Push It

Good afternoon everyone! I plan on checking in again regularly since I think (and really really really hope) that things have settled down for now. Much of last week was spent in preparation for my poor grandma's funeral which was Monday. My sister and I prepared all of the food. It was a nice service but very very sad. Everyone has been exhausted all week since most of us immediately went back to work. I have only been dog walking (not even jogging!) due to the extreme tiredness. Some days have been a struggle with the energy levels to even get the walking done. I do plan on getting back into it though. I have officially decided to stop STS. I have set up my workout calendar for a RushFit rotation that starts tomorrow! I will be supplementing Rushfit with three other workouts a week which is nice that Rushfit is set up that way. I am looking forward to the change. They really encourage you to take before and after measurements which I will do. After you complete the program, you can submit your results to their website and they will give you a free t-shirt. I am hoping to finish Rushfit just in time for Xtrain.

Thank you everyone for all of the kind thoughts. It really means a lot to me!

Natasha
Sorry to hear about Bella getting sick :(. Hopefully she will shake it off quickly.

HeartyMax
Happy Belated Birthday!!!! I hope your day was fantastic!

Jennifer
Thanks for the review of JM Yoga Meltdown. I might have to add that to my list! I have one pilates set but I really didn't like it much. I have been thinking about getting some with Ana Cuban as the instructor but haven't made the plunge yet. However, yoga would be a good substitute.

It's nice to hear about your classes as well. What a great way to change things up! My hat tips off to you for finding the time to workout in both the morning AND the evening. Way to go!

Toni
Glad to hear the kids had a great first day at school. They always do look so cute in their new outifts don't they? Of course after a couple of months, sometimes the backpack is already started to tear, some of the shirts are stained, and a couple of pairs of pants will have holes in them. At least that's the way it goes in my household. I have no idea what my son does at school to make his stuff look like he went through a war zone.

Have a great day everyone!

Realized that I haven't checked in. I did Cross Fire yesterday morning and my oh my was that "let me catch my breathe for a minute" workout. Love it and can't wait to do it again. Haven't had a chance to preview TTM yet.

Letting the boys have neighborhood friends over this evening. They are playing the new Madden football xbox game and I ordered pizza and wings for them so they are having a blast in the basement. It has to be over by 10 so DS can go to bed. He has a football game in the morning. I just wanted to do something nice for the kids since the "homework" will start kicking in after this long weekend and there may not be much low key time for them.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

Natty---Is Bella feeling better? Tell her that I hope she is not allergic to all that fun she had. :D

Stacie--you will have a chance to recommit to STS later. You have a lot going on. Rushfit sounds like fun and the change of pace will be good for you too.

Jennifer--no push ups for me this week. I may start back and week 1 or 2 next week. I will see. It is so hard to get everything in. WoW---you are doing double workouts.. That is so awesome. How do you find the time and the energy???

DH got me Think Like A Man DVD since I didn't make it to the movies to see it. I think I will watch it this weekend.

Happy Labor Day Weekend (we celebrate here too :D).

Bella is still sick so no special plans for the w/e.

It's TTOTM for me and I'm feeling tired, blah, and hungry for chocolate :p. I did my w/o yesterday which was S&G cardio + LBB (no leg conditioning drills). My butt and legs were fried . I feel a nice bout of DOMS today :D.

Today's w/o will be Jillian's Yoga Meltdown (L2).

Stacie
Once again, my condolences. I can imagine how exhausted and drained you must feel. Good idea about stopping STS. Walking is so very good for the mind.
Rushfit looks like so much fun. I love how you try all the different programs. I wouldn't worry too much about Xtrain being in your hands by this year anyway. I have a feeling 2013 they will start shipping. I'm in no rush :D.

Heartymax

LOL, Crossfire does it again . Glad you liked it ;).
Think Like A Man, is that with Steve Harvey? OMG I love him!! He is one of my favorite comedians, plus he's super smart. My DH always says I think/act too much like a man sometimes  ;)

Jennifer
It's so awesome how you are doing am/pm workouts! Are you having any problems sitting on the toilet after your GS leg conditioning drills + pm drills w/squats??:eek:

Have a wonderful w/e ladies!

Good morning,

I have lost a few pounds, noticed my pants getting a bit loose, and my upper body looking more muscular. It is nice to see results! I even did a decent job doing spiderman pushups:)

My hat is off you to ladies, though, for doing all that you do - being a mother and keeping yourselves fit. I don't know how you have the energy - you are amazing!

Stacie, you and your family are amazing; I'm sure your grandma was smiling down upon you all. Big hugs to you and your family.
I hope you all can get back to some sort of normalcy and peace very soon. Seems like it's been a crazy several months!

Heartymax, how did the football game go today?
What a fun Friday night you gave the kids:)

Cool - way to go on Crossfire! It is exhausting! Let us know about TTM, too.

Think Like A Man - I would benefit from that one just basing it on the title. I certainly am too emtional:rolleyes:

Tasha, wishing Bella a speedy recovery; some TLC and a low-key weekend sounds perfect for her.

Way to go on the DOMS; I do really like the sound of that LBB/S&G combo.

Enjoy the Meltdown in L2!

I was wondering if Canada celebrated Labor Day... thanks for answering that:)

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was RF: Stength and Endurance. I am feeling it today. My shoulders, glutes, neck, back, and thighs are on fire. It has to be from the cycles with the weight work since the first time I did it I only did the rounds with the body weight exercises and wasn't sore at all. Here is a break down of the entire workout: 10 minute warm up, 5 conditioning rounds, cooldown. They market the workout as a 45 minute one but it's actually longer due to the active rests between rounds and the cool down. I noticed that some of JM's workouts are like that too -- they say it's a 30 minute one but it's really 45-50 minutes. Anyway, rounds 1 & 2 are cardio body weight rounds. Round 3 is upper body conditioning. Round 4 is lower body conditioning. Round 5 is floor/core work.

Sorry for the quick checkin -- I have family visiting and need to run. Have a good day!

Happy Sunday gals!

Yesterday's w/o was 6 Week/6 pack L1 (Jillian) + Yoga Meltdown L2 (Jillian). Total time 60min. It's TTOTM for me, and so my endurance is usually in the crapper during this time :(. Not sure if it's also because I'm not really doing Jillian often (or abs for that matter ) but it was really, really HARD! I swore a few times and called her a nut case. I love how she pushes me though, definitely very humbling when I think I'm a little too cocky ;).

Bella is feeling better and so today we went to a place near downtown Toronto called Yonge & Eglinton. One of my favorite districts to walk, shop, eat, and just enjoy the day. It's unlike some other districts in Toronto where everyone is acting like a rushing lunatic . It's also a hot spot for celebrities during TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). Did I tell you guys that I've seen Mr.Big (Chris Noth) from Sex & The City?

Jennifer
Congrats on losing a few lbs, upper body definition, and great results! I'm sure you look friggin' fabulous ;).
Thank you for the nice compliment :). I don't think it's just us moms who have a difficult time balancing their life with fitness. Everyone has a cross to bare, and I respect each and everyone's individual lifestyle. Having animals is no walk in the park either! I always say dogs are like little kids...except some dogs are trained better ;).

Stacie
Great job on getting back into your workouts :). I was looking at Rip 60 (your post on OD) and the program looks awesome! I love the hanging contraption . That is something I would definitely be interested in trying...but with this years purchase of STS and now Xtrain, I have to pace myself .

Hope everyone is enjoying their nice long weekend

Stacie---Glad you had an "on fire" workout.

Jennifer--WTG on the weightloss:D Upper Body definition is always a plus too. You are rocking your workouts right now. Just life itself makes it heard to balance the everyday and getting in the workouts. I am taking a class on leadership and I was doing some of my reading yesterday. There was a section that talked about people always say they need more time to accomplish what they need where as in reality it is "choice". We have to make certain things a choice and a priority. Exercise is CHOICE for us ladies and I am glad it is.

Natty---Glad Bella is feeling better. I love the way JM works the abs. I just don't like the way she walks around during the workout talking so much. She needs to get her butt down and keep it down there too. :D

Hi Toni!

Well, no workouts for me on Saturday or Sunday. My sons football game was on Saturday morning and his team won. DS had a great game making some really good plays from fumble recovery to sacking the quarter back a few times. I was so proud of him. Sunday, we went to church and then tried out a new Mexican restaurant afterwards. It was pretty good.

I decided to start my push ups again and I started back down at week 2 and even opted for column 2 even though I know I should be at column 3. I just want to build my strength back up and not struggle so much in week 3. I decided that I would cut down on the rest time between the sets though. Anyway my 5 sets were 9, 11, 8,8 and 13 (supposed to be 11). Then I moved on to Cross Fire and only had time to do the first 40 minutes cause I gotta take DS to football practice. Yeah, they are practicing on Labor Day:eek:.

Hello my fellow fitness gurus!

Thank you for the kudos:)
I agree, working out is a choice we all make and we prioritize the life style. Doing it for ourselves empowers us. By the way, Tash, I meant to comment before - I love your quote about no one ever saying they regret that workout. Isn't that the absolute truth?!

We've had a fun holiday weekend; went to a movie Sunday afternoon (The Campaign) with another couple and then to a party after that which was a blast.
Today we met up with some friends for an early Mexican dinner; it was a new place for us, too, Heartymax.

BTW, the movie was very crude and tacky but I have to admit it was pretty hilarious at times.

As for my workouts this weekend:
Saturday I took the day off completely.
Sunday I did my pushup sets between TriSets Upper body. I only did 3 sets, though, because did I mention I did TriSets Upper body?!

Today I did the 73 min. premix in Lower Body Blast; I had to take a dog walking break in the middle of it because they were staring at me looking so darn pathetic I couldn't stand it anymore... seeing their faces anticipating their walk. Man, they have me trained. Really, though, it's been so humid here and the longer it took to get going the hotter it was going to get.

Heartymax, why am I not surprised about the Leadership classes; it sounds like something you will/do excel in:)
That's great news about the football game; I'm happy for him!

Glad you had a nice Sunday.
Craig and I can't agree on a church so we don't go. It's sad, really; we need each other to motivate each other into going, but when we don't agree on a church that just stops us. I think it's great that you make it a family affair.
Have you heard of Joel Osteen? He's on TV and based in Texas. He is so motivating and I always love his messages.

Good job sticking with the pushup program. Do you have To The Max on your calendar this week?!

Tasha, how cool that you saw Mr. Big! His name just cracks me up:D What a great place to walk around. Glad Bella is feeling better:) Did you decide on a school for her?

Speaking of Jillian, I've got Killer Buns L2 on the menu for this week... I'll probably pair it with KPC. And I will probably be using a few choice words for Jillian myself:eek:

Stacie, I thank you, too, for the description of RushFit. I like the concept and it sounds like it works based on how sore you are! Glad to hear you like it! Did you find out anything about Cardio Coach? I *think* that was you who asked about it, maybe for your dog jog/walks.

Another shout out to Toni:)
Have a good night!

Jennifer-- I absolutely love Joel Osteen!!! We watch the 10:00 to 10:30 message before we leave for church. I call it my pre-church service. Some Sundays we don't make it to church and then Joel's message is our church for the day too. He was in DC this summer and one of my neighbors went.

I decided to go for To The Max this morning without ever previewing. Hey---with all my years of Cathe----I don't need to preview---right???? Anyway, I think I have a new favorite workout. It was so much fun. I was sweating and having a blast. I agree that it is not as tough as Cross Fire----but still tough in its own way. The core/upperbody focus was a pleasant surprise. Just absolutely awesome workout!! :D

Good morning gals :)

Yesterday's w/o was a mixture of UB workouts I created in the blender. Here it is:

Intensity Bootcamp (15min)
Turbo Barre (UB only)
STS TB (UB only)
100 Rep Challenge w/rear delts only
Total time: 60min or so

MY UPPER BODY WAS FRIED!!! I love that feeling :D. I would totally recommend doing this mix&match workout, as it proves to be very thorough and hits all the UB muscle groups well. The bootcamp gives it a nice little cardio boost too. BTW, the bootcamp has push-ups, but my endurance was crappy because of TTOTM. I did the first 14 on my toes, and the rest on my knee's.

Heartymax
I'm so happy you loved TTM! I rarely preview anything unless it's complex step, and even then I'm much too impatient and just jump right in :D.
I'm glad your son had a great game :). I hope Bella gets into sports too.
I love Mexican food. It's harder to pick a cuisine that I don't like .

Jennifer
ARE YOU ON PINTEREST????? They have amazing health/fitness quotes on there! I love all the recipes, pics, idea's, the list goes on...OMG!
No, I have not decided on a school yet. I thought my cut-off was this year, but I have until next year before Sept 2013 to enroll. Thank you for asking :).
Speaking of Mexican, have you ever been to Mexico? I know lots of people who have gone and loved it.
I love doggies :). Bella asks for one all the time, but I said that unless she is old enough to take the dog out, clean it's poop, and take care of it, she can forget about it! Dogs are not novelty items. They need plenty of TLC :).

Toni & Stacie
Hello :)

Have a good day folks!

Hello every one!! Sorry haven't been checking in much...these first few weeks of school are killing me. But this week should be slow as I only have one day where we have activities in the evening this week!! Brandon is in 6th grade camp, which is overnight. He won't be back until Friday, so no football practice this week...yippee!!

I have been working out though :) Sunday was major camps with TTOM, but I managed a 30 minute bike ride nothing too intense. Yesterday was TTM for the first time....holy cow!!! I only did one riser and no firewalkers and low weights and I STILL needed lots of rest...HAHA!! I think I can push myself with less rest though. That 30/20 section was TOUGH!! That's where I actually needed the rest. The 20/10 wasn't bad. And I loved the core section at the end. Very nice change and faily short...excellent workout over all.

Today was High Step Training. For some reason I keep reaching for that one. Maybe I'll switch it out next week. I took my barbell to 30lbs, but I think I will up it again for next week. Well for everything but those sit and stands. I'll stay at 30 for those cause I could not do them all today. I think I rested for 2 of them.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day, but I'm thinking I'm gonna do Cardio Superset. Just the base version of 41 minutes. I usually do the extended, but since I'm supposed to be resting I'll shorten it a bit.

I did most of the shopping and prep for the baby shower. It's still a month off, but I hate having to rush. I made the invitations, ordered the favors online, bought supplied for the diaper cake I'm going to make, and picked out what I'm actually going to get the baby(swing and high chair). So I feel like it was pretty productive and that I'm going to be ready. I still need to find a place to order the cake and we will be all set.

Tasha - you are a workout QUEEN these days. You must feel awesome being able to do all that!! And I love how you find cool little activities for you and your daughter!! I'm not a very good soccer mom. I'm not good at finding that type of stuff. And DO NOT get me started about how at least once a year I'm at the wrong building or wrong time for this practice of that...LOL!!

HeartyMax - I also loved TTM!! Glad to see your son is doing well in football. My son's youth team is not very good. They loose most of their games, but I'm always proud of them because they never give up in a game no matter how badly they loose. And they do continue to get better with each game. I'm hoping playing in middle school will be better for him. I think having better coaches will be huge. But I will certainly not complain about the youth coaches as they do not have to volunteer their time and I certainly appreciate that they do.

Jennifer - good job on the pounds lost!!

Stacie - good job with RF. I may have to look into that one.

Good morning all! Sorry for the short post on Sunday. My dad came up for an unexpected visit. I tried to sneak in a checkin while he was sleeping but he came out and was trying to read what I wrote. I love my dad but he gets really testy if he isn't the center of attention when he is around.

Yesterday I did 45 minutes of Rhythmic Step. I had planned to do the entire thing but my mom called in the middle of it and then I had to shower before the exterminator came. We had the ants come back and then found traces of a mouse in the garage! My neighbor apparently is super infested with mice which really freaks us both out. The exterminator said that the problem should be getting better very soon with all the traps and bait he is using. I hope for her sake (and mine!) that he is right.

So I was very weak and wound up buying rip:60 since it was 35% off at Target with my redcard discount. I tried out the door straps and I must say they are pretty cool. I have not previewed the discs at all -- I just tried a couple of exercises that were on the exercise sheet provided. The nutrition guide looked good too. It details exactly what to eat on each day and for each meal. It also provides recipes for some of the dishes. There was a salmon one that looked pretty tasty. It recommends 1300 calories for the first week (I think Rushfit did too) but I think that's too low. Any thoughts? I lucked out and also found a pair of weighted gloves for only $5 at Marshall's. They have some kettleballs there two which I will need for rip:60.

Natasha
That's great news that Bella feels better. Hooray! It looks like you are doing great on your workouts as well. Good job!

Jennifer
My mom is a huge Joel O. fan. I agree that his sermons are pretty good. He seems very upbeat and positive all the time. I am not sure about his wife after that whole incident with the flight attendant here in Colorado but he seems like a very nice man.

Cardio Coach was being investigating my Natasha I think. Everyone speaks so highly of his program though it might be something to look forward to in the future.

HeartyMax
What a great mom you are! Pizza and friends on Friday and then cheering on your son's football team on Saturday. Your kids are super lucky to have a mom like you!

Toni
Great job on keeping up with your workouts even with all the stuff you have going on. I don't know how you do it. You are so organized as well to be already prepared for the baby shower. I don't know if you have a Sam's club by you but I usually order any cakes I need from there since they taste really good and are pretty cheap. Too bad you don't live here, I would ask my sister to make it for you. Her decorating skills are fantastic! She is so talented at it.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

I have DOMS in the top of my quads and in my rear end! Yay! I wonder if I've gotten better at LBB and perhaps I'm hitting the exercises better... meaning that's why it is finally giving me DOMS. I don't remember feeling this way from that workout. Or I guess it could have been the particular premix. Who knows - I just know I'm happy:D

This morning I only had time for HiiT (40/20). I still need an extra couple breaks to get through it, as usual, but I have improved on the exercises.

I can't make the Fitness class tonight because of a chiropractor apt (which I desparately need right now!); a little disappointing since I'm really breaking through my plateau -- but I guess that means I will do a circiut workout tomorrow morning. Low Impact Circuit sounds good! Thanks to whomever mentioned that one last week.

Toni, you are so funny. The wrong place/wrong time:D
That's why I originally got a cell phone all those many years ago... I used to get lost all the time!

Anyway, it is awesome to hear that your son's team never gives up - that is really a big deal and surely it's why they are getting better! And they have to have fabulous attitudes, too; learning to never give up is such a great lesson.

Your baby shower sounds wonderful! How is your step daughter feeling? I can't remember... how far along is she?

Great job on the workouts! I also love the two High Step workouts. There are so many to choose from it's nice to hear what everyone is doing and be reminded of those workouts.

Heartymax, as for Joel Osteen, it sounded a bit familiar - like maybe we've talked about him before (?) but either way, I'm glad it came up again:) Craig and I went to see him in January 2011 (pretty sure it was 2011) when he came to St. Louis... he is the reason we donate to Save the Children.

Good for you and TTM! So glad to hear you enjoyed it :) Seems when Cathe has a new dvd it's almost always a new favorite until the next new one!

Tasha, I have heard of Pintrest but had no idea what it was! I will need to start checking it out!

I can see how your upper body blender was so thorough - what a great workout! I'm writing it down and will put it on my calendar this week. I don't have the downloads so I don't have the 100 rep challenge but I know how to count:D I'm so glad you are in this check-in:cool:

It's great to teach Bella about the responsibility of a dog - it's heartwarming, too. Too many people are not raised to realize that dogs depend on us to keep them safe and all the other good things that they deserve.

It's got to be a relief that you have more time to decide on her school, too. It's a big decision!

I absolutely LOVED Mexico! And I'm with you... it is harder for me to find a type of food that I don't like. Life is better that way, too:)

I best get to work - working on a bound book (verses a loose-leaf, updated book). ImmunoFacts. Anyone interested in an particular vaccine?!
Have a great day!

I started my morning with Week 2 Day 2 of push ups for 10,11,9,9,15 (at least 13). Then I choose STS Legs disc 9. Love those sliding back lunges with the disc. I have to hold the weights in my hand and not release them and pick them up. Just can' t manage to keep good form that way. I know thighs will remind me tomorrow.

Jennifer---Hiit 40/20 is my favorite of the series. I like the moves in that one better. It may be more like 30/30 when I do it anyway based on my rest peirods :D

Natty--you are right---no complex moves in TTM so there was no need to preview it at all. Cathe outdid her self with that workout. I am looking forward to Xtrain to see what she has done.

Toni
--youth sports teach the kids so much about having fun and just getting coordinated and learning about the different skills. My youngest son has never been on a really good baseball team but we watch them improve over the season and it is always wonderful. The way the kids handle winning/losing all depends on the message they are taught early on. I remember years ago my youngest son was in a soccer tournament and we won. My son was about 7 years old then. The other team had coach with such a bad attitude. I told the parents that my kids wouldn't play on a team for a coach like that guy. He was screaming and cursing and those little kids. He kicked a ball across the field out of anger. It was totally ridiculous. Our coach was out of town that weekend but we informed him and wanted this guy reported to the league for the lack of sportsmanship that he presents for kids that age. Like you, I am thankful for the coaches volunteering their time for youth sports and overall we have been thankful for the good experiences our kids have had whether they are winning or losing:D.

Stacie--Rhythmic Step is an all time favorite step workout. Love the music.

Good morning ladies :)

Today's w/o will be Plyo Legs.

I have a new rotation set up to start next week. The one that I'm almost done with has given me some visible results. I have a little more UB definition, especially in my shoulder's. My Lower body looks slightly leaner too, with more muscle, which means I truly need to do legs 2X/week to maintain results for my body-type.

Here is my new rotation:

Day 1- Turbo Barre (in it's entirety)
Day 2- cardio (hiit, intervals, tabata)
Day 3- STS Legs M1 W3
Day 4- cardio (steady state)
Day 5- 4DS UB premix
Day 6- Yoga + abs
Day 7- Rest

Stacie
I knew you'd buy Rip 60 :). The program looks very cool. Did you know Jillian has a workout in it? That's what I saw on the website anyway.
As for calories, I was watching Jillian's Daily Dose few weeks ago, and she says 1200-1300cal is perfect for women trying to lose weight and won't compromise the metabolism as long as you continue to exercise. Here it is:
Why Are You Still Fat?
I'm not saying her word is gold, but I do trust her information. I think that # works for me because I am on the short side. When I had to lose all that post-pregnancy weight, I stuck to that figure, and it worked :D.

Toni
I'm glad you loved TTM! Yes, the hiit 30/20 is very intense .
You are so awesome for doing all that stuff for the baby shower. Ordering on-line is the way to go. I did a lot of that for my wedding in 2004, and people thought I was weird because it was not the "in" thing to do. Now look who's laughing :D.
Thank your for the compliment :). Yes, I love outdoor activities and I'm creative with that. But in reality, I have a difficult time finding stuff to do inside. I see some stuff on Pinterest, and I'm like "oh gosh, am I a bad mom cuz' I can't turn a simple t-shirt into a pretty dress or make a Finding Nemo cake from scratch?". I'm not good at stuff like that .

Jennifer
You know how I feel about 40/20. Let's just leave it at that.
The 100 Rep Challenge is something you can do anytime. It's not a program out yet. Did you read the info from SNM?
Yes, I forgot you went to Mexico. It's on my top spot for vacations .
A vaccine? Well, Bella needs to get her 2nd shot for the chicken pox before she starts school :D. It's funny, we never had that as kids, we just got the chicken pox and that was it, we were immune. I think they go overboard with vaccines nowadays. I won't give Bella the flu one.

Heartymax
I'm looking forward to Xtrain too. I love the shorter strength training splits! I can't wait for that!
I have a hard time with those sliding back lunges with the weights released at the bottom too. I can go heavy, but then my form is sloppy and so I have to use wussy "girl weights" lol.

Hello all!! Today was Cardio Supersets and I was a sweaty mess!! Loved it!! Today was my fourth day in a row of workouts and it looks like I'm going to get six in this week, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I was okay with the less workouts a week cause I needed the mental break, but it feels good also to do six when I have it in me :D

Ok...I need some enabling :D I think I want a new workout. And I like TTM so much, I think I want another HiiT workout. I actually don't have any others. What are your favs?

Tasha - I'm not good at the inside or outside stuff!! I think my friend said it best to sum me and her up...we are good at doing FOR the kids but not as good at doing WITH the kids. I am really good at doing anything that needs to be done FOR them(homework help, getting to and from activities, birthday parties, doc appts, school paperwork etc). I struggle with doing WITH them...I've never known what to do. I honestly have to research it...LOL!! But I do understand that it is SOOOO important to do with them. I just have to work harder at it than some other moms, but that certainly does not make me a bad mom!! Just means I've got weaknesses just like everyone else. And from what you post about Bella I can see nothing that would ever lead me to think you are a bad mom, so PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT :D

HeartyMax - you are so right about the positive example. I would rather keep my kid on a loosing team where he is treated with respect and a positive attitue than have him on some winning team with bad attitude and poor sportsmanship. The winning teams in our league are terrible and I'm happy we are not on them.

Jennifer - tell me more about HiiT 40/20? Will it kick my butt worse than TTM?

Stacie - we do have Sam's club. My father in law has a membership there...I'll look into it. Thanks!!

Happy Wednesday afternoon!
You all sound great; glad to hear all your workouts are going so well:D

Today was Low Impact circuit and I ended up hurting my foot on a step-knee-hold at the bottom, then shoot up/over and tap down. It's crazy! I know!
I'm okay, not limping or anything like that at all but when my foot tapped the floor it just hit the wrong way, and I can feel some soreness in the TOP of my foot. It has to be a pinched nerve. On Low Impact - LOL!

I also did my pushups (paused the workout a few times), and I did 6 sets out of the 7... The challenge increases the sets but decreases the number of reps. I love that now I have the confidence to drop down and belt 'em out - on my toes! One of these days I will be able to do 20!

Toni, Glad you are able to do 6 days this week:D

HiiT exercise DVD (Cathe) is the one that has 40/20 on it. It also has 2 other HiiT workouts - 30/30 and Pyramid. I like them all!
Pyramid doesn't use equipment at all (even a step) which is a nice change. It also doesn't seem to be AS hard as the other two because the timing is a bit different... tapers up and then tapers down, two separate times.
All the workouts are about 30 minutes or less.
Since it has three separate workouts it is an especially good one to have!

Heartymax, so are your thighs talking to you?! Awesome job on the pushups and leg workout!:D

Tasha, I did sign up for Pintrest! I'm looking forward to having some time to really check it out and create my board (whatever that will do - I'll investigate this weekend):) I did see some really good quotes on there... need to find one I want to use for my signature line; so many to choose from:confused:

Your rotation looks great, and congrats on the one you're finishing! By the way, when is the event you were wanting to drop some pounds for... another month to go or somewhere around there? It's a reunion or a shower, right? I'm happy that you are getting the results you are working so hard to acheive:D

I don't think I read - in it's entirety - about the 100 reps that was posted. I remember reading that high reps with low weights builds up the muscles that get over-taken by the stronger muscles, and then I guess the rest just left my brain! LOL! Thank you for clearing that up:)

As for vaccines, I don't blame you for not having Bella get the flu shot. Heck - I don't even get one. I figure most everyone gets one so that should help keep me from getting it! And actually, I have only had it once. Yes, it was just awful. So I just hope I don't get it again.

Also, I think it's perfect that you do outdoors things with Bella; it teaches her to get outside and move!

Gotta go - Have a good night!

Good afternoon everyone! Yesterday was 25 minutes of RF: Abdominal Stength and Core. I did not finish it because my son woke up again! I plan to finish the rest of it on another day. I also did the RF fit assessment and it was a killer five minutes. 1 minute of air squats, 20 second rest, 1 minute of pushups, 20 seconds rest, 1 minute of situps, 20 second rest, and 1 minute of burpees. I did ok -- better than I thought I would. George was really pumping out the pushups and I was completely jealous.

Jennifer
I hope the chiropractor was able to help out. That's too bad about your foot. Hopefully, it will feel better tomorrow. Terrific job on the pushups as well. I am sure you will be up to 20 in no time!

The back lunges where you set down the weights start to really bother my knees after a couple of reps. I don't know what it is about that exercise...maybe it's the depth. I have taken to just holding the weight the entire time as well. I am not sure how Cathe is able to do certain exercises so easily -- she's just amazing!

Good for you for standing up for the kids about the bad coach. I know it was the terrible coaching that made me stop playing basketball in high school. Some people are simply too competitive and they go completely overboard. The kids deserve to be around positive role models that make them feel good.

Natasha
You come up with great rotations and it's good to hear that they are working for you! Thanks for the information too from JM. I will watch that later on today when I am home from work.

I did notice that there is JM workout with the set. George St. Pierre has a Rushfit style workout on there as well. I had thought that the two of them did the entire set but that's not true at all. I am slightly confused with the workout schedule. It looks like the dics are broken into weeks and that same disc is repeated 5 times for that week. I will have to crack the case open and find out what's going on with that.

Last night I went to Wal-mart and there was a bunch of good exercise stuff on clearance. There was a set with two JM DVDs that include weights for only $10. Have you ever worked with a kettlebell? If so, what weight for it do you use? Walmart has a three kettlebell set with JM's name on it for $38. The size are 5lbs, 10lbs, 15lbs. I don't know if those weight values are good or not.

Toni
I know I will be the minority here but my favorite HiiT is CCC. I will say that I usually do the 30 minute premix rather than the entire thing. The HiiT DVD has huge dread factor for me. I find all the workouts to be really hard.

Btw, no one here is anywhere near a bad mom. You guys are all terrific -- even Jennifer as a mom to her dogs. We can all only do what we can since there is alot going on for everyone!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I have a 5lbs kettle and 10lbs kettle. Sadly to say, the 5lbs is not challenging at all, and the 10lbs is OK for some moves, but again not very challenging. With kettle bells, you really need to find that sweet spot for your weight selection. Even once you learn form and tutorials, which is ok for a 5lb, you might need to bump up to a 15lbs, even 20lbs to get the true challenge and benefit of a kettle bell. You'll see, you won't even break a sweat with the swings, and you'll end up just questioning if it is truly effective (which it is) but again, you need to find a heavy enough weight to challenge you, but not injure you. Make sense? For that price though, I say GET IT anyway! You're off to a good start, and 15lbs is pretty heavy. You can also use your kettle bells when Cathe does front swings (instead of a dumbbell), even during several moves in Afterburn. The weight in the bell is distributed differently and so you'll utilize several muscle groups while performing the exercises. DOMS central baby! I love bells :(. I just can't go out and buy yet another damn piece of exercise equipment...just yet ;).
