Push It

Good morning,
Afterburn for me this morning; I needed to make up for yesterday's lacking workout. My foot was fine when I got up this morning :)

Heartymax, I guess I missed something big yesterday; or I guess that was in a different thread. I'm glad you stood up to the coaches! Knowing your good heart I'm sure it was warrented:)

Stacie, I'm sorry your son woke up again! I hope he is able to sleep soundly and that you are able to get through some more workouts.
The Assessment test sounds exhausting! Glad you did better than you thought. That's motivating and encouraging!
By the way, yes- thanks- the chiropractor was great. My neck felt instantly better; then there was a bit of lingering muscle soreness, and then there was complete relief.

Tasha, thanks for the info about kettlebells. I was wondering if they would be any different than using a dumbbell but it sounds like they are different. Yep, could get expensive!

My coworker is out sick again today and I have been asked to take her work and set mine aside. I guess duty calls.
Have an awesome day!

Good afternoon everyone! I have been doing a ton of biking and walking yesterday and today since that car is in the shop yet again -- this time for a really major repair.. This is the last repair I am hoping to do for awhile. Based on the finances, I should be able to be a good position to get a new used car in November which will be super nice. If the car can hold out even longer than November that will give me even more time to save. Keep your fingers crossed!

Natasha
Thank you so much for kettlebell information! There is another set online that has a 20lb, 25lb, and 30lb bells. That set might be better for me. You are right though that the JM set is a pretty good price. I need to head back to Marshalls, Ross, and TJ max to see what they have. I think though that the bells are smaller ones if I remember correctly.

Jennifer
Afterburn is a toughie! I think that definitely makes up for taking yesterday off. I am glad to hear too that your neck feels better.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Thursday ladies!

Today's w/o was TTM (no compound legs). I upped my step height for the Step Tabata section going from 8inch to 10inch . I knew from the get-go that I should have done it, since it was not as challenging as Tabata should be. Cathe says it best "if it's not hard enough, raise your step height or go heavier with the weights. There's always a way to fix the problem". I love when she says that! I'm like "yes Cathe, I know, but can I please stay this comfortable forever?? :(".

Jennifer
I'm so sorry to hear about your foot! Ugh! I'm happy that you woke up and it was feeling better :). That's great news! Foot injuries are NO FUN! I sprained my ankle in my early 20's and it was HELL. You have such a positive spirit through it all. You even went and did your push-ups like it was nothing.
YAY Pinterest! Don't you do this every time you see something cool :eek::eek::eek::eek:. I set up an account but I have nothing on my page yet. So much to do, so little time :D.
People calling in at sick at work is a bummer. It totally screws up your day when you are in the retail industry . Trying to find a cashier was virtually impossible sometimes!!! Then the managers (me) had to do the dirty work.

Stacie
I'm sorry to hear about your car :(. Biking and walking is pretty awesome though...tiring but great nonetheless. I hope your car will last you until November. New/used cars are nice :).
Your weight selections will be more than adequate to last you a very long time! Be careful though, bells can be hard to handle with good form. A different animal than dumbbell's or barbell's.

Toni
I don't think it matters what your strength/weaknesses are as a parent. No one is perfect and everyone has them. What I think matters the most is the unconditional love, support and respect we give our children. You are doing just that :).
Congrats on getting back into your workouts! I love Cardio Super Sets. It's much nicer than Afterburn .
If you want hiit workouts, then get the 3 hiit workouts from Shock Cardio. IMO, they are some of the toughest cardio Cathe has ever produced. That along with CCC. If you like step, Intensity is a goodie! That will totally kick your booty left, right and center!! I know Heartymax dislikes the hiit segments from it, but I personally love em'!

Have a great night ladies!

No workout today. I decided to sleep in since DS has a game and I have to leave there and go to my youngest back to school night. It will be a very long day.

Jennifer and Stacie--- it was not my kids with the bad attitude coach. It was just something I witnessed and we informed our head coach who wasn't there that day.

Gotta run. Almost time for the game to start.

I chose Upper Body Split from Cross Train Express. The series just collects dust as I don't use it so I decided to do the upper body this morning. I have not been strength training as much the last few weeks and I promise you that my muscles reminded me of that this morning. I almost felt like a beginner----well not exactly----but you know what I mean. I did push ups instead of the chest work segment. Push up count was 12,13,10,10,15.

DS played well but you can tell he wanted a really big play cause he got a few big ones in the first game. Well, he recovered a fumble off the other teams 2 point conversion attempt and had the nerve to celebrate. The coach was so angry at him for that penalty. I told him it doesn' t matter that they were up by 20 points already----you just can't do that. It sets a bad example. He claims that he only did it because of a conversation he had with the rep about what kinds of things he could do. I don't buy that. He say the coach talked to him about it later and said everythings ok. I don't buy that either as they were sreaming "I CAN"T BELEIVE THIS" 5 minutes after it had happened on the field. DH was upset with him as well. We told him he had a good game but you can't end it doing something crazy. We wanted him to understand that he will risk his starting position doing that.

Jennifer--AfterBurn is definitely the way to go when you feel you need to catch up. I bet you were a sweaty mess. I love that workout.

I gotta run. Still need to pack lunches. I am glad its the weekend. I can barely tell it was a short week. :D

Good afternoon everyone! Yesterday was a ton of biking due to the car being in the shop. It was about 2 hours overall...part of it was hauling the bike trailer behind be as well. I was pretty tired so I skipped my Rushfit workout (which of course now I have to figure out how to make up). The car is supposed to be done this afternoon which will be great -- except for the whole paying part.

I don't know if you noticed in the OD, but some tempers flared in a Body Beast discussion I was part of. I never know how to handle these situations...I hate seeing people getting upset but I am always worried about taking one side or saying something that would make people even more angry.

Natasha
You are getting raising your step higher and higher! That's amazing! Do your knees ever bother you when you go higher?

I might opt for a different kettlebell set that is 10lbs - 20lbs. I don't know...there is a kettlebell handle that I can just attach to plates and custom create a kettlebell that way. It's kinda pricey though. No matter which way I go, it's going to be a little bit since this car repair was pretty costly.

HeartyMax
How was the CTX premix? Did you like it? My CTX sits there too. I tried all of the cardio workouts and didn't really care for them that much. I didn't do any of the weight portion though. I have been meaning to try All Abs too but just never got around to it.

Is your DS is high school? High school sports start to become more important since sometimes college recruiters come to games. I can see where you are coming from with wanting to keep him a starter.

Bye for now!

Stacie--I like the upper body split from CTX. I have done it once before. It is high in reps so I have to keep the weights low. It was a welcome change from the other workouts that I do. I have been doing split workouts for so long until I decided to try to do some Total Body or Upper Body workouts for a while to change things up a bit. My DS is a freshman and he seems to be enjoying the sport and getting to know other classmates.

Hi everyone :)

Today I went shopping for a new dress for my cousin's wedding next Saturday (Bella will be the flower girl :)). This Sunday is a baby shower sans child :D. I had the option to bring her, and I was like NO WAY! Let me have my food and alcoholic beverages in peace please ;). I have some pretty busy weekends ahead.

Today's w/o was The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga 50min. I cannot describe how much I love that workout! Last year I did it religiously 1-2x/week. It's amazingly well put together AND extremely challenging to boot. I still can't get past the last 10min segment without coming out of my plank pose and taking a break! It's a very humbling experience, even more so because some of the contestants/exercisers are on the bigger side but extremely fit! It's like they are not even breaking a sweat. I love it :).

Stacie
I saw Rushfit today at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $79.99. You were enabling me in my mind, and I was tempted to get it...I just walked away :D.
Yup, I saw the Body Beast discussion. Oh whatever! Some people just take things WAY too seriously IMO. Sorry you got kinda caught in the middle :(. You always handle yourself with class though, even that one time you asked about the DVD recommend for your mom and there was a heated argument.
My knee's are temperamental. I'm ok when jumping on my step as I land very softly to absorb the impact. Same with landing on the floor. TBH, I get more knee problems when learning complex choreo on my step. Also, I don't do high impact nearly as much as I did last year which really aggravated my knee's. I think the breaks with low impact helped tremendously.

Heartymax
A lady named Clare has just enabled me to get CTX . It looks very good. Have you done the entire series?
I think you and your DH handled the situation with your son extremely well. I don't really understand football, but I can appreciate all sports and the love for the game :). Is your son interested in a scholarship and going pro?

Have a great weekend ladies!

Happy Sunday!
I ended up going to a nice winery Saturday with one of my friends; beautiful place with a lake, and maybe we'll be able to get the guys to go with us at some point because they also have beer!

The storms we had for a couple days really made the weather beautiful for the weekend... sunny, vibrant blue skies and mid 70s:)

I didn't work out at all on Friday since I had to get to work early and then get a mammogram after that. Good times - not. Talk about squishing the girls! It's not as bad as some people make it sound, and I am small busted (so it's supposed to be more painful). I think it just depends on who is performing the test, really. Oh by the way, I'm not having any problems - it was just the annual thing. I'm sure everything is fine:)

Yesterday I did Crossfire Extreme before going to the winery. One thing I substituted was the tuck jumps... instead I did Frankenstein kicks - they work the tops of the thighs on the kicking leg, but they also really force the glutes of the supporting leg to squeeze super tight; if I add them to walking lunges I know that will help my booty! I learned that form experience in the Sports Conditioning workout and I had to ice my legs the day after. FYI.

Today I semi-copied Tasha's upper body workout... Turbo Barre Upper body; it's hard to believe those 5lb weights get SO freaking heavy! After that 10-15min segment or so I did Pyramid Upper body. My arms are still practically shaking!

No time for the Zumba class today; my dad is driving here from Montana and I still have some cleaning to do... great - I have to use my arms.:eek: Anyway, he's staying with us for a week - usually it's 2 weeks (a very l-o-n-g time) but he is sort of crashing my mom's trip to visit us so he knows he can't stay with us longer than a week; my mom is coming to stay with us for a few days next week. She planned her trip months ago and he just informed us of his trip a few days ago. She gets dibs and he knows it so at least there's no hard feelings.

Stacie, I didn't see the OD/Body Beast but I understand how you feel about wanting to be careful what you say. Some people really do get into heated discussions. Did you bow out or make any more comments?

How has your son been doing - sleeping any better?

Sorry to hear about your car - SO frustrating! Glad to hear you are able to do some biking - not exactly on your terms, okay, not on your terms at all - but I hope the weather cooperated. Are you sore from all the bike riding? I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that your car holds out for you until you're ready!

Tasha, That's so funny - "can you please be comfortable for a while?" Way to push yourself by adding more risers! Were you at all nervous about that? How did it go - will you always do 10" now? Risers - what did you think I was talking about?! Hee hee. Just had to make a joke about it:D

As for being humbled in the Biggest Loser workout, the people probably have been practicing that workout longer than you and probably have also been forced into doing more planks;)

So glad you get to enjoy a baby shower sans child, and how fun to go new-dress shopping:)

Heartymax, thanks for filling me/Stacie in on the coach thing. It really was great that you spoke up - we need to speak for those who can't! And as for the celebrating, very eloquently spoken to your son.

I haven't done Xtrain Express; I will make a note to break out the premix for upperbody. I guess that series isn't my favorite, either. Good job on the pushups! Yesterday I did a handful of sets myself :)

I think some of Cathe's older DVDs are fine (there was a discussion about it that I didn't get involved with) but some of them I think just don't work me as hard as I want to be worked. Cathe has progressed SO much so it makes sense that some of the older ones don't get used anymore. Someone mentioned Body Max. I tried doing that one and couldn't get past the first segment (just couldn't get into it)... BodyMax2 - that one is fantastic! I'll take that one any day. Different strokes for different folks:)

Craig's throwing some new "throw" pillows at me! LOL!
Have an awesome day everyone!

Natty----CTX is a dust collector for me I have to admit. For some reason, I just felt that I had to have it. I have used leaner legs and I do like that one. I have also done the kickbox one and like it to. I just have to add on some more cardio to it. The concept of doing one body part of Upper Body with some cardio just doesn't work for me so I am not sure why I ever purchased this series. I asked myself----What was I thinking???

Jennifer---
I have never been to a winery but I should put it on my list of things to do with DH in the next year. I hear people talk about how much fun they are.

My oldest son participated in a youth lock in at church on Friday night from 10PM to 6AM. He said he had fun. They played games, sports, watched Facing the Giants ( a chrisitan movie about football), had youth discussion groups, etc. Then on Sunday we had a picnic after church so he enjoyed hanging out with the youth again. Friday night was a good chance for him to meet new people at church and he had fun.

No workouts this weekend. But I did get some of my short papers done for my class. I needed some fun factor today so I pulled out Disc 1 Meso 1 Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I did my push ups first which allowed me to skip some of Cathe's push ups. I did 12,17,13,13, 17. I had to take a short pause and catch my breathe to get out that last 17.

Happy Monday all :) I finished out last week with steady state step areobics on Thursday and Cardio & Weights on Friday. Saturday was a rest day and I was back at it on Sunday. TTM on Sunday. Did the whole thing with NO REST!! Was excited about that. I did use some modifications though. I only use 1 riser throughout the entire workout. I'm sure I can use 2 for the first and second segments, but I'm not sure if I would be able to finish the 30/20 segment if I did that, so for now I will just leave it along. Besides I always feel like the extra risers in step workouts really throw off my footing. I feel like I"m going to trip because I so used the the 6" step hieght. I'm going to do it with just 1 riser one more week, then I'm going to increase it for the step Tabata the week after that.

Today was PUB. I kept seeing that everyone was doing it, so I threw it in. I remember doing it before and I liked it. Today was no exception. My upper body was fried!! I lowered the weight for the bicepts and shoulders a bit. My goal is to make it through without missing a rep or having to rest, so I need lower weights for that. Man is my body tired though. Fried my lower body yesterday and my upper body today. I think I see a foam roller in my future tonight and a good nights sleep!! Hoping for Cardio Supersets tomorrow, which is not upper or lower body heavy. Just nice steady work.

My daughter is trying to work ALL my nerves these days. My son is my most respectful child. When I ask him to do something he gets up and does it without question or attitude. My daughter wants to sit there and act like no one is talking to her or give me all these reasons why she doesn't need to do what I'm asking. Then this weekend she had the nerve to get a little extra attitude and pushy with me cause her little friend was over. I keep trying to explain to my daughter that she is trying to take me to a place that she DOES NOT want to be with me. Oh the joy of girls....

HeartyMax - the church shut-in sounds like fun!! I was interested in 4DS, but I saw your comment about cardio plus 1 body part not really doing it for you. Thinking maybe I won't do that now....hmmmm. Honestly, I don't really like the split upper body workouts. I like working the entire upper body twice a week better. And I think I'm the only one that considers some of the cardio workouts a leg workout. For example, TTM is totally a leg workout for me :) If I do that and let's say a GS Legs I consider that two leg workouts for the week!! Same with AfterBurn. Maybe I'm cheating..hehe.

Jennifer - the winery shoulds nice. DH and I aren't big wine drinkers. We only like the sweet stuff. We toured a wine castle in San Fransico last April and it was really nice, but when it came to wine tasting time we simply could not figure out what all the hoopla was about. We didn't like anything but one kind of wine. Which is sad because I so want to like wine. It seems like a really nice hobby.

And I'm sorry, but with all your workouts I simply cannot imagine that you booty needs any work :) My husband laughs at me cause I told him at this point the main reason I'm working out is to keep the booty tight...LOL!! At 40 a flat behind is simply not attractive :)

Tasha - good job on raising the step height!! I want to be you when I grow up :) And I totally don't blame you for wanting to go to the baby shower kid free. Being kid free totally changes everything!! I was talking to someone about taking a flight and they were saying that they didn't want any layovers. I told them if I'm kid free I don't care about a layover because I have no kids to haul around and look after. Stuff like that just seeems easier without kids.

Stacie - glad you will be getting your car back soon. I'm sure the biking was nice exercise, but not seeing how that could have been convienient. I'm sure I wouldn't have lasted five seconds, but then again we have to do what we have to do :) I'm not sure why people come on message boards and argue. Especially about something like exercise. I remember my first message board was a pregnancy board and you would not believe all the arguements. One board I just told them to take me off of. I was just done. So I understand you wanting to stay out of some stuff or not knowing exactly how to respond.

Good morning everyone. I was super wiped out from all the bike riding and have been having really bad headaches due to TTOTM so I took Friday and Saturday off. I was getting ready to workout last night when who woke up yet again? Sigh...at least we did a bunch of swimming earlier in the day. Due to the craziness of last week, I am restarting week 1 of Rushfit. I might have to double up one day this week to make up last night's workout. This is the last weekend for my nephew. He leaves for boot camp on the 19th. I will be sad to see him go. At least it turns out he only joined the reserves which made me feel a lot better. I am still going to worry like crazy about him especially since I deal with the erractic behavior of the marine off and on.

The ex and I got into another fight Saturday and Sunday. I admit that I caused it by calling him out on some lies he had told. I could have just continued to let it go I guess but I was feeling a bit like a doormat. He was super down though so it wasn't the best time for any of it. I feel guilty now about it all even though I also feel I had valid reasons for being angry at him. He is not talking to me again...but what's new about that?

I got the car back on Friday which was good. I can't believe how quiet it is now. I think the transmission had been going for some time due to the extreme difference in the sound while driving. It did kinda stutter once since I got it back which made me almost want to lie down in the fetal position and cry but hopefully that was just bad gas or something!

Natasha
Thank you for the kind words about the arguments in the forums! I try to stay out of them but sometime feel I have to say something. Things did get heated in the whole discussion about workout videos for my mom. I guess everyone has pet peeves and sometimes people hit a nerve.

That price with a 20% coupon for Rushfit is pretty good. They send out a newsletter too and I enjoy reading their articles. Their style is way different than Cathe's. Cathe's newsletter is very professional and polite and theirs is more in your face. I enjoy reading them both though.

Here is a link to one:

Glad to hear that your son had a good time at the lockout -- it sounds like a lot of fun!

Jennifer
The winery sounds so nice! I have only been to one and had the horrifying experience of the biggest spider I have ever seen leap from the ceiling onto my head. I didn't realize what it was but just automatically brushed it off to the floor. I was shocked when I saw what it was and how big it was! It's kinda funny now but I was really creeped out at the time.

How is Zumba? Have you tried it before?

Toni
Awesome job doing TTM! It's a good workout for sure (and I only did the premix!). I know how you feel about your daughters. My son has selective hearing too when I use the nice mommy voice. It drives me crazy sometimes. He can be a little brat too sometimes and gets away with way more than I would have as a child.

I would say have a great Monday but are Mondays EVER good? Well...maybe if you are on vacation! ;)

Hello gals :)

Yesterday's baby shower went really well. The food was phenomenal! The appetizer's included BBQ pork sliders, coconut butterflied shrimp, calamari, mini quiches, chicken and lamb mini-skewers. The main course was butternut squash risotto, grilled chicken leg, seasonal vegetables. The dessert table was great and my cousin's Dolce De Leche cupcakes were a hit! There was also a candy bar, which I'm not a fan of because I don't really like candy.

Today's w/o will be the start of my new rotation with STS Legs W4. The reason I'm picking that disc every week is because it contains the bonus leg section w/drills on the stability ball and I want to really focus on my hammies .

Jennifer
The winery sounds lovely. I've never been, but If I did go, I'd be pretty drunk...I think . Wine is my weakness :D.
I'm glad to hear your mammogram went well (as good as they can be at least). I'm sending lots of negative-test result vibes your way {{{}}}.
WTG on Crossfire extreme! I've never done that premix yet, and I'm not sure if I intend to anytime soon.
LOL on the 10" risers :D:D. You are too funny! Not to brag, but I can go up to 12" too depending on the exercise ;).
BTW, if you wanna add me on Pinterest (or anyone else here for that matter!), my name is Natascia Savona. That's how you spell my name, but no one can pronounce it, so I just go by Natasha. It saves time by having to explain that my mother decided to be "different".

Heartymax
That's great that your eldest son participated in a youth lock in at church. I think teenagers do need to be grounded by volunteering and taking part in community/church services.
Stellar on the push-ups...AGAIN!!

Toni
You are doing amazing getting back into your workouts! Congrats on TTM with no rest!! You should feel darn proud about that :D.
Man, girls are difficult. Mine is only 3 and she pushed my buttons already! My DH has 3 sisters, and my mom-in-law always rants and raves that he was a perfect angel while her daughter's were the difficult ones.
You are right about the kid thing. I find to do anything ANYTHING with my daughter, it's like 3 steps forward and 5 steps back!!

Stacie
I understand about your OD dilemma. Too much drama there for my liking sometimes. What I dislike, is when people "isolate" a post and then make a negative argument on it. Then it ultimately turns out as a back & forth heated discussion. I would never do that! Let people say their peace and move on! To each his own I suppose .
I hope that's the end of your car and ex-bf troubles! Don't you notice they both have many things in common -- men & cars?? I'm not a man-basher or anything, just making a slight observation ;).
I hope you have a good week :).

Whew, I wrote a novel! Have a good one ladies!

Hi! Glad to see everyone on here today:)

This morning I did Cardio Core Circuit (I thought of you, Stacie, since I know it's one of your favs). I really like that one and it's nice not using any equipment sometimes:)

My upper body is sore everywhere from PUB yesterday:D

Toni, Congrats on TTM, and way to go on PUB! I love them both, but PUB is just awesome. I'm with you - I prefer to work my entire upper body at once... or perhaps splitting that up into only 2 different days, like back/biceps one day and shoulders/chest/triceps the very next day... but I do prefer it all at once, and 2x/week is ideal for me.

From your lips to God's ears... one of my old friends even told me she didn't understand why I have saddle bags as often as I work out... I eat very well, just about all of the time (being completely honest). It's crazy. I actually was about to give up on it - seriously. But the gym helped me break through my plateau and that has been encouraging and gives me hope. Technically, it's actually the thighs that need the help.

Tash, you will like Crossfire Extreme; I can't believe it would be anything like doing triple tabata:eek: Just make sure you have lots of ice water!

It is easy to drink too much at wineries, that's for sure, so we always decide on the designated driver before hand. It was my friend this time but I was able to keep myself in check. We only shared one bottle; it really was just the right amount. Oh yeah, then we each had a glass of some frozen concoction of half-red and half-white slush. It was SO GOOD it was hard not to suck it down too fast and get a brain freeze:eek:

The food at the baby shower sounds incredible -- she really went all out! A good time had by all:) I'm not a big candy fan, either, but frosting is a whole 'nother story so those cup cakes sounded just fantastic!

As for STS Legs, go for it! You impress the heck outta me with all the inches you can do, too:cool:

I'll look you up on Pinterest!

Heartymax, Lock-ins are so much fun for kids; my brother went to one and I was jealous simply because he got to stay out all night! He had a great time. I'm so glad your son is hanging out with church-going buddies:)

Way to bang out those pushups! I'm glad you enjoyed your workout:) As for the Cross train Express, I wonder if each has a premix... humm... maybe we can experiment - do all the upper body in one day but only their premixes. I wonder what that would be like! If I try it I will let you know.

Stacie, So glad you have your car back and then got some rest over the weekend. No doubt you needed it! Sorry your son woke up again. That poor boy (and you, too!)! I hope you get back on track with RushFit.

I'll keep your nephew in my prayers:)

Sorry to hear about the monster-spider! Geesh! I saw a post on Pinterest: "That moment when running into a spider web turns you into a karate master!" er - something like that. LOL! I'm also sorry about the fight with the ex-boyfriend.

Zumba - I've only been to a couple classes; it all depends on the instructor... the one guy was great - broke down the moves and repeated them a bunch of times before he moved on. However, we had a sub for the next class and I couldn't follow her if my life depended on it! She was SO wiggly and fast, and she didn't repeat the moves very many times. Plus she wore very loud pants so it was distracting me from her feet.
But, Zumba people seem to be fun - they aren't afraid to smile and laugh with people they don't know :) I don't consider it a workout - I mean, come on - there is no comparison to our home DVDs... but it is exercise:)

I best get going. Have an awesome evening!

This morning was To the Max. Whoever said they can get through this workout without taking a break----Kudos to you. Can we trade hearts:eek: I love the workout. It is so much fun---but doggone do I need a few breaks.

Gotta run ladies.

Hello all. Today was an attempt at Cardio SuperSets. I got about 10-15 minutes in and she lost me at the push-ups...LOL!! I just didn't have it in my after PUB yesterday. So I switched out the DVD for KickMax, just the kicking/punching drills and did that for another 25 minutes plus STS med ball abs. I've decided that tomorrow I'm going to rest. The top of my feet are sore, which I find incredibly odd. I'm sure it's all the jumping in TTM on Sunday. I'm just going to take a break and stretch. I've never done a HiiT workout with that intensity at that pace, so I think I need to allow my body some time to adapt :) My body this week has that feeling I always get when I change my workout routine. It rebels for the first week with extra tightness and just general tiredness. I'm usally fine at about week two.

HeartyMax - that was me that did TTM with no rest, but remember the modifications. Only 1 riser for the entire workout...oh and I STILL feel that workout from Sunday and it's Tuesday. My heart seems to be able to handle it, but my legs are unhappy :) TTM definately counts as a leg workout for me.

Jennifer - I keep previewing CCC, but I have yet to do it. It's those darn air jacks. I pretty much hate them and it keeps me from trying it. But I've decided that I only need to do one workout a week that has that level of intensity until my body gets used to it, so I have an excuse to put it off a little longer.

Tasha - the food sounds excellent at the baby shower. I feel really bad now cause I'm not planning on doing anything that fancy!! In fact I won't be cooking at all. I think we are going to order some wings and pizza and be done with it!! I did, however, find a lady that does cakes and it's going to be a really pretty cake. My step-daugther is excited about that.

Two steps forward, 5 steps backward is exactly how I would describe where I'm at with my daughter. At least we have time to make sure they take all the steps forward they need. They are still very young. Well, at least I hope I have time :)

Stacie - sorry about the fight with you and the ex. Hope that settles a bit for you. And don't get me started on the selective hearing...ugh!!

Have a good day all :)

Good morning everyone! This morning I squeezed in RF: Stength and Endurance. If I do RF: Ab Stength tonight, that should get me pretty much caught up. I don't think those workouts will ever get easy. I upped my weights and I might have to go back down a bit. I had trouble keeping good form on a couple of the exercises. It really is a tough workout. My son was watching me and had no comments about my form which is a good thing. I found I could do pop ups too which I had been scared to try. They looked harder than they were. I did wimp out and do the pushups on my knees though. I got chided from my son about that as well! :)

Men and cars are trouble for me lol! If I only I could take my ex to a guy mechanic to get him all fixed up....just kidding!

The food at the baby shower sounded so yummy! I am getting hungry just reading about it! The candy bar is a great idea too. I bet it was nice to have some Bella free time too!

I forgot to mention that you will have to post a picture of the new dress when you get it. Dress shopping can be either a very happy or very sad experience for me. Of course when you find that perfect dress it's wonderful!

Thanks for the info on Zumba. I don't know why I thought it was pretty challenging for some reason. You are right though that alot of the home workouts we all have a pretty tough. I posted on a different website about Rushfit and one guy was like "Home video are a waste of money. Why not go to a gym and hire a personal trainer. You will get better results." I was annoyed by that and pointed out that the programs do work and that even personal trainers like Paul Ryan VP candidate use P90x. I nearly posted a picture of my bicep after I finished STS. I don't understand people...what works for them doesn't mean it works for everyone!

Don't feel bad about taking breaks during TTM...I did too and I only did the premix!

Toni
You are a brave woman to attempt Cardio Supersets after PUB.

I wouldn't worry about the baby shower food. Most of the ones I have been to just had like trail mix, mints, and then cake. I have never been to one like the one Natasha went to. I honestly can't remember any food being at the one where we had a bunch of margaritas...of course that could be the result of drinking the margaritas!

Have a great day everyone!

The baby shower I went to was located at a 5 star restaurant/hall. Stacie is right, that is NOT the norm. My baby shower was done at a Chinese Buffet Restaurant and my Wedding Shower was done at my aunts house. I got married at a small restaurant with only 50 people attending. I don't like those over-the-top things. My cousin however is an ALL OUT, GO BIG OR GO HOME type of chick! She had 100 people at this baby shower! I find smaller, more intimate occasions to be ideal. Don't feel bad, you are absolutely doing the right thing! :)

Happy Tuesday Evening!
I doubled up today; this morning was Slide N Glide followed by some floor exercises from Butts and Guts.

This evening was the Fitness Challenge class. It was tough; we started with 50 jacks and 20 pushups... 3 sets. It didn't get much easier after that and there were various exercises with and without weights. It was a 40 minute workout and just over 5 minutes of stretching. The thing that got my legs the most was the 100 pulses (pulse squat is what he called them) - I had to take a couple breaks to finish them. Then we repeated it with 70, and then with 30. We separated the sets with ice skaters.

I'm thinking of Yoga Meltdown tomorrow morning.

Stacie, it's hard to believe that someone actually thinks home workouts don't work. What?! I would have loved to see the look on his face if you had sent him a picture of your biceps! LOL!

Glad you were able to get RF in today. I'm not sure what pop ups are... they sound a little like a squat jump?? Your son is a character:D

The challenging part about Zumba is learning the moves but in my opinion that's the only thing challenging about it. It's more fun than anything:)

Toni, I'm still feeling the PUB workout, too. In fact I know I was still feeling it during the Fitness Challenge class.

Good for you for sticking with some kind of workout -- at least you didn't just quit after Supersets and instead pulled out Kick Max:) Way to go, girl!

Don't forget how helpful foam rollers are - they decrease recovery time!

Tasha, Your shower and wedding sound perfect - nice and small. Talk about small, we had 6 people in our wedding and that is including me and Craig (and not our parents).

Heartymax, sounds like TTM is definitely your new favorite:D I must admit I'm looking forward to doing it again, also:D

I best get - have a great evening. Toodles!

Good morning everyone :)

Yesterday's w/o was supposed to be 4DS Upper Body, but I was just not in the mood to drag out all my equipment. I did cardio instead, MMA Boxing. I have to say, that one is deceivingly tough on the arms. They are SO sore today!

Jennifer
I was reading your post to Toni about the saddle bags and your friend making that comment. I can't believe she would say that! Reality is, some women have them (most women actually) and some women don't. I have them and I know first hand how stubborn they are! I'm pretty fit, and those suckers are reluctant to whittle down despite my best efforts . Anyway, I think shapely thighs gives character . And it does not make you any less beautiful (or healthy!), so keep rockin' that great bod!
Your Fitness class sounded brutal! Pulse squats always get me! I love em' :D.
I'm appreciating my 1X/week Yoga now that I've kept with it. I feel great :).

Stacie
SO, I was looking at the RushFit website. I like the articles and blogs. Like you said, very In-Your-Face :D. Is the program all MMA based? The program looks very cool, something I might be interested in. I never got that feeling from Insanity or some of the other Beach Body stuff. Although Body Beast looks pretty damn good .
I love how you son critiques your form! He is one handy little dude .

Toni
Hope you read my previous post :).
I'm like you, I just can't do CSS or Afterburn when my upper body is DOMS'ing! Too many plank exercises!

Have a good day ladies!
