Clarissa's thread gave me the idea for this one:
What are your kids' names, and why did you choose them? (the names, not the kids...ha) Those with fur babies are included as well. I named my dog Snoopy Walter after 1) the cartoon character and 2) my late grandfather.
In addition, if you have an interesting story about your own name, please share!
My 1st daughter, Megan, is named after the character "Meggie" in The Thorn Birds.
My 2nd daughter, Naomi, got her name because I loved the sound of it. I think the Biblical origin is pretty neat, but that wasn't the inspiration.
Both girls' middle names are simply names that I thought sounded pretty with their first names: Megan Christine and Naomi Marie.
My mother gave her kids short, 4-letter names so that we'd be able to spell them in school. 4 women in our family (my poor niece included) all share the same middle name. I myself am not pleased with her lack of creativity. My husband, however, claims to love my name. I think he's just being nice. It it wasn't such a hassle, I'd change my name to something groovy. Maybe something Native American.
