Push It

Good morning everyone! Last night I did RF: Abdominal Stength & Core Conditioning. It was a good workout. I went light on the weights I used because I had worked out in the morning. Some of the the exercises were really hard because my legs were already sore from the morning workout. My abs were not sore at all. They did this crazy move that was straight from the Exorcist. You know that scene where she is walking down the stairs upside like a spider? That's the move they were doing! I couldn't do it at all. I think Cathe's core stuff is harder but I definitely sweated more during this workout. Next time I will try it with higher weights and really give it my
all.

I am getting really excited about Xtrain! I asked in the forum if they are going to set up the weight workouts for Xtrain in the workout manager like they did for STS (where is shows the 1RM values, the weight you should use, the number of reps to do, and the actual values done) and they said they were! That alone makes me super excited! I tried to do that with all of Cathe's weight workouts but there is a bug in the workout manager where it only uses the 1RM values for 10 exercises. After that, it stops calculating them and it doesn't update the values if the 1RM changes. It was a total bummer. I logged a bug about it but never got a response.

Jennifer
RF's version of a popup is where you get down on your knees and then jump straight up to you feet. It looked really hard but wasn't so bad. One nice thing about this program is that they give you tons of modifications. I like that. It's easy to keep it pretty low impact.

I don't believe that you actually have saddlebags -- if you do, I would be willing to venture that they are probably really really really small and probably most people wouldn't even notice them at all. None of us have perfect bodies -- not even the movie stars or else they wouldn't have their pictures photoshopped all the time.

Natasha
A lot of the RF workouts are exercises that they say would help you in a MMA fight. They don't actually teach you how to fight but more like conditioning the muscles that you would need if you were to fight. A couple of the workouts are supposed to have some MMA moves but I haven't gotten to those yet. I would consider these all to to be HiiTs which is why I should probably try to do solid state cardio for the cardio days. So far my only complaint about the set is the warm up for EVERY disc so far has been the exact same footage. I could see how that's going to get kinda old after 8 weeks. It's just ten minutes though and it is a good warm up so maybe it won't be that bad.

I enjoy reading this blog about this woman who did Rushfit. She is a riot. She called doing Rushfit a journey of self-abuse and agony....lol.
Rush Fit & Me

I am glad you like the site -- I like it too! I think they have pretty good information and articles. The trainer Eric is really knowledgable. He is really good looking too...dark hair and light skin...my weakness!

Body Beast does look awesome! I am trying to save up for that one. I did find teambeachbody.com that gives you 10% off of orders if you become a member. Membership is free as well. I might order from that site to save $9.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy afternoon!

So much for yoga this morning. So much for anything this morning, actually! I thought I needed to get to work early more than anything and I am feeling the workouts from yesterday in all the right places:D I think the Yoga will do me some good so I plan to do it when I get home from work.

True, saddle bags are just one of those female things, and over the many years I have been able to trim them down; they definitely are not the thunder thighs they used to be! I think I look fit, curves and definition are nice, but I would like for my thighs to stick out less. It's just something to strive for. That, and a higher pushup count!
Ya know, now that I put it into words like that, I don't mean to sound superficial; it's important just to be healthy and happy and I am:) But seriously who doesn't want to improve something?

Stacie, Um, yeah - those popups do sound hard:eek: RF really sounds great... I love that they demonstrate low impact modifications; there are some days that simply need to be low impact, I think, for everyone.

So, the Exorcist move? Yikes! But I hope the warmups don't get boring for you!

Speaking about logging a bug... my profile lists My Top 5 and it's completely wrong... I don't even own Core Max! I have never got a response about that... but that's nothing to even worry about - not even close to being as annoying as the workout manager/1RM that you mentioned.

Tasha, I have MMA Boxing but haven't done it in a long time. Thanks for the reminder; I'm glad you're feeling it today - always a good sign:cool: I can relate to the deceivingly tough part - Kick Max surprised me that way.

I'm really glad to hear that you're back to doing Yoga 1/week. It really helped my back, too.

By the way I still haven't tried L2 of Killer Buns... I am anxious to get to it, though. I will let you know how that goes:)

I haven't been on Pintrest in a couple days but I'm looking forward to having some time... probably on Friday. I'm off work that day:D

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies :)

No workout for me yesterday. I was sore from MMA Boxing and still sore from the STS Legs disc I did Monday. On top of that, I was unusually tired come 5pm. I had nothing in me :(.

So, I have been eyeing my Jari Love DVD's again :D. I kinda miss them :(. Besides Cathe, I find her stuff to be very challenging. All her workouts are avail on downloads now!! I ended up getting an older one that has excellent reviews (even some Cathletes liked it!). It's Get Ripped & Chiseled. For those not familiar, it's high reps/low weights, total body weight training. All Jari's DVD's pretty much follow that concept, except for her newest ones which alternate cardio + weight intervals.

Stacie
You made me laugh with the "Exorcist" move :). Is it kinda' like spider mountain climber's? Cuz' those are definitely killer!
The blog was really cool and funny! Thanks for posting it :).
If you get Body Beast, OMG, you better try that sucker out asap! I have a feeling Xtrain won't come out until 2013, so you have lots of time to do it :D.

Jennifer
Of course you don't sound superficial! A person who claims they would change nothing about their body is full of crap . Thinner thighs have always been a goal and struggle of mine.
OMG, I have the same problem with my profile! I don't own Core Max either, and I sure as hell would not put CCC as one of my top 5 favorite Cathe's!!! Hmmm, what's going on here??

Have a good one ladies!

Morning!! No workout yesterday as I was STILL recovering from the previous three days of workouts...HA!! By yesterday evening I was feeling like my old self and this morning DOMS were gone. So I was back at it today with Afterburn. Did the whole thing with no rest. That's my goal for this rotation(if you can call it a rotation). Be able to do TTM and Afterburn all reps no rest. I don't mind modifying the moves if I'm getting tired, but I'm hoping to get stronger in them as time goes on. Then maybe I'll do Crossfire, cause right now that thing scares me  My rotation for the next three weeks will look like this:

Sunday: TTM
Monday: SuperSets - Upperbody Blast premix
Tuesday: KCP - all sections except the high impact portion
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Afterburn
Friday: Circuit workout of choice(total body)

This week I'm going to do High Step Challenge. I like band work and that has some. I ordered Low Impact Circuit. It should be here soon. I may do that next week. I think I'm going to get MMA boxing and Cardio HiiT also, but I have time. I want to be ready for XTrain when it comes out!!

Jennifer - I don't think I have saddlebags, but my legs get wrinkly(cellulite). I HATE that. Esp on the front of my legs. I don't care so much about the back cause I can't see it...HA!! And the front of my belly has it to. Even when it's fairly flat. It's too hard to maintain a wrinkle free body(just not worth it to me), but I do strive to keep it off the front of my legs. I just bugs me. It's rare that I don't have it, but that's my goal. But I will say THANK GOD for clothes, cause it covers and smooths it all out in the winter months :)

Tasha - I'm thinking about the MMA boxing. I like the core work in it. I really want to get my middle stronger and I like the core moves that are functional without feeling like I'm doing crunches my entire life.

I used to have that Jari Love video you are talking about. It's really good. I let a friend have it. She was rehabing a knee and still wanted to workout. That workout only has two sections for legs and they are easy to skip. I'm sorry but I cannot imagin Jari doing any type of cardio moves. I think that would drive me insane. She doesn't look like she has much rythm(sp??)

Stacie - the Workout Manager seems buggy. I had a couple problems with it also. I can't wait for XTrain too. I'm looking forward to the Low Impact HiiT!!

Have a good day all!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was Step Moves for the first time. I did not preview it first and got a little frustrated with the choreography. I was thinking about throwing in the towel at 30 minutes but pushed through it any way. I think I will need to do it another time or two before I really get the moves down. I liked the music in it and the length is great for those days when you need a lighter workout.

I googled the Exorcist core move and it's official name is a reverse bridge. Here's a picture of it! When I tried to do it, all I successfully did is pull my hair a bunch of times. I wound up doing just a power bridge instead.
http://carsoncitygymnasticsclub.com...ult-reverse-bridge-carson-city-gymnastics.jpg

I was bad last night and picked up a 15lb kettlebell at Target. It was on clearance and only $22 (50% off)! I had a pharmacy reward card and I used my redcard so I got another 10% off of the $22. Not bad...it came with a Bob Harper dvd and I thought of Natasha! I am still eyeballing the walmart set for $79 (3 bells -- 20lbs, 25lbs, and 30lbs) but this 15lb one will get me started! Target is a very dangerous store for me. I need to stop going there as often as I do!

Jennifer
I don't think you are superficial at all. I think it's good to have goals and to always strive to improve ourselves. I don't think there is a thing wrong with that at all!

Natasha
Is all of Jari Love's stuff high reps? I might have to checkout one of her DVDs from the library and see how I like it. I have been thinking of getting JM's shred it with weights that uses the kettlebell. Do you have it? I saw that Bob Harper has a couple as well. Any recommendations?

There is a kettlebell program that I came across. It looks really interesting but it's pretty pricey...it's rated super well though. It's called RKS Kettlebell Workout. That's on my research list right now. I think I would have to wait for a bit on that one though. I am still eyeballing Chalean Extreme as well. That will definitely be an ebay purchase. I see it on there all the time for between $30-$40. Body Beast is higher on the interest list though. It might be worth it to get get Body Beast just to look at the instructor. Have you seen the clips? He is absolutely gorgeous! And yes he has dark hair and light skin....lol.

Toni
Great job knocking out Afterburn! That workout burns some serious calories. I think your rotation looks awesome. You will have to let us know how it works out for you!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning!
Low Impact Challenge this morning... I forgot how much that one makes me sweat!

Yesterday I tried doing L1 Yoga Meltdown but my entire body was still DOMSing so I decided to go with Stretch Max instead... #1 and #2. They are okay... easier than yoga; I preferred to hold the stretch longer (so I did) instead of the back/forth movement.

Toni, way to jump right back into the swing of things (AB). Your rotation sounds great!

Stacie LOL! Pulling your hair a bunch of times... I can relate to that! Not with that specific move but it's happened with the foam roller and stability ball.

Jillian Michaels does some sort of reverse bridge in her Killer Buns w/o. Level 1 for cryin' out loud. But she doesn't have us walking around (like we're possessed!). I guess we all best get used to that one because it may become as popular as mountain climbers:eek:

I think you made a wise decision to buy that 15 pounder. That was an awesome price and can help get you started.

Target and Costco - they are money traps!

I hear you on the Step Moves; way to go - not throwing in the towel was no easy feat... speaking from experience on that one!

Tasha, To funny! And I know you're right... you would not have CCC listed as one of your top 5!

You've mentioned Jari Love before, and the Ripped class is her creation. She sounds great.... another one to add to my list of workouts to look in to.

You must have needed a rest day so I hope you enjoyed your evening; having extra time to do whatever:)

Enjoy your day!

Stacie
That move is done during Jillian's Yoga Meltdown. I'm scared to do it because of my back...or perhaps I'm just a wuss . Ya it's a crazy a** move no doubt.
Step Moves is fun once you get the choreo. It took me 5 tries . Don't give up, you'll get it :).
Oh ya, why I actually came back to respond to you, about the kettle bell workouts. I don't have Shred It With Weights, but I heard it is pretty good. I might download it now :p. Thanks for reminding me ;). Bob Harper is supposed to be good too (I don't have his kettle stuff either). My recommendation would be Paul Katami!!! Personally, he is THE KETTLE BELL MASTER . Super hot too ;). I had a series called Kettle Worx, DO NOT EVER GET THAT ONE!!! It sucks the bag!! If you want more suggestions, contact Colleen, she is from my other check-in. Her forum name is Cokonkel. She is a kettle bell fanatic and probably has every kettle bell workout on the market! Tell her I sent you ;).

Gotta jet! BBL!

Good morning all :)

Yesterday's w/o was Imax2 . I was able to do that whole sucker without even skipping a beat, even the plie jacks at the end :D.

Today's w/o will be Turbo Barre. Hopefully I've improved and won't be crying throughout all those leg lifts .

Jennifer
How do you like Low Impact Challenge now? I liked that one from the get-go despite all the negative reviews.
Hope you soreness is all gone today :)

Toni
Afterburn with no rest is awesome!
Your rotation looks great . I see you really like circuits. You know what, I have not done one in a long time. I heard Circuit Max is a "puke-in-a-bucket" workout. DO you have it?
I think you would really like MMA Boxing. It's one of those workouts that sneak up on ya! If I could invest, I would get a heavy bag! I love punching and kicking things :D;).

Have a great day ladies!

Good morning everyone! TGIF! Yesterday's workout was RF: Fight Conditioning. That workout had some MMA moves in it. It was a lot of fun. I should have watched the functional moves portion of it first though because there were a couple of exercises I didn't quite get. It was a pretty good workout. I would put it at the level of KPC...maybe a bit harder. The core round was really good too. Overall, I really liked it! This workout had no breaks inbetween rounds...instead some light calisthenics were done for a minute or so. One thing that I found really helpful is they actually displayed in text the moves in the combo on the screen under the timer. I wish that Cathe's and JM's videos did that. It was extremely helpful. The chaptering was slightly off but they definitely high a pretty high production level IMO.

Yesterday I went to the library and picked up a kettlebell workout to try out. I also snagged a Christy Taylor step video since she had come up in the forums. They also had an Exhale video that I snagged as well. I had read those were pretty good. Finally, I grabbed Cardio Fusion. I had tried that DVD when I first found Cathe and was completely lost in the program. I wanted to try it out again to see the difference now since it has segments from three workouts that I really enjoy. I also reserved a bunch of other kettlebell workout DVDs that will start arriving in the next couple of weeks or so. I love the library! I did forget to grab a Jari Love DVD. Oh well...next time!

Jennifer
The reverse bridge is in LEVEL 1???? Holy cow...JM is crazy woman.

That's really crazy about the workout manager. I know they did some updates recently because I noticed that things aren't working quite like they used to. Maybe they accidentally put test data in people's profiles or some default data. Really odd...

Natasha
Thanks for the kettlebell info! I will try out these ones I requested from the library first and then contact Colleen. She might use some terminology or have questions that I may not be able to answer because I have never actually used a kettlebell.

Great work on Imax 2! I haven't done that one for awhile. I stopped running and have moved back into the step aerobics. I kinda miss the running though. I walk my dog along the same route we used to run and sometimes I want to hear the sound of feet pounding on the pavement again.

HeartyMax
Hi there! Hope everything is going ok for you!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi Ladies! It is has been a very busy and exhausting week. I just finished 40 minutes on the elliptical and I hadn't worked out since Tuesday morning. I had high school open house on Tuesday night and didnt get home until 8:30 and then I had class on Wednesday (since we couldn't meet on Monday) so that was another late night resulting in really needing to take rest days. I was just plain lazy on yesterday and literally dragged myself out of bed this morning to workout. I need some enthusiasim over my way.

It has been a good week with kids and keeping things organized and knowing what assignments are due and bring things home on top of other issues. I am just mentally drained I think.

I will catch up on personals later. I need to do some chores and then work on my homework.

Happy Saturday to all!
I'd hoped to do Cycle Max on Friday but I didn't get a chance to do anything; it was okay since Tuesday and Thursday I did the gym class in the evening as well as my morning workout.

This morning I did 2 workouts, Muscle Max Upper body and also Jillian's Killer Buns & Thighs Level 2. That is some hard stuff! By the way, Stacie, I think I was mistaken that the Exorcist move was in Jillian's L1 Killer Buns... Tasha said it's in her Yoga Meltdown and that is probably where I remember seeing the stationary position.

Anyhoo, Killer Buns is not exactly harder than what we're used to with B&G and LBB, etc. However the exercises are different and most of them were new to me and very challenging; the last 10 minutes or so I was thinking "oh man, how much longer" but I enjoyed hating it:) There was no way I was up for KPC after that workout which I originally thought would be a good combo.

Stacie, RF sounds so cool. I think I'd love it; one of these day (or if our library ever gets it). The text under the clock does sound very helpful!

The test data makes sense regarding the workout manager and in the profile fields.

Your library is awesome! My library, not so much. I hope you like Cardio Fusion; I like that one a lot.

By the way, did you tell Cokonkel that Mini-Natty sent ya'?! LOL - that was cute:)

Tasha, awesome job on Imax2! That one is a killer! I haven't tried to conquer that one in quite a while. Maybe it's time. You made it through all those plie jacks without missing a beat - OMG:eek:

How did Turbo Barre go? That is such a tough workout. I can't believe how heavy 5lb weights get! And of course the lower body segment is ridiculously hard:eek:

Thank you, yes, I finally am not sore anymore:D Tomorrow may be a different story after KB&T!

I love Low Impact Challenge - it had been quite a while since the last time I did it so I sort of messed up the last combo but not so bad that I couldn't get away with it if you know what I mean. I don't get why it would have bad reviews?! I like it better than Low Max which used to be one of my favs. I think I like it better because Low Max starts out pretty slow but otherwise they are both great workouts.

Heartymax, good job getting in some elliptical time after not being able to do any workouts for most of the week. I bet it felt great:) Good luck with your homework.

Hi Toni

I guess I best get started running errands and all that jazz. I think I'll make Mexican Lasagna tonight... one of my favorites. Tomorrow the plan is to try making ground turkey/ricotta stuffed manicotti.
Have a great day!

Good morning gals!

Yesterday I had my cousin's wedding. It was very beautiful; elegant, yet simple. Bella was amazing as the flower girl :). She was so well behaved throughout the entire church ceremony and reception afterwards. A few people surprisingly asked if I was going to the gym and what I was "doing". I guess it is starting to become apparent that my physique is slightly changing. It feels nice to get complimented, but I still get a bit uncomfortable in situations like that. Do you guys feel the same? (BTW, I will post pics of me & Bella soon. She looked super cute).

Friday was Turbo Barre. Man, is that workout ever going to get easier??? I got the Upper Body with 5lbs down, it's the Lower Body that I struggle with . I think I have progressed a bit, taking less breaks throughout, but I still cry during those side leg lifts.

I downloaded Low Max too :D. I will be doing that today, first time :D.

Jennifer

Glad to see Jillian is challenging you ;). I find her to be more subdued in her new workouts. Shed & Shred, well, she is almost TOO NICE! If that's even possible.
I love the UB in Muscle Max! Way to mix up your workouts! Love it .
I can't wait for Low Max!! I love the little bits I do in Hardcore Extreme, and could not help myself getting the whole sucker :D.
LOVE Mexican Lasagna :p. Do you put black beans in yours? I do :p

Stacie
Displaying the text of moves on the screen under the timer would be a wonderful idea! You should give that idea to Cathe & SNM.
I was eyeing Cardio Fusion on Friday! Please let me know how it is. My only fear is that the majority will be cardio from BM2, which I already have and don't want to pay for repeat.
I think the sound of shoes running on pavement is in The Book Of Awesome. Have you read those?

Heartymax
I'm sorry to hear about your exhausting week. I hope it all settles down in the upcoming weeks. I always think my sleep will get better when Bella gets older, then I see mom's who have older kids getting exhausted by late nights helping with homework, or waiting up for teenagers to come home. No rest for moms then :(. That's good to know ;).

Toni
Hello :)

Have a good weekend ladies!

Good Morning!
Bodymax2 was my choice this morning:D Oh man, I forgot how draining that one is! I didn't do the upper body since yesterday I did MM/UB.

I don't feel any DOMS from KB&T but I did feel a little tight. Maybe I'll feel more tomorrow especially after doing BM2; sometimes it does take me a couple days to feel the DOMS. I don't know why some days I feel it right away and some days it takes a couple days. I guess super-intense hits quicker and intense hits later.

Tasha, Looking forward to seeing the pictures of you and Bella! Sounds like a very beautiful wedding. It is nice getting complements, and I also agree that it's a little uncomfortable depending on the person making the comment and how they say it. There are a few women who seem to always want to check me out and tell me what they think about my weight.
Anyway, congratulations on your hard work paying off!

I hope you will enjoy Low Max; I know you like what you do know of it so hopefully the entire LM will be enjoyable and really work you hard.

Man, that Turbo Barre. I hear ya', the lower body is just a killer. I wonder if doing it 2x/week would make it any better, and if it did would we get better results faster.... hum... any thoughts on that? Good job that you do the 5lbs so well! I struggle with the lateral raises after a point and I have to bend my arms at the elbows so I can keep going.

The Mexican lasagna was awesome; I like to use black refried beans, not actual black beans. I'm glad we have leftovers!

Have a nice day, everyone!

Happy Sunday! Today was TTM again with my rest. I felt a bit stronger in the workout today that I did yesterday. I had a bit of dread going into it, but that's because of the DOMs and tiredness I had after it next week. I was able to push past the dread and do it anyway. However, I'm sure I will still have DOMs tomorrow :) Hoping I don't have the tiredness though. The workout itself felt gread though.

DH and I are in a debate right now about what sized TV to buy in Dec. I tell ya I'm about to just leave the money in the bank. Who needs a 70" TV? Not to mention it's out of out price range and too big for our room...ugh....men!!

I beginning to think of what I'm going to do in my next rotation. I'm thinking I am going to do upper body from MESO 2 of STS with the plyo legs from MESO 3. I also want to do one HiiT workout, so I think I'm going to do CCC  I figure if I survive a rotation of TTM with no rest, I should be able to do CCC even with modifications. I know I should be doing STS the traditional way, but I just don't have the mental capacity to do it for 3 months right now. I've also decided I'm going to take a bit of a rest week before I start that. At least a lighter workout week for the legs so I don't burn them out.

Tasha - Yes, I love me some circuit workouts :) I'm a cardio junky, so getting some cardio into my weight lifting is awesome for me!! I previewed Low Impact Circuit on Friday and it looks awesome. Sort of like Low Max and MM mixed in one. And it uses the band, which I really like. So glad the wedding turned out well. It's always nice when our kids make us proud!!

Jennifer - I'm still sort of afraid to try Turrbo Barre...ha!! I may do it befor XTrain though. It seems like it would really give some very nice shape to the legs.

HeartyMax - Glad to heard the kids are off to a good start in school!! Organization is a big key to their success. My son has an IEP in our school system and one of his classes is specifically designed to help keep him organized in terms of his assignments and what his grades are. It's all geared toward having him take responsibility for his own education. I really like the class so far.

Hope you have some down time soon.

Stacie - let me know how the kettleball workouts go. We have a 10lb and a 15lb and I don't know what it is about those things, but they feel three times heavier than my dumbbells of the same size. I think it has to do with my weak wrists. I think I will need an 8lb before I would be able to do one of those workouts.

Funny how when you leave out a word in a sentence, it takes on a whole new meaning! It was NOT a good week last week with the kids organization is what I meant to say. It is just the beginning of the school year. I was hoping with the right consequences, they will start to show some improvement.

Toni--you have been doing an awesome job with your workouts. I understand what you mean about STS. I love the program, but I am usually in the "I can't wait for this to be over" by the time I get to Meso 3.

Jennifer-Mexican lasagna sounds so delicious.

Tasha---Kids can definitely keep you stressed. Both boys are good boys but my oldest does always make good decisions. He can "dumb" to be so "smart". I tell people that having a teenager, increases your prayer life:D I just try to remember all the stuff I did growing up and I turned out okay.:D

This morning was a premix of TTM. Tonight is my long night with class. I am going to try my best not to take a rest day tomorrow. I will see how it goes.

Hello ladies!

Here are some pics from the wedding. I'm having a hard time finding a family pic of me, Bella and DH . I'm sure there is one, just don't know who took it :(. So the 1st pic is of me and my aunt (mother of the groom), 2nd is of Bella. The 3rd is of Bella and the bride (my cousin-in-law).

Yesterday's w/o was Low Max (first time!!!). Love it! The choreo was a little tricky, but I'm good with a learning curve. The leg blasts were TOUGH! The 1,000,000 pulses on the step were BRUTAL! I was like "is this ever going to end Cathe?? You crazy nut you!". The music was damn awesome :D. 80's music is my absolute fav and I was just rockin' away . Good stuff :D.

Heartymax
So have the new workouts exceeded your expectations? You can be honest with me ;).

Jennifer
BM2 is crazy hard, being 90min long I think that's what pushes me (or most!) over the edge of wanting to DIE.
Mark feels DOMS 2 days afterwards, always. Never the day after.
Yes, I think doing TB 2X/week would most definitely give you results faster. TBH, I dread doing that workout more than once/week, that's why I've never done it twice. I love it (you know how much :D), but doing only leg lifts and no weights for my lower body would kinda' bother me.

Toni
My DH is the same about TV's!!! We just got a 56" not too long ago, and now he says it's too small . Don't try to understand it, it's just a typical man thing.
STS M3 + Plyo Legs would be AWESOME . Ya, go for it, you are going to have lots of fun...oh and some nice muscles too ;).

Have a good one ladies :)

Good Morning!
This morning I went back to Cross Train Xpress (it came up recently in a discussion) - I did the Kick Box. It was nice but certainly not intense enough or long enough for me so I added on KPC (minus the combos since I didn't have any more time). Over all it wasn't intense but I guess we all need days like those (especially after a BodyMax2 day yesterday!) I am hoping my arms feel it tomorrow.

Tasha, I see what you mean about TurboBarre more than 1x/week. I think especially with the variety of lower body workouts that we have available to us it's just hard to not rotate them often.

Good to know that Mark gets DOMS after 2 days. By the way, I still don't feel any:( I know I worked hard and to fatigue, I sure felt spent, so I don't know why I' not feeling it. I'll give L3 a shot this week and see what happens.

Heartymax, I hope class goes well tonight, I know it's long. Maybe if you feel like taking a rest day try instead to just do a few minutes your favorite exercise and then if you want to stop then go ahead and stop... or continue on but take it easy thoughout the workout. I'm not real sure what your goals are but you don't want to lose what you've worked so hard to acheive - cardio capacity and strenth. But I'm just trying to help motivate you so if you feel you need something else entirely then just ignore me:D How's that for putting my foot down?! LOL

Toni, Well, I think it might be a guy thing. Craig has a 72" TV and the only reason we don't have a bigger one is because it won't fit in the living room. We have awesome superbowl parties, though:)

I hope you're still not too fatigued with DOMS, but you pushed yourself and that is awesome:) CCC is a great workout, and one of things I do like about it is that it's easy to modify or change whatever if needed. I have a back problem so when Cathe's doing the core exercises I just do moving planks or mountain climbers... I think I have even done pushups and rear delts during the core segments.

My turkey-ricotta manicotti turned out to be called Manicotti Mess. A lot of the noodles split, plus I had excess mixture of the stuffing so I plopped it on top of the noodles rather than set it aside to use for something else. But it was still good! I used low-fat ricotta and cooked/drained the grease out of the ground turkey before stuffing the noodles and baking it.

I best get to work. Take care and have a great day!

Good morning everyone! It was a busy weekend but I did get workouts in Friday and Saturday. Friday was Total Body Trisets upperbody for the first time...I liked it. Some people had complained about the music but I didn't mind it at all. I did part of Crossfire on Saturday. That one has pretty good music. It's a toughie though.

On Sunday, we had a going away party for me nephew since he leaves for the Navy on Wednesday. No one seems to know anything about when he is leaving -- it's still chaos. I had taken Wedneday off to see him off but it turns out he will be here Tuesday afternoon. I might call in sick tomorrow so I can hang out with him. I haven't decided yet. I tried to make up with the ex on Sunday morning but got no response from him. I feel kinda guilty but another man asked me to dinner for my birthday and since I received no response from the ex despite attempting to extend an olive branch, I said yes. We are supposed to go to dinner this weekend. He is nice as a friend but he has some personality traits that I think make us a bit incompatiable. I told him that we can go dutch so that I don't lead him on. It will be nice to actually go out for a change and it was nice to have a man actually want to see me vs the ex who couldn't seem to care less whether he sees me or not despite what he says sometimes.

Sorry to hear that last week was not good for you. Those things can really drain you! I hope that this week is much smoother.

Jennifer
I have not tried out the kettlebell workouts yet nor have I talked to Colleen. Most of the weekend was spent cleaning only to have my son trash the areas I had just cleaned again! Arrgghhhh!

Toni
Great job on TTM! I agree with you about the TV situation. My largest one is 27 inches and my ex-husband always wanted a bigger one. Not as big as 70 inches but I never quite understood that because the one we had worked just fine and was plenty big enough!

Natasha
The wedding pictures are so nice! It sounds like it was a great time. Bella makes a very cute little flower girl.

Glad to hear you liked LowMax...it's one of my favorites because of the music. Those songs will get stuck in your head!

Hello all!! Today was supposed to be SuperSets UB only. However, I was feeling strong enough to do the totaly body workout. However, I did NOT do those awful jumping lunges. Detest them!! Beside, I had more than enough jumping yesterday with TTM :D

I'm eyeing the Horizontal Conditioning workouts. As if I needed to spend anymore money on fitness videos...HA!! I really want to keep a nice strong core and all that plank work is really good for the upper body. My only hesitation is how do they fit into a rotation  Not sure if they are total body or just UB and core. I think I heard someone here talking about them. If anyone has and info, I would love to hear it.

Tasha - Love the wedding photos. Add the dresses are lovely. We already have a 53" TV and it's FINE. The only reason we are even entertaining the thought of getting another is because one of the kids hit the screen with the Wii remote and there are these two rather large spots on the TV. We could simply replace with the same size....but he has TV lust...ugh!!

HeartyMax - I know what you mean about missing words in posts. I went back and read my last post....holy cow. Every reference I made to time(yesterday, last week, next week etc) was wrong  I have no idea what was wrong with me yesterday!!

Stacie - I like TBT, but that music is absolutely terrible for me :) I actually have to use the option where I turn it off and play my own music, which makes me not even want to bother with that workout. And that's a lot for me to say, because I've never had that reaction to music before.

Jennifer - I am feeling much better after TTM this week. My upperbody is very tight today though. I think I've been using better form on my exercises to keep the moves out of my lower back, which is making my upper back a little bit more tired. Just the concentration to keep my chest upright and lifted seems to be usign my muscles in a different way. A good thing I suppose.

Colleen (Cokonkel) from my other check-in has them all and has seen fabulous results and praises them. If you contact her, be warned, she is THE BEST enabler ever! PM her and tell her I sent ya ;).
