't believe I don't have Maximum Intensity Cardio but I don't recall it at all so I must not have it. I must fix that, especially since it kicked your butt! Geesh!

Also, thanks for the great tip about Body Max UB section. So glad you enjoyed it! I have Body Max; tried it once and just couldn't deal with it; bored me to tears I guess... but if I left out the cardio and only did the UB section that would definitely be more interesting!

Heartymax, You crack me up - had all kinds of upper body workouts on your mind and then WHAMO - went with cardio:D But not just any cardio, it was CF:eek: I bet it felt great:)

I agree - being cordial and nice simply to get along is important; it doesn't have to be any more than that. Craig's friend's wife is, well, just not my type... but yet I have to get along with her. At least she finally has realized that she needs to get along with me, too.

Toni, it's awesome that you did some yoga and enjoyed it! Good for you for taking initiative about your tight/sore muscles:)
I love AT, and my hamstrings are feeling it... they always do after AT!

Stacie, Grrr is right - it's very annoying to lose all those thoughts typed into words!

Very sorry to hear about the spaghetti squash. I wonder what it could have been?! I've only had it once and it was a long time ago... I remember thinking it was a lot of work to cook and scrape out the insides. Glad you've gotten your son on whole wheat pasta, though:)

Alright, I'm heading out. OH - Feel Fit Wear is having a Sale, although it still is costly, but either way: If you buy 2 sports bras (regular-priced ones) you get a 3rd for 50% off. I love them; comfortable and supportive but not too squishy. As a 36B; others who are larger have mentioned a bit of disappointment in the supportive department and they have to wear one of their Tanks over it (the tanks are really compressed but very comfortable).

I am not trying to enable anyone - honest - just sayin' that if your bras are getting old and you want to replenish your stack now might be a good time. The sale is only good through October 1st... I hate that - such a short amount of time.

Toodles!

Just a quickie post...

I just finished Level 3 of Butt Bible :eek::eek:. Ok, have I not been doing Cathe workouts for almost 2 years now? I felt like a wimp, this workout kicked my butt (literally LOL). This chick, Pauline, just kills you with reps. KILLS. Think of the most horrid leg/glute exercises (step ups, one legged butt bridges, elevated lunges), add 100+ reps for each leg exercise, and viola! You have this workout vid. I think I was also being a little too cocky using a 25lbs barbell. Did I mention it's a high, high, high rep workout? I don't think the body-bar she uses is 25lbs . Anyway, I'm sore -- it's only been 2hrs. Jennifer, this workout is screaming your name!

I will BB tomorrow to give personals! Have a good night all :)
